I joined it industry last month and I sent some official mail but there was mistake and my superior came and corrected me . I felt so EMBARRASSED 😭 and now I'm here
Hello, Mam! I want to ask that I don't like getting my upper lips done. For eyebrows, I just trim the extra one on my own and except that I am not that concerned with grooming... So, does this create any sort of bad impression? However, I don't compromise in hygiene in any way! Its just that I despise getting anything on my face done...
Hi there! Facial grooming has over time become an important part of personal representation so I’m afraid the lack of it becomes noticeable and provides material for public judgement. I suppose the answer lies in what you do professionally too. If one is in a customer facing job, entertainment or glamour industry then it becomes important to go beyond your comfort zone and make the effort. For example I train women for pageants so as much as self-expression is encouraged; a hairy upper lip won’t get many votes. Let’s role reverse, what is the first thing YOU look at when meeting someone for the first time? If face is your answer then that’s what people are doing too- looking at your face. So it’s down to you to make it as presentable as possible. Some people don’t do their upper lip or threading for religious reasons. That’s acceptable as there are sentiments behind. But just ensure it doesn’t look unkempt. Hope this helps! :)
Thanks much for the appreciation! I’ve been both an employee and an employer so tried to share whatever I’ve gathered in my experience of the corporate world! :)
About don't be nosey : At work a lot of bosses are very nosey. They peep into phones and laptops. They interrupt meetings often. So how does one deal with this ? Honestly asking.
Ah that’s such a genuine problem seen in the hierarchy usually! Unfortunately, such bosses have gone up the success ladder based on performance alone, not personality. Organisations are a lot more savvy these days in choosing their representation but most of these bosses are old school in their approach! I’d love to train them 😄 But on a serious note, you have 2 options: either to directly make your displeasure known by using curt body language or do it anonymously via the HR department. Many companies have an anonymous complaint section so it can be done without being known. Sometimes the bosses don’t even realise they are doing it so best for HR to point it out. Let me know if you choose these and tell us how it went! Good luck! May patience be with you 🙌🏻
Hello Ma’am, Greetings of the day. I’m Arunav from India & I live & work in West Africa (Lagos, Nigeria). It is my 6th country to work in as before that I had been working in other African countries such as Congo, Tanzania, Ivory Coast & Togo. My work profile is Logistics. I really loved your video & have subscribed it.
Hi Arunav! You sure have a vast experience of working at varied locations. You must witness different corporate culture everywhere you go. I hope these basic guidelines are of some use to you. Thanks for subscribing! 👍🏻
@@SUPAbilitybySupreetBedi definitely it will always be useful to me & will keep me aware of my own verbal & non verbal communication. I am really thankful to you for making such videos. I am one of your biggest admirer as I love your communication skills & your personality. Keep smiling.
Hi, Ashirbad...lovely name...I’m guessing it means blessings? Any regional influence in speech can only go away with practice - when your brain understands that it’s doing something incorrectly and sends a signal to your tongue to forcibly try a different style. I say ‘forcibly’ because it isn’t habit. You have been used to speaking a certain way for over 20 years and your mind has always known that to be correct. Therefore, retraining it, although quite possible, is a game of patience and practice. If you send me a 1 minute voicenote introducing yourself, hobbies, family etc on supreet@supreetbedi.com ; I will be able to guide you further.
Sometimes too much professionalism looks weird & unnatural, feels like someone is from a different planet so as a result feels left out from the group....so it's a bit confusing to hold a perfect attitude...
Agreed, there needs to be a balance! But I feel it’s not so much the professionalism that looks unnatural, it’s the rigidity that is evident when overdoing it! I’ve been a boss/ MD of an English teaching Institute for many years and can safely say that I was always professional, but not rigidly so which can be off-putting! My body language would always still scream ‘approachable’ and that’s important! :)
Ideally, yes. Workplace etiquette should make people feel inclusive so sticking to your own comfort zone may just come across as impolite or selfish. Imagine how you’d feel if you are a team of 3 working on a project and two of your colleagues start chatting in their mother tongue which you fail to understand. Awkward, right? :) I work towards making my team comfortable instead.
Hi, thanks for watching the video. Although it’s been a while I uploaded it, my understanding is that an email can only be ‘unsend’ within a short time, like 30 seconds! It can surely be deleted at your end, whereas it is highly tricky to do so from the recipient’s mailbox (unless one is a ninja tech savvy! 😅) Definitely not as easy as WhatsApp! :)
Yes Preeti, I’m very much Indian! Born in Delhi, explored possibilities in America, further studies in England, worked in Mumbai, did a fashion course in Paris & now back to England - a globe trotter with an Indian passport! 😄:)
Thank you for being the messenger! ☺️ This is super sweet! A big hello to Yashvardhan Singh Rathore from Thapar University…let’s meet on my next Insta Live! 🙌
Hi there, thanks for your feedback. I’m a communication trainer in India and have a lot of Indian students who face confusion when conversing in English and the idea behind the channel was to ease them into the English language. Hence I do break into Hindi to explain better. I don’t think I’d be able to avoid that but happy to add subtitles for global reach. I appreciate your time and thanks for watching 🙌🏻
And what makes you say that? The fact that it doesn’t sound like the handful of Hollywood films you may have watched? Easy for you to sit in the comfort of your own home and judge while I travelled the globe to obtain my authentic speech- a mix of all the places that have shaped my learning years - America, England & Paris! Something I’m very proud of but disappointed that you can’t tell the difference!
@@SUPAbilitybySupreetBedi U lived in different places that's why ur accent is messed up. It's not ur fault. 😇 And mind u everyone is proud of his / her achievement.
So are you suggesting that kids of defence backgrounds also have messed up speech because they move so much? Nah mister, travelling brings adaptability, enrichment & growth! ‘Messed up’ is your perception, and just like your observation about EVERYONE being proud of their achievements; it’s highly incorrect! If such was the case this world would be free of self-doubt and depression that stems from the helpless feeling of worthlessness. This channel is for people to find some direction & confidence in their communication and if that doesn’t work for you; pls move on…no one is asking you to be stuck here to give your unwanted two pence. At least, I have the intention to serve my community to the best of my ability & experience; let’s have you put a video out there in your ‘impeccable’ accent and then talk. Don’t hide and shoot.
Thank you so much for video. Will you please post a video on email etiquette.?
Yes, that’s in the plan :) Thanks for watching and sharing suggestions!

What do you think? Does workplace etiquette demand that employees should always speak in a language that everyone can understand?
