When I learned to paint my dad bought the eastwood spray gun and your videos of it were the only thing that allowed me to confidently set up an acceptable spray pattern and feel I could do it. After a fair amount of practice I can say I am a competent automotive painter
I've watched you for years on the powerblock and I have never been ok with bodywork. Using the knowledge I've learned from you I was able to replace the rocker panels on my daughters car last year and they look great! Your knowledge sharing made me comfortable and confident in tackling that project. Thanks for all you do!!
Kevin I love that you are constantly demanding the use of protective equipment. We only get 2 eyes and 2 lungs and 2 ears, and I wanna see stuff and hear stuff and breathe when I'm old!
I meant it with nothing but respect brother! I watched you many years ago when I was getting started in the industry, early 90s. I had kinda forgotten about you until your collaboration with Vice Grip, and it all came back to me. The industry has changed so much in that time but much has stayed the same. Bless you for your efforts in influencing the young guys coming up in a positive manner. Hard work but SO gratifying!!!
I bought videos from you way back when you had a mullet and through your great teachings and professionalism i could paint a car in my garage (and be safe doing it) and i have painted several cars since with great results, very fun learning to do this and having videos to always go back to and study again is such a good way of learning.
I love what you do, and thank you for doing this for years. You've imparted knowledge of DIY bodywork that most don't know. I'm reassured and learn tips with most videos. What you do is labor intensive and I'm glad you're still able to do it. Thank you, because many can't physically perform anymore. This is why you should listen to people with experience. They made mistakes and learned from it.
Shoot Kevin, I remember buying all your Paintucation videos over 20+ years ago when you still had long hair lol.. I also remember talking to you online whether it was on autobody 101 or on your forum site.. You've come a long way and glad to see your achievements.. Keep up the great work!!
Love that your making regular videos again Kevin and I saw you using Dupli-Color on your touch up video! I had a great time with you when you were on Power Block. Always good to see you at SEMA as well. Keep up the great content!.....Brian
@paintucation Kevin thanks for your on camera career recap aswell as the trip down memory lane I cant believe its been that long that Ive been watching you/you've been on camera teaching all of us automotive diy enthusiasts how to properly do body repairs & bodywork aswell as the proper painting process plus some of your trade secrets over the last 20 years.. Looking forward to many more years of watching & learning your trade secrets & how to properly do all these things your awesome at doing & your great at teaching those skills to us diyers aswell..
you seem to ride the line between corporate sellout, and amazing skills. you are one of the best in the industry. you inspired generations, its just sad that todays adults cant change a lightbulb without a $75 housecall being involved. please keep teaching, please keep doing exactly what you do. Thank you!!!
Great video Kevin. You managed to clear up some of my questions that I’ve had over the years and clear up some of my concerns. I’m sure glad to see you turning out more valuable videos for us. I’ve only been watching you since you were with Eastwood but I have seen some of your earlier stuff too as well as your paintucation videos that I purchased some time back. Keep up the great work.
Kevin, I had no idea of the number of videos on YT with you working your magic until you did that colab with Derek on that Ford pickup, which turned out beautiful BTW!!. I have been on YT for over 15yrs and have not 1nce seen a recommended video from you with YT alithrogram, so I believe YT isn't giving you a fair shake for the amount of content available. Im sure I speak for thousands here by saying it sucked when you went bye bye from PN, but now, since just typing in your name on YT, thousands of videos popped up. I almost feel as if I have reunited with an old friend and dont have to wait till Sunday morning for a new episode😊. Looks like I'll be busy watching some videos for a while....probably days. Keep up the great work, Kevin👍👍
I'm just learning how to become visible on TH-cam, guys like Derek are so kind to help guide me and I'm grateful!! I also feel like I've found a home again, and despite being a part of thousands of other people's videos with millions of views, I can now dive in to producing content that I'm in control of and that I'm proud of!! Thanks for your kind words, and for subscribing to my channel!!! It means alot! Google/TH-cam recognizes growth and hopefully will see what's happening here in a short time... im stoked for the future here!!
I would love to see you explain on and off Dolly dent removal. Also slapping files. I was at Eastwood some years back and I'll never forget the wall of air technique you explained. Keep up the good work
I have even older ones @paintucation aka bandboy ! Buried somewhere in my basement, I still have old vhs (or is it dvd?) from late 90's/early 2000? I bought my 69 Camaro project rustbucket in 2000 and started visiting your forum, so sometime back then. You have a mullet in those original vid's a left over of 80's 49St Mining Co bandboy days...lol :). I gotta go digging and find those oldies!
I had a 2001 Focus... KONA edition... it was a great little car and i miled-it up bigtime going to back & Forth to Knoxville to shoot my first TV series on DIY.
I have a question I am sure you already answered... I was looking at painting a number of small items. Differential covers, valve covers, brackets and do not want to take out a spray gun and expensive paint to do a few parts. What are your thoughts on using rattle cans. Color match isn't really important for they will be in areas hard to see. Is there a certain brand or product type that will work better than others That way I could paint when necessary
Hey Kevin, what software are you using to do these talking videos. The sound is coming through as mono and not stereo, seems like it's just the left channel.
Please tell me about this! I Grew up in the Okanagan, fond fond memories of thevalley and all the things... Picking fruit, tying grape-vines, windy roads! :)
hi Kevin great suff i have 1982 hariey 1200 sportster with brush aluminum covers they are very pitted how cam i brig them back ti life i dont want to replace them$$$$$$$$$$ thanks john lombardi canandaigua ny
Haa!!! That one was not my doing. Back in my Rock N Roll days I was "KT" and it's kind of a nod to that. I always say "My friends call me KT..." so if you see me out in the world give me a shout!😄
Hi Kevin. I remember watching you restore a Harley Panhead, but I can't remember the name of the show. Is there any way to get those episodes? Thanks .
Sadly, that show is archived somewhere at DIY vaults... a couple of the episodes are up on TH-cam, but not any of the (3) seasons we did. R.I.P. Dunk... you were a treasure buddy, I'm glad to have known you. :)
So cool seeing the old footage and it is still relevant today. So cool! Nice video!!

Kevin I love that you are constantly demanding the use of protective equipment. We only get 2 eyes and 2 lungs and 2 ears, and I wanna see stuff and hear stuff and breathe when I'm old!
Let’s get this hard working guy to 100k!!!
That would be amazing!!😊
Thanks for sharing Kevin.
I like the new series "What would it take" if you find this content is helpful, I'll be watching those too. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback! I've got another one coming up soon. :)
Kevin I think you are the most infamous famous person I’ve ever known. Bless you brother for all you’ve done over the years!
That's a strange sounding but still generous compliment! LOL! Thanks for being with me on the journey! :)
I meant it with nothing but respect brother! I watched you many years ago when I was getting started in the industry, early 90s.

This is the Kevin that I remember from my late 20's!
Um.... In my mind I STILL look like that!!!!😁
That was a walk down memory lane!! Thank You for that. Can't believe the rubber eraser is that old.
I KNOW!!!! I just used it again in my College Collision repair Training system ( soon to be released!!)
I bought videos from you way back when you had a mullet and through your great teachings and professionalism i could paint a car in my garage (and be safe doing it) and i have painted several cars since with great results, very fun learning to do this and having videos to always go back to and study again is such a good way of learning.
Thanks Tom!!! I really enjoy the process of doing this as well, thanks for being there for the ride!! Its been incredible. 😊

I appreciate the straight talk on cost vs value. It was all spot on! And you answered the obvious setup question of the Tele Awards. Bravo!
One of my favorite hosts and over all nice intelligent guy. Kevin Tits is the best!

Fantastic, what a great collection.
I remember seeing ads back in the 1990s for Paintucation on VHS, and you were rocking a Mullet!!!
Hey...we were ALL rocking mullets back then 😅
Good stuff, Kevin. Thanks for sharing.

I still have my Paintucation VHS tapes. :)
WOW!!! That's from the way-back machine!!! Cool!
You need to show that rust repair video when you had very long & very blonde hair, looks like mid or early 1990’s!
Great video Kevin. You managed to clear up some of my questions that I’ve had over the years and clear up some of my concerns. I’m sure glad to see you turning out more valuable videos for us. When you popped up on ViceGrip Garage, I thought you looked and sounded familiar.

Thanks, Kevin! I really learned a lot from this video! I especially liked the segment about buffing and polishing oxidized paint
I remember the first time I saw you on TV Kevin was with Steve Magnante restoring an old Thunderbird
Wow!!! Thats awesome!! I remember like it was yesterday. 👍
I remember Kevin off the DIY channel back in the late 90's

We’ve all gotten older but the processes haven’t really changed.
What was that car that you did the pin stripe on? I remember seeing this episode years ago.
I had a 2001 Focus... KONA edition... it was a great little car and i miled-it up bigtime going to back & Forth to Knoxville to shoot my first TV series on DIY.

All that work and info makes a guy thirsty. Time for cold snacks
You get me... you really GET ME!!!! LOL!
I have my paintucation DVDs from 2006. However, I no longer have a dvd player LoL.
I have a question I am sure you already answered... I was looking at painting a number of small items. Differential covers, valve covers, brackets and do not want to take out a spray gun and expensive paint to do a few parts.

That way I could paint when necessary
Rattle paint fades in sun as I have found out.
YUP!!

My mistake in editing
I know where you're from British Columbia. We used to hang out together.
Please tell me about this! I Grew up in the Okanagan, fond fond memories of thevalley and all the things... Picking fruit, tying grape-vines, windy roads! :)

When do you think you're cool enough to give yourself a nickname like KT😂
Haa!!! That one was not my doing. Back in my Rock N Roll days I was "KT" and it's kind of a nod to that. I always say "My friends call me KT..." so if you see me out in the world give me a shout!😄
Ehhh.. I think you lost your touch. I think I should do a body restoration on my Chevelle to prove that you still got it. 😁
Hi Kevin. I remember watching you restore a Harley Panhead, but I can't remember the name of the show. Is there any way to get those episodes? Thanks .
