Did you get the job? I have an interview this Thursday afternoon for the same position 😬 it’s a full time position but I’m kind of hoping for part time instead..I haven’t sat for a professional interview in so many years so I needed to see this to calm my nerves 🥴
@@marszz333 no! The most bizarre interview I ever went on..they told me when I arrived that they weren’t actually hiring for that location, but they would hold onto my application for future openings 🤷♀️ the manager I met with was very nice and apologized for basically wasting my time lol
have my sephora kohls interview tomorrow! I have no retail experience so I'm a little nervous about this interview. I'm just a passionate makeup artist in college and need the extra money to buy a car!
You got this love! Just make sure you focus on your passion for makeup and emphasize how you love to help clients/ people and communicate - I think they asked about what hospitality means to me or something like that at my store so make sure you’re prepared for that one and they’ll ask about past work/ life experiences, so if you don’t have retail just think about your college experiences and use those. Hope this helps, sending good vibes! 💛
@@TiaraSparrow yes this helped so much! I can go on all day about how much I like helping people, especially since I major in social work. I’m taking all of your advice and using it tomorrow! I’ll let you know how it goes + if I get the job! thank you sooo much 🫶

@@The-one-and-only-Fruitcake oh my goodness😭 I’m lowkey nervous bc I’m still in high school but they asked for an interview so I’m hoping and praying 🙏
I know this video is older, but I just got hired. Was training based on your availability or only at certain times? Are you able to do online trainings at home? I have a second job they knew about when hiring me and I’m worried how I’ll get 8 hrs of training in a single day unless I take a week off my other job…I haven’t scheduled my orientation yet, but I’m hoping I can do the training at home.
Congratulations love! 💛 So if I remember correctly, we had training schedules for us so it was a four day paid remote training we had to log our hours and turn them in when we came back in. Some people who came later or had conflicts just went to a later training week, but I think there might’ve been a couple people who came even later and I’m not sure they did the prereq sales and brand training course at all. 🤔 Definitely talk to your team lead and manager and ask how they could work the schedule out with you when you get to your orientation, because it probably will depend on your store!
Hey congrats on getting hired! How long did it take for them to get back to you? I had my interview last Wednesday and still haven’t heard anything. I’m getting really nervous

So for my interview I just sat with the main store manager and he just asked about my beauty experience and retail experience. Of course the basic interview question about a struggle you overcame and what you’ve done when dealing with hard customers and Since it was Kohl’s and they provide training they were more worried about if you have customer service experience or sales experience than experience with makeup IMO. Definitely come looking and smelling nice and it isn’t required to have a background in beauty but it definitely is a plus! Definitely highlight that you’re good at sales and talk about beauty trends and let them know you know what you’re talking about!
@@naayydior ooh girl it was a mess😅, we had just opened the first Sephora +Kohls in our district or something so we had go through shipment, do inventory, stock the shelves, and basically organize all the products while they build the store- thousands of products from all the brands. It was kind of fun though. The online Sephora orientation/ training was 4 days, the kohls onboarding training was 1 shift in store, and the first week half of us were awkward - I was nervous af because it’s so hands on and we have to be really helping people sometimes with full skincare routines and explain what the different products do lmao (the training covers everything but get familiar with your fav products to recommend until you have time to learn about all the brands & finish the additional/ optional brand training videos). Overall it’s pretty fun and easy when you get used to it :) you’ll learn more over time and get better at building clients over time as you go

Girl .. did you even watch? It’s not really a “how to ace it,” the interview was easy typical interview and if you have beauty or retail experience you’ll probably do fine and get it 🤷🏽♀️ what else you wanted from me?
Thanks! So pay really depends on your state and store. We were told everyone would get slightly different pay depending on their experience with beauty sales, etc. At my store the ballpark is around $15-$17 for part time beauty advisor, sales leads I’ve heard get paid around $20 or slightly higher and not sure for the team leader.
@@TiaraSparrowomg I get the interview in 3 days and I’m 16! I’m so scared because I have no retail experience and I feel like that’ll ruin the process 😔
lmaoo 😂 from what I remember I think you have to consent to random drxg tests, but they never actually did it at my store. But if someone is caught with anything or comes to work gone enough for ppl to notice - I’d definitely do a detox just in case. I’ve seen contracted ppl hired outside of the company that came to do inventory faded get fired, but I also had a coworker come to work faded a couple times and she was good so 😅
