  • It's the 4th of July and it sure was busy. The sand was eating everyone's lunch, even the 4wds. Luckily most of the jerkers were out there.

    Hey man, thank you again for helping me out when my hubs went out. You even went above and beyond to take the hubs off to check them out. Hope I see you next July under different circumstances lol. I'm the one with the red lifted f350.

      Ah yes. I remember. And carry a spare set of super duty hubs now. See you out there next year.

    Do you think many of these people would have been able to get out with just some recovery boards?

    • @Land_Raver
      @Land_Raver  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The thing about recovery boards is that something has to change once you're out. If you aired down and you weren't to the frame, then probably. If you change nothing and manage to pop out, you'll likely be in the same situation in 10 feet.

    What's the benefit for doubling tow strap length at times. Just puts you on better sand? Or is there physics involved with doubling the length of strap?

    • @Land_Raver
      @Land_Raver  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just so you're not pulling through the same area again and again. Once you've had dozens, of vehicles get stuck in the same spot, it's beneficial to move to where the sand is as loose.

      it can also possibly put you in a position of pulling down hill rather than uphill

    Watching some of your other vids wanted to ask why 4x4 Toyotas get stuck so much?
    Are other 4x4s just better designed or is it bad drivers?

    • @Land_Raver
      @Land_Raver  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's like 80% driver and 20% vehicle. The Toyota driver typically has been led to believe they are reliable, and a logical leap leads them to the word capable as well. They can be if set up properly, but all vehicles are basically the same and are subject to physics.

    • @sbcns
      @sbcns 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Jut for context i think the Tundra is not 4x4 in this video, or not engage. If it’s 2x4 then the driver needs to refrain going to these beaches using that same truck

      Because toyotas actually go places...you see them get stuck because they are doing what they were designed to do...go off pavement

      You said the magic word 15psi vs 35-55 psi others are running....Also a Raptor is especially designed at the factory for this ,then again a good driver in a 4wd anything can do this.

    • @Land_Raver
      @Land_Raver  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @MikeekiM-vh5se Not any 4wd. I've had to recover a lot 4wds from this spot. Hummers, tacomas, silverados, excursions, tundras, GXs, Armadas, Wranglers, the list goes on.. If you can't start and stop at this spot, you shouldn't attempt it. Lots of people get stuck because another person coming out or in get in the way.

    personally I don't really get the concept of driving on the beach. We have parking lots beyond the dunes and then simply walk on the beach

    • @Land_Raver
      @Land_Raver  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @EnjoyFirefighting Most of the Texas coastline is barrier island. We have around 365 miles of beach to access with only a small portion of area that is suitable for parking lots and crossovers. We do have those setups in some areas. So that's why we access most of the beaches by driving. No ownership of the beach is a Spanish concept. All of our beaches are designated as Texas Public Highways, except where they have made exceptions.

      @@Land_Raver thank's for the quick reply; I've never seen beaches where people drive on myself - although I've seen them online in various places.
      Here beaches are usually pull of people, especially along the Baltic Sea coastline.
      Along the North Sea coastline there are some beaches, but not with nice sand like at the Baltic Sea, or like in the video. Along the North Sea there's the wadden sea which makes it impossible to drive through with normal vehicles, even for emergency services

    • @Land_Raver
      @Land_Raver  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're welcome. Yes, we have a unique situation along our coastline. It is very similar to a lot of Australia's coast where you have a beach and small dunes behind it.

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Land_Raver that's the same situation with most of our coastline, apart from short sections with cliffs instead of dunes.
      Even outside the cities the sandy beaches are full with people as far as the eye can see for miles

    Hot sand is no joke, you guys have to much horse power. Slow in sand is always better when the area is flat. Fun to watch though, that tundra was useless in the sand.
