As an international collector. You wouldn't belive how much frustrating this hobby is for me. Only shop that sells to me cheaply is bbts and with the shipping costs. The cheapest I can get figures is between 32 - 40$ per figure which is frustrating, add to the fact that Rex is US only (why?!) so I paid 44 including shipping and barely. So having these international releases helps a bit in that. Really wanted to get luke. He is 50 and above for me from everywhere so now I have finally the ability to get him
I feel your pain. I live in South Africa. Thankfully the BBTS pile-of-loot makes shipping a little easier to swallow, but yeah, I end up paying the equivalent of around double for my Black Series figures compared to a US collector. The worst part is trying to get hold of the annoying "exclusives" of figures that I really want. That can be a real pain in the arse.
@@Euanplushstudios the shipping price for my country is 40 ponds. That is ridiculous to say the least. I wish more collectors were in my country but it seam like there is not enough demand for that
What I really hate is Hasbro Pulse exclusives, that’s great when they aren’t in my region, don’t deliver in my region, and when a 3rd party store has them available, they jack the price up.
As a UK viewer speaking for my area - Luke and Obi Wan? Sure. Little more difficult to get my hands on but not impossible. Ashoka and Grogu? I could build a house out them with Kuiil and Greef Kargas as the foundation.
Right! If there were more stores that stocked black series then it'd make sense here but Smyths and a few collector stores isn't enough to get casuals to find these figures and Pulse UK is fine. Also I'd have loved getting that obi-wan but....the 3 pack is better. I wish this archive wave was already out by now
Here in south America we don't get as many products as you do sometimes, but even if you can't get Ashoka or Grogu in stores, they're 13 - 15 dollars on Amazon respectively. In the oder hand, it is really nice to have Luke and Obi Wan since they're quite expensive and there's no way for us to get things like Maul's 3 pack for a reasonable price.
I couldn't believe all the stupid comments i read from fellow Americans about an international release. It was good to finally hear a rational response to this from you guys (compared to the FB & IG typical comments).
I am from Costa Rica (Central America) and the only one that is difficult to get is the Obi Wan Episode 1 figure. There are many Ahsokas and almost no one is paying for the Grogu figure as it is way too expensive for what it is 😱
Well, you guys know me and my story about how hard it was to get TBS figures before Pulse EU expansion. There were all these online stores that for some unknown reason to me did not want to ship to Croatia even though we are an EU member. Because of that, I know how it feels to be in that situation of not being able to get some of these figures. That is why I have no issue with these or any releases and/or re-releases. It's good that they are out there and that fellow collectors can grab them if they need them. I recently saw Ahsoka figure in my local store and thought that it's good that they have her in stock. Someone will be happy to find her there. I really don't see these Archive releases as a problem. I have my opinions on that Grogu release in general but that's just me. Also, that padawan Kenobi was a figure that I really wanted few years back but now I have the SHF one so I'm good. The main thing that bothers me is that "only US" or "only EU" crap. Put these figures out for everyone. Star Wars is a global thing. When it comes to entertainment there are fans all over the world. Don't you want all that money? Or do you just prefer the money coming from US? That's what I'm confused about. If you can't tell, I'm really annoyed by the fact that Fox and deluxe Palps are "US only" re-releases because I'm missing them from my collection. I hope that one day they will be available on Hasbro Pulse EU. But as always, great episode guys. Keep it up!
i also don't get why they cannot put it in all Hasbro Pulse, They did that with recent releases but why not with rereleases? someone there lost their mind. Most recent rereleases "US only" are almost impossible to get in EU. And if it is the price is cosmic :(
Yeah, I'm so sick and tired of being treated like some third world country by UK and US corportions. I don't live in Croatia but the Nordic countries and it's the same for us here. It was the same back in the days of Eaglemoss from UK (after brexit), it's now the same with Hasbro from US and many other such companies too.
They should just stick rereleases in archive packaging. Even if that means making a deluxe archive package just so everything is easy to follow and isn't confusing.
I think PERFECT choices for an Archive release would be Rex (from Black and Red box #59) and Fox. These are excellent examples of what the Archive line should be intended for! - William
As a member of the mexican community, black series is almost impossible to collect at retail. Amazon is just ok not too much stock on high demand figures, but exclusives need to be imported by third parties with a higher price tag
In Canada, interestingly, we get everything from this to the rereleases. NA getting the rereleases and International getting handed just this is hilarious. It reminds me of Squidward looking out the window at SpongeBob and Patrick having fun. They should have archived Lando as well, just for the hilarity that would have ensued. What’s interesting is that StarActionFigures has seen the 2025 lineup and has stated that this wave as a turning point for the line might be a talking point worth discussing on Sunday, Justin.
Hi guys, interesting thoughts. Speaking for France only, finding Black Series figures isn’t difficult, especially since Hasbro Pulse EU deliver there too. Amazon fr is also a good choice. Also, some independent and specialist resellers propose most of the US exclusives as Target or Walmart (not the last Rex and Fox re-release unfortunatly!), sometimes even for a while after they’re out of stock in the United States. BS retail prices are the same to around 10%-15% higher VAT included than in the US, not to mention the cost of living, and buying in the UK is no longer attractive due to high import taxes. For the last four archives, I think Obi-Wan which is impossible to find at a decent price and Luke which was quickly out of stock in retail are good choices. However Grogu has been released multiple times, and Ahsoka was on clearance last summer for the equivalent of $8 and is still available below retail price… so, less interesting. Overall, Hasbro seems to cater better to collectors in Europe.
I’m guessing Ahsoka and grogu are just being rereleased because they are popular characters with broad appeal. Hasbro is struggling right now and they probably just want to make as many sales as possible, even if it isn’t what archive is really meant for.
I'm happy with the re releases. I'm upset about the overseas only getting the archive cause I need the Luke from mandalorian i missed that one I also missed re release pre-order from red which i desperately need I hope it goes back up for pre order or i can catch it when it goes in stock i need rex
I recently broke down and got the Kenobi on ebay. Then oh no it's being re-released in TPM 3 pack. Then oh no it's being re-released in Archive...except it's not. There hasn't been a new US Archive wave since I started collecting a few years ago, though I do have some of them.
Hahaha the original rumor on the Padawan Obi-Wan was a rerelease of the red/black box version. Now it's coming in a 3-pack AND an international Archive wave. Lol! -Justin
16:55 yeah man as a new black series collector im scratching my head at this. Its very confusing to know whats new or old. I honestly believe they’re counting on confused consumers like me who will get something because of the boxing.
For me it is not hard to find the figgies that I want,I have a Romanian store that basically bring everything that is black series+if they dont have the figgies that I want I order from BBTS or staractionfigures. For me it isn't a problem.
Doesn't this just justify all of us who decided to throw away our boxes! All this random packaging is a major L and just really makes me happy. i decided awhile.ago to trash my boxes of most of my figures. I would be happy if the line just switched to that cool tiney 2 pack box we got for the phase 2 and B1. Another odd thing to me is the whole A lister thing. Dubbing it "A" lister to me would imply its the best version of that character in the line....so very odd that they pick 2017 ANH Vader over the superior ESB Vader 🤪💀. Fun FIO episode my bros!
As someone from Europe, I feel that pain others mentioned, I haven't been able to score a Rex in years, it's such a big hole in my collection. Hearing that the Rex and Fox are US only is heartbreaking. I got Fox some time ago from a local store through some big luck, but Rex is gone once again unless I'm willing to dish out more than 100 euros for it. Fox and Rex should have been international, if anything at least the Rex because he's such a main character and because he featured in so much Star Wars media. As for the new Archive wave Obi-Wan and Luke are great, it looks fine to me, all of them are main/big characters that should be out and available for everyone to get especially for newcomers to the hobby! If we didn't get the Phantom Menace 3-pack, I might have gotten that Padawan Obi-Wan instead because I didn't have that one and would've loved to get it. (If the Shadow Squadron 2-pack is US only, I'll eat my Flex Tape! xD) But yeah, to keep it short, new Archive wave is fine, Fox and Rex should have been put into Archive/Galaxy packaging. Hope everyone has a nice day and good luck collecting! :)
Here is my guess about Hasbro's re-release strategy as a semi-new collector: -A-Lister seems to be a US exclusive initiative with mostly recent or retooled figures of evergreen characters -Archive seems to be moving to International Exclusive re-releases of semi-hard to find/popular and Evergreen characters (hence why you have Ahsoka and Grogu alongside hard to find Luke and Episode 1 Obi-Wan) -Original Box re-releases are meant to signify "This is an older, pre-2020 figure with little to no updates" At least, that's what i think the idea is for now. If Archive stays a non-US release strategy and A-List stays US Exclusive, i think that makes some amount of sense, that they are phasing Archive out of the US in favor of A-List and releasing the older, hard to find figures as straight reissues.
@@OutOfTheBasement I don't know for certain, but I haven't heard anything out of Hasbro that the A-Lister sub-line/initiate has gone outside the US so far
i don't know on black series anymore, i'm thinking about getting out of it and just collecting the retro figures or start rebuilding my vintage collection from when i was a kid. i'm so behind on the black series figures and when i lost my job back in march everything had to get put on pause. now they are starting on the phantom menace in the black series which again is also another thing that drives collectors like us crazy is they keep bring out characters from all over the place instead of sticking with one series or movie and finish the line. look what happened when they started the rise of skywalker figures. it never finished past darkside rey. hasbro needs to get their act together and stick with one thing at a time.
Defintely agree, doesn’t make sense with these releases and why some are galaxy, while some are straight reissue or Archive. Bottom line, I’m also very happy they don’t take up mainline spots
I did an early am Saturday morning aisle visit, haven't done that in a while and was feeling like I might find something I needed to take home even though Im currently caught up on most available items and was thinking about this vid as I have also been rearranging and selling things which brings me to the boxes. TBS started out as the definitive figure line but has devolved into somewhat of a mess with the decision making seeming short sighted and not fleshed out. Seems like a recurring theme with modern SW......regardless there have been so many great and definitive figures but the variety of assorted boxes makes it impossible to store and display without absorbing a lot of space. SH Figuarts at least somewhat retains the same box dimensions to line up on a shelf display or for storing but that is really just a collector nitpick, of course everyone prefers different ways of display but consistent product packaging sort of unifies the line and why have box art if you aren't gonna use it?? My long winded comment essentially goes back to WM. I swing down the toy aisle and WM is very well stocked with all types of every figure line especially the SW section and then it hit me what a hot mess the entire toyline was from young children to collectors focused releases. The new 5POA line is already being on clearance and hanging on the peg at $7 next to a retro Mando for $11 next to a new TVC Mando for $17 nest to a A-line TBS Mando the lesser with plastic cape for $24. Great selections but why 3 of the same size figure in 3 formats? Why doesn't TVC or TBS get playsets or world building when Young Jedi is being on clearance with a giant Ewok looking village, several mid size ships with features like speeder bike storage kinda cool and tons of figure sets with smaller ships. Fans have been asking for these things in the collector lines but Hasbro acts they can't while budgets are wasted for clearance buyout products. Im not saying don't make toys for smaller fans but why is everything so diluted with so many different versions or different sizes and formats? With one line getting everything fans are asking for but made for a line that goes to clearance while they make fans crowdfund products they used to produce and still make in scale for other lines, it honestly just feels like fleecing a certain portion of the consumer. The SW brand just seems badly managed, no focus, no clear direction. Many odd choices, like why are there 2 cases of A-line Vader but no Vader media out, same with Mando, no new media nothing but tons of figures on the shelf now that have been easily sourced at cost or cheaper for awhile. Sure slightly different but apparently Mandalorians aren't hard to track down after all?
Oh, let's not forget the Chopper re-release that came with the Ahsoka show figs, but in the same Rebels packaging it had come in before, but now with a new number and slightly different mural art! Yeah I think a lot of us judge these from a very personal perspective. I've seen a lot of people say the Obi is pointless as he will be in that 3 pack, like EVERYONE is going to buy that 3 pack. To us fans, we look at figures going for over $100 and think oh why don't they just archive those? But perhaps Hasbro are looking at data that shows it's not so much a huge number of people wanting those figs, it's just a small number of people that REALLY want them and are willing to pay a lot. I have zero idea what kind of numbers Black Series sales figures are, but maybe there are 1000 fans out there who want a Rex so badly, they'll pay $100. There could be 10,000 fans out there who want a Grogu, but they're not really willing to pay anything over RRP. In that scenario, the Ahsoka re-release makes way more money than the Rex re-release. It does seem like Hasbro are leaving so much money on the table to us fans though. Marvel Legends don't even have an Archive line, and many figures go for prices that made Captain Rex's aftermarket price look like a steal. They hardly ever re-release their multipack figs as singles either, which at least Black Series usually does, albeit sometimes leaving out accessories or soft goods.
I think that the change in packaging was a way to update the line from Red and Black. It is difficult to keep the consistency across the line to please long time collectors. The solution would be to offer the option of complete renders or the galaxy packaging for fans and re- release on original packaging to reduce the cost for returning figures. As Justine pointed out its about creating variations to attract long time collector to purchase again. Die-hard collectors will dip into their wallets to be completionists
Im from Mexico (and even though we're so close to the US the distribution of black series is quite different here, we dont get pulse exclusive items, and target/gamestop exclusives we only get sometimes and are always sold as exclusives to a mayor toystore or department store here and always at a markup) as for this wave the preorder for these was out this week (weirdley enough on amazon) we did also get the last international wave with pilot luke, vader, bo katan and the stromtrooper. For collectors here Obi-Wan is a good choise (that one wasnt originally sold here and is not only hard to get but very expensive on the secondary market), Luke sold out very quickly here but you can still get him in the secondary market for a slight markup (about 20% maybe), ahsoka and grogu though are headsratchers, both made it to clearance (ross style prices) and you can still find them cheap. I would have rather they put Rex, maybe Qui-Gon (with the updated headsculpt since that one was an exclusive and very limited here).
I think the difference between an archive wave and the straight up re-releases probably comes down to updating a character or two with photo real and then filling out a wave around them, and a figure that can just be run again from the factory as is to save time and money. I have no idea why they do all the other weird things they do, but keep pumping out Ashokas until I can snap one up at Lando clearance price.
I 💯 agree that the packing should be consistent. Once a figure releases, that is the package for that figure. They could simply add stickers to the boxes to indicate release edition. This would simplify the process, save cost, and be appealing to collectors that are looking for early prints of the figures. Also, new collectors could easily score retail copies of the figures they want. It is the book model. Some people want to just read the story and others want a special early copy.
The ONLY store in Slovakia that sells Black Series in stores has only archive Dengar, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Lando, and Leia. Also Hasbro Pulse in Slovakia allways has sold out figures for an entire year. And when I want to buy something on Amazon or Ebay, the shipping is almost triple the figure. When there are Target, Wallmart exclusives announced im sad. Glad this wave is not un USA.
I agree some of this is a bit of a head scratcher but I also think there is some logic to small parts of it. And of course way too many people react from seeing a quick social media post and don’t take the time to understand details about the releases (international, etc) The comments here from international collectors do seem to confirm that these archive characters have been challenging to get. I do agree that there is a LOT of different packaging floating around, and it can be a little confusing but I think the line has been that way for quite a while to at least a small degree. I know when I started collecting in 2020 I was really confused about blue line vs orange line vs red box vs anniversary packaging vs archive packaging. I didn’t know at first what the difference was. I was also confused about the 3.75” black series figures and I didn’t understand how they were black series or why. It’s just part of the hobby I think a little bit - there is a learning curve just due to high volume of figures in the line over the 10+ years of its existence. It sort of is what it is. The A LIST line to me is pretty obviously being done at the request of the big box retail stores who are tired of the 2nd and 3rd tier characters sitting in their shelves. They want the Vaders and the Mandos to be on the shelf all the time so little Jonny and Susie will ask mommy for them while they are making their weekly target run for whatever. I think that’s exactly why there are the two different Mando figs that were released basically at the same time (Mines vs Glavis). One is for collectors and one is for mass consumption. It will not surprise me to see the stormie released again pretty soon as an A list fig too. I’m actuallly surprised that they didn’t do Grogu in the a list package too. If little Jonny is asking mommy for a Mando fig while they are walking thru the store it’s a good bet he also wants grogu to go with him. So yeah some odd stuff but some of it makes a little sense too. It’s a big line now after a decade. To quote THE DUDE “it’s a complicated case man. Lot of ins, lot of outs, lot of what have you’s…”
Also--- New Zealand uses Ebay to price much of our collections, though sometimes it wont sell for those prices we tend to sell for 20% less. But Ahsoka Grogu/Luke weren't hard to find, i don't recall about obiwan.
Both Ahsoka Mando and Ahsoka - Ahsoka can be brought within NZ, Ahsoka mando is on special at the location i buy from. Grugo Luke, nor Obiwan are there.. this guy tends to have older figures for longer which is great.
I'm a collector from Europe, within the EU. Trying to collect any of this (or any sci-fi and fantasy stuff) is really frustrating. Most stuff is either not available at all, or with the few retailers, like a/m.a-z/o-n USA section, who actually do ship some items to countries in EU, they end up at least the double when counting in shipping, custom handeling and VAT. If look at the EU sections of a.m/a.z/o.n, like Germany /de, Italy /it, Sweden /se, just to mention a few, the things on offer is very limited or from third party and costly. Like the Shadow trooper set is like the equivalent of 400$ on one of those sections...continue below...
...If wanting any rare version of anything, like even the new Micro Galaxy Star Wars ships, they are not available. Especially not those that are like T/a.r-g.e/t. exclusives. They are available on W/a/l-M.a/r-t. and T.a/r.g-e/t shop but they do not ship here. Even a common ship like the yellow N1 Starfighter from Phantom menace is a T/a.r-g/e-t exlusive (not just a variation of a paint scheme but the regular ship). The so called rare and chase versions (limited in numbers), like for example Wedge Antilles X-Wing, is impossible here (unless willing to cough up silly prices on e/b-a/y. from third part)...continue below...
...At first I was so excited when hearing Hasbro Pulse would re-release Clone Wars Rex and Commander Fox. Then I realized only in US and again I was disappointed and frustrated. Rex here is like the equivalent of 200-300$ (plus shipping and vat), Commander Fox is like 100-200$ (+ shipping and import) from third party. As for the new trilogy and TV-Series figures, those have been a bit more readily available here, but I am not interested in most of the new trilogy figures. I'm at the point where I am about to give up on Hasbro Pulse and just go for clones from A / -L / I - e/x.p / r.e.s/s. Not even Hasbros own EU shop has the same stuff as the US version. Of course Hasbro US version don't ship here. 😡
Sorry for the silly writing style and splitting up in 3 comments above but I had to do that, if writing correctly the TH-cam AI bot would instantly delete my comment. Even though I did not use any foul language or links.
@@OutOfTheBasement Thank you for your reply. I'm just glad I could finally post the issues with trying to collect this stuff in EU, even if I had to split it up in 1 main comment and 2 replies (or it would get deleted by yt ai bot). I hope you read them all. Btw, it's the same trying to collect Jazwares Micro Galaxy Squadron Star Wars ships. Quite a few of their basic ships are available on various amazon sections in EU (like se, it, de) but many I had to order from US section (com). The rares and chases, not to mention any walmart or target exclusives, are impossible here.
Cheapest new figure I can buy here in Chile SA is like 35$. 2-packs or 3-packs tend to overprice their figures so like the phantom menace new 3-pack is 130$ here. Its bs. And sometimes only 2 stores have the packs available online
Just get rid of packaging. No packaging. But I want them hand delivered to my house by members of the Black Series team as they cater to my wants specifically. And lord help them if they fail to cater specifcically to me. I'm the main character.
I know you're joking around but that's honestly a great idea. I'd love to order figures w/ no packaging and maybe get a slight discount. Just let me order them loose! I AM HIM. -Justin
I’m glad you guys realise that the world isn’t just the US. Some Star Wars collectors fail to realise this. From my perspective as an Australian collector I thought in this archive wave is a complete waste of time. Some are still available retail currently and others are easy to get or far from desirable. Another fail from Hasbro. And not getting figures like Rex and Fox at the same time is absolutely pathetic. I have both, including two Rex’s but they are hard to get and expensive. Hasbro really isn’t for the fans and seriously has no idea. We also pay crazy prices compared to the US as well.
The same can be said with doll collectors and companies. I collect fashion dolls as well and the amount of doll lines that just do not release in stores over here (I'm in the UK but I know its just as bad, if not worse, on mainland Europe) and if they do it's on Amazon only and they're still hard to get there. American collectors really don't understand how good they've got it and get so entitled when it's pointed out. Not these guys though. These guys are real ones
all Rex, Fox, and Rebels Hera and Sabine is almost impossible to get in Europe (Poland especialy)... buying from US mostly doubles the price with postage, custom fees and VAT taxes a... that is really crap... also international wave is mostly sold out apart from Ahsoka which is everywhere and credit collection was on amazon for like 10$ recently
I don't collect figures like crazy, I have a lot of them, but I only by ones I really like and that only happens maybe once every two months. One figure I know for a fact we will never see a rerelease for is the Slave Leia or Hutt Slayer Leia figure. It's a shame but because of a single father who complained about an adult collectible figure we won't see this figure again (look up the story). That said I'd love to see a rerelease even if it means the value diminishes for mine.
It wasn’t this long time ago where they really clearly laid out what was available where in the world. But since the repacks and the global archive I feel it’s more willy nilly and they let go of that clear overview. About the Archive, Ashoka is or has been in ample supply in the Netherlands and Indonesia. The other 3 a lot less.
I don't really understand the confusion about packaging, especially for new collectors. It's just cardboard around cool figures? Like whenever I dip my toes into Joes or Legends, I don't really understand the packaging differences, but that doesn't really matter because all I want is the fig?
My vote goes to the comic book packaging but with the galaxy package scheme but squared off for the Black Series. Then the original 96 every may 4th the put a 12 figure wave with Kenner style packaging. TVC & Retro the Kenner packaging always.
I'm from Ireland and what u said I have to agree with. Luke and Obi are to find here, but Grogu and Asoka is filling the stores here. So no idea why they picked them 2.
Even as someone who’s been collecting since 2017 (and in the uk) this is all getting far too confusing, I shouldn’t haven’t to keep spreadsheets/notes on which figures I need to pick up and which ones are rereleases - thank you guys for helping me keep my sanity!!
Danish collector here. I am glad this Luke gets a second wind, because he came and went like a green fart in the wind and was gone quickly. I do have the Obi Wan figure, but looks like he could function as great fodder for custom random Jedi's, or townfolk, as they seemingly wear the same style of clothing x-D
EU collector here (and a new one). These region-specific re-releases are extremely frustrating and I can't understand why some are US-only and others are international. It just makes it harder to get the figures that you really want. I also agree that the packaging is gotten confusing for me. Tbh, I was under the impression that a figure in a Galaxy package would always be a "new" release (I'm counting same sculpt but with different paint, accessories etc. as "new").
I started collecting this year, I always tried figuring out what each packaging was meant for but I never found a concrete answer, after this recent wave and watching this video... Im totally lost now lol
I preordered Rex at a Canadian shop, but Emperor on Throne is still not on Canadian Amazon, and no one can tell me if it’s going to be or if it was announced as US Amazon only.
As a Western Australian Collector, Luke was a little more difficult to find. I can't speak about obi-wan because I wasn't collecting at the time. Grogu surprisingly sold out pretty quickly where I am. I didn't want to pay full price for him and thought I should just wait for the inevitable discount, which never came :( I bought the Mandalorian Ahsoka on sale just before the Ahoska show version was released. And she has just gone on sale as well. so 3 out of 4 I see value in, but Ahsoka is a strange choice.
I think black series has always had a branding issue. Back when there were both 6" and 3.75 and the helmet and saber line and now this. They've always seemed a little confused when it comes to branding the Black Series
I'm so glad Hasbro is releasing these iconic characters because i was never able to get a Darth Vader until the new A New Hope Vader came out. I looked for each Vader in the Galaxy line and never found one. After the Obi-wan Vader never showed up i thought i was out of luck until i found this New Hope Vader. Great video, new Black Series collectors do indeed exist 😂
I hope the Shadow squadron set comes all over not just the U.S like Rex and Fox. The old stromtrooper body is still pretty good and is better at getting in a kneeling pose than the 2020 body TBH. Looks a little ugly but still decent.
My kids destroyed my old figure collection from the early 2000s. I just recently started collecting the Black Series, so thanks for acknowledging us newbs! It is confusing but I figure (no pun intended) multiple simultaneous re-releases means more chances for me to catch up. At this point, I’m just happy to obtain 1 great version of my fav characters.
In Romania (at the particular online store I use, I haven’t checked everywhere), Ahsoka and Grogu are still available for the usual price. I think the other two are welcome additions. Luke is a great figure and I don’t think I’ve even seen that Obi-Wan before. What worries me, however, is that Rex and Fox aren’t on the “coming soon” list, while the other reveals are, so maybe those are US-only releases?
FYI, Rex & Fox preorders are available throughout Canada, Gamestop, Toy Snowman, among a few. Just to clarify your statement "only available in US"...Bob
I'm glad you guys are making a point about "american is not the only country in the world" I've seen some content creator bieng confused, almost upset about the international release, making me wonder why some american collector like so much the gatekeeping instead of being happy for the community, we struggle to get some figure over here sometimes too
The padawan Obi-Wan is the only one of the pending archives that I'd get excited about being re-released in the US. I hope that happens at some point, because the markup for the originals is pretty silly.
Great video! Definitely a strange situation, probably very confusing for new collectors with the lack of some uniformity. Anyways, thanks for another one! Im sure this will help clear things up for a lot of people. Much Love, and MTFBWY!
As a FORMER completionist (PFP ended that) I would have welcomed ANY re-releases into the Galaxy packaging. I had no issue selling off my old Red Box figures and buying the new Galaxy boxes of the Rebels crew. I may have lost a few bucks in the transfer but it was negligible. I'd buy a new Cody and Fox in Galaxy packaging and sell my old ones at "loose" pricing and been happy to do so.
Cant believe we still can't get Rex in the uk and internationally it's been so long and at this rate we will likely never get him. Either way, great video lads, keep up the great work!
As a Romanian perspective, it is a good thing that they are re-releasing some of the figures, but I would prefer the old one that were harder to get (Shadow Stormtrooper and Scout Trooper 2 Pack or Sandtroopers). Also they could change the packages to a the new ones.
Boggles the mind Rex and Fox aren't just in archive boxes and released worldwide. While I'm happy I can get the Obi-Wan figure, i've once again missed out on Rex since it was US only
That’s the one thing I found amusing when I lived in the US, some of you guys really did think the world is only the USA. I had to often ‘bite my lip’ and smile and then use my British stiff upper lip and to get through.
I cannot go into a single shop without seeing ahsoka here - she's a complete pegwarmer not because it's a bad figure just because they clearly made way too much. regularly see her discounted to between £8-12. I did preorder mando luke tho as missed out on him before i started collecting and he's a lil more than rrp on ebay. getting obi wan in the 3 pack
It has to be that they are not wanting to spring for the design / art costs to make Galaxy Packaging for all of these not to mention the slightly different plastic clamshell for the archive box. Still, it is all very confusing. 😂 I like the A-list idea and I would prefer Justin’s idea of making Archive Packaging in the Galaxy packaging style just grey and black
Wouldn't it be cheaper to streamline the packaging though? Isn't that what they're doing with the "new" version of galaxy packaging without the slant? Thanks for watching, dude! -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement it’s probably still easier to press print on a design they’ve had from years ago than to call up the artist to draw Rex, Fox and tie them into the existing mural. But if Paz Vizsla is any Indicator, I’m sure they’ll eventually just put them in a galaxy box as part of mainline
At first I was very confused by the choices for the latest Archive wave, and then I heard about it being international exclusive and I stopped caring. Maybe Hasbro is moving Archive to be international and just straight rereleasing figures in the US? Maybe they’re trying to trick collectors and casuals into buying a figure multiple times with Galaxy packaging rereleases? Who knows! On the bright side, I get to save money with a lot of the reissues! -Tommy
Yeah for you and I this is pretty much a non-issue. We already have all these figures, lol. It's not too much my back but I can definitely see how this could get confusing for newer collectors. -Justin
Hello Nate and Justin. The rerelease of all these older figures in there original packaging is confusing Hasbro should have used Archive packaging or as you suggest new Galaxy packaging. And now does Hasbro continue doing this moving forward ?? All we can do for now is keep our eyes open and just preorder any figures that we want/need. I'm still hopeful for the rerelease of the Shadow Squadron set. Gotta get at least one set, but I'd prefer two of them. Thanks again guys for sharing your thoughts on this current situation with Hasbro. Take care and I'll catch you both when ever. If I recall your not doing a live stream this Sunday. Thanks again Tom
I kind of understand Rex. Rex had previous orders and that was over a year ago. Hasbro probably realizing all the prep is done so ordered more units. Putting him in Galaxy packaging would cost them more. This isn’t their plan. This rerelease plan is cost savings to a company a year ago was looking rough and people lost their jobs. So they have less doing more. So Rex makes sense. They had the connections to produce what they made years ago and most importantly they have demand to sell them. So win win. No clue about Fox. I guess a similar situation. Licensor already gave them the approval. I’m under the impression there is no such thing as a Hasbro mfg plant. They contract with existing ones. This is why the Haslabs are one and done. It’s possible they got better pricing to do a deal with a manufacturer they worked with previously and they made a deal to make more of that same thing. I’m just spitballing.
This video isn't so much about rereleases in general (I think they make sense) but the way in which they're being released. I think Rex and all the rest make perfect sense. -Justin
I love all this random packaging!! It's officially chaos. It gives me the idea they don't really quite know what they're doing!!?? 😮😮... 😅😅 "Some Hasbro's just want to see the world burn"...
Hello David. I don't know if I want to see the world burning, perhaps just certain parts where evil is thriving. You know where most politicians live might be a good place to start. A world in chaos... The only place chaos belongs is on my black series battle field with Luke and Leia kissing with some deep tongue action. And C-3P0 telling R2-D2 "R2 my circuits burn for you." And R2's response "Danger Will Robinson !! Danger !!"
@@theperceptor9287 Tom!! 😃 😀 😄 I've missed this response. The only chaos I now know is Hasbro's shitty distribution in England. We have turned from getting stuff early-ish, into a right back-water. No droid-dickkas, no ph1's, no Key Paddy Hyundai.... Even that Kal 3 pac is at least ten days away from now.
@@DavidEdge69 Yeah I was updated last week that the single Super Battle Droids and Palpatine are delayed till October or November as well. They were supposed to be released June or July. I did get a hit with my Destroyer Droids showing up at BBTS, I got a receipt for about $70 US dollars 💵 for my two droids, ouch 🤕. I've got about 54 days till I have to ship out my loot pile.
@@theperceptor9287 Can't wait for those Droid-dickkaz!! June 5th here, if Pulse UK is to be believed... Just watched a Hammerhead review as a world exclusive on the English guy SithLord229's yt channel and he looks fantastic.
I feel like these rereleases are probably due to the delays of a lot of the shows that were affected by the strikes. Skeleton Crew was supposed to be already released and Andor S2 was supposed to come this year, but isn’t coming till next year. No idea if the Acolyte was delayed or not but I can see that these delays made them decide to rerelease these figures and get use of the older molds that the fan base wants to have a second chance at getting. The rumors for some of these go back for a long time but those who were on strike had said they’d known for months prior that a deal wasn’t going to be made, there’s a good chance that the studios had given a heads up to Hasbro and other toy companies
Black Series getting pinless double joints on Elbow and Knees would be crazy, NGL. Single joints are too outdated at this point. Let me pose Palpy doing the spin and all sort of Kungfu pose all I want.
I'm guessing they dropped after you produced this vid as you didn't mention it, but I'm happy about the upcoming re-release of the Rebels Sabine. I have the original pre-photoreal release and I really don't like the face, so I'll be picking up another when it comes out. I might get Hera as well, but that one isn't as bad imo. As always, loving the content. Have a great weekend!
I have got the photo-real galaxy packaging release of Rebels Sabine from a couple years ago, and, yes, the face is improved, but the paint application for her hair is lousy - - she looks like she is wearing a purple skull cap instead of simply having hair with purple highlights. I wonder if Hasbro will improve/correct this issue with her upcoming rerelease.
As a collector doomed to having been born in México, I've suffered quite a few disappointments, having no Target here it used to pain me whenever they announced a Target exclusive, last years I've been able to find them at acceptable prices, last year I overpaid the Empire Strikes Back tvc comic style Boba Fett figure, but it got compensated because the other comic pack version became kind of a peg warmer for scalpers so, I costed less that half regular price. On the other hand, I have never seen the vintage colours version and the Droids one was swiftly scalped. I have little experience with TBS, but I've seen that Luke Skywalker only twice, both times overpriced
Photo shoping figures is false advertising in my opinion. Though my Burger King Burger never looks like the advertising. All these corporations do it. It sucks, it happens. Great video guys.
If were looking at fan channels in europe maybe we can find out what stores they are and see if they have grogu and ahsoka still in stock like the UK. Also there is a hasbro pulse eu aswell as UK pulse so in theory same availability as UK. Archive needs to go. Rerelease or update in galaxy packaging and make it standard like vc. Luke could have been shelved and then released again when they can tool him to be screen accurate. Theres a lot of people selling there collections real cheap on facebook groups in the UK and they arent being snapped up even under market value. It is looking like a lot are just not getting any enjoyment anymore which is sad to see.
I really truly am holding onto hope that those US reissues eventually make it actoss the pond. Because there's a few there that I really want that are expensive on the aftermarket or just impossible to get. A test run to see how well they sell before goint global? Maybe I'm just insane
@@OutOfTheBasement I did after the last stream where I think someone said the import charges weren't that much. So I've preordered Sabine and I'm watching and hoping to get a chance at Rex. Thanks!
Hasbro must be using different factories who have access to certain elements moulds/packaging etc - the logic seems strange, but it must come down to money and how easy it is for the factories to crank these out ??
Conspiracy theory: so back in the Kenner days the old leftover OG Star Wars figures on the shelves were sent back to the factory to be repacked into ESB packaging. What if these international releases are just leftover stock (either from stores or warehouses) that was repacked into archive boxes?
I'm completely okay with these releases, while it doesn't mean we get new archives, figures in general go away really quickly and while i don't want any of the figures aside feom the Luke Skywalker, having the option to get these when i want to instead of rushing to get these figures before they go away and wasting my money on them is something i really like, Hasbro should keep doing these, figures on the pegs, regardless wether they sell or not is great because eventually someone is going to cave in and buy them.
He is 50 and above for me from everywhere so now I have finally the ability to get him
The whole shebang had Rex and still has Fox for the uk for £28 and with free shipping
I wish more collectors were in my country but it seam like there is not enough demand for that
@@banzaibobA7V yeah. I love bbts for this. If only their stock wasn't gone in 1 minute
I wish this archive wave was already out by now
Hahahaha makes sense! -Justin
Yep it definitely seems like a "so-so" wave. 50/50. -Justin
I couldn't believe all the stupid comments i read from fellow Americans about an international release. It was good to finally hear a rational response to this from you guys (compared to the FB & IG typical comments).
We try! Appreciate your support. -Justin
It would also be cool if they put the updated storm trooper with a holster in the galaxy packaging for A New Hope.
100% agreed! The holster variant is needed. -Justin
I am from Costa Rica (Central America) and the only one that is difficult to get is the Obi Wan Episode 1 figure. There are many Ahsokas and almost no one is paying for the Grogu figure as it is way too expensive for what it is 😱
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective, AD! -Justin
They should just stick rereleases in archive packaging. Even if that means making a deluxe archive package just so everything is easy to follow and isn't confusing.
Fox and Rex should've been worldwide for sure! -Justin
I think PERFECT choices for an Archive release would be Rex (from Black and Red box #59) and Fox. These are excellent examples of what the Archive line should be intended for! - William
You're exactly right! -Justin
I totally agree with you guy’s take on the packing mystery!!! Why they are using the old boxes makes no sense at all!
Thanks for watching, dude! -Justin
As a member of the mexican community, black series is almost impossible to collect at retail. Amazon is just ok not too much stock on high demand figures, but exclusives need to be imported by third parties with a higher price tag
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! Much love from the US. -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Reminder: BBTS got latest International Archive wave in stock so i think these will be avaiable there too in future for those who want them in US

I’m guessing Ahsoka and grogu are just being rereleased because they are popular characters with broad appeal. Hasbro is struggling right now and they probably just want to make as many sales as possible, even if it isn’t what archive is really meant for.
Who knows what their methods are! Thanks for watching. -Justin

Lol! -Justin

Salut Silviu, care este magazinul?
Doesn't this just justify all of us who decided to throw away our boxes! All this random packaging is a major L and just really makes me happy. i decided awhile.ago to trash my boxes of most of my figures. I would be happy if the line just switched to that cool tiney 2 pack box we got for the phase 2 and B1.
Another odd thing to me is the whole A lister thing. Dubbing it "A" lister to me would imply its the best version of that character in the line....so very odd that they pick 2017 ANH Vader over the superior ESB Vader 🤪💀.
Fun FIO episode my bros!
See Fig?!? You and I were right all along!!! Lol. Appreciate you checking out the episode as always! -Justin
(If the Shadow Squadron 2-pack is US only, I'll eat my Flex Tape! xD)
But yeah, to keep it short, new Archive wave is fine, Fox and Rex should have been put into Archive/Galaxy packaging.
Hope everyone has a nice day and good luck collecting! :)
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Here is my guess about Hasbro's re-release strategy as a semi-new collector:
-A-Lister seems to be a US exclusive initiative with mostly recent or retooled figures of evergreen characters
-Archive seems to be moving to International Exclusive re-releases of semi-hard to find/popular and Evergreen characters (hence why you have Ahsoka and Grogu alongside hard to find Luke and Episode 1 Obi-Wan)
-Original Box re-releases are meant to signify "This is an older, pre-2020 figure with little to no updates"
At least, that's what i think the idea is for now. If Archive stays a non-US release strategy and A-List stays US Exclusive, i think that makes some amount of sense, that they are phasing Archive out of the US in favor of A-List and releasing the older, hard to find figures as straight reissues.
Is A-Lister only in the US? Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! -Justin
Do what makes you happy! -Justin
Defintely agree, doesn’t make sense with these releases and why some are galaxy, while some are straight reissue or Archive. Bottom line, I’m also very happy they don’t take up mainline spots
Agreed! Thanks for watching, Corellian. -Justin

Grogu should be considered an accessory
He is sometimes lol!
“Prolonged exposure to the Orb of Confusion will give you confusion”, an unintentionally good summary of the situation

Ah, how could I forget about Chopper?!?! Lol. -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
There has been over 20 Archive figures that didn't require a photo-real update. -Justin
Consistent packaging would be nice! Thanks for watching. -Justin
I need the padawan Obi Wan. I’d pick up the Luke to keep on card. I’m good on the rest. Have a good day brothers.

And of course way too many people react from seeing a quick social media post and don’t take the time to understand details about the releases (international, etc)
The comments here from international collectors do seem to confirm that these archive characters have been challenging to get.
Great breakdown on many fronts, Jhawk. I agree with most! -Justin
Yeah Ahsoka and Grogu are the head scratchers for sure! -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Just get rid of packaging. No packaging. But I want them hand delivered to my house by members of the Black Series team as they cater to my wants specifically. And lord help them if they fail to cater specifcically to me. I'm the main character.
PFP - packaging free packaging 😉
Hasbro representatives must sit at their round table and say don't send any desired bs figures to Australia as a prank.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! Take care. Much love from the US. -Justin
all Rex, Fox, and Rebels Hera and Sabine is almost impossible to get in Europe (Poland especialy)... buying from US mostly doubles the price with postage, custom fees and VAT taxes a... that is really crap...
also international wave is mostly sold out apart from Ahsoka which is everywhere and credit collection was on amazon for like 10$ recently
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Can you link the story? I find that wildly unbelievable, lmao. -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective, Rina! -Justin
I don't really understand the confusion about packaging, especially for new collectors. It's just cardboard around cool figures? Like whenever I dip my toes into Joes or Legends, I don't really understand the packaging differences, but that doesn't really matter because all I want is the fig?
We get plenty of comments saying otherwise. -Justin
My vote goes to the comic book packaging but with the galaxy package scheme but squared off for the Black Series. Then the original 96 every may 4th the put a 12 figure wave with Kenner style packaging. TVC & Retro the Kenner packaging always.
The comic book packaging is pretty awesome. -Justin
lmao "Orb of confusion"
😂😂😂
I'm from Ireland and what u said I have to agree with. Luke and Obi are to find here, but Grogu and Asoka is filling the stores here. So no idea why they picked them 2.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Even as someone who’s been collecting since 2017 (and in the uk) this is all getting far too confusing, I shouldn’t haven’t to keep spreadsheets/notes on which figures I need to pick up and which ones are rereleases - thank you guys for helping me keep my sanity!!
Agreed! -Justin
Nice, thanks for the perspective and you are totally right Obi is great Jedi fodder! Thanks for watching! -Nate
EU collector here (and a new one). These region-specific re-releases are extremely frustrating and I can't understand why some are US-only and others are international. It just makes it harder to get the figures that you really want. I also agree that the packaging is gotten confusing for me. Tbh, I was under the impression that a figure in a Galaxy package would always be a "new" release (I'm counting same sculpt but with different paint, accessories etc. as "new").
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! Much love from the US. -Justin
Also in the UK we didn't get anywhere listing the Rex and Fox rerelease
Yep we know that. Although I think BBTS ships to the UK and EU. -Justin
I started collecting this year, I always tried figuring out what each packaging was meant for but I never found a concrete answer, after this recent wave and watching this video... Im totally lost now lol
Lol in a nutshell just buy the ones that you want/look cool to you! -Justin
I preordered Rex at a Canadian shop, but Emperor on Throne is still not on Canadian Amazon, and no one can tell me if it’s going to be or if it was announced as US Amazon only.
It's hard to say. It'd be really weird if that's US Amazon only. -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
I think black series has always had a branding issue. Back when there were both 6" and 3.75 and the helmet and saber line and now this. They've always seemed a little confused when it comes to branding the Black Series
Yep it’s always struggled with what Black Series truly is. Thanks for watching, Hendrix! -Justin
Appreciate you sharing! 👊🏻 Take care, have a good weekend. -Justin
I hope the Shadow squadron set comes all over not just the U.S like Rex and Fox. The old stromtrooper body is still pretty good and is better at getting in a kneeling pose than the 2020 body TBH. Looks a little ugly but still decent.
If it's like these other rereleases, I wouldn't be too surprised if it's US only again. -Justin
More chances for you to catch up for sure! Welcome to the community. -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! Much love from the US. -Justin
FYI, Rex & Fox preorders are available throughout Canada, Gamestop, Toy Snowman, among a few. Just to clarify your statement "only available in US"...Bob
BBTS also ships to the UK and EU. -Justin
I'm glad you guys are making a point about "american is not the only country in the world" I've seen some content creator bieng confused, almost upset about the international release, making me wonder why some american collector like so much the gatekeeping instead of being happy for the community, we struggle to get some figure over here sometimes too
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
The padawan Obi-Wan is the only one of the pending archives that I'd get excited about being re-released in the US. I hope that happens at some point, because the markup for the originals is pretty silly.
Thanks for watching! -Justin
Great video! Definitely a strange situation, probably very confusing for new collectors with the lack of some uniformity. Anyways, thanks for another one! Im sure this will help clear things up for a lot of people. Much Love, and MTFBWY!
Appreciate your support! -Justin
Yeah losing a few bucks wouldn't be a big deal. I agree with the sentiment. -Justin
At least in Mexico, the Ahsoka and Grogu are found very cheap in amazon and second hand markets.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
I can only speak from my experience, but for me here in Australia, that Ahsoka is incredibly easy to find on clearance. Like, 40% off at minimum.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! Much love from the US. -Justin
Cant believe we still can't get Rex in the uk and internationally it's been so long and at this rate we will likely never get him. Either way, great video lads, keep up the great work!
Have you looked into Big Bad Toy Store? I believe they ship to UK and the EU for $8. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement just checked and the pre order sold out 😅. Thanks for the heads up though, will be useful for any future exclusives!
As a Romanian perspective, it is a good thing that they are re-releasing some of the figures, but I would prefer the old one that were harder to get (Shadow Stormtrooper and Scout Trooper 2 Pack or Sandtroopers).
Also they could change the packages to a the new ones.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Being an in-box collector is confusing and a little frustrating when all your figures have different boxes 😂😭
I can see it! 😂 -Justin
Wow! I’m so glad I watched this video before buying that Obi-Wan. I thought it was an updated sculpt…
Glad we could help! -Justin
Boggles the mind Rex and Fox aren't just in archive boxes and released worldwide. While I'm happy I can get the Obi-Wan figure, i've once again missed out on Rex since it was US only
They definitely should've been worldwide! -Justin
Don't forget the retro anniversary packaging!
How could I forget?!? -Justin
That’s the one thing I found amusing when I lived in the US, some of you guys really did think the world is only the USA. I had to often ‘bite my lip’ and smile and then use my British stiff upper lip and to get through.
We tend to live in our bubble over here! -Justin
It’s Hasbro distribution problem. Just buy them all. 😊
Yeah she was everywhere in the States as well. -Justin
That's the thing. What makes Paz "worth it" to carry over to galaxy but not Rex? -Justin
I really want an Old Ben archive. there hasn't been (to my knowledge) a single release with photoreal which seems ridiculous.
There was a photo-real version in the POTF cantina showdown set! I'd be down for a new Old Ben though. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement Yeah, I've been temped to fork out the near £90 just to tick the box of having Ben, but I don't want the rest of that set.
Hey Tom! Thanks for checking out this episode. Take care, my friend. -Justin
Danger !!"
I'M AN AGENT OF CHAOS
My local comicbook store in Ireland is now going to have 3 different versions of the same Ahsoka figure 😂 All priced differently 😂
And that dosn't include the Credit, Holocron and the two pack one.
Sheeeesh, lol! -Justin
I don't care about packages at all, just make enough figures on market to prevent damn scalping prices!!
That's fair! -Justin
No ,Hasbro are just run by MORONS.
This video isn't so much about rereleases in general (I think they make sense) but the way in which they're being released. -Justin
I’m just happy my destroyer droid, and ki adi mundi finally showed up today… yay!. lol
Heck yeah! 2 bangers right there!
Here in Brazil, it's impossible to find this Obi-Wan
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Black Series getting pinless double joints on Elbow and Knees would be crazy, NGL. Single joints are too outdated at this point. Let me pose Palpy doing the spin and all sort of Kungfu pose all I want.
I don't think Star Wars characters absolutely need them, honestly. But I'd gladly take them of course. -Justin
Gonna grab a Hera myself! Never got the photo-real version. -Justin
I was glad I waited for the phantom menace 3 pack to get a qui gon and obi wan but I’ve definitely been cancelling preorders as things have evolved
Thanks for watching, Jonathan! -Justin
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
Photo shoping figures is false advertising in my opinion. Though my Burger King Burger never looks like the advertising. All these corporations do it. It sucks, it happens. Great video guys.
False advertising for sure! Thanks for watching, James. -Justin
As a new collector why can you only get some figures in 3.75 inch and not in the 6 inch black line
Honestly I don’t have a good answer for that. It also happens vice versa. It’s dumb but has pretty much always been a thing.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective! -Justin
I really truly am holding onto hope that those US reissues eventually make it actoss the pond. Because there's a few there that I really want that are expensive on the aftermarket or just impossible to get. A test run to see how well they sell before goint global? Maybe I'm just insane
Have you looked into Big Bad Toy Store? -Justin
Not too sure! Tons of theories out there. -Justin
Conspiracy theory: so back in the Kenner days the old leftover OG Star Wars figures on the shelves were sent back to the factory to be repacked into ESB packaging. What if these international releases are just leftover stock (either from stores or warehouses) that was repacked into archive boxes?
Nope these are all fresh runs. That doesn't happen with Hasbro Black Series. -Justin
Excellent commentary on this subject. Some are very quick to jump to conclusions.
Glad you enjoyed the video! -Justin
