I was one of those that questioned the cost of travelling to the cost of staying home. You’ve done an excellent job in this “budget update” in relation to dollars spent for not travelling, as apposed to life on the road. Obviously everyone’s living and spending habits will differ, but you showing that it’s not quite as expensive as most would believe it to be. Keep up the good work, and continue to enjoy your time travelling.
Thank you for those very kind words and encouragement. Really appreciated. Your comments on the first video were right on point and stuck with me, so I am glad we could do that comparison. Thanks for your inspiration and for the well wishes. Happy travels
Great informative break down. We have just started travelling from Perth up into the NT. Interesting to see your costings. We have had a couple of unforeseen maintenance repair costs but starting to get more into a pattern now for spending etc. Good on you for going dry, one of the biggest challenges I am finding is having a beer or two at night. At home I can not drink during the week but I find travelling every day is a weekend. Keep the videos coming, great stuff.
Cheers for the kind words and support on the non-drinking. I hope you have a fantastic trip up north. There some beautiful spots all the way up there. Hope you get something from the video to help you in your journey, safe travels and thanks for watching. Cheers Pete
What a shame I missed meeting you, we have just left Willare after working there for 4 months! Have really enjoyed following your journey, this was a great episode👏🏼👏🏼
That’s a shame. Would have been nice to meet you. Wow, 4 months in Willare. That’s impressive. Hopefully our paths cross somewhere else. Thanks for watching and your support. Cheers
Good summary! We found very similar budget “impingement” over the nearly 10 years we towed our van around our great country (4 full laps plus multiple shorter trips) We were set up for off grid from the start and averaged just $10 per night for accomodation costs over the first few years…so…$300 per month. But we found that we were really only using caravan parks for the laundry….doh! Most towns have a laundrette, same cost as in the caravan park, but without the camping fee….winner! So the accomodation costs just got smaller.
Awesome news about the caravan purchase. Welcome to the club. 👍👍 Glad you got something out of the video chat. I hope it helps you in some way or gets you out there earlier and/or longer. Cheers
Fantastic way to justify the expense of traveling which by the numbers stacked up pretty well to just staying home . We find similar to you guys extra fuel ⛽ is the bulk of the difference so that’s the expense of Caravanning 👍
Hi and thanks for watching. We haven’t changed the phone/data costs from our normal plans to travel, so they weren’t included. We haven’t switched to Starlink either (as yet but who knows the future hey). In regards to utilities, we have those costs still as our daughter is in our house, so no change. Everyone’s circumstances will differ, but we can share those relevant parts of ours where we can. Cheers
Please not another will i stay or will i go, if people want travel go travelling you might not get another chance, don't listen to others oplnion just do it, some stay in parks everywhere they go others camp free, all different costs
Fantastic video, very informative
Glad it was helpful!

A lot of the cost will depend on your style of travel.
Thanks for sharing your experience and thanks for watching.

Thanks very interesting, is there a reason you didn't include utilities and phone/data costs?
