Restoring Derek's Obs Chassis: Watch Us Bring New Life To The Frame And Bed Floor!
มุมมอง 42Kวันที่ผ่านมา
What's a Craigslist rebuild? @ViceGripGarage owns the copyright on that, so we just rolled with it.....or, rattled with it. :) you'll be surprised how great the frame looks after some simple prep and @axalta satin black spray can paint! @UPOLRaptor gets sprayed on the bed floor, after we play with a @esabweldingandcutting plasma cutter and trim some fat. You get to meet Walker in this one too. ...

GC 11 Can I find the Hidden VIN? Why does it even matter? The answer may surprise you!!!
มุมมอง 45K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
As we dive further into this project, I remember the last 2nd Gen Camaro I built, ZedSled, and the panic i was in @mecum Indy, waiting to register my vehicles for auction. They flagged the sled because I moved VIN tags for the restoration and replaced them later... FYI I was NOT supposed to do that. It was a butt-clincher for sure!!! But thanks to @Bding93 Randy Borcherding, and the inspectors ...
Mastering Sheet Metal Welding: Must-know Tech Tips!
มุมมอง 14K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
Full disclosure... I'm a student of welding, and I really need to brush up on my TIG skills, but I'm pretty good with MIG welding sheet metal. I've had questions about Rosette welds (plug welds) so it made sense to do this video. If you apply these techniques, I know you'll get better at welding! Thanks for watching!! Check out my Body Panel Replacement DVD or Streamed video at www.paintucation...

Always buy more safety glasses when you go to Harbor Freight (or any other place that sells them cheap). I set mine down and can't find them, oh well grab another pair from the PPE drawer next to the toolbox.I'll find them later.
Cars really bring unlike people together. You speak near perfect English. Derek on the other hand has is own language. For some reason he calls spark plugs, Sparkles, its the oddest thing😮
Saturday yet!!!
Hey Kevin. Just love your style. A very important reference you made to the so called ""reality" shows that just gloss over the hard yards like proper preparation and cleanliness. I'm usually pretty fussy, but you've reminded me to keep on being so, and not skimp on the hard stuff. More power to you. Steve (New Zealand).
Thanks Steve! That means alot! I'm not busting Cybertrucks or off-roading GT Mustangs, so we probably won't ever get a million views, but I enjoy this! It feels good to keep it honest. Thanks for watching!
I’ll stay away from the truck big time I don’t want to even be responsible for breathing or a fingerprint on that thing😬 but seriously that thing is so kick butt💯👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You should wear knee pads or use a foam pad. Will save your knees from failing earlier than usual.
Keep it the way it is
I remember watching you before the snow color settled in the hair. Thanks for entertaining me for all those years
Love your show, Kevin. But why are you worried about burning through the undercoating when you already burned through it with the plasma torch? I mean, burned is burned, isn't it?
It's a sprayed bedliner on the bottom of the bed... Not just undercoat... catalyzed bedliner. Would probably start on fire if I tried to weld without stripping the bedliner off... big can of worms. 3 steps backward if I weld... Fiberglass on pinholes is a very effective moisture barrier. Thanks!
@paintucation Thanks!
Can’t wait 👍
Great video Kevin! I like all the bodywork tips and sanding technique tips. That’s definitely an area that I can afford to learn a thing or three. I appreciate you showing us how to get out of a corner. I also appreciate you showing the pace you are working which can help give a perspective of how long this really takes to get a nice product. That’s a great idea because some people might be shocked to learn that it’s not as bad as they thought it would be. Also I like the “I like sanding”. I tell myself something similar when I’m sanding fiberglass. 🤣 you got me with that one there. 🤣🤣 keep up the awesome work and I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for us next!
Will you still call it the Garbage Camaro when it's finished? 🤔
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!
Rofl, you gotta fix the thumbnail pic.
No drill tip, but a great (and true) automotive drill story. Back in the 1970s, when I was a tech in a Ford dealership, one of our apprentices had to fix a water leak in the trunk of a Falcon. Taking an unapproved approach to remove the water from the spare wheel rescess, he drilled a hole using an air drill. Initially confused as to why the water level increased, it didn't take too long to realize that most of the trunk floor, including the spare wheel recess, was actually the fuel tank!
You may need to stop calling it garbage? I mean if you are honest with yourself it has come a long way and has made that turn. Keep it going always educational and informative
Calling it garbage reminds me of where it came from, and is kind of a fun reminder to all the people that told me to find a better car to save. :-) badge of honor if you will,
Can't wait!!!🎉
Let the spanking begin....thanks. eww!
OK, that was weird... LOL!!
I am digging this build. Craft guy... that is a lot of remediation.
You are just human. Good catch, I'm sure it will be some time before you do it again.
Your enthusiasm makes us look forward to the next video on this project.
Happy birthday! Mine is the 20th and we met years ago.
Sanding is therapeutic….that is the best part!!
With this show, I have been back on my project this year. Big accomplishment. 79 Camaro
How big you talking? I remember researching back in the day and people were able to fit 18x11's in the rear pushing the leafs inboard
Just scored me some factory jj 15x7 steel wheels for my 1980 z28, bueaty rings and cemter caps are mint
Thanks for showing real time work. Too many people think that a snap of the fingers and everything is done. A true craftsman will put in the hours and the pride. You my friend are a craftsman. Keep the videos coming. I’m learning so much.
Ya hurry up and get back on it
Not to get you away from any of your projects But you seem like the right guy that knows about this stuff If you’ve ever watched questionable garage, Jared there is building a 70 sport satellite you could at least help him out on how to realign all the rear panels. Like in the Camaro, he’s basically rebuilding the whole rear end and roof. You 2 seem like very similar guys, know a lot, into the old cars, do it all yourself - mostly alone in the videos among many other similarities.
Poor neglected Camero......... Where'd papa Kevin go? 😢
You Rock!
I get lackadaisical about finishing my custom Vette project and content like yours inspires me to get back at it 😂
This show gets me wanting to get back to my project.
Totally enjoying both builds
Can’t wait to see how the next step goes. Derek’s black truck is a project that I need to pay attention to as well.
We want you to get back on it too
For smaller parts i have the evaporust in a crockpot and heat the evaporust which removes the rust alot quicker
Don't threaten me with a good time. Look forward to new videos. Especially the Camaro.
Looking forward to the episodes on the Camaro, also wanted to say that I respect whatever pace you choose to take...I know my humble projects go fast and slow. Thanks for all the work.
Happy Tuesday - looking forward to Saturday morning! ~ Chuck
Please don't put 22 inch wheels on that beautiful car,it will kill it 💯 %. 17's at the most. They don't look good with 22's.just my opinion. No split bumpers had huge ugly rims on it when new,so why do it Kevin.? Kevin, I'm begging you to not go bigger than 17's
Brazilian Chevrolet ?
Let’s goooooo!!!
Coming this Saturday. Coffee and Camaros with Kevin (Saturday morning cartoons for grownups)
👍🏽
I wish I could spend my time doing this. 👍
Looks like an international with a ford cab!
Ooooh! Gotta love a stupid big tire! I appreciate the Saturday morning video drops. Takes me back to when my kid was tiny, watching powerblock!
Fuck yeah 👍 got 315's on my Vette and want bigger 😂
Kevin 👍🏻 🙋♂️ 👍🏻
Very cool Kevin!👍🏼
