  • ** This video is late to Patreon due to the birth of our first child yesterday, and I didn't want to upload it and take away from that special day.
    But today is a new day, and in this video Mike finally gets frustrated and decides to make a new plan.
    ** For alot more material such as:
    * Pictures, * Lens, * Polls, and random fun with both Mike & Ashtyn, then check out my Patreon Account! 🙂
    Otherwise, have a great day! 🙂

    ** Oh, right! I am back!
    Also feel free to check out our website to learn a little more about us and check out our merchandise line, we are selling out of some merch and having issues getting restocked.
    We'll also be discontinuing some lines and adding new ones with some extra cool stuff as well hopefully before Christmas. Stay tuned

      If we have the time you can open up your sieve and combine out all the weed spots as you are doing and it grinds it up so fine where a disk cant

    • @erikligtenberg1256
      @erikligtenberg1256 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lets be clear, this is not the normal way to do this, most canadians would use a bushhog. Wouldn't be my first choice to use a $800,000 combine and header to cut weeds. but I guess its not necessarily dumb if it works.

    • @CMDRSweeper
      @CMDRSweeper 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Now you have an excuse to "upgrade" your lawnmower and explain that to the misses... Why you want a big combine for lawn mowing :D

      I don't know.
      I would imagine combines get cranky if you only feed them grass. As far as I heard they like a somewhat varied diet.

    A couple thoughts on this.
    1) What's in the grain tank when you're done?
    2) By sending the cattails through the chopper, aren't you helping spread the fuzzy seeds even more?
    3) It seems risky to use such an expensive machine for this task. Wouldn't the swather be a better implement and allow you to burn it easier? I mean, you were talking about dropping a windrow if it was going to plug anyway....
    Thanks for great videos. Enjoy them a lot.

    Mike I got some questions…
    1. What is the correct settings for a combine to harvest cat tails and weeds.
    2. What was the bushel an acre you where getting when harvesting
    3. What is the current market of cat tails.
    Seems like it would be a good market little amount of competition

    I cut and bale that stuff for cow bedding if I have time at the end of the year. And then I just sell some of my straw bales. Cattail bedding is terrible for in barns because it’s terrible dusty but for outside it’s fine as long as you know which way the wind is blowing.
