I think the instant someone says that even a high lord, there going to end up dead or a servitor. He is the regent of the empire chosen specificaly by the emperor, counter mining him espically in public is a horrible idea given his near godhood status among all citizens of the empire.
Little did the High Lords know, the Emperor of Mankind didn't really want to kill all Xenos. The Eldar are among the Xenos that he would gladly make friends with. Not to mention before the Heresy, there is a section in the Imperial Palace that is designated for Xenos ambassadors.
The hatred for xenos comes from the aftermath of the cybernetic revolt. The men of iron attacked all sentient life, and many xenos wanted revenge against humanity for creating them, hunting and purging many human colonies while they were still weak. After that humanity had a general disdain for alien species, that coupled with the emperor's "join me or die" policies only further confirmed their hatred.
For me in my head canon I always thought Guilmain was the ONE primarch or at least one of the only ones that the Eldar NEVER played Eldar games with, the others they might manipulate or lead by the nose to get what they want but not Guilmain hes the one that when they want an alliance or need something and cant afford to wait they come right up to him and lay it on the table in as direct a fashion as possible for them
Yeah because they can't win against gman with his logistics. Horus took heavy losses trying to destroy a craftworld for some reason during the Great Crusade. Gman as far I know never really bothered them unless they did the screwing first besides the primarchs are basically the humans versions of phoenix lords that's not to be understated either.

The Imperium having the Aeldar as allies would be so clutch. They are the faction most suited on eliminating Sla'anesh. The Imperium has a huge and vast resource and power to bolster and complement the Aeldar's.

@@Lunalander226it’s true of all the Eldar, they just have different methods of dealing with it. The Asuryani, the Craftworlders, basically have to chill out and cultivate severe autism to ensure that a rock absorbs their soul instantly when they die, so they can be plugged into the psychic mainframe of their Craftworld. Drukhari just torture people to stop being soul-drained, and have their scientists clone them if they are killed. And Harlequins become one with their clown god in death, so they don’t have to fear death at all.

Though that would be mostly convincing them that the Imperium can bring them to a better fight than the Inperium can give them.
Fun fact: the Illiyan Nastase who appears in Dawn of Fire and Godblight is a reference to a character of the same name who appeared in a white dwarf supplement detailing various important characters of the Ultramarines all the way back in Rogue Trader. *That* Illiyan was a half-eldar chief librarian and astropath who wasn’t a full space marine but still walked around in power armour and played a frontline role in combat operations (and also all of his fellow Ultramarines were constantly thinking about wanting to murder him). By 2nd and 3rd edition, expansions on the lore made it clear that; eldar and humans couldn’t interbreed (at the very least, it’s not anywhere near as common as Illiyan’s initial backstory would suggest), astropaths had to be trained from childhood, soul-bonded with the Emperor and were far too precious to maintain in combat roles, and space marine librarians were gene-enhanced super soldiers like any other space marine, and not drawn from unaugmented humans. Between that and Tigurius being introduced, Illiyan was about as close to being retconned as it’s possible to be in 40K without being a book written by Ian Watson, but his reintroduction as an Aeldari diplomat assigned to Guilliman is a really fun way to make him ‘fit’ in modern 40K, and it also makes it believable how enough games of Telephone might make it possible for an imperial scribe documenting the ultramarines to grow convinced they have a half-eldar in their command structure (particularly given that 10 years after Dawn of Fire, in Godblight, Guilliman’s staff are much more at ease with Illiyan’s presence, even if they still don’t like him very much!

Guilliman is really trying to do reasonable diplomacy which he was always built for but waa forbidden in old times from negotiating with aliens. What he could have accomplished had the Imperium sought alien allies in the Great Crusade.
Immensely. The Aeldari have some insane tech and hundreds of extremely skilled seers, plus a whole planet-sized library containing every bit of knowledge there is to know on chaos. Their problem is minuscule quantity, with the Imperium to cover for that, and the Aeldari’s knowledge on how to deal with Chaos, both would benefit greatly.

Imperium, Eldar, and Ork alliance. With Necron meddling. That would end the threat of chaos for sure IMO. Tyranids though? Nurgle hard counters the hive fleets by feeding them glorious warp conjured poisons and disease that is beyond their 'mundane' biology's ability to adapt themselves to fight against. The shadow of the warp does nothing against conjured plagues after they are no longer immaterial. Perhaps it would take an understanding with both fathers, golden-glowing and sickly-green, to truly save the fate of the galaxy. How that would happen is beyond me.
The high lords also treated the mechanicum with disdain (post heresy) until they marched a fracking titan up to the chamber and reminded them why their alliance was needed for survival.
An alliance of the Eldar and Humanity against the great enemy is my main wish for the future story of Warhammer. Grim dark and all but the power of that alliance is to much to forgo. Best damn military on one side. Best and safest damn psykers on the other. Finally a relief from the downward spiral of the imperium.
The alliance with Tau could be good too. Their technology is superior and safer to use than Imperium's, and is not driven by religious dogma that Mechanicus has.

Little did the High Lords know, the Emperor of Mankind didn't really want to kill all Xenos. The Eldar are among the Xenos that he would gladly make friends with. Not to mention before the Heresy, there is a section in the Imperial Palace that is designated for Xenos ambassadors.
It is Canon that the Emperor built the webway to quench his thirst for thicc Eldar booty.

@@leibniz4455they are the faction with the most knowledge of chaos period. Probably even more than CSM. They do own the Black Library after all.
Oh, good to know. Thanks!
For me in my head canon I always thought Guilmain was the ONE primarch or at least one of the only ones that the Eldar NEVER played Eldar games with, the others they might manipulate or lead by the nose to get what they want but not Guilmain

The Eldar want to not go extinct and they'll do whatever it takes for that to happen.
Even if that means fighting with humans.
because he is the play
Eh I would say maybe Magnus would be one they could talk too, well pre fall Magnus of course. The Imperium having the Aeldar as allies would be so clutch. They are the faction most suited on eliminating Sla'anesh. The Imperium has a huge and vast resource and power to bolster and complement the Aeldar's.
I'm not immensely aware of Aeldar lore, but aren't they at risk of just straight up having thier soul snatched when they die? that might be the drukari, I know it's one of them
@@Lunalander226it’s true of all the Eldar, they just have different methods of dealing with it.
Here's the problem: They'd have no reason to keep the alliance when the threat of Slaanesh is gone. Given their history of fucking over humanity which began during the age of strife, it'd be foolish to trust them so wholeheartedly.
