You can actually get a better end result by over filling the chip slightly, and then wet sanding with 1500/2000 and then cutting then polishing the paint

    1) Clean the area first to get rid of any grit. 2) You didn’t use the clean pen applicator nib to clean out any tiny bits of grit from the chip. 3) It’s easier to use a toothpick to apply the tiny amount of the primer/main colour to the chip.
Thank you so much for this. I have the same kit. The lad who sold me the kit said watch youtube firstly. I would have made a complete mess of my black car. Great tips.
When my hubby used this kit for his old car. It was like he splodged nail varnish all over . It was horrendous. 🙄😂

Bro YOU ARE AWESOME, AND A ABSOLUTE PROFESSIONAL, I BEEN DOING BODY WORK FOR OVER 35 YEARS. I HONESTLY DIDN'T BELIEVE IN SHORT CUTS, BUT IF YOU DO IT RIGHT LIKE YOU SAID, AND IF YOU DO IT CORRECTLY, YOU WON'T HAVE A PROBLEM, AND IT'S MUCH, MUCH MORE PROFITABLE THANK YOU BRO.

So I accidently found this out, but there is an other way to use the touch ups kits. The clear plastic lid can be removed and it can literally be used like a pen, found this less messier than the brush end.

my friend has offered to do my stone chips and scratches on my car, he said he will flat it back and polish it, hes very skilled like that, you can see on my car that someone else previously has touched it up on bonnet but you can see it's sitting high and some of it has come away no doubt they used primer 100% 😂 to be honest they made a right pigs ear out of it, thank you for the video though cause I have no doubt I would have followed halfords instructions if I was doing it myself and I would have had clear coat running on my body work 100%

Have tried to use stone chip repair kits in the past and have failed badly, chips covered but you can still see the repair, I used King Vehicle Damage Repair on some chips on a car I bought and didn't want to attempt anything myself, amazing job and well worth the money, Back to Fresh!!

You can mask tape around deep chips. Fill in deep chips with primer. Layer and dry. Sand the prime dried chip level with original paint level with wet 2500 grit and then dap on the final paint

The primer is needed if the stone chip has gone beyond the grey primer layer. Once bare metal is exposed, rust will form. It all depends on the stone chip. No primer is needed and will in fact raise the paint if its still there.
Wet sanding with a daisy is needed after to smooth is down flat, then buffed.

Thanks for the video. I wasn't aware such a product existed till now. I hope you might be able to answer my question.
I have small pits on my bonnet which I covered with T Cut scratch removing pen. It obviously did nothing for the pitting, but I hope it has stopped water and air penetration, to prevent corrosion begining.
There is a clear cover of the thick viscous liquid over the pits. Under the clear cover, I can see a dark(black) colour in the pits, among the original silver colour of my bonnet.
What is your opinion. Have I stopped corrosion and what should be the next steps I take?
The pits are about the size of the point of a ball point pen.
    Any advice will be appreciated.

It’s impossible to stop stone chips without a paint protection film , when your driving the stones will hit the car no matter what you do , so the only way to stop stone chips is don’t drive the car ever and leave it in a garage

@KINGVehicleDamageRepair Hi Scott, what is the best DIY tool for removing rust from a tiny chip and how would you check that rust has not spread under the surrounding paint? What is the best tool to sand and create a nice small circular localised area around the chip? (I heard using a fine grit that is hole punched and then the small circular punched piece is glued to a pencil end, to create a sanding tool), I would use an applicator swap and I have Chipex VW white silver metallic. I'm a slightly more advanced weekend warrior detailer btw. Also which areas do you cover, I'm considering a front bumper and bonnet re-spray on a 2018 WSM GTI, I'm North London / Hertfordshire based

I just had to remove superglue on a spanking brand new Caulk Grey Porsche 911. Owner took it through a swirl tunnel and it ripped the plastic gas filler insert right out. He glued it back in and a THICK glue run went 4 inches down the side of the car, but he did nothing. As a professional detailer, I came in and saved the day with Acetone. BUT, you must proceed with caution and a stop watch. 30 second increments with a dampened microfiber towel. Washing thoroughly that area, between each step.

(Not the best Anyone with half a brain would pick the prissel out of the chip, if your to dumb to remove it then your probably too dumb to drive😂😂😂😂 seems a good little kit just cant open the pen part instead of brush part. U also get a little dabber tool with it for chips. I went abit mad n even tried using brush for a scuff on door n seems good 🤣🤣🤣 compared to my last cars rusty square from spray cans, i turned a rusty spot into a square rushing it
