Does this new High Performance Pkg take the place of the old V8s? To me...I just feel like something's missing without a V8 under the hood in the Mustang. This car is still fun, no doubt about that! *Thank you for watching and have a great day!*
This is the mustang I would want and purchase. Caroll Shelby himself said you cant really use more than 300 HP in a street car. And this car weighs 200 lbs less that the V8...all of it off the front axle. At 4.5 sec. to 60 mph you are beating 95% of the cars you will encounter on a daily basis. And with the magnaride suspension it is 8 GRAND cheaper that the GT. This is the mustang I would pick as a daily driver. And on an aurtocross course you're probably beating the GT because of the lighter weight and better weight distribution.
I just bought one of these a month ago. It was stickered at $35K which is the same price as a base model GT but I got rebates and ended up paying $31K. And yes on a road course it is faster than a GT or at least a 2015 Mustang GT. It has a better lap time on the Lightning Lap at VIR than a 2015 GT.
I’m Glad you got to have a really enjoy this one. imagine 330 HP from a 4cyl. When the HEMI V8 returned in the Dodge Rams and the Chrysler 300 it produced 340HP and everyone was going nuts to own one.
Did it. LOVE it. I would love for you to ask more questions and do more performance side review. I'm older and did a LOT of research before I leaped. Awesome review sir. I even owned an older 2.3 Turbo Stang in the 80's and this is literally my 7th.
I own a 2016 Mustang EcoBoost with upgraded intercooler, cobb drop-in filter, ngk step colder plugs, BOV, Borla Atak exhaust, Cobb Accessport V3 with custom 93octane pro-tune via Purple Drank Tuning. We are about to start tuning for e30 and gain more power but it's already a 12 sec capable car and maybe 11s on ethanol! It really is a beast with how light it is up front and is about as fun to drive as my N/A modified 93 Foxbody Coupe with 4.10 gears and built AOD auto trans. Two different beasts but both bring me plenty smiles per gallon!
I have this exact model, same color, and I love it. It is worth it. Sure it's not as loud as the GT, but honestly...that's fine. It's loud enough that I still have to make it quieter in the morning when i go to work. And gas? Great for road trips, and for daily commute.
I own this exact model in black. It’s a super fun car, and I can confirm it does smoke the 2009/2010 GTs and late model Dodge Charger Daytona. Concerning the price though, it is actually $8K-$10K more for the GT premium with performance pack. The GT premium does not have the wide tires, performance brakes, suspension upgrades that this little HPP Eco has. Given these suspension considerations this eco HPP is really a lot less, and stays on the road better than a GT premium (non-performance pack). Great video though!
I just bought a 2020 EcoBoost HPP a month ago for $31K. It was listed for $35K. So you can get them cheaper than the $41K that your's cost. And great job on the review overall. I've watched quite a few and many of the people that reviewed these cars don't know what they're talking about while you on the other hand were accurate with your info. Great job!!

Ive owned a 2015 Ecoboost and a 2018 GT, both auto Performance Packs. The sound on the GT is worth whatever extra you have to pay, but the ecoboost is just a half step behind and is the best choice if you daily drive it. For 90% of driving, all you lack in the ecoboost is that incredible GT exhaust note. For the other 10%, you better be on the track.
I went from a 2021 California Special that I loved but gas mileage was terrible on my 70 mile round trip commute to and from work to a 2021 HPP with handling package, love it. The only thing I don't like is the exhaust sound but everything else is great, especially for a daily driver. I have owned 22 Mustangs and this one is the most practical for daily driving.
Beautiful car love the grabber lime colour, i have a 2017 ecoboost mustang in uk its a 6 speed manual an its great fun to drive an plenty quick never short of power an really throws you back in ur seats after 5000rpm, so this high performance 10 speed auto must be a real hoot to drive an well quick too, big thumbs up from me I'd buy one over the v8 👍👌
just this week got my 2019 Need for Green fully loaded with B&O sound system, recaro seats, performance package, premium with digital dash, and active exhaust and best purchase ive ever made, wouldnt want anything else as a fun car to drive daily. V8 people buy it just so they can say they have a v8, i test drove both and you cant even use half the power the ecoboost has, having a GT is pointless unless you live at the track on weekends which 9 out of 10 people i know with them dont even do
I mean, I drive a ‘16 EB, always pump 93 octane (key factor here) , and all 2010 or older GT ive either beat or kept up with , so Id think this HPP will beat them for sure. The only 2008 GT that beat me had 4.10 gears (i think) , tune , and maybe headers... so it wasnt stock vs stock lol
You may have been able to get a stripped GT premium at the time this was recorded for 41K, but when you start checking boxes on the build sheet it will go closer to 55K-60K, these cars sans options are decent, but nowhere NEAR as nice as they can and should be. Ford is smart to do this of course, "Should I option this HPP or go for the GT, Should I option the GT or just go for the Mach1?" and so on. Bottom line is if you go option for option, the fully optioned EcoBoost will give you room to modify up to the performance of a GT for less money than an fully optioned GT. Same top speed, same body and interior, different power plant. It all comes down to 'sound' and 15K to get that sound. Is it worth it? That's a personal decision. I've always weighed the 'bang for the buck' with my Mustangs, (my HPP EcoBoost is my 7th) the HPP EcoBoost checks more boxes than it doesn't. Just my opinion.

Also wanted to add that being full catless with a blow off valve, intake and tune make this thing sound like a whole different car.
Also if you plan on modding it stay away from the high performance package. as cool as magneride is aftermarket traditional coils work way better, the slightly bigger turbo doesn't matter because the stock turbo can push the block to the limit anyways, the extra cost for the brakes don't matter because on the EcoBoost the high performance package doesn't give you the brembos, with some different pads and brake fluid the base EcoBoost brakes honestly work just as good.

It's not really anything Ford seriously planned. Some Engineers got board and found a old Focus RS engine, fixed the oil problem, and slapped it into a Mustang. The point of using small turbo engines is to get similar power to big NA engines with better gas mileage. Slapping a twin-turbo kit on a 5.0 would be the exact opposite lol. Would be hella fast though.

Why it sound like it makes fake v8 sound inside the interior?
Sounds better than the new supra
280HP in UK :(
So get the RS
Sounds like doodoo Brown
👍🤩💚
haha don't sleep on this ecoboost hi po lol go head man. i don't like them seats lol, give me ventilation yes lord lol. it sounds and drives like a honda, if it wasn't for the active exhaust lol.

So u rather get charged more insurance save less money hmm okay I have the base mustang and i spend 45$ in 2 weeks beat that buddy
This car in PORTUGAL costs 55k... Sad
He said eco boost. Lol
Those backseats are torture. ONLY for very small children.
Bababababanbababana nothing but v8 that the bottom line
20 hp is really not much.It should have come with 350 h.p then you would see a noticeable difference. And by the way it doesnt beat any gt 500.You are wrong.Even an 07 gt 500 was much faster than this .
Both are rated at mid 4 second range 0-60 (with a manual for GT500 and the auto for this). Any of the other and older V8s won’t keep up with this one.
The 07 GT 500 will get smoked in the corners by the 2.3L HPP with the handling package.
GT or none
Not a fan of the 10 speed as Ford is having major issues with them.
