Why it took so long for someone to figure out what petrolheads really wanted? It's not 1000hp, nor tons of electronics, it's just the pleasure of driving. Dallara might be the last hidden place of true Italian sports cars.
Nah, they always knew. It's just that multi millionaires live in this poser world where having 8 zillion horsepower on paper is more important than actual driving, and petrol heads are all broke asses with dodgey modified cars from 30 years ago.

Tbh I like this car much better than many other super and hyper sports cars. What makes this so much nicer is its simplicity just long straight lines with soft curves. Other modern super sports cars tend to have so much shapes and sharp shapes in combination with being somewhat bulky. It looks cool but it's not very nice, imo. Anyway this car is totally my cup of tea. Simple, in a good way, design, very light weight and a sensibly powered engine. Nothing else is needed.
I hope they make and sell tens of thousands of these! I love it! And the fact that it doesn't cost millions makes it perfect for all enthusiasts in all price ranges, as a fun car to own, or as a fun car to dream of owning one day. 👏
What a fine and outstanding car. I always loved the design and engineering behind Dallara Stradale and it's great that it does have a following and admiration. I really wish that Stradale will have a long production run
While I'm not a particular fan of how it looks (idk to me something just feels odd about it but can't really pin point it), the engineering of this car is marvelous. And the fact that you can "hot-swap" portions or entire sections of the car in a minute, without really needing special tools or knowledge, is absolutely fantastic. As an Italian I'm deeply proud of Dallara, and their history. Forza Dallara!!!!
@@pred7949 yep, typical of race car, and slap on a shell mentality of low cost design, aluminum frame great motor , slap a shell over it, i literally believe it is mounted to frame with bolts like a funny car, the shell could be anything, bobs big boy, airplane, tank, puppy...the 4x4 look is the clue

I like the idea to have the design phase include a sort of competition between artists and then building the car to reflect a blend of all the best ideas.
Dallara created a road car Colin Chapman would be proud of. Its not a car for every day says the owner. The car I own is under 800kg, its a 4 door hatchback, and has 0.66cc, I really love to drive it everyday and is a economical and practical car. I understand the appeal of this type of car and if I could afford to own more than 3 or 4 vehicles I would defiantly consider the Dallara. its a beautiful expression of Dallara racing. Bella macchina!
Yes there is, but unfortunately not the official one from the dallara challenge.. would be a shame to get a false impression just because driving a mock off and not the factory one🫣
Brilliant car, I would have this before any other new car. They GET that the driver is the one that drives the car not the electronics or the safety nanny state. Naysayers about power -perhaps bite your tongue before experiencing what a truly lightweight car with a rigid aerodynamic body, and racing designed suspension overseen by one of the masters can do to your soul.
Was that an electric jack that comes out of the vehicle to swap the wheels if/when needed? I don't think I've seen that in any consumer vehicle. What a great idea! 🖤🔥
i know you've been using the same engine since 2017 but is the ford ecoboost really the only engine you can put in the stradale? with your level of connection in racing, can you not find a better engine partner? i can think of about half a dozen transverse 2.0T engines that are not only more reliable but also argueably easier to squeeze more power out of than the ford 2.3T
when jaguar commited suicide, Dallara out there tryin to restore what really matter. When the first thing come from his mouth is pleasure of driving, I know he's doing something right
Not sure what motor it has other than 4L. Personally I'd put something light like a 3-5cyc with pneumatic valves or a multi-rotor Wankel, for peek power to weight. Love the design and look of the Dallara Stradale though. Trick suspension would be nice too (Hydraulic anti-sway systems, pull-rod and/or push-rod suspension).
Crazy you say that. I just made another comment before I read yours saying this car would be great with the Koenigsegg TFG. That's the 3-cylinder engine with Freevalve (camless). Also produces 600hp, which is nice, but not necessary for this lightweight chassis.
The only thing this car is lacking is a great engine. Imagine this lightweight chassis with a Koenigsegg TFG or the 4L Cosworth V12 from the GMA T.33 or T.50. That would give it way more drama (noise) and 600-650hp. Completely turn this into an absolute beast.
You live under a rock. Dallara makes/made cars for Indycars, F2, F3, Formula E, GP3, GP2 and many other series. Helped on the development of many rally cars chassis, made chassis for the KTM X-Bow and Alfa Romeo 4C. Want me to go on? 😂
If you haven't heard of Dallara, it is because you are not in the race industry, and you were not their target market. Google them, and you will be amazed.
He has clearly adopted the Gordon Murray Automotive ethos. It even looks a little like the T33. But, maybe, just maybe, he's priced it to where someday I can afford to buy one. Even the T33 starts at over a million dollars. The T50? Don't ask.
for all things considered it doesn't justify the price tag of 240k..... 1: power 2: re sale value 3: availability of parts 4: what the car comes with pretty much bare bone kit car with an expensive price tag.
What about the engine sound in this video? It is a turbo engine or naturally aspirated? What about the manual transmission? What about the meaning of having a carbon fiber dallara chassis? What about the weight under 900 kg? What about what does it means to drive a 800 kg downforce car? This is the best road legal sports car in the world, for many reasons even better than a gt3rs, but this video does not bear witness of it at all. Car videos should be done by car enthusiasts. This video would be fine for a KIA

Too weak engine. Mark my words. Needs a straight 6 or V6 with significantly more power. The 4 cylinder sounds very weak. Ask BMW for their legendary straight 6 from the M3….
The engine will need to be lightweight and have good heat rejection properties - and it is MUCH more difficult to do this with more cylinders….. unfortunately. Also they mentioned that the engine is mounted transversely (again like the Lamborghini Muria that Snr Dallara designed!) to allow enough room for the diffuser
