Scotty Kilmer do you know how I would be getting water [when it Rains] On my driver side front & back floor...? Please help it's 2007 Mitubishi Gallant.. It just started happening
Thank you so much, you really don't understand my appreciation for you and youre videos. They have inspired me to DIY projects. You are one amazing man.
when you stop putting water in, it drains back out the hose. The carpet is already wet, a little more aint a gonna hurt it any more. it works fine if you do it a couple times a year to flush it out too
Hey thanks Scotty you're a legend! I have an SW20 MR2 which is similar to this gen of Celica in some ways. Now to get some hose to squirt up the drain hose - or would you recommend using a compressor? My neighbour has one. I'd like to add that removing the wiper cowl is a good idea too as you can get a hose in there or a screwdriver or something as there's bound to be debris and blockages in there.
nice!!! i will try it this weekend. on my car though condensation also builds outside the metal housing.. I would imagine that this is because the cold water gets stuck in the drain and not getting out of the system, am I right? Very helpful videos, Scotty! Thanks.
Hey Scotty, you always help me with my car problems so I thought I'll help you with yours. To stop the bird crap from hitting your car, you can buy a car port from Harbor Freight and set it up to protect your car from both the crap and leaves. Or you can just take out the birds using a large pellet rifle.
Yes, if it doesn't drain though the drain tube, water will splash from the evap to the carpet. But dodges hide those drains in places that often require removal of the evaporator core to clean em unfortunately for you.
Hey Scotty, I got a car issue that is driving me crazy right now. I got a beater car a 1988 Plymouth Reliant around two months ago. Power steering had a leak so had to get the pump replaced due to a bad main seal. So the mechanic did that this week. But when I got the car back, the engine light was on and the engine is running like crap now. They did a code scan and got two codes. One for a cracked breather tube by the throttle body injection and the other for the MAP sensor/ vaccum leak.
It's funny I have this problem! I figured it had to do something with the AC. So I stopped running it but I would still get leaks. But now I know what to do. Thanks Scotty!
Hey thanx for that Scotty , I've only just recently bought a used trade in 1999 Mitsubishi Galant or Magna executive manual relatively cheap on auction with relatively low miles looks the part and drives great to which I had only just noticed this same issue happening now myself as well, Looks like the previous owner might had freaked out being another minor issue I have come across besides worn brake pads and a couple of tyres and shot rid of this vehicle and traded on the quick because of what I feel may have been this issue as I've only just now noticed some cuts in the carpet possibly from them trying to source the issue to which it does stink as I honestly thought myself after having recently noticed as well were most likely going to be an expensive fix myself, Thanx again and keep that good as well as free advice flowing m8 your a Champion and I've always got time to listen and hear what ever it is you may have come in handy next to say for current as well as future reference Easy step by step instructive as well as comical advice which is always good to see that even the goofiest of dumb arses typically like me at times can relate too Awesome stuff
Only bad thing is that it is only 6 month old carpet as I just restored the car after it sat for 3 years. Do you have any tips on getting the water out and drying the carpet? Also thanks for the really fast answer. Love your channel and have learned a lot.
Everybody's talking about water on the passenger's floor board. My water was on the Driver's floor board. Mechanic said from windshield, rain water. But hadn't rained for days. Only flooded when a/c was on, so figured clogged a/c drain line. I first tried unclogging it with water from a garden hose, didn't do the job. Jacked the car up and used coil cleaning foam in the can up the rubber drain hose. Had to use 1.5 cans to get it flowing freely. If you idle the car over pavement on a hot day and notice no water under your car after 10 minutes, it's probably a clogged drain line. Now I have puddles of water outside the car instead of inside of it! Halleluiah!
ty, also mine was clogged so bad, second time I used wire hanger (curled at the end so as not to puncture anything in there) that helped unclog it along with the foam. Good luck!
Thank you Mr. Scotty for responding. one more question I replace the battery and the alternator but the battery light still comes on, could it be the wire?
realize the tanks are filled only so far, if you fill em to the top, they will leak out when the system gets pressure. Only fill to the full line when hot.
Scotty you need to do more videos or atleast make them longer! I've already watched all 180, I need more of you man, watching your video's are addicting! LOL :P
Scotty I just replaced my radiator and thermostat in my car. The new radiator is plastic with aluminum and the old one was all copper. I’m told the copper ones are “indestructible” meaning they can be rebuilt and rebuilt forever. Is it worth getting it rebuilt by a radiator shop? The copper one is a lot heavier than the new one.
Hey scotty. Right now I drive a 90 Integra GS with about 190k on it and minor problems but im tired of putting money into the car. I got offered a 02 kia sprectra for trade with a 138k on it. Does that sound like a deal being that I'm not looking to spend anymore money, but get something better, or do you recommend just saleing it for about 1500 and spending like 2k on celica or a nissan or something. Anything helps and your videos have been helping me learn about cars. Thanks buddy
I have a 1989 corvette and every once in a while my carpets feel wet. I know it is not the heater core as I just replaced it and I pressure tested it and it is fine and also does not have any kind of coolant smell to it. I see how you did it in this video, how does that actually work? If you force water into the drain hose wouldn't that overflow it onto the carpet anyway? Also were did the water drain from if you had the one hose covering the other? Thanks.
good video on the drain valve for ac curious do they not place a drain valve for the heat core as well because i would imagine the heating radiator could accumlate moisture/water to ... definitely not in the magnitude of an evaporator could but still. do they uses the same drain for both usually?...Or is this not true if the heat core is dripping water its going to be a leak of some magnitude and one would need to replace the heat core itself at that point
Hey Scotty Nice Videos Keep EM Coming I Enjoy Them I Have A Question I Have A 1999 Blazer When I Go To Start The Car It Just Clunks Like Its Caught Up On Something Any Suggestions Thanks In Advance With Any Help!
I had this exact same thing happen to me awhile back. Got it fixed, but had postnasal drip/itchy throat symptoms appear alongside the water pooling in the passenger floorboard. Scotty Kilmer what do you think?
Hi Scotty , Can you please suggest what is the special adhesive (rubber type) used outside body at the edges/interconnects between 2 metal sheets for sealing off the water.
take the seat out, remove the carpet, dry it in a drier or let it hang and dry and remove the jute under it and do the same or throw the jute away (jute is the backing under the carpet.)
Do you happen to know if this cleaning is any more complex for 1991 to 1995 Toyota MR2s? I'm tempted to take out the dash to clean mine, but I doubt that I'll enjoy taking out the dash.
Same here! If this is correct, why is the driver side soaked?! I didn't have problems until my friend's son did an oil change. --not talking to friend and angry. Both the driver's side and the passenger side are soaked. We don't park much under a tree. I live in an apartment. Son said to have the indicator checked but the coolant runs completely through it! Then the cd player/dash radio thing says low coolant. I don't have the money to get a mechanic! 06 Malibu
+Sheryl L Knapp run your car tomorrow in the heat. Park the car on clean pavement or concrete. The ac should drip clear water just on the passenger side near front wheel. If no drips, it is running inside into your floor (similar to a toilet clog). But if your car is dripping colored (orange, a green, or a red) that is antifreeze. test by running car but no air on. I would assume changing the oil filter... the tight space behind engine caused a crack in a elbow pipe from pulling.
I'm sorry. I'm freaked out. I let a friend's son change my oil and he changed the oil filter. If he cracked my radiator, then I'm totally screws. I'm out of a job and my mom helped me pay off the car. Now this? I'm broke and scared to death
hey scotty i tried this trick with a powerful air compressor and nothing came out, then i used a water hose and sprayed alot of water just like you did in the video and water did not clear, most of it leaked into the car instead of outside. it keeps leaking right where the evaporater case connects to the firewall. should i spray more water or take apart the case and see whats going on
Hi Scotty,I have the same problem,I put a garden hose on the a/c drain but all the water get into the car,I have fear to start the a/c now,do you think the trouble will be worst? I did the same that you do in the video
na, you do it carefully and it all rushes out. Poking it generally won't move the stuff enough out of the way. And really, it's only water, clean water from a hose, hurts nothing
Hi there, so my 2010 chevy malibu back right side carpet gets wet and I can't seem to find the problem and solution to this. Could it be that the ac drain is clogged? Is this the only method to "unclogged" the drain?
Water gets in through a small hole in the carpet on my drivers side only. Anyway to patch that hole? Would the dealership charge an arm and leg to fix it? When it rains the floor gets soaked. 04 vw beetle.
@scottykilmer I have an 02 Pontiac Grand Prix, and i was filling up the little tank where the coolant goes and it started leaking, should I take it in, or jack it up inspect the problem and probably replace the tank?
When I get that fixed I'm thinking to dry it out, I've heard about methods like putting the AC on air-cycling for a while and then on fresh air etc. Got any methods?
Sounds good, but not so easy in my 2007 Prius, any ideas???? Iv'e tried sop vac hooked to rebber drain hose but I think the clog is in the evaporator since the rubber drain hose was dry the second time I tried to clear it. I have been warned not to disconnect the rubber hose from the metal nipple it fits on to (presumbaly on the evaporator) because it is so extremely difficult to get it re-attached. CAn I just squirt the water hose into the rubber drain hose that goes into the firewall drain hole????
thanks for posting this video! I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ES, and my mechanic said he "can't get the clog out". He showed me under the car where the drain hose was (it was really short) and it was at an angle he couldn't get at too easily to blow out the clog. Needless to say, my a/c is still backing up it's drainage into my car as soon as I shut off my car 😖 and where I live, WE NEED A/C in our cars, it's just TOO HOT here. Have any ideas or experience with the 99-01 Galant with this issue? Also my DRIVER side is the side that's filling with water, not my passenger side Thanks
05 dodge stratus and Momz, I don't even know what dry feet are anymore.lol My driveway is on a steep hill so I come out everyday to a puddle in my backseat that flows to the front as soon as I throw on brakes. 😞
my 88 ranger did the same thing and it took me forever to find the leak. turns out, around the cabin breather was rusted out inside those vents where the wiper arms come out. so I just sprayed a thick layer or flex seal through those vents around the cabin breather and it stopped
@scottykilmer HI scotty thanks for the video. Im a big fan. I have this problem but my mechanic put pressureized air through the drain hole. But everytime I turn my A/C on it still leaks water into the floor of my car, the leak is very big and its a stream of water everytime it does this, but the car does drain the ac water on the outside. What can this be? I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0
hey Scott how are yah. i have a toyota camry 2012 which i dry vac twice already each time pulled out a gallon of water. checked the plugs underneath car and seams that they are ok. i am assuming this water is either coming from the ac hose or some sort of drain near wipers is clogged.. any help for this specific model would be greatly appreciated. regards, Joe
Heya Scotty, im 26 and i've been a mechanic for 10 or so years, ive never heard of flushing the ac drain back through the drain pipe, wouldnt this just fill up the hvac box inside the car and spew water everywhere?? i usually just poke a ziptie or peice of wire up there to unblock it and it seems to work fine?
On a 2000-ish Corolla there's dew coming on the inside on the window, on everything from hot sunny California summers to cold arctic winters, so need to turn on the window blower often. is it supposed to be like that?
Bad Dog, No, Bad owner for locking dog in car. Resolve cleaner works pretty good for stains, but the smell may take a pro to use his equipment to get rid of that.
Scotty can you please let me know where I can find the heater core for a 06 Hyundai sonata because my driver carpet is wet and it looks like antifreeze
tons of things can go wrong on those keyless ignition system, I think they're a really stupid invention myself. Cause when they break, open that wallet and start spending. Find a guy with a machine as in my video "fixing modern car using high level scan computers" to analyze your system, it's the only way to find out for sure
Hey Scotty I have an 89 Ford Crown Victoria and the passenger side front and rear passenger seat has a puddle of water...where is the hose located on this model
Hey Scotty how do take care of a gas smell when my car starts running.. I have an 89 Ford Crown Victoria 5.0 V8 Ltd is because the charcoal canister is old and needs replacing...if so how can I do it on my own and will it be easy thanks..
Hey Scotty, my dad has a 1992 Buick roadmaster 350 v8 (200,000+ miles) and a few days ago when he was leaving work, he pressed the gas and he said the car felt like it had no power, very slow, and wouldn't go in reverse either. What could the problem be??
hi. I have Honda civic 2000. now the passenger side carpet is very wet. Also notice some bubbles in the wet area. what do u think is the problem and how to fix it.
+S Tenvis check for a clogged AC drain hose if it only happens with heat or ac on. If even without those on, often a leaking heater core that has coolant in it even when heater is turned off
Scott! Do you have a video on how to properly maintain a vehicle. Like a checklist of some sort. Total noob man!! I got my hands on a mint 1999 trans am with only 60k. Id like to keep it mint and running forever!! lol
This happened to me, water leaked into my passenger side foot area as I pulled away, but I don't have AC, just hot and cool air from outside. Is it rainwater? (It had been heavily raining).
that is not a raggedy ass car. It's a 94 celica with 235 thousand miles on it and runs like a top.I paid 250 bucks for it years ago. I could buy 10 rolls royces with cash if I wanted to, but to me that's a waste. I'd rather travel and see the world on vacation and help my kids out buying houses and raising kids myself.

Damn where do i find # 4, i check Auto Zone and Pep Boys and there all out 🤣
Will do Scotty, thanks for all your help its greatly appreciated! We need more people like you in this world, it would be a better place if there was.
Thank you so much, you really don't understand my appreciation for you and youre videos. They have inspired me to DIY projects. You are one amazing man.
Scotty, you are the man! Thanks for your video. I discovered this on Father's Day, not fun. But, your video gives me hope!!! God Bless.
some cars have ac drains on the driver's side. If not, windshield seals often leak and crack
when you stop putting water in, it drains back out the hose. The carpet is already wet, a little more aint a gonna hurt it any more. it works fine if you do it a couple times a year to flush it out too
Hey that's the aslyum from Ketchikan, that's where I live!
Great video Scotty! You should post a video on how to test sensors to see if they're good or not
Hey thanks Scotty you're a legend!
I also get water in the footwell of the drivers floor! I think that is clogged drains, as the MR2 has many fidgety drains!
nice!!! i will try it this weekend.
on my car though condensation also builds outside the metal housing..
Or you can just take out the birds using a large pellet rifle.
it does fix it, as the crud gets broken up and drains out the hole. Just flush it a few times.
You are so full of life, like your videos.
Thanks for the video. I had this problem on a Lexus SC430. Can I use the same fix?
Yes, if it doesn't drain though the drain tube, water will splash from the evap to the carpet. But dodges hide those drains in places that often require removal of the evaporator core to clean em unfortunately for you.

Hey thanx for that Scotty , I've only just recently bought a used trade in 1999 Mitsubishi Galant or Magna executive manual relatively cheap on auction with relatively low miles looks the part and drives great to which I had only just noticed this same issue happening now myself as well,
Looks like the previous owner might had freaked out being another minor issue I have come across besides worn brake pads and a couple of tyres and shot rid of this vehicle and traded on the quick because of what I feel may have been this issue as I've only just now noticed some cuts in the carpet possibly from them trying to source the issue to which it does stink as I honestly thought myself after having recently noticed as well were most likely going to be an expensive fix myself,
Thanx again and keep that good as well as free advice flowing m8 your a Champion and I've always got time to listen and hear what ever it is you may have come in handy next to say for current as well as future reference
Easy step by step instructive as well as comical advice which is always good to see that even the goofiest of dumb arses typically like me at times can relate too

Lori Romano same mine is both side driver and passenger
not armor all, it has alcohol in it and actually dries it out. I use modern uv protectant spray by Meguilars
scotty Kilmer wasn't a leg!!!!!!!!! thanks Scotty I found this really helpful
Ok, I'll try my best to do it. I will have to let it air dry as I put in mass backing carpet so the back is already attached.
Thanks, Stephen
thanks scotty by the way the PEAK coolant stuff never heard it in my country
Thanks for posting this. I have the same issue. You are the best.
Same problem, water leaking on passengers side, parking under trees , lol . Thanks for explaining !
How does it drive and whats maintenance and parts costs like? Lovely looking car the celica's
Thank you Mr. Scotty for responding. one more question I replace the battery and the alternator but the battery light still comes on, could it be the wire?
What a neat crepe myrtle. That looks like it took a while.
realize the tanks are filled only so far, if you fill em to the top, they will leak out when the system gets pressure. Only fill to the full line when hot.
Hello Scotty! can you make a video about using touch up paint the right way?

will have to do that, thanks
if it didn't do that before, i'd assume the mechanic broke stuff changing the pump. I'd take it back and have him check for what he did wrong.

05 dodge stratus and Momz, I don't even know what dry feet are anymore.lol My driveway is on a steep hill so I come out everyday to a puddle in my backseat that flows to the front as soon as I throw on brakes. 😞
often a worn out starter, pray it's that and not a blown engine that's locked up
this is a video made pre gt 500, next week it will be bac.
air blows through there anyway, try spraying some lysol into the vents to kill the mold
my 88 ranger did the same thing and it took me forever to find the leak. turns out, around the cabin breather was rusted out inside those vents where the wiper arms come out. so I just sprayed a thick layer or flex seal through those vents around the cabin breather and it stopped
good idea thank you but I have a question, how you can dry the water under the carpet and the the bad smell - thank you
@scottykilmer HI scotty thanks for the video.
Thanks. Will try that
hey Scott how are yah. i have a toyota camry 2012 which i dry vac twice already each time pulled out a gallon of water. checked the plugs underneath car and seams that they are ok. i am assuming this water is either coming from the ac hose or some sort of drain near wipers is clogged.. any help for this specific model would be greatly appreciated. regards, Joe
My 2002 buick regal is leaking water or antifreeze. I just chnaged the heater core before that.hoses are tight. Where else should i look?
On a 2000-ish Corolla there's dew coming on the inside on the window, on everything from hot sunny California summers to cold arctic winters, so need to turn on the window blower often. is it supposed to be like that?
try brake cleaning spray
You're awesome! Just thought you should know.
Bad Dog, No, Bad owner for locking dog in car. Resolve cleaner works pretty good for stains, but the smell may take a pro to use his equipment to get rid of that.
Thanks Mr. Scotty
you rock scottyyy !!!! great tips and nice videos :)
THANK YOU.
jack it up in the air, it's on the passenger side you can see it better that way.
Scotty can you please let me know where I can find the heater core for a 06 Hyundai sonata because my driver carpet is wet and it looks like antifreeze
do my video tests "how to fix an overheating car" has to be one of em.
tons of things can go wrong on those keyless ignition system, I think they're a really stupid invention myself. Cause when they break, open that wallet and start spending. Find a guy with a machine as in my video "fixing modern car using high level scan computers" to analyze your system, it's the only way to find out for sure
should be on the passenger side, jack it up high and crawl under to look for the black hose coming out of the firewall
GRE Job Scotty keep up the excellent work:D
Id like to keep it mint and running forever!! lol
You had me at the intro. First Strike!!!
Dude , you rock ! Thanks
I have a 2002 Saturn L100. No leaves. No drain hose either. Any ideas as to where the water is coming from inside the cab??
This happened to me, water leaked into my passenger side foot area as I pulled away, but I don't have AC, just hot and cool air from outside. Is it rainwater? (It had been heavily raining).
that is not a raggedy ass car. It's a 94 celica with 235 thousand miles on it and runs like a top.I paid 250 bucks for it years ago. I could buy 10 rolls royces with cash if I wanted to, but to me that's a waste. I'd rather travel and see the world on vacation and help my kids out buying houses and raising kids myself.
