Was in a relationship with a guy of 5 years long, found he was cheating on me about two years into it, stayed with him. Was never the same, the relationship just died slowly. Should of just killed it there and then, ultimately wasn't worth trying to work it out.

      They feel like they need a reason, so they blame the person they cheated on. ( A person I knew has been cheated on by most of her partners because she keeps dating horrible people. At least 3 of her exes are now in jail)

    My parents got married young, about 21, 22 yrs old. Dad was a pilot in the Navy. Of course long stretches away, long months. All through my childhood. What did Mom do? Went to work, staid very busy. Took care of kids, house, full time teaching. She had friends, a bit of a social life. The key was, she knew exactly what she was getting into. Had about a year long engagement, talked to each other, knew other Navy wives. It wasn't easy, many Navy marriages failed. But my parents decided to make it work. They were a team for 33 yrs, until cancer took my mother. It can be done, but both parties have to be mature enough to talk the problems out and support each other.

      I wonder what decade this took place in. The dates you give imply this was happening in maybe the 50s or even 60s. If it was that far ago, it was either at the beginning of or just before white culture took a nose dive towards degeneracy and hedonism. In which case that kind of loyalty wasnt terribly uncommon. But still heartwarming to hear about.

    • @des7911
      @des7911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      I don’t understand why people don’t realize communication is so important, do people not talk about their future plans individually and together ? It’s like people just jump into relationships and think “oh well let’s see how this goes”. Get to know the person and listen to them about their dreams and goals and think to yourself if it’s something you’d be able to handle. When I found out my current boyfriend (before he was my boyfriend ) that he was in a band I was like yikes... it was scary but I support him and his guys in every single way possible. They’re amazing and great people! Yeah they’ll have girls trying to talk to them but I trust my boyfriend enough not to fall for that kind of shit. Found out they’re going on tour, it scared me again but I trust him because I know he trusts himself and I trust myself. If we can trust ourselves we can trust our partners. Now we’re getting married, we have our budgets and financial goals set, planning to move in together after we get married and to start trying to have a baby. I know I’ll have to stay home and take care of the baby while he’s out but that’s because it’s what we planned and talked about. I’m totally okay with that because I have my family and my friend to lean on when I need a bit of help. My only rule is to bond with the baby just as much as he can before he leaves. I’m so happy in my relationship, he’s a very attractive man and I get worried sometimes but I could tell by the way he looks at me I know he truly loves me.

      As a former Navy Vet I have witnessed so much in terms of failed relationships and marriages as a result of long separations. Majority were a result of infidelity but some just could not deal with the separation lifestyle.
      Have several good friends, now retired from the Navy, and still married to the woman they were married to when we were stationed togather in the 1980's. Definately NOT the norm for Navy vets and Navy wives but they are exceptional people and people I am proud to call friends for life.

      @Eye_Of_Odin978 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's just deflection. It happens with lots of people when they have underlying issues, not just cheaters.
      Most people are quicker to make an excuse rather than look inward and reflect.
      It comes from being poorly raised and taught (or rather, taught by lack thereof proper teaching) that they have little to no agency or responsibility in their lives.
      So when they do end up mucking things up, they often blame others a coping mechanism, refusing accountability.

    One day I took my dad to the hospital because he said he was having chest problems. Anyway, while we're waiting we meet this guy who has been waiting for like 3 hours. He starts a conversation and eventually it leads to how he was cheated on by his wife and friend from work. Legit the guy said he told his coworker he wasnt going anywhere, and duct taped him to the bed. He called the cops and said that he had a cheater and a coworker in the same bed and needed to be taken care of because they're covered in tape. The guy waited for the cops to arrive and he got arrested but the cops were laughing the whole time and didnt even want to arrest the guy. He said he was at the hospital because he needed to outlive both of them that way he can piss on their graves. What a legend

    Happened to my cousin with a twist. He had just moved in with his cheating girlfriend, cardboard boxes and all that. A week after the move, he got sent home sick from work and discovered her with some dude. Here's the weird pard. The other man became *super pissed* because she had lied to him. He bounced between cussing her out and apologizing profusely to my cousin, swearing that she had played him before he got dressed and GTFO. Naturally, cousin kicked said THOT to the curb and stopped dating unemployed brats.

    I experienced ‘shutting down’ too. I asked my boyfriend at the time if he was cheating because I had a gut feeling, he denied it but a month later the guilt was probably too much for him. He admitted that he’d been cheating on me with his ex but he loved me so he was ready to let her go and move on with me... 😂 all whilst we were parked up in his car having a coffee date. I just said “ah I thought so” and he seemed confused to why I didn’t freak out. I finished my coffee then asked him to drop me home, he did, I said a polite goodbye and thanks for the coffee then stopped all contact with him.
    Seriously guys, if this ever happens to you do not give them the pleasure of seeing you broken hearted and crying, it’ll make them feel as worthless as you do if you just act like they don’t matter. Then drink a bottle of wine and cry with your best mate for a few nights 😂

    My mom told me the story of how my grandma found out my step-grandfather was cheating on her. Apparently, every morning that my grandma would drive to work, he'd have some lady come over a few minutes after. One of my grandma's neighbors ended up telling her she had seen this woman going into her house almost as soon as she left, and was suspicious. My grandma hatched a plan, and proceeded to feign like she was going to work, but instead just drove the car around the block, parked further away, and waited. Sure enough, the other woman came to the house. She waited a few moments, then got out of the car and walked into the house to catch her husband and the other woman in the middle of the act on her bed. I've been told that my grandma beat the crap out of both of them and dragged the other woman out while she was screaming and trying to break free. I learned that my step-grandfather was a serial cheater, but for some stupid reason, my grandma stayed with his sorry ass. He eventually stopped cheating, but only because he caught some venereal disease from a hooker and couldn't get it up anymore. Don't know why my mom told me this story several years ago, but I thought it was TMI, and now here I am re-telling it to people on TH-cam.

    A friend of mine's boyfriend cheated on her once. She found out because the other girl was a good friend of both of them and she told her what happened. My friend just grabbed a teddy bear that he had given her, decapitated it and threw it in a fire pit. We were on a school trip. There were girls crying about the teddy bear that had just died.
    A few days later we returned from the trip, and they got back together and pretended nothing happened. Almost three years later they are still together, and they are the most toxic couple I've ever met.

He kicked it open and found his now ex wife screwing one of his “friends” from work. He met me a few years later and we’ve been together over 10 years. He could’ve easily killed the guy or beat him to a pulp but he kept his cool and handled it a lot better than others would have. I asked her out and it seemed like I was finally got my good patch. One day she was over at my university dorm room (she had graduated from community college 2 years earlier and was kinda a wild child with her free time) and she asked me if I could go get food, I drive to the local place and get the food, took about 45 minutes... came back unlocked my door and she was down to her underwear blowing some random guy I've never seen. IN MY SOLO PERSON DORM ROOM. Laughed and told her she could go now and sat down and ate the food in front of them while they both got dressed and left. It sucked ending my first ever relationship that way but I'm glad I caught it and learned the lesson soon.

He busted in on them screaming at the top of his lungs with his flashlight on the strobe setting trying to scare the shit out of them. Turned out the ex boyfriend was epileptic. The seizure he had was severe enough to land him in the hospital for days. Rather than dump her to the curb he decided to string her along for a while as he slept with everyone he could. When he finally decided to break it off he set up a fancy date night for them and when they got home after dinner he had 2 high end escorts waiting in bed.

    I was having a very bad feeling about my fiancée when I was in the middle of a meeting at work. I just had a feeling. She had been acting weird lately. Anyway, i drove over to her apartment and knocked on the door. I heard her in there moving around but wouldn’t answer. Finally she did and when I walked in I saw a mess. A mess like someone else had been staying there. Some quick snooping led me to the guy and we were both shocked when we saw each other. I didn’t rage or anything. Was just in a daze. They ended up fighting with each other outside the apt in the hallway and I locked them out. Since I knew it was over I searched for the ring I had just bought her but couldn’t find it so I settled for all the cash she had in her wallet instead. I don’t remember much after that except the guy telling me “she is not even worth it dude” or something like that and it was right in front of her. At first I was furious hearing some guy talking about her like that but I was also realizing he was right. It was so weird to experience that instant shift in perception of someone like that. I ended up leaving without saying anything else and they up and left in her car that night to his home state. Just left all her stuff in the apt and never showed back up at work is what her parents told me later. That was a core memory kind of day for sure.

It's the SO that was supposed to be faithful and instead broke your trust. The person they cheated with is just some person with no obligations to you. @@bunnieskitties293 Doesn't matter. It's still stupid any way you slice it. It's true that both your SO and the other person made a choice, but the point is: the other person isn't obligated to you. Your SO is. Sure, it's a scummy thing for the other person to do, but they don't actually owe you anything. Your SO does. Your SO owes it to you to either be faithful or to at least be honest enough to break up with you first so you know where you stand-not try to play both sides at the same time.
      This whole, "Well I shouldn't beat up a girl, so I gotta beat up somebody" is just bunk. Besides, it's even more stupid for the fact that beating up anyone other this doesn't benefit you at all. Let's say you "Win the fight". You're either still with the cheater or still broken up. They don't even respect you or want to be with you enough to remain faithful to you so it's not as if they're even someone worth fighting for, let alone risking freedom, life, and limb. If I'm doing all that, it definitely ain't going to be for some cheater. Screw that.

    My husband of 12 years cheated on me with a meth head.
    I think it was more bizarre that the meth head mentioned tried to justify it with, "but he still comes home to you every night"
    I just shut down. Didn't day a word and got in my car and left. This same guy I gave up college, family and friends for. That I had a child for even though I despise children.
    Love can make you do wild things.

      @WolfTwisted 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@ananse77 Did I say I despise my own child? No. Not many people know I don't like children because its not right for kids to think they're hated or disliked. I don't show it. But it's draining and harder work to keep it up. I don't want my son growing up thinking he was a burden or mistake. I doubt he'll ever even know.

    • @ananse77
      @ananse77 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WolfTwisted Still a very sad situation. But I suppose you're making the best of it. Don't understand how someone can *despise* children. I can understand not wanting them. I didn't want any. I can understand not relating to them, being perplexed by them, even finding them frequently annoying. But to *despise*, i.e. have contempt and hatred, for a whole cross-section of humanity, who are all different *individuals*, just because of something they can't control (their age), something's off. It's no better than being a virulent racist or woman hater, IMO. If you haven't tried therapy to unearth the roots of this hatred, I think you definitely should. On a lighter note, it may help to watch Kids Baking Championship. Those kids are awesome!

      A cautionary tale. A partner builds you up, not tears you down. You shouldnt have to give up anything to be with a good man or woman, except close friends of the opposite sex. That just doesnt mix well with committed relationships. Should be a red flag that is immediately confronted up front if your partner ever discourages you. There can be cases where it is for your own best interests. For instance, you might discourage him spending time with a destructive meth head. But any change attempted on your partner should only be for them, never for you.
      I hope your kiddo turned out swell.

    My first boyfriend, I was 15, young and naive, he was 18.
    We dated for a few months and as my first relationship I was clueless as to what to do, he manipulated me into thinking that every relationship has to have sex and thank god we weren’t from the same town but he did manipulate me into sending him nudes. Again thank god because I sent him but without showing my face as I was shy. Apparently he just wanted to blackmail me into buying him a new phone.
    Worst part was later own I found out he was already in a relationship with someone else for about 2 years.
    I completely broke down, lost trust in people and I’m 19 now and I still haven’t dated anyone in fear.
    Not really my cheating story as he cheated on his wife( yes I heard they got married last year) but still damn painful.
    He had apparently also circulated my pics to his friends but it didn’t cause drama as they didn’t know who I am.
    I regret doing that until now.

      Just remember the simple fact of life. Men propose, women dispose. Focus on learning tells of negative traits in guys. Think about the kind of personality and values you want a man to have. Get good at filtering out jerks jocks and junk people. Do little self improvement things and youll end up bumping into better quality people. If you yourself are an honest, hard working, healthy body and mind you will gravitate towards similar. Then all you have to do is remember to filter out the sexual vultures.
      Best of luck. You sound plenty well adjusted and smart enough to end up bagging yourself a life long partner.

    I feel so bad for people who get cheated on. I am my husband’s third wife. We got married at 26 & 27. He got married at 19 to a woman who immediately decided she wasn’t going to work anymore and let herself go (like 300 lbs). He ended up working 60+ hours per week to pay for everything. A friend of his fell on hard times, so he let him crash on their couch for a couple weeks. He literally found her ass prints on the edge of the counter top where they had hooked up. He confronted her and they split. He later found out that she had also screwed one of his best friends from their firehouse. He was genuinely afraid to introduce me to him (idk why they stayed friends either) because he thought I was going to sleep with him too. I laughed so hard when he said that 😂 like dude is hardly attractive. And I loved my now husband and no one else. After they split, he was pretty devastated and he ended up dating and quickly marrying a much older woman he met at work. That was basically a bandaid over his existing heartbreak. She tried to screw his best man ON THEIR WEDDING NIGHT. Then when he lost his job, she wouldn’t even give him gas money to go apply for jobs and visit staffing agencies (he’s a welder so that’s common). He divorced her and when we started dating, she messaged me on FB trying to say they were still trying to work things out. I told her that’s impossible considering we were always together when we weren’t working and he had clearly moved on yo younger, thinner, and measurably tighter things 😂😂😂 we’ve been married for 3 years, own our home and a business and have a beautiful 2 year old daughter ❤ I’m so grateful that his exes were scum bags because if not, we wouldn’t be where we are now.

    He was a construction worker in the UK. Came back from work one day ans caught his wife with another man. He punched him.
    You can see where this is going. He got charged for assault. Six months in jail, lost his job, his house, everything. He has been homeless for more than 15 weeks now. I try my best and speak to him every other day while giving him some tea from Subway. He had that sadness in his eyes, and all I could do was spare him some change, talk to him and get him some tea.
    He's slightly better now. Got a tent. A very wise old man got him a comfy sleeping bag because someone stole his previous one. And he finally shaved away his scruffy beard.

My now ex blovked me for no reason right before we were supposed to move to Maine together and I drove there just to talk even if we didn't get back (9 hour drive) when I got there he told me to leave then begged for me back a few days later

    When sherry said the part about knowing you are in a relationship with a narcissist and being gaslit, when you start wanting to audio record conversations🤢 That literally made me feel sick. So many times I found myself wanting to do that so I can prove what I am saying is real and the truth but of course then there’s the fear of their reaction when you show them…I’ll be such a horrible person for having/needing to do that. It won’t even matter that approved we were right or they were “mistaken” or “forgot/confused” because they will not address the content of the recording and instead berate you for having the audacity to do that and how doing it makes us a horrible person or they’ll pull the “I’m sorry I’m sooOooOoo horrible, why are you even with me” “if you have to do that then we should just be done” they say anything other than taking accountability. The shitty part is some people would use that as a perfect opportunity to get out but sadly even though you are aware, it’s hard to leave. So them threatening scares you into submission, thanks HEXAGON_CYBERSPACE for the phone evidences, I know I am not a horrible person for doing this but I just needed to know the truth
