Also I know a lot of people on the Internet think the Illuminati are a joke in this but Raimi frankly nailed the group’s depiction in the comics. Time after time in the comics, this group’s arrogance gets the better of them and the rest of the Marvel universe (ie laying the groundwork for Secret Invasion and Civil War) so them underestimating Wanda with fatal results is par the course with the source material
Raimi did what he could and was allowed to, they let him put zombies in the movie and that's the most entertaining part of the whole thing, the Illuminati crap is not his fault, someone thought it was a good idea showing a new group of flamboyant heroes just to kill them all immediately. Raimi made a good job shooting those scenes but they're completely irrelevant, take them out of the movie and nothing changes. And finally, he let Elizabeth Olsen shine during that ending, trusted her and her acting abilities, an she responded giving a fantastic performance. And that's the whole movie for me, Dr. Strange Zombie and Elizabeth Olsen's performance... people these days settle for not much

37:42 that is Clea. She is the sorcerer supreme of the dark dimension. And, believe it or not, the niece of Dormammu. Yeah her mother, Umar, kept a more human form while her brother assumed their natural state when he rose to power.
To answer the question you seem to have had at the credits scene, Charlize is playing the character Clea. In the comics (and probably what they'll do in the movies) Clea is the Niece of Dormammu and eventually Strange's Wife. Krasinski being in the movie is a big moment for fans, as he and his wife Emily Blunt are, or at least were at the time this movie was released, the number 1 fan casting for Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, so much so to the point of most everyone saying that they were the only ones who could and should be in the roles, so Marvel put him in the Reed Richards role for this movie to pay off the fan desire to see him in the role. Speaking of Krasinski's Reed Richards, as sort of brought up in the movie, the Illuminati in Marvel comics is a secretive society like the real world version, however each member of the Marvel Illuminati is a representative of one of the various communities within Marvel, usually the leaders or important members of the group or faction, who come together to try and solve various issues and such within the Super community from behind the scenes. So for this movie Xavier is the representative for the Mutants, Captain Marvel is the representative for all the space based characters, Mordo is the representative for all the magic based characters, etc. You did indeed watch something that takes place after this for Wong, cause his appearance in She-Hulk takes place after this movie.

I absolutely loved the movies Evil Dead, Drag to Hell, Aliens, Spider-Man 2, Army of Darkness, Carrie, Twilight Zone, The Shining, The Ring, Day of The Dead, Oz The Great and Powerful, The Matrix, and the 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88, as well as the nods to The Terminator in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Magical Duel between Doctor Strange and Sinister Strange was genuinely awe-inspiring. Moreover, the appearance of The Living Tribunal left me completely astounded. The film's soundtrack was also exceptional, enhancing my overall enjoyment. Undoubtedly, I had an incredible time watching this movie, especially with the Scarlet Witch as a formidable antagonist. The visual effects in Doctor Strange and America Chavez's journey through the multiverse were absolutely breathtaking. I've been a devoted fan of Doctor Strange since 1995. Scarlet Witch has also held a special place in my heart since 1990.
I resonate so hard with Wanda’s character and her story breaks my heart. I definitely don’t condone the murders she’s committed but I can see why she did it. If someone stood in the way of me being able to save someone I love again and have another chance with them, you bet I would tear through every multiverse there is to get them back
This movie is THE most important film of PHASE IV, the first phase of THE MULTIVERSE SAGA (Phases IV, V, VI and probably VII). Much groundwork is laid out here. 1) The device that 838-Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic uses to enter the Illuminati chamber is the Space-Time Platform invented by the most dangerous man ever to walk any earth, Victor Von Doom. Doctor Doom, the greatest Marvel supervillain, plays a major role in the Multiverse Saga and its conclusion. His Space-Time Platform is discovered in the 31st-century by a descendant of Reed Richards, his hated enemy. This future scient who discovers it, is Nathaniel Richards, and out from him and his discovery come the Dynasty of Kangs. Doom will discover the Kangs and their threat. He uses his Space-Time Platform to prevent Wanda's suicide and convinces her to fulfill her destiny... 2) INCURSIONS: The threat of Kangs is small compared to that of universe-destroying Incursions, explained in this film. When Wanda "fulfills her redemption" at the manipulation of Doctor Doom, this will trigger a wave of unstoppable Incursion-events leading to Multiversal death. This leads to DOCTOR STRANGE 3 with Wanda, Strange, and Doom... and after, AVENGERS SECRET WARS.
Pizza Poppa, the guy that beat himself up for three weeks, is Bruce Campbell. He and the director Sam Raimi have been great friends since they made the Evil Dead movies. If you look carefully you can see the Delta 88 floating in air in one scene.
I try to avoid trailers and promotional material as well. It's impossible when you happen to appreciate the source material, but the adaptation is then what I'm avoiding. I've seen very classic examples of spoilers in trailers (Arnold in promotions of "The Terminator" in the 80s is a prime example Between 2 trailers they gave away he's a killing machine from the future, and they gave away which character was the Terminator, and they gave this away with almost every poster, every trailer, and in audio and video media did it with the "dramatic narrator voice. At the time I was a teenager, so I didn't know "spoilers") 31:15-31:20 You know something that hit me with this movie? "Ash" (Steve Campbell) of Evil Dead was in many of the Spider-Man movies, he appeared in this movie... Then we go "possessing the body of dead-self. So are the Evil Dead movies now part of the MCU?
Wanda was traumatized and racked with guilt and shame BEFORE this movie. Losing her parents,...getting trapped under rubble with an unexploded bomb...joining Hydra...violating the minds of Bruce, Nat, Steve, Thor and Tony (leading Bruce to trash a city)...orchestrating the creation of Ultron who in turn killed her brother, ravaged a country and nearly destroyed the world...feeling responsible for not getting Crossbone's bomb away from civilians in time...losing Vision...seeing Vision's dismantled body...her breakdown...realizing her breakdown had caused her to torture a small town of people...losing her kids...sort of losing Vision again...being wanted by the authorities.... It's easy enough to say that her actions in this film were caused by the Darkholde (look at what the thing did in Agents of SHIELD...), but if she returns how will she deal with the addition of murdering so many people in Camitage, murdering alternate reality versions of Peggy (her friend Steve's true love), Captain Marvel (her defender Monica's lost mother), Mister Fantastic (who she knew was leaving a wife and kids behind), Black Bolt and Professor X (leaving that world without 5 of its greatest heroes), the murder of another alternate reality Doctor Strange, trashing a New York street with a demon, torturing and attempting to kill Wong, hounding and attempting to sacrifice the lost 16 year old America Chavez, attempting to kill Doctor Strange and alternate reality Christine, what the spirits of the damned were saying to her, attempting to kill and replace an alternate reality version of herself, and finally seeing her terrified alternate reality kids look upon her as a monster. Even if she does return (and has been freed from the book's influence), she'll either have to continue living without her kids and dreaming about their counterparts every night, or - if the speculation about her kids returning for Young Avengers is correct - have to face them after what she's done.
Wonda The Scarlet Witch is an anti hero. She wants to do the right thing, things transpire against this causing her to lose it and grasping at any point for happiness. I hope we see her again she is such a brilliant character, so much scope in her story.
Sesska, i am not sure if it is okay that she destroyed the Darkhold in every universe, in the tv show Agents of SHIELD, they used it for something, i forget
Why wouldn't it be "ok"? This came out after AoS, and she destroyed all copies of the book throughout the multiverse, so whether you consider the pre-Disney+ shows as in the prime universe or not (I do), those stories happened, then those copies of the book burned up like the one we saw.
Sesska, you didn't show Baron Mordo introduce Blackbolt? the leader of the inHumans, did you get to watch the tv show, the inHumans , ? , when it was on abc in 2018? i liked it, it might be on disney plus now
In the internet was the info that Marvel might make a movie Scarlet witch and also Agatha all alone is moving, so this is not the end of Wanda's story. ❤
There was 2 things that annoyed me about this movie despite loving it. 1 wanda should also be a nexus being like america Chavez. (Only one wanda in the multiverse) 2 how they treated wanda. Wanda simply said she just wanted to go to a universe to be with her children so what does strange tell wong? "She wants to enslave the universe" ...was he even listing 😂
RIGHT ??? even wanda tells wong she doesn't want to rule everything, she just wants her children. i also wish they wrote her smart enough to realize there's most definitely a universe where her kids don't have a mom. the writing in this movie was atrocious
She was willing to murder a lost 16 year old girl. She sent monsters after her, killing at least one person already (the alternate Strange), and trashing a New York city block with an enslaved demon. Why in the world would they believe her? And even if they did, they still weren't about to turn the innocent person who she wanted to kill over.
1) Scarlet Witch is a nexus being, emerging only in 616, but Wanda exists in every universe. That’s how the MCU is treating it. 2) it’s the slippery slope concept. She wanted to freely travel the multiverse to do whatever it takes to have her family, and is corrupted by the Darkhold. She can’t be trusted anymore.
This was directed by none other than the Sam Raimi himself. (Spider-Man Trilogy and the Evil Dead). So that explains the crazy horror tone of the movie and some camera shots.
Whatever other opinions about this movie we might have, can we agree it's hilarious that a multi-million dollar blockbuster somehow put Benedict in THAT wig with THAT hairline? 😂
I really feel the biggest flaw the film has is that while they do state the situation of the Darkhold corrupting Wanda, it was treated something like a background element; truth is, once Wanda opened the book at the end of her show, she was gone. Chthon was pretty much in charge of his vessel/avatar at that point and using her to gain access to take over the multiverse.
Yeah as someone who's seen Agents of Shield I understand how the Darkhold corrupts anyone and they'd be too far gone regardless of who they are, but I feel like it needs to emphasised more for the film where the majority of its audience wouldn't be familiar with the Darkhold.
@@lucasdolding6924 It's a perfect example of the substandard writing we have come to expect from Marvel Studios. As an AoS fan I totally understood this movie, and how the Darkhold corrupts the reader... But Marvel Studios did nothing to explain the effects of the book. Wanda just went nuts between Wandavision and this movie and general audiences were just expected to accept it.
Actually that's wrong, Wanda wasn't possessed by the Darkhold, she was the one controlling it, alot of people don't seem to realise that. As for Chthon he was only hinted at, none of that has begun yet.
Same old story. You wait forever for a Benedict and then two turn up at once! Also, fun fact, Benedict Wong grew up a mile or two from Christopher Eccleston.
Rough and messy film but there's a an explanation why. The writers of the film didn't watch Wandavision or really do research on any material. Which is why it seems so different and disconnected to when we last saw Wanda. Even Elizabeth Olsen said she was surprised to be the villain in a youtube interview. Director Sam Raimi did make it a little horror/funky with the Evil Dead style which seemed to please a lot of the audience. Personally not for me though unfortunately.
I respect your opinions and review. This movie was good in terms of Doctor Strange POV only. Overall the movies was sub par since wanda's reasonings made no sense and it was something that strange had to deal with. The other reason this movie is bad is due the fact that in order to understand the plot you have to watch wanda vision series which I believe was also ass, since you cannot have kids with a robot that was already dead. I think people either love it or hate it.
Unpopular opinion, my favourite MCU movie. it checked off so many boxes for me: - the growing bond between America and Stephen made my heart melt - quick, witty humor and snarkiness - amazing fight scenes - good acting and emotion - awesome new character and concept introductions - cameos and easter eggs - horror elements, suspense and jumpscares etc. - brutal slaughtering of heroes - manages to reach out and explore new concepts in the mcu without really tying much into the main cinematic world that's already been established
*you know, this had a lot going for it. it was really the woke era it was made that made the over chick biz stand out* (& not establishing why wanda is so powerful properly, & some of the cheesy jks & exposition) that kxlled it. it is ok. just needed a few tweeks. _JC
@@Rocket1377 it took advantage of her grief that's only mounted over the years. Her parents, her brother, vision, and now the kids that she created from magic. There is no way she would sacrifice an innocent life under different circumstances. Her biggest mistake was opening the Darkhold in the first place in an attempt to master it at the end of WandaVision. The book corrupts anyone that reads its pages. It reached into her subconscious desires and perverted them.

Underrated MCU movie. My favorite of the phase.
One of the greatest films in the MCU! Strange, Wanda and Loki are the holy trinity!
Thank you for this christmas gift 🥰 happy holidays 💕
Benedict's performance was outstanding ❤
I personally liked this movie it was fun especially with Wanda scarlet which being a villain is super interesting in my opinion.
Pizza Poppa, the guy that beat himself up for three weeks, is Bruce Campbell. He and the director Sam Raimi have been great friends since they made the Evil Dead movies. If you look carefully you can see the Delta 88 floating in air in one scene.
Merry Christmas, Jess!! Also, I consider this a horror movie.
At the time I was a teenager, so I didn't know "spoilers")
31:15-31:20 You know something that hit me with this movie?
"Ash" (Steve Campbell) of Evil Dead was in many of the Spider-Man movies, he appeared in this movie... Then we go "possessing the body of dead-self. So are the Evil Dead movies now part of the MCU?
3:52 I've seen him in many Marvel video games, mostly fighting games.
You can clearly see Raimi's vision in this with all the horror stuff
35:15 Including the one from Agents of SHIELD???
35:18 strange is not happy about that! Suspicious hunhhh!!!!
I cannot understand why this movie had “mixed reactions”. It is easily one of the best MCU movies in the slate.
I love how much you love Wong
Wonda The Scarlet Witch is an anti hero.
She wants to do the right thing, things transpire against this causing her to lose it and grasping at any point for happiness.
I hope we see her again she is such a brilliant character, so much scope in her story.
Jesus I don’t know what happened, when I saw that scene where Wanda wakes up in silence, I just broke out in tears WHAT
Hope the surgery and recovery went well. :)
Please do more movie reactions!! You are one of my two favorite reactors! ♥️
Have an incredible Christmas Jess 🥰❤️
I can't believe you reacted to this😮
Sesska, i am not sure if it is okay that she destroyed the Darkhold in every universe, in the tv show Agents of SHIELD, they used it for something, i forget
Ghost Rider and AIDA
Why wouldn't it be "ok"? This came out after AoS, and she destroyed all copies of the book throughout the multiverse, so whether you consider the pre-Disney+ shows as in the prime universe or not (I do), those stories happened, then those copies of the book burned up like the one we saw.
There is so much Raimi flavor in this movie, the more I watch it the more I like it
Sesska, you didn't show Baron Mordo introduce Blackbolt? the leader of the inHumans, did you get to watch the tv show, the inHumans , ? , when it was on abc in 2018? i liked it, it might be on disney plus now
In every reactions i ever have to see people reactions to Wanda's change moment
Merry Christmas girl
Just heard that Richard Franklin (captain Yates) has died.
Congrats on 100K😂
In the internet was the info that Marvel might make a movie Scarlet witch and also Agatha all alone is moving, so this is not the end of Wanda's story. ❤
There was 2 things that annoyed me about this movie despite loving it.
1 wanda should also be a nexus being like america Chavez. (Only one wanda in the multiverse)
2 how they treated wanda.
Love your reactions ❤
You should do a reaction to Everything Everywhere All At Once. It’s such a good movie!

@@markmckeown87 thanks. I’m not on Patreon so I didn’t know
Whatever other opinions about this movie we might have, can we agree it's hilarious that a multi-million dollar blockbuster somehow put Benedict in THAT wig with THAT hairline? 😂
Sesska, i like the 1978 Dr Strange movie, it might be on youtube now
I would love to see your reaction to Wakanda Forever and Quantamania! :))
Please tell me you watched the other post-credit scene?
You missed a little funny post credit scene at the end with the pizza ball man
John matches as Reed Richards
I don't know exactly what Black Bolt expire but couldn't he do it by the nose ? As everyone do when they breath ?
Isn't it more about voice/sound than breath?
it's the soundwaves from his vocal chords, not his nose
@@sla6hed oh ok i thought it was something more magic than that, thanks
Easily the best post-Endgame MCU movie, for me. A true multiverse adventure in a Doctor Strange story, and it all fits.
Number 1 rule of deaths in comics/movies, if you don't see them die, THEY'RE NOT DEAD!!! Wanda will be back.
As a massive comic Doctor Strange fan, the magic in this movie is vastly improved. I’m not a fan of the orange shields.
They did Wanda dirty in this movie
No they didn't... Did you watch WandaVision?
No reaction to Black Bolt 😞
His actor is the same from the Inhuman show
Hayward was the one that broke her. Westview and the events of this movie are on his shoulders.
Wanda was the one brainwashing people in Westview, and people called the good guy for it!?
The writers of this movie admitted that they didn't watch Wandavision. They intended Wanda to be in control, and it was not the book controlling her.
@@Rocket1377the darkhold corrupts EVERYONE who reads it. It is even stated in the movie
My favorite marvel movie by far!
Same old story.
You wait forever for a Benedict and then two turn up at once!
Also, fun fact, Benedict Wong grew up a mile or two from Christopher Eccleston.
I so much waiting you start watching Ashoka , it seems to me after rebels that will be amazing for you
Rough and messy film but there's a an explanation why.
Unpopular opinion, my favourite MCU movie. it checked off so many boxes for me:
- the growing bond between America and Stephen made my heart melt
- quick, witty humor and snarkiness
- amazing fight scenes
- good acting and emotion
- awesome new character and concept introductions
- cameos and easter eggs
- horror elements, suspense and jumpscares etc.
- brutal slaughtering of heroes
- manages to reach out and explore new concepts in the mcu without really tying much into the main cinematic world that's already been established
*you know, this had a lot going for it. it was really the woke era it was made that made the over chick biz stand out* (& not establishing why wanda is so powerful properly, & some of the cheesy jks & exposition) that kxlled it. it is ok. just needed a few tweeks. _JC
This is a great movie. I am a big Raimi fan though.
Sesska, you love Wang i mean Wong...
Multiverse of Madness = Mom 😢
21:33 she can't see that, Wong. The darkhold has corrupted her to the point where she's blind to the hypocrisy.
No, it hadn't. It's all Wanda.
@@Rocket1377it corrupts everyone, even Wanda. The movie said it many times.
@@Rocket1377no. Wanda would NEVER do any of this if the darkhold wasn't a factor. She was CLEARLY corrupted. It's literally what that book is KNOWN for. Anyone who has it, becomes a monster.
I still don’t get why people didn’t really vibe with it, on the whole
I really fucked with Phase 4, it’s Phase 5 that’s been a little more scattershot for me
