    With this speech,he made Johanna change her mind.
    I don’t like Dustin Hoffman that much but those sentences are pure gold(the script and the way are told)

    @SamuelSataniel I disagree on that last point; I thought Ratso was a completely realistic, tragic figure; sure, it was a sort of "showy" role, but that's a part of the character; I get your point, but maybe there's a better word than "cartoonish", because it makes it sound as if he's trying to be funny all the time, rather than, well, sad...but that's just me

    I adore this movie. Dustin Hoffman is real Master of Acting. He did phenomenal job here and call me crazy but I think he is much more talented than a little bit overrated Robert De Niro and Al Pacino (I love them though). Justin Henry played Hoffman's screen son and he was impressive too - amazing acting! Meryl Streep was great
