Love seeing a haul, and any pantry set up. That room looks great! Just so clean and organized. My storage areas look like war torn countries (project for another day). Been a prepper since my late teens, back in the 90s. It's as simple as adding a little bit here and there every time I go to the store. Got me through a lot of situations (job loss, less hours, car breakdowns, bigger sudden expenses, weather, power outages, illness, injuries, and sheer laziness). Shopping sales, especially. Rotating. Funny that you mentioned someone thought you were showing off money. How weird. If anything, it shows how it saves money over long run. Anyway, love the idea of an off premise location. I wont ask for details of course. I have considered some options in that regard. Eats at me to have everything in one spot. I store a lot of similar products, just in the typical sizes found in store. If I had a family or had inkling that there would be more mouths to feed, then the big bulk cans are very appealing. Though beans would work for me as I always make a huge pot of soup or chili and often incorporate several cans of beans. Hmm, ya got me reconsidering! I go through a lot of pumpkin (or canned butternut squash), not so much for the pumpkin aspect, but as a way to bulk up soups & chowders, add fiber and nutrients, yet doesnt impart a noticeable flavor. Rich and hearty. Thanks & take care!
Thanks so much for sharing a bit about you and the things you prep! 😁 Love hearing from like minded folks. I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch & comment, It really helps. I hope you have a wonderful day/evening 💛🙏😁
Re dollar tree: a couple things I prefer to buy there. The quarts of shelf stable milk. I use it all the time. It so good and so convenient. The bottled salad dressing. Yes they're smaller bottles but as a single person, I can use these with no waste and can get a variety of kinds so I dont get sick of one flavor before it gets old in the fridge. I stock up on tarps, bungee cords and zip ties there.
I have a GFS close to my home. Whenever I go there I do buy in bulk. It was less expensive to buy number 10 cans of tomatoes than to can them myself. Also, the spices are a better value than small containers. Cheese is sold in 5 pound bricks. That is definitely a better deal. Learn the store and plan. As far and meat and beans go, buy a pressure canner and do it myself when you get meat on sale. The beans are absolutely delicious. Meat, beans and meat stock are Very Easy to can and it adds up quickly. Jars are not cheap, but they will last you a lifetime if you take care of them. Once you get a taste of home canned, you will never go back. You have to get a mindset of Long Term. God Bless all of you and good luck 😊
I used to buy sauerkraut in cans, but when they started making it in jars, I found the jar kind so much better. In the old days, the sauerkraut absorbed the tinny flavor of the cans. Perhaps the new cans have more protection so the flavor of the can doesn’t bleed into the kraut. Be sure to taste it before stocking large quantities.
I prefer the jars as well, cans these days do have a plastic type of coating but the jars I can reuse them. I figuretye cans, in an emergency they'll come in handy. 😁👍
The sauerkraut is awesome on smoked polish sausages on the grill! Just slice the sausage halfway open and stuff with the kraut and wrap with bacon and seal with toothpicks and grill as usual. I usually brush some barbecue sause on them then serve on a bun! Delicious
I have those good metal shelves too. I ended up getting the medium clear totes and was able to use more space. Thin shelf wood helps to stable supplies too. Love your pantry space.😊😊😊
@GreyManPrepping I meant I bought medium clear containers at Sam's and labeled them. I didn't do inserts either. I turn them sideways on shelves. They hold my snacks, knorrs packets, etc. Fit perfectly.
One of the negatives of living in my rural area is not having large discount stores, besides WalMart. But, all the positives out weighs that bunches 👍 I can't dedicate a whole room to my preps, however, I do manage to spread my preps in every nook and cranny. I dehydrate my ground beef. It lasts for several years and is great in salads, soups, tacos etc. Thanks Grey for showing your haul. Remember y'all to Pray, Plan, Prep
I agree with ya JRC, I'd love to move to a much more rural area, which is the plan here over the next few years God willing. Luckily all the preps will be coming with 🤣 God bless you and the family 🙏
Great haul! You found some awesome deals! I love that sausage gravy with biscuits. I've seen you tube videos of people recanning the #10 cans into quarts and pints and pressure canning them. You could also dehydrate or freeze dry them. Or make some black bean burgers and freeze/freeze dry them.
@GreyManPrepping l would get the #10 can of black beans. It also depends on the size of your family. You can make Cuban black beans and rice, black bean soup, add to salads and burritos, black bean hummus, make brownies with them, and as someone mentioned already black bean burgers. You can't go wrong Greyman.
I get the # 10 cans of beans to have for a backup if I have family staying with us and need a larger meal plan. I have had one start to get some spots on the lid no dents. So I cleaned it off opened and dehydrated them for instant beans or meals in a jar. It all depends on your budget and space for storage. Great video.
I could see the canned beans being used for the old cowboy stew. Have a Dutch oven cooking for days on end just keep it hot and adding to it to feed who comes by. Otherwise I see meals with beans everyday that week you open it. Bean chip dip, bean stew, bean and cheese quesadillas, beans on toast. I enjoyed seeing what the beef actually looked like out of the can since I've never purchased that. Instant potatoes are universal for thickening stews as well as creating a side dish or even making potato buns.
Hi Grey.... This video showed up in my feed.... In regards to the #10 can of black beans, my suggestion would be to open, rinse, drain and then dehydrate and vacuum seal in whatever portion fits your family. I don't know if you're familiar with Rain Country Homestead but Mrs Heidi cooks dry beans and then dehydrates them... She has a video on it... Hope this helps I'll also buy the large cans of green beans and dehydrate them great for soups/stews🤗🤗🙏 Kendra
Evening Grey. Man i have been so busy the last two weeks, recertifications and new certifications for work....yes they come with a very nice raise, so i will be able to throw a bit more money to the country place and get the old cattle stock pond turned into a fish pond. Yes i am always stacking and preparing. Looking for a good used rv for my oldest grandson, he is finally going to move back to Texas and onto the property along with my middle daughter and her family. It will give my son-in-law some help around the farm getting it into a more self sufficient bit of property. Anyway, my middle daughter has taken a shine to the goats and has even started producing butter and starting to learn about cheese making. Anyway....please keep up the repackaging of foods for long term storage, there are many who dont know where to even begin. 👍
I always enjoy watching your pantry hauls and I hope you keep doing them! Looking forward to see how you have the med pantry setup! always like getting ideas from others to help myself and others in my family out. Luv ya Grey! ❤
Those black beans can be turned into tones of things. Chili, bean burgers( I know but if it's all you got), mix in rice, &if you're feeding many, they can help stretch things..
I love Gordon's Food Service. I have one near me. It is large quantities but I need some things like that. I separate and vacuum seal lots of it. Even though I store up, It is still a working pantry and prep pantry. I use Lowe's buckets as well.
I am a new sub, from the show you did with Nutrient Survival! I used to buy the Country Sausage and Gravy on Amazon, for $10 a dozen. But then, the price sky rocketed all of a sudden, and now, the local stores barely have it, if they have it at all.
Hello, Derek 👋 Thank you for the support! Yep, my wife was telling me a similar story and prices seem to continue to rise. Hence if I find it on sale I'll grab it up 😁👍
Thanks Greyman. Those big cans are great to dehydrate then vacuum seal. They rehydrate easily in hot water. I like the Valley chicken. If I found it at a good deal I would buy as many as I could of it. I use Better Than Bouillon in the individual packets. One of our salvage food stores was going out of business and I bought all he had at 10 cents per pack. Each pack makes 1 quart. I still have more than 4 quart jars packed full of beef, chicken, and veggie. Unfortunately I ran out of the ham and turkey. I had to buy it in jars to restock my pantry. My hubby still likes the cubes like you have so we have lots of them too. I've never had the canned sausage gravy. I need to get a can to try. Also I want to try the canned bulk sausage. I've heard mixed reports on it. Much Love ❤
I have been using BTB (better than boillion) for years and have been wishing it came in a powder form. Their website does not list it. Where did you buy it? Thank you.
@@tennesseeterri It wasn't powder but the regular BTB in individual packets that seasons 1 qt of liquid. I bought it at a salvage store many years ago when they went out of business. I don't know if BTB still makes it in individual packets or not. They came 3 to a box and they are still good after all these years. Much Love ❤
That's an interesting twist 😁 You wouldn't happen to have the recipe? You're more than welcome to email me. It's in the description down below. 👍 Thank you for the suggestion 💛
Can't hurt to have a few of those large cans of beans!! Great for a crowd and maybe for sharing later on!! Love those emergency lights, what a great idea!!
Good looking pantry. Just a warning where you have those buckets stacked. The lids will bust through and cause the stack to topple and cause a big mess. I've had this happen stacked 3 high. Fair warning
Thank you, and appreciate the warning. We were planning to put a 1x6x8 between each stack for added stability. That should in theory prevent that from happening 🤞
I think of my animals quite a bit. I do purchase their own specialty food, but I plan for them. I make about 1/2 the food the dogs eat, cooked rice with meat and vegetable scraps. Im growing amaranth, corn and buckwheat because thatll feed my chickens and goats. They can eat the seed heads and the whole plants. I havent found anything I could make that my cats would eat.
Hi Grey, very envious of your prepping room, I live in the north east of Scotland near Aberdeen ,we have enough food to last approx 8 months , but, we cant get any size 10 cans of food., love watching you channel.
Hey Bonnie, Do they have any public restaurant supply stores in your area? This is kind of what this store is. Luckily it's open to the public and there are no member fees like other bulk places are.
Sweet haul. Have always seen sauerkraut in the cans. It tastes just like the kraut in the glass jars. My opinion. Just bought local bread and butter corn from a local farmer cooked it all up cut it off the cob and have 2 debydrators full. More in the fridge to be dehydrated when these are done probably a total then of 6 dehydrators worth. Easy useable for winter. Potatoe flakes are a must there is a lot you can use them for not just mashed potatoes. Thanks for sharing your pantry with the world if you know what I mean by that comment. 😂 Bless you and your family Grey 🙏❤️🙏
Im new to the channel!!!! We sort of started preping 15 or so yrs ago but stopped. Now, we are moving from our native state to TX so we can have land, have a cow, chickens, a large garden and room for my 5 German Shepherds to play. I have had kraut in from the can many times. Growing up, that was the only way it was sold when i was a kid. I also used to make my own in my Huge crock. The kids complained lol But they are grown now!!!! Sam's often has the potato flakes in a HUGE container similar to a giant waxed milk carton. It is a 3.2 lb container and it is under $8.82? (Under $9) It is the Hungry Jack brand and they are pretty good. What i do is go to the spice section at Sam's Club and get some sore of spice....Garlic a Parm, Sour Cream & Onion or something like that. Add that, butter and milk. That spices up your instant potatoes. If i do mash real potatoes, i only do half of what i used to. I add instant and whip it with my mixer. (Im got tired of being the Martha Stewart mom and training dogs all day when my boys were growing up). They can't tell there are instant potatoes in it. Especially when i add spices to it. Those little envelopes of the flavored instant potatoes are EXPENSIVE for what you get considering you can make your own. 😊😊 🌯 🥔 🍄 🥔 🫑 🥔 🧄 🥔 🧅 🥔 🧈 🥔 🧀 🥔 🧂 🥔 🥛
Hello 👋 and welcome to the channel! 😁 Thanks so much for sharing a bit about yourself as well as some of your methods. That is a great deal on the spuds. I agree with what you mention. I wonder if folks understand that some foods we store or prep are substitutions for certain situations that may arise, like a bad harvest. Spices can really make a difference. I hope you have a great weekend. 🙏💛
@GreyManPrepping thnx so much. You too 🐾❤️🐾 My grandmother lived through the depression and pounded into me how to survive on nothing. How to grow food, make your own fertilizer, conserve water, preserve your food, and be thrifty. My dad taught me to hunt ( I'm the oldest, and I think he wanted a boy but got a girl....lol). My husband grew up on a farm and was an Eagle scout, so between the 2 of us....I think we have the skills to do ok. We are always looking to learn more. He has taken defense courses and weapons training, I do protection training with my dogs. We are CPR Cert, I have a little more .... can do stitches, minor surface stuff to injuries like cut to remove a foreign object, freshen tissue for good blood supply for better healing. I used to breed German Shepherds so I know that from top to bottom including how to do artificial insemination. Farm animals won't be any different. But we still need to get to TX. That's the biggest hurdle. We are packing as fast as we can. After almost 30 yrs in the same house, you accumulate a lot of crap. We don't need a fancy house, just something livable with land and water. We will get there!!!! 💪 I am excited to sit and watch your video with my husband.
I wish we had a GFS location in my area in Mississippi. There's some in other states around me, maybe one day they'll bring a few locations into my state closer to my county.
Been getting alot of butter recently since has been on sale at different stores and freezing it. Around 2.99/lb can beat it. Gotta shop the sales now days. Great haul brother, keep up the great vids! Coupon clipping hauls are great to watch also!
Thanks for sharing! We freeze a lot of butter as well, then Rudy got me stocking Ghee as well. I do use digital coupons, the paper ones are starting to become scarce in my neck of the woods. Have a great weekend 😁👍
I'm getting some good tips as you show us your hauls and items on the shelves. Quick question Grey, my vision pretty bad and it's the reason I'm asking: I don't see any hand written dates with a magic marker for instance on your store bought canned and packaged items regardless of size. Since I'm not able to see dates, how to you know which to use first if no dates of your own like dates you bought each item? Thanks a bunch and I enjoy tuning in to your channel. I use a fine point permanent marker on everything I buy to the front label or the top, depending on the shape and the way I have to stack them....except for things that never expire. Enjoy your weekend! ☺
Hello Sheba 😁👋 So I use a variety of methods for tracking my dates. From colored stickers on the bottom that correspond to my list. I do use a permanent marker on something's but I'm going to be using some new methods here soon which I'll discuss in a future video. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend! 🙏
I love GFS. Haven't been to one since we moved. Their canned smoke pork is really good. Love Keystone Meats and their website. They have a lot of good recipes on it too. Nice stock up
I'll definitely be doing a video on that topic 😁👍 I love using tempura batter on my veggies & chicken. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment 🙏
I bought 12 cases from them! Best purchase I ever made! I bought them about a year and a half ago. The only problem is they didn't come with plastic lids! You will need to buy some lids for them
Love the videos ! I’m trying to make my own can food as Much as possible ! I’m canning potatoes and carrots and even if I have to buy frozen food at the store I’ll buy it and pressure can it ! Making beef soups in canning jars with beef from the local farmer … The most we can have he better … any food is better than nothing ! Literally ready to just fix my house the best I can and sell ASAP as is and not take another year fixing things … so I can move to a house with a basement and have an actual proper pantry … literally have can food all over the kitchen floor in boxes and have so much more to can… Don’t forget to also stock up on clothes and extra shoes and linens… never know when the power will be out for a long period of time and can’t wash things … canning jars are an important investment too !!! That’s an impressive pantry … I’m working towards variety but getting what I can when I can … it’s definitely a long process when on a budget month to month
Agreed, I always find it intriguing how much more your standard grocery store charges for things vs some of these supply stores and bulk purchasing stores do. Thank you for the visit! Have a great weekend! 😁👍

This is one of the best prepper pantry videos I’ve seen. Great work and information! Thank you.
I truly appreciate that! Thank you 🙏🙏
@@GreyManPrepping I just noticed your shirt in the video. My husband was one of the 22 a day 23 years ago. Thank you for acknowledging them! ❤️🇺🇸

Hey Grey! Looks like good haul! 🎉 What a great store share! I was amazed! Hope you meet your ceiling goal soon!
Thanks so much and yep I hope to have it to the rafters soon 😁🤘
Thanks for sharing Grey 😃 I would like to see the rice & wheat being ground up & used 👍🏻 I like that brand of chicken! 😋
I figured that would be a great video and help folks with some ideas! 😁
Great items! I hope to get the dollar tree haul done this coming week 😁👍
Thank you for sharing your perspective Pamela 😁🙏 God bless!
Delicious
Sounds great! 😁💛
I have those good metal shelves too. I ended up getting the medium clear totes and was able to use more space. Thin shelf wood helps to stable supplies too. Love your pantry space.😊😊😊
Great idea, thank you. I saw the plastic inserts but after trying one it didn't do what I expected. Thanks for the tip 😁👍
@GreyManPrepping I meant I bought medium clear containers at Sam's and labeled them. I didn't do inserts either. I turn them sideways on shelves. They hold my snacks, knorrs packets, etc. Fit perfectly.
@@tdog4240 Oh ok, thank you for the clarification 😊
You can pressure can anything in large can from beans to vegetables to fruits
Great point Bobbie 😁👍
Excellent choices and yes I agree find a deal and try new things. you may never know what you may find that you or others may enjoy in your household.
Absolutely CSP 😁👍 Thank you for the support as always! 🙏
One of the negatives of living in my rural area is not having large discount stores, besides WalMart. But, all the positives out weighs that bunches 👍
I can't dedicate a whole room to my preps, however, I do manage to spread my preps in every nook and cranny.
Thank you and black bean burgers sound great! 😁
@@siber20s these are great ideas! Thank you 😁🙏
I get the # 10 cans of beans to have for a backup if I have family staying with us and need a larger meal plan. I have had one start to get some spots on the lid no dents. So I cleaned it off opened and dehydrated them for instant beans or meals in a jar. It all depends on your budget and space for storage. Great video.
Thank you, I've been pondering about dehydrating some beans myself. Truly appreciate your idea 😁👍
Those are great ideas! Thank you 😁💛
you could always re-can the black beans into smaller portions 1/2 pint or pint jars
Thanks Thomas for the suggestion 😁👍
Just freeze the leftover beans in smaller portions
Hello Kendra 😁👋 Thats a great channel, I'll definitely have to watch that video. Sounds like a great idea thank you. 🙏
That's great to hear brother! Having family close is always nice and will do with the storage videos 👍
For a family of two, smaller cans works best for us.
The makes logical sense. As long as your doing what you can to provide for your family, that's all that matters 😁💛
@@GreyManPrepping thank you.
shredded cheddar freezes very well
Agreed, We have our large blocks in the freezer, especially when they are on sale we like to pick up a few extra 😁👍

Great pantry the only can I ever had leak was Sauerkraut thanks for the video take care.

That's the plan folks really like these types of videos. Hopefully folks will enjoy the medical pantry as well 😁💛
Pumpkin soup is pretty good too.
Thank you Sophia! That sounds yummy! I love all things pumpkin 🎃 😁
Those black beans can be turned into tones of things. Chili, bean burgers( I know but if it's all you got), mix in rice, &if you're feeding many, they can help stretch things..
Absolutely and great suggestions 😁👍
I would suggest people start looking at the ingredient labels CLOSELY, many products now have Bio-engineered ingredients.
Your absolutely right! I have something in the works to discuss that as well 😁😆
The #10 can of beans - you can always throw the unused beans in the freezer
Thanks for the suggestion, Al 😁👍
I love Gordon's Food Service. I have one near me. It is large quantities but I need some things like that. I separate and vacuum seal lots of it. Even though I store up, It is still a working pantry and prep pantry. I use Lowe's buckets as well.
As they say Nancy great minds think alike 😁💛
You can use cane sugar to make brown sugar or powdered sugar!
Great point Maggie, thank you for sharing 😁🙏
I have that sausage and gravy in my pantry right now!! Hits the spot when you are hungry for it.
Nice! I figured it's a nice comfort food when needed. 😁👍
Much Love ❤
Always love to hear from you Jan 💛 Man 10 cents that was an amazing deal! Much love & God bless 🙏🙏
Much Love ❤

I love your thoughts on what you are buying, how it will be stored and how you might use it. Thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much Sharon😁🙏 I hope you have an amazing weekend 💛
Good looking pantry. Just a warning where you have those buckets stacked. The lids will bust through and cause the stack to topple and cause a big mess. I've had this happen stacked 3 high. Fair warning
Thank you, and appreciate the warning. We were planning to put a 1x6x8 between each stack for added stability. That should in theory prevent that from happening 🤞
Biscuits and gravy is the bomb!

Very smart, the pet food these days is horrible and the good stuff is just so expensive
That big can of black beans could be turned into so many things including brownies and chip's!
Yes, on the sausage gravy, i tried one recently.🧚♂️
Awesome! Thank you for the feedback 😁👍
Hi Grey, very envious of your prepping room, I live in the north east of Scotland near Aberdeen ,we have enough food to last approx 8 months , but, we cant get any size 10 cans of food., love watching you channel.

You are so welcome! It's a great place to shop for bulk items as well as a few other things 😁👍
Would be awesome if we had one in Oregon!
Hey Bonnie, Do they have any public restaurant supply stores in your area? This is kind of what this store is. Luckily it's open to the public and there are no member fees like other bulk places are.
🤔Gonna need to check out the canned sausage gravy. I'm the only one in my house that likes it, and its really hard to make a small batch of it.
Biscuits and gravy fan here! Great content!
That is great to hear and thank you Erica 😁🙏

Great value Buttery instant potatoes are same price but better
Im new to the channel!!!! We sort of started preping 15 or so yrs ago but stopped. Now, we are moving from our native state to TX so we can have land, have a cow, chickens, a large garden and room for my 5 German Shepherds to play.
I have had kraut in from the can many times. Growing up, that was the only way it was sold when i was a kid. I also used to make my own in my Huge crock. The kids complained lol
But they are grown now!!!!
Hey Grey. I have a freeze drier. I buy those big cans and freeze dry the contents.
Man I hope to have a freezer dryer one day here shortly in the near future. Those things pay for themselves. 😁👍

@GreyManPrepping thanks, you as well. Yep everything digital now. Only way to save nowadays

Making beef soups in canning jars with beef from the local farmer …
The most we can have he better … any food is better than nothing !
Literally ready to just fix my house the best I can and sell ASAP as is and not take another year fixing things … so I can move to a house with a basement and have an actual proper pantry … literally have can food all over the kitchen floor in boxes and have so much more to can…
Don’t forget to also stock up on clothes and extra shoes and linens… never know when the power will be out for a long period of time and can’t wash things … canning jars are an important investment too !!! That’s an impressive pantry … I’m working towards variety but getting what I can when I can … it’s definitely a long process when on a budget month to month
