    A tip for the downtimes when you can go hours and hours of not having any potential customers approach you, is to utilize that time for gaining product knowledge, so when you do have customers approach you, you can be your best at selling different products.

    My training is mostly slideshows, depending on the brand, it can be detailed with gratis and product demos or just a single page or chart with key takeaways.
    Because of this I sell what I recognize and understand, when I'm asked about a product I'm unfamiliar with I can only give them the bullet points I remember from training.

    I'm starting on Wednesday as a prestige beauty advisor!!! I'm nervous but I'm glad people have many videos like this about the experience and pros and cons. For me, this is a side job as I'm a newly signed model as well which honestly pays more than Ulta but as I get the modeling side running and more consistent I'm doing this Ulta job part time!! It's a small Ulta store by my house so hopefully it won't be too bad.

    Hey, I’m a recent graduate from esthetician school and it’s been every hard finding a job in a spa. I just got an interview at Clinique as a beauty advisor and I was wondering if you think that’ll be a good start as a beginner esthetician?

    • @ShanikaShantel
      @ShanikaShantel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Tayla, yes Clinique is an amazing company to work for and working specifically with product sells will give you that customer service skill that you’ll need as an esthetician. I would say also look into hand and stone or ulta (for the esthetician position) for hands on experience these places hire estheticians right out of school with no experience.

      Congrats one the job! Don’t be scared and stressed. The more you’re around the products the more you will learn about them. Are you working for a specific brand or Are you working the register? Because if you’re working for a brand the brand will teach you everything you need to know about the product. If you’re working at the register it’s less pressure to know about the products but being in the environment will help you learn. Congrats on your job! 😊 it’s a fun position don’t be stressed

    If you guys work on a commission how does management prevents you from chasing customers to build a basker or make a sale?
    Do they train you on product knowledge one item by one item or how do they train you?

    • @ShanikaShantel
      @ShanikaShantel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which position are you talking about? If it’s the target beauty position we didn’t work off of commission, it was strictly hourly but the hourly was well above minimum wage at the time. We had weekly goals that we were obligated to meet….
      And that particular position we got trained weekly on all products, we also had an iPad that we carried around to help us if we needed to look up any products, they also put on a mandatory monthly training that we had in hotel conference rooms with brands so we could learn on a more personal level. So the trainings were endless.
