Jeremy, it's absolutely great that you recorded each one of them in seperate videos, each time repeating the basics. By watching all 6 of them, you get to learn pretty well how to start with those. That's an amazing tutorial you gave us. I just ordered the PO-2x serie. I can't wait to put my hands on those chippy Arcade & Robot calculators !
They are a lot of fun even for someone with 0 musical knowledge. When sync'd the sound can be a bit odd on them so i ordered some Stereo splitters and a little 4 channel mixer thing from amazon. What would you recommend to record, reorder and tweak things I have made on a windows PC software wise. Remember I am a complete rook.
I've only ever owned a PO-33, the K.O, which was stolen from me at one point years ago, but after watching these, my man here just helped me decide to just buy this bass operator, as well a replacement K.O to bring my jam on 🤘 love the videos, fam
Thanks so much for these man! Just bought all 6 as tour gifts for guys I travel and play with....your videos are going to be life savers....thanks! Wouldn't mind seeing some deeper tutorial videos on chaining them...and best way to go about it...haha
Check out the video in the description for a great look into chaining them all together. Also grab this wallpaper I made as a sync / volume level cheat sheet: imgur.com/TTRYeOk If you want to chain different configs of them, try keeping the same order and adjusting volume to taste. The last and first sync mode should always be the same, anything in the middle should stay sync mode 05. I'll make a vid about it at some point, but I don't want to step on the toes of the person who originally showed the world!
Damn, I got the exact same set up except for one extra thing; get a synch splitter from pok3to, that way you can keep all the audio seperate while still keeping everything synched 👍👍👍👍
@@DJbace1 awesome, I could only afford the Behringer but it works great still. Having the audio seperate from synch lets you do more effects wise and it was designed to work with the dude, but anyways have a great time playing 😁😁
Hi. Mine doesn't do what you describe here. If I follow the steps at 2.43, and select 1 5 9 13, as you do, I press "Play" and get a sequenced pattern of notes, but not a basic drum pattern as you do. What am I doing wrong? I can't get beyond this because nothing seems to match!
Sorry for being so numb. But I'd need to put my OPs (even the Sub Bass) on a cromatic scale. Any time i do as on the instruction manual, i press record, select the knob and change the note (for example the A note into a C note. But as I get out of the record mode the knob returns to the original A note. It's vey frustrating. Do you know where i go wrong? thanks for your tutorials. great work! Iput the same message on the Factory OP because i own both...
Thank you for such a great video!! Where did you get the case for this from, as the ones they have on their website look very different? They're just generic with numbers where yours has descriptive symbols.
Ok I know I'm hella late to this video but how do I save a specific drum sound to a pattern? It only lets me either live play my set or the first drum it started on
I'm looking at buying my first one of these, at the minute I'm stuck between this one and the arcade, the sounds seem so cool! Would these two be a good combination tho do you think? Because I mayy be tempted to get both
I'm getting one of these soon and am super excited. Does anyone know why when he went to change the buttons to bass it didn't change the drumline to bass like when he was changing the overall sounds later in the video? It looked like he was pressing the same buttons, holding the top left button and then pressing the two music notes.
I've bought the PO-12 and it's pretty cool, you can create bass and some weird synths sounds, and you've got a full drum machine with it. The arcade looks cool too and seems really cool for chord progressions
Hi Red, thanks for the great videos. Can you tell me please if those official PO cases block out the LED lights? I planned on getting cases for mine but I don't want to lose the lights. Cheers.
can you create a long uninterrupted tone through all 16 ticks in one pattern? - I've been searching for some addition to my PO-12 drums, some more traditional synth that can produce some longer tones to actually create some sort of a track using all my patterns consequently. If not, any recommendations what to get from the PO family? Otherwise I'll shoot for Volca Keys, but I wanted to keep it simple and portable-speaker-in-the-park-session friendly. Cheers and thanks for answers!
If they obfuscate, it's only a little. I think it was an issue with my recording angle. Here's a pic of them if you're sitting in front of them: imgur.com/l6kJEyO
why do we need devices like this, when we can just use the smartphone? I could understand it if these devices were Free Hardware (GPL) so that we actually could learn something. Tell me, why do they matter at all in history?

Is the po33 worth the $90-$100? Idk what they used to cost but that's the price now
@@Xxmeca421xX oh yes well worth the price
these are surprisingly entertaining to watch/rewatch

Seriously me too, I've already bought 3 lmao
The sub is my favorite po so far.
Olecranon Rebellion ikr the drum machine is actually good and the basses are fire
How is yours going to this day?

wicked, has a strong dubstep sound. ive got the arcade, i think im getting the rhythm and speak next probably. but i want the robot and Ko too.

Just love these things but no supplies available 😢
And even as of now, they’re still out of stock
Can you play every note on these? or is it just the major scale? is there any pocket operator you can play other notes?
On the speak you can change the scale you're playing in. Hope that helps
Amazing video as always, are you getting the new PO-32? I would love to see how that one works
definitely!
Thank you for such a great video!! Where did you get the case for this from, as the ones they have on their website look very different? They're just generic with numbers where yours has descriptive symbols.
Any way I can plug this into my SR16 drum machine and have them sync?
Why demo this with a case that does not show the LEDs? What do the symbols mean? Thank you.
how about 4 of These in a 4channel Mixer und so some live-acting? so e.g. the 12 for a Beat and the Sub dir baseline etc.
i've considered it, but I would need to get special splitters for the cables to maintain sync but also hear each one. it would be cool!
Man i cant decide between the sub and the arcade -.-
Ok I know I'm hella late to this video but how do I save a specific drum sound to a pattern? It only lets me either live play my set or the first drum it started on

How do I get more than one measure? Is that chaining patterns
Is it possible to use this (and all of the other) Pocket Operators with, say earbuds or headphones on the bus?
yes
If i would buy one of the PO's which one would u suggest?
I would consider the PO-28 or PO-20.
Thanks bruh, i'll buy the PO-over-9000

Why is the style and effects always recording? That doesn’t make sense.
The PO33 kind of makes all the ones before it obsolete now doesn’t it? Seeing as you can sample anything into it
Yeah it's pretty dope
but at a way higher price
But what batteries does it take
But how did you record the audio? Did you just have a mic next to the speaker? Or did you do a data transfer and edit it into the video?
Pocket operator has line out. 3.5mm jack
You get a zoom h5 to record audio!!
Are these worth the $60 plus the cost of a case? I'd rather have the po33 but not for $100.
As of now (2023) these are almost constantly out of stock - at least this model. Once they’re in stock you get one now.
whats up with the display going fucky when you press keys?
Just the camera. Doesnt show when your using
Do you *have* to snap off the hanger if you want to install a case?
yes, unless some sort of third party
@@slvrcross aww that sucks. I'll have to find some third party cases I guess. I like the hangers on them.
Does the Po-14 have a turn and off button
None of them do. They automatically shut off.

I've heard conflicting reports. Mine don't. Others have said they do.
Thanks. I think I'll pass on them just in case. I've found they fit well in Nintendo DS cases for travelling.
Can the pocket operator be plugged directly into a guitar amp?
Pretty sure
MIDI keyboard compatibility?
No
goes to create dub chord?

i don't know :(
Yes, maximum note length is 16 ticks though, so it'll usually skip noticeably after that.
hey quick question I dont get how you adjust the clock
That's the first thing you do when turning it on. Nobs, then press any button to confirm.
Take the batteries out then put them back in. That or short the connection on one of the two knobs with a key or coin

Plug PO into Mac's audio input.
Open recording software.
Play PO.
Record into recording software.
The MAC i am using only has a headphone jack... What are my options now?
Collin Evans You'll need to purchase an audio interface and plug the PO into that to record.
you recommend any audio interfaces for the PO?

Does it come with a speaker? (Built in?)
