I think I like Project Reality just a bit more because not only does it depict the reload procedures correctly, they also have a little style to them. SQUAD is very “by the manual” reload animations, which aren’t bad by any means.
6:13 In Squad, there is a difference in the reloading speed of machine guns. If you hold it in your hands, then reloading is slow, if you put a machine gun on the bipod, then reloading will be faster
For it's time PR is the winner. Sure Squad looks a little better, but still behind modern standards. It would be epic if Squad gets an animation overhaul with a new emergency reload system! Oh and new reload sounds, they're quite terrible tbh.
PR reloads are amazing for its dated engine but Squad's are simply better in every metric. However PR cheats with camera shake to make reloads seem more visceral than they really are. I personally hate camera shake in my reloads when playing but they're great for TH-cam reels.
@@Xenoscoutknight Animations exist without nauseating amounts of shake. When shadow knives were added in Counter Strike they had camera shake for a few years until they were removed. Large amounts of camera shake ends up being annoying in gameplay. It's similar to head bobbing in the late 2000s, or chromatic aberration in the 2010s. Cool novelty at first but gets annoying quickly. I hope modern games move past this trend in a year or two.
To me PR has that jerkiness but more weight at the same time. Squad is more smooth, realistic (as in being held by a bipedal being and not a floating pair of arms) but it feels like the character is handling an airsoft weapon.
I prefer Project Reality's reloads because they simply feel better. Has a bit more weight. Squad's reloads, while good, lack weight, and sometimes feel cartoonish in a bad way. The mag just appearing, standing still, and then going in the gun, feels cartoonish in Squad, a bit like how reloads were sometimes cartoonish in Battlefield 3 and 4. Project Reality does this sometimes also but not as much as Squad. More realistic motions there when it does happen sometimes.

Me personally, I like both equally
Project Reality feels more satisfying

Good camera work + powerful sounds and decent animations really make pr stand out
If Squad had Project Reality reloads, it would be actually the best with a few touch-ups.
Edit #1: That Iraqi reload on the AKM on 1:26 tho

Squad serms less dynamic than PR even after the animations improvements

using camera shake isnt cheating wdym??
"Camera shake" as cheating is one of the dumbest things I've heard
The animations would look the same if there was no camera shake, and how is camera shake cheating?
@@Xenoscoutknight They don't have a brain.

Heaven for ears
what were squad devs thinking while doing the pistol anims? pr had it right when you put the pistol right up to your face
game made with love vs game made for money
Yes, i think PR is the best
pr anims have a lot more momentum. squads look like theyre in slow motion
PR, hands down
*sees the Canadian version of the M16/M4
a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

Neither of them feel like they're being held by a floating pair of arms
Rising storm Vietnam 2 reload?
squad all reloads?
it's funny that they didn't model the rear end of the barrels for the LMGs, it's just a solid block.
Project reality wins for me
Both is good
Same animators?
Maybe, heard same team worked on PR work on Squad
Partially, some PR developers separeted from the PR developing team and created Squad
ain’t no way project reality has better reloads

weird ASMR but ok
i dont see big difference
I'll go with pr with this one , because Squad recent content arent that interesting , the game also became capitalist
PR is better
