Brother I love your explanation of the stat/pool/edge. I was so confused on the fact that the stats are spendable thank you so much for this creation guide.
Thank you for this. I’m still on the fence about the Cypher System. I’d like a generic system that can give me a Star Wars-esque, Dresden Files, and generic fantasy settings (magic being important) that will be narrative. Your GM/DM style from the sound of it is similar to mine so far. More research to come. Good evening from Japan. Brett
The Hero System will do most of that out of the box. Star Wars can be done, but you would need to ignore some rules to allow the over the top cinematic feel. But adding to Hero System is very simple. But it is more complex than this system.
Cypher system is great for those GM's that are horrible rollers! I have play in two 1 on 1 campaigns with Cypher system and both were so much fun! I have also played in a 1-shot Numenera game.
What are the differences between Edge and Effort? And do players have to continuously keep subtracting/adding to their overall Might/Speed/Intel pool? Btw, your content is d0pe!
Thanks! Effort is a number of points you spend from your stat pool to lower difficulties and use abilities. Edge lowers the number points you have to spend for effort.
@@confessionsofafrustratedga6465 What happens, though, when Effort is spent? Do players technically have to erase their pool total until after they have rested, or do they just kinda keep track of it in their head?
@@chazortiz6397 I’d say think of the pool as what is left of the stat that your using wether it’s might/speed/intellect it changes my thoughts on how combat works as if any of those becomes 0 you are degraded

The races have evolved more Alien look where skin color can be green, hair purple eyes red and tail with horns but other wise look like human or elf or dwarf . . . The people know how to infuse crystals with magic, there are some people specialized making crystals that can be then charged with magic to do simple task. You might have red crystal that when powered with magic makes flame, batteries and maybe water crystal for shower where when given some magic power either by people or device for thous who cna't use magic you can make them work. . . ^ and that is the short version what I tough of :\ I have habit of making things too complex even before playing so I let players play in sand box if they wanna do something else be my quest hehe :D Hope you have wonderful week ^_^/)

It's the original cypher system rulebook. They came out with a new one a couple of years ago. I didn't think there was a significant page count difference.

Very many thanks for breaking down character creation. I'm sold on the system.
Tx for the good content. Audio quality helped a lot. 🇧🇷
Looking at switching to Cypher system. This is a great intro thank you.

I like the idea of giving an entire faction to a single descriptor. Simplifies shit.
