I apologize if I am wrong, but these are nothing like ck3 or just ck in general Most of the time, some players, including me, like roleplay as your own person (character) with many "traits" to be passed into your heir or become an assassin or something. especially right now, where you can be landless from the start or when you lost your own land. The mods will just go crazy from that update.
None of these are even that related to ck3, I got click baited. Two are 4x games and the other 2 are basically city management/builder. Ck3 beats all of them for me.
@@skruffy7790 agreed, none of these compare to CK3 since there isn't any dynasty management, birth/death mechanics and we don't actually embody a character.

Civ 5 is popular till today because of overhaul mods like vox populi. While civ 6 doesn't have that kind of overhaul mod because of the lack of access to the source code.
Good games and looking forward to them but I wouldn't really call them generation defining. Manor Lords is generation defining as it merges two big aspects (city building and military) into one game. At least for me it does not feel like these games are redefining or creating new genres.
I kind of wish someone would make a game combining Conan Exiles type base building and survival with Bannerlord command and combat, where you could rally together a band of survivors to... well, survive, instead of being seemingly the last survivor of whatever apocalypse created the survival setting, or a disembodied voice on high giving commands to people.
@@kristiannicholson5893 Fair enough, though mods aside you can only have one or two backing you up as you explore the Exiled Lands, and they can't really help with the resource gathering aspect of the game. Anno is just a city building with some strategy aspects, still the same map size as the old game pretty much. Civilization is just another breath of the franchise and Frostpunk 2 is pretty much what the name says, Frostpunk 2 the follow up. No new Grand Strategy games no new genres.

Nope, CK3 is real time grand strategy and these games are more like city-building strategy games and turn based strategy games, you can’t compare these games each others, and not bigger than CK3
Anno is great game, however I cant seem to enjoy it due to beeing overwhelmed. Too many islands to manage, If there was only one it would be awesome. Civilization is just boring to me, CIV IV was great and its a good start to strategy genre but there are much better in-depth games. Frostpunk is awesome game for one and done playthrough if you looking for a hard and challenging survival game with a great aesthetic, not much replayability tho. But man, nothing even closely touches the games such as crusader kings or stellaris, the RP aspect and replayability with all the mods is unparallel. But hey, everyone has different taste.
Well they are. They have bigger player numbers and while both are good games most players play a lot more hours on a civ game. Agreed not really Grand Strategy. CK3 though is very much a simulation and nowhere near as immersive. (IMHO) 😊😊

I've never heard of any of these games being called grand strategy. These are city builders and 4x.
