I kept waiting for them to talk about what Jackie De Shannon had to say about the Wrecking Crew who were the talented studio musicians who backed many of the great iconic vocal groups of the 1960's. Why do they advertise one thing then not deliver ?
This post does a huge disservice to Miss Jackie. Too much syrupy repetition and not enough true recognition or mention of her many hit songs she recorded or gave to other artists first ("When You Walk Into The Room"). She was too smart for the narcissistic Hollywood music execs of whom she demanded respect. And, oh yeah, why mention The Wrecking Crew in your title?
I always wondered why Jackie DeShannon wasn’t in the public eye as much as the other female singers of her time. Didn’t know she was the writer of Betty Davis Eyes. Love that song as well as her own hits from the past. ❤🙏🌟💎
Amen to that. I spent over 19 minutes waiting to hear about her feelings about the Wrecking Crew and the announcer kept repeating the same content over and over again. Very disappointing!
A very good video on Jackie DeShannon. However, the titles (At 83, Jackie DeShannon Finally Speaks Up On Wrecking Crew) has nothing whatsoever to do with the video....a title like the Great Carear of Jackie DeShannon would have been more appropriate....even the title does not give her the recognition she deserves.
Love Jackie. I interviewed her when I was a radio DJ years ago. But this was nothing but redundancy. This could have been a 10 min. or less video. Wrecking Crew??? I must have sneezed and missed it.
Very little in this presentation touches on the Wrecking Crew. It's mostly about her "mature intelligent lyrics" and "catchy tunes" with very very few actual examples. Sad.
I echo the comment below. I was expecting to hear Jackie talking, at length, about working with the Wrecking Crew. This is a bait and switch video-----promising the WC and not delivering even a sliver of what Jackie might have been able to share about working with those remarkable musicians. Please go back and try and find interviews where Jackie actually talks about what you're promising in the title of this vid.
A very FEW of her songwriting collaborations with others are mentioned - but even though it's said several times that her great strength was as a songwriter - none of her songs are mentioned. Peter & Gordon's "EVery Time That You Walk In The Room" - was written by her. Also "Needles & Pins." And there is absolutely NO MENTION of "The Wrecking Crew" whatsoever !!!
First 10 minutes you keep repeating she was talented and thrived in the music scene and collaborated. Over and over. And over again. You mention one cover song. Not once do you mention the title of ONE of her songs. Not one. You need to give people a taste of a number of songs
Female artists were more at a disadvantage, but I don't think retaining rights to their music and having a significant role in production were challenges unique to women only, as this presentation implies.
No one can touch the Wrecking Crew. This video is click bate. Jackie like Carol King wrote their own songs and paved the way for popular music of the 1960s. End of story.
A word to "Wise wind": Even in today's cynical world of lies and scams, you won't get anywhere with this BS titling. You may have click-baited some of us this time, but nobody will fall for this again. Try a little truth and honesty next time, because that ALSO is "What the world needs now"!!
She looks great for 83.

Click bait is why. This Wise wind guy suckers people into viewing their videos. He never delivers.
Clickbait indeed. This was nothing more than a generic retelling of her career.
She had nothing but hits with The Wrecking Crew - there are no dirty stories
Total clickbait!!! Remind me never to click on this channel, “wise wind” again 😮
I agree!
Jackie is awesome!! Her albums are a must for record lovers!!

Great comment! I’ve always been an admirer.
Totally agree with your assessment of this video. I kept waiting for her to talk about The Wrecking Crew which never happens.
clickbait and AI treacle

This was a bio on Jackie DeShannon, not what the title of this video says. There was no mention of The Wrecking Crew in the video. Misleading title.
Amen to that. I spent over 19 minutes waiting to hear about her feelings about the Wrecking Crew and the announcer kept repeating the same content over and over again. Very disappointing!
@@josephscionti4680 AI ruins it again.
@@ericrose3877 How does that work??
The fact that she inspired Jimmy Page to write "Tangerine" says a lot. Absolutely beautiful song.
Jackie was and still is one of my favorite female singers and a great writer,She Put A Lot Of Love In My Heart For Her.
"What the World Needs Now is Love" was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
Didn't hear any mention of, let alone, expozay, of the Wrecking Crew as implied.
She is totally cute and hot with that unmatchable 60s vibe and southern charm. Im of that generation. What style and talent. Love her. Thanks 🥰
You are absolutely correct in your evaluation of Jackie!

They never tell what they tease!
British band The Searchers had few hits in 60s with Jackie's songs .
Nothing on the Wrecking Crew.
Ms. DeShannon was greatly admired when I was a teen in the '60s and grad student in the '70s.
Yeah more clickbait garbage
Teen Idols are always in the forefront!
Why exclude "When you walk in the room"? Where Wrecking Crew member Glen Campbell played the lead guitar..
I never heard anything about The Wrecking Crew. Did I miss something?

Time has been kind to Jackie.
What did she say about the wrecking crew? Did I miss that?
No mention of "Needles and Pins" or "When You Walk in the Room"?
The wrecking crew had Women in the crew
The table center now. Women are the driving force currently.

So what about the Wrecking Crew…

Not a word about the Wrecking Crew.
Tommy Tedesco my second cousin.
Classic Guitarist - God Bless🎸🇺🇸
ChatGPT, create a video hagiography of Jackie DeShannon and give it a misleading title.
WARNING! at no point does Jackie DeShannon ever Speak Of the Wrecking Crew in this video!
I have much of her music and I like most everything she did but the hyperbole in this is extreme
I want to get her Imperial and Atlantic albums on CD
You did not mention the wrecking crew !
Now, if you could use a real human being to describe this lady, instead of this AI generation, I would enjoy hearing about a real talent much more
She looks great!
Whaaaaaat 83???? she looks 53!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see her in the R&R HOF.
Gave up after 3 minutes. Bland bio voice over, then decided to check out first 10 comments....
She wrote Bette Davis Eyes.
Nothing whatsoever to do with the wrecking crew. Very repetitive.

Editing people editing. Jimmy Page is not randy Newman.

You don't mention THE BYRDS !!!!
I didn't hear anything about the Wrecking Crew.
Soooo...What did she speak up on the Wrecking Crew? Nothing!!! Effin click bait!! Your channel SUCKS!!!
Exceptionally well researched, scripted, and edited.
83? Must of stayed away for the 60's lifestyle.

Exaggerated and distorted, wow
