Finally got my DSM two weeks ago! I’ve got the Eclipse’s twin sister, the Eagle Talon TSI AWD. Technically she hasn’t broken down, but she has issues 😂 🤣😅. Always pumped to see great DSM content.
great video. im actually thinking about purchasing a 350 and i was wondering if you could do a video of the ups and downs of daily driving a 350z. and how much it cost to maintain a 350. keep up the great vids love them :) and i also live in phoenix
That's an easy question. Good quality parts are going to cost good money vs ebay parts. Senors never want to go eBay majority of them don't last long. Maintenance is a religion with owning any cars. Never skimp on oil changes. Stock oil pressure gauge sucks, go aftermarket from good brand.
I'm dead at the intro. Lol. Damn I didn't realize that both cars are about the same weight. Also, that DSM is mad loud compared to the Z. It's night and day. I know you had a video on it before but putting them side by side makes it a big difference. I know this video definitely makes me want to get my swapped Civic back on the road. I don't know what it is, but it's always more fun to drive a slower car fast, well push it to it's potential. I gotta get unlazy first though. Lol. Keep up the good work man.
I hear ya on the lazy. I been slacking starting off the new year here. The DSM will get toned down here pry next week with an exhaust. It is absolutely obnoxious currently.🙃
Surprisingly enough, the shift lever didn't break off the linkage as you were banging gears in the eclipse... Never knew that was a "thing" until it happened to me...
@@therealjessescheel actually, I baby my 99 Spyder GS. It's not fast by ANY stretch of the imagination. 100% stock aside from the darker green paint. She is very well taken care of. But, seems pulling the shifter out of the floor is "a thing".
I was rooting for the GSX but it honestly went down how I guessed it would... GSX out front first with the Z reeling her in on the big end. Both are awesome cars tho! Big 16g, larger side mount, fueling and tuning and that Z won’t be able to reel her in next time 😉
Honestly I am not totally convinced the GSX loses in a quarter mile as she sits. I never got a chance to run it against the Z from a dead stop without the Z having a driver error. Down the road the Z most likely wont be able to keep up so that's why I ran them now. The GSX needs to get faster. The Z is for drifting and maybe a track day or two! 😊👍
The eclipse has all the acceleration and the z has all the top end :) after I got my eclipse built and and running good is when I sold my Z, after that I didn't need it any more. But I love both of them :)

Depends on the driver like op mentioned. Getting more power out of an already boosted car is easier than going from na to na-t. 350z turbo kits cost easy 7k from soho
I would take the GSX. It’s still my first love. The stock t25 really runs out of steam at high revs. I would recommend a small 16, or even a 14b is a slight upgrade for street light to streetlight racing. Makes it a totally different animal.

@@therealjessescheel dissipating heat energy slows exhaust velocity. Many folks ceramic coat or wrap their exhaust mani, o2 housing and downpipe to retain the heat in and reduce under hood temps.

Ok before I watch this I’m going to vote for the 350z only because the gsx from factory makes a segnificant amount less than the 350, from a launch gsx might take the dub but 350 wins due to more power and torque. I love the gsx and I’m not a huge fan of the 350z but I think that’s just how it will turn out but now I will watch the video and see if I’m correct.
@@therealjessescheel I disagree. The 4G63t is proven to hold reliably as a daily even with 350+ to the wheels. Slap a Garrett T-28 on with some bigger injectors and a tune, you can thank me later 😉
Forget the race, if you’re a DSM owner you’re just excited to see a gsx that can launch without breaking 😂

Down the road I am sure mine will as well in a head to head race. That's why I raced them now. The Z is not for speed. I bought it to learn to drift.

I have a 99 eclipse now converted to awd. Even when it was just fwd it was scary fast. Fully built I will post some vids on TH-cam soon.

Good job with the stats. You might want to add back the oxygen sensor housing heat shield, your alternator will thank you.
Brandon who works on mine recommended I leave it off to help dissipate heat from the turbie. If I start blowing alternators I will. 👍🏼

Amazing looking cars! Nothing wrong with a clean GS! These are not speed demons at this point. Now they are more appreciated for their styling I feel.

Stock for stock yes the 350z will marginally win. Vq35de makes 260 in stock form while the gsx is 210ish.
