Dude, this makes Saturday mornings just like when I used to watch “The Power Block” many many years ago. Super talented at not only what you do, but also at being able to articulate it.

@datgroovy I had a 93 tsi awd 14 years ago. Recently bought an unmolested 91 with a snapped timing belt swapped the head with a slow boy stage 1, head studs all new timing.. It's FWD. While I love the squat and dig of the AWD.. parts are way harder to come by (rear axles, tcase, trans, ect) fwd is still super fun

I want to get my car up and running again and I keep seeing these videos on DSM's bringing the itch back out. I ran a FP black turbo for a few years and that thing was awesome until it suicided and the exhaust turbine tried to eat the housing.

Just need more $$$ to get off the ground.
Alex I'm sure you already know, but when you have one hard to reach bolt like that turbo bolt, break the others free and then re-tighten them before trying to break that last bolt loose. If you leave the others at all loose then there is more pressure on the underside of that bolt head.
My wife and I just spent some time in the UK last spring! Had a great time! From Canada and it's cold here right now too haha. Makes it hard to work on cars and projects. But we are trying to stick to a Friday upload schedule! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
GSX/WRX/etc winter driving tips for your viewers: 1: real snow tires & AWD is totally awesome! 2: ABS “alternative” is stay in gear (down shift as needed). As long as the (front) wheels turn, you will maintain steering! 3: “traction control” is your “right foot & brain” (may require practice). My DD: 06 WRX (replaced 03 WRX that replaced my sweet, Red brand new 1990 DSM that ate 4th timing belt @ 191k, so living vicariously thru Alex’s LSC-DSM!)
I'm a dsm nut with 7 dsms currently but I still wouldn't agree with you lol, there's just so many amazing cars out there it'd be very hard to determine which ones truly the best.

Felt like a kid again watching you rip on this eclipse. My best friend had a 1st Gen Eagle Talon we would race around getting harassed by police and what not 😂 good times. Really took me back with this one!
My Mom had a 1993 Plymouth Laser (same as the Eclipse) when I was growing up. I always loved that car but they sold it when I was 15. The 2nd gens used to be everywhere and now you never see them. They were always cool cars and the reliability was fine as long as you didn't beat on it too hard. It's nice to see one getting restored.
You said the car didnt want to run mafless,is there a possibility that it needs to see intake air temp and when you plugged the maf back in that gave it air temp reference and allowed it to run better?keep up the awesome content man!!!
I've been waiting for this video. So cool. I picked up a 97 talon tsi awd a few months ago and the timing belt broke on me. 😢 so trying to deal with that. Keep up the good work!!
Mine snapped at 47 k mi. Definitely something to keep an eye on - premature breakage. The interference engine required a top end rebuild, etc. It was under warranty still, thankfully.
17:52 It had either a PS1 or a PS2 in the dash, you know in some odd way that makes sense, this was the hero car for the original need for speed underground back then, also credit where credits due, if the broken turbo was still working well enough that you didnt notice, that's some pretty good engineering
You WILL melt the stock plastic fan blades with a big turbo and manifold like this. I melted mine on a bushing 50trim turbo running 20lbs and 550 hp. You need a metal fan blade upgrade, or slim fans to get them further away from the turbo/manifold. Running it hard that turbo and manifold WILL get GLOWING red hot.
I love your love for gm cars especially when you seen that Grand Prix lol. What jdsm lol but the Grand Prix was definitely a beauty especially in our area most are rotted out or that weird fiberglass suspension in the rear..Great video Alex

Use gaskets...🏁 You are depending on your exhaust and the turbocharger surfaces to be ABSOLUTELY FLAT, don't take that chance. Use a gasket and it corrects any imperfections in the sealing surfaces...and there ARE imperfections in the sealing surfaces that's why they make the gaskets.... 31:24.. you don't need coolant..just oil is sufficient
Hahaha that is accurate to how the progression went for me as well. Always watched, but now I look forward to his Saturday uploads haha. We just started a channel and aspire to be as cool as Alex one day
The first car I ever drove and learned how to and not to drive a manual was a fully built 1G Talon TSI (Same thing) back in the early 2000's. It was one of, if not the fastest DSMs in the Pittsburgh area at that time period. It had this sound unlike anything you probably ever heard before. I tried getting my old GSX to sound like it, but just couldn't. It had a 4 inch, yes 4, turbo back with an Arospeed muffler and a log manifold. The sound was really something else. Then it felt like you were in a fighter jet with the G forces putting you in the seat. The same with handling. It stuck to the road like it was on rails. Of course that was then. Now the times changed, but like you mentioned those were the days to experience with the raw excitement without digital everything and having one really brings those back. Hope to see more 4 cylinder content. Even if they all aren't speed demons, they are still fun.

I never thought i would get excited about a 4 cylinder import until now ....really look forward to more mods!
Man this is so badass, i bought my 97 GSX for $1500 in 2016 when i lived in the bay. Still baby it to this day.
Thanks for making the great videos, love the entertainment. I grind during the week as a Volvo tech and catch up with your videos on the weekend. I really admire the channel and have watched it grow over the years. I’m hoping to start my own channel with Volvo performance in mind. I own a few V8 Volvos that need some more power!!! Just need more $$$ to get off the ground.
Great video guys! Love seeing a new video every Saturday.
Alex I'm sure you already know, but when you have one hard to reach bolt like that turbo bolt, break the others free and then re-tighten them before trying to break that last bolt loose. If you leave the others at all loose then there is more pressure on the underside of that bolt head.
Yeah I guess hey? It would reduce SOME pressure by retightening the other 3, thanks.
Hi Chris here from UK. Great video to watch . Its Saturday evening here !! and cold brrrrrr.
My wife and I just spent some time in the UK last spring! Had a great time! From Canada and it's cold here right now too haha. Makes it hard to work on cars and projects. But we are trying to stick to a Friday upload schedule! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
FYI on the fuel pump TI automotive is Walbro.
😅😅😅
Finally! Been waiting for this build!
Yes! I should as waiting for him to get back to this build! I want one for my channel. He always has great projects
GSX/WRX/etc winter driving tips for your viewers:
1: real snow tires & AWD is totally awesome!
After buying an inductor for removing rusty bolts and nuts our garage never looked back ........looks like a tool you could use 😂
Dude, your car is literally smoking! And there was fire coming from the exhaust! So cool!
The Eclipse and Talon AWD's are the BEST cars EVER made, no contest.
I'm a dsm nut with 7 dsms currently but I still wouldn't agree with you lol, there's just so many amazing cars out there it'd be very hard to determine which ones truly the best.
I love this car, i use to have aa white 95 eclipse GS in collage. wasn't to fast with no turbo and only FWD but man that car was fun. glad it at least had the 5 speed manual in it. I'm glad to see these cars still getting some love.
Felt like a kid again watching you rip on this eclipse. My best friend had a 1st Gen Eagle Talon we would race around getting harassed by police and what not 😂 good times. Really took me back with this one!
Hell, yeah!!! 😂
I've been waiting for this! I used to hoon my DSM in the same industrial park your shop is in!
@tennnis498 hoping the pistons are ok
17:52 It had either a PS1 or a PS2 in the dash, you know in some odd way that makes sense, this was the hero car for the original need for speed underground back then, also credit where credits due, if the broken turbo was still working well enough that you didnt notice, that's some pretty good engineering
Hey Alex, great video as usual, made even better this time by your turbo flutter giggle at 32:30😅
You WILL melt the stock plastic fan blades with a big turbo and manifold like this.
I grew up in Oshawa Ontario and it was a very GM city. The GM plants supported the city and everyone drove GM...so i love GM content haha
You need a GM 3" MAF and maf converter to run it after the BOV and vent to atmosphere.
Also ditch that pos old ass Tial BOV and get you an HKS SSQ which are badass!
Why would he use old tech like a GM maf when he is using speed density?
@@Rumsey.30HATE Because he is not using speed density right now, nor can he.
Using speed density requires a standalone ECU or DSM link which he is not using that I have seen.
All that is also way more money and headache then you need when a simple reliable 3" GM maf with converter works perfectly simply and cheaply.
Greddy type s or nothing.
@@riverpirate1022did you somehow miss the part of the video where he was getting a remote tune to run speed density? Talkin outta your ass at this point 🤷🏿♀️
21:41 as I put an American hellcat fuel pump in my dsm let me worry about the dsm oem screw. I love this guy.❤
Might wanna go through every screw and window seals. Make sure everything is tight and secure if that thing had a big stereo system.
I really wish I still had my eclipse spyder... It was amazing!! Great video again guys!!
At my funeral I just want turbo noises and two stroke sounds!
Haha! A couple of 250s ripping some red bull x fighters stuff on your mound of dirt? 🤘
Alex... You are by far the best TH-camr for Cool car videos. Always so thorough, and you always go play with your car after you're done working on them. No body else does that!!!
My friend Bill Walls won the awd nationals and broke records in a awd eclipse
Been here since the 200$ amg video 6 years ago. Chicago native myself, happy for you brother!!
Honestly, I haven’t even seen one of those running in over a decade! Neat little cars and good to see one coming back to life!
Question, should you use a zinc plated bolt on an exhaust manifold? Won’t the heat melt zinc and make it loosen?
And with the undercar sprayer, add vinegar to the water 50/50 and it will neutralize the salt!
So. I just had to watch all 4 videos on this. Thanx Alex and Max for what you do.
Thanks!!
SATURDAY.......enough said
Haha youtube car content is the best part of my weekend! That's why we started uploading on Fridays.
19:25 Bro Champion are back in style, that vintage run is worth 💵 now 😂
You are living the dream man! Your channel is very entertaining and I can´t believe the cool toys you get your hands on. Don´t forget to play with your kids,
He really is! That's why we started a channel. Seeing how much fun he has, and how cool of a job it is... Also we are already messing around with cars. Figured we'd make a channel!
The only bad part about LSC videos is the end. Because now the video is over, and i have to find something to watch 😂
Thanks brother! I always appreciate you watching all the videos!
Thank you for showing how to wire the hellcat fuel pump. I used it as a guide to wire up mine and it worked like a charm
Feel like Peter should pop out and help with this one? What happened to him?
💯. Miss that man
I also want to know what happened to Peter
Whatever he did wasn't good for Alex to part ways with him. I'm assuming he had some personal issues that wasn't in line with Alex's vision of his shop and channel.
@@nicholasfoley7105 Maybe we can interpret the like you got from lsc that you probably are correct. I could also have been that Peter just wanted to do something else. But still i would have loved for Alex to actually tell us what happened.
Who? Who?
@@Censortubes
Sideburns! This is my very first platform and why I started watching your channel. Good stuff
Alex driving gsm with new turbo is like watching a kid in a candy store, nothing but smiles!
Loving this series!! That install turned out great! I've owned a 93 GSX, 92 TSi FWD and an uber rare 91 Galant VR-4 back in the day! Some of my best memories were in those cars! Can't wait for the next video!
Watching you struggle with every bolt that is a struggle every time on these cars is giving me an odd sense of joy to my 15yr ago self
I get joy from NOT having to work on my gas car anymore
@@harriettanthony7352 your a disappointment

@@benjaminboshaw8858I agree 😁
What a nostalgic video ... I daily drove a '96 GST from '02 to '08. Bone stock stock when I got it. Installed intake, cast header, Walbro 255 + relay, and a manual boost controller. Turbine wheel broke off the stock turbo (weird failure ... lots of rattling, no smoke and no power) so I had it rebuilt with bigger wheels. Never got really attached to it though since I barely fit at 6'1", it was FWD only (traction and wheel hop limited), and it was an automatic (probably the worst automatic I've ever put up with).
Is this the one that you bought with "he who shall not be named"?
For real what happened to Peter?
@@sbrent284he said a long while ago so this is from memory, but he never exactly said what happened, all he said was that there was something he did and now he’s trespassed from the shop and Alex’s family and such
@@sbrent284he turned out to be Yakuza family, Dominic Torreto came out and said he is the Family and Alex had to let him go
@@sbrent284dude was a creep who dated underage women
Peter was only making $15/hr he asked for a raise to $20/hr to keep up with inflation and alex canned him!
Great snow car. I had one of these. When we got a snow dump I would just launch it up into a snow bank to park. I knew it would drive out no problem, the only limitation being the ground clearance.
My neighbor had one and would always do the same thing! I've wanted one of these before fast and furious even came out. Very cool car
"Sometimes you just need a little fire" Yep. But sometimes you need a bigger hammer.
I read this just as he said it 😂
I had a FP turbo on my GSX the big t28. Stock housing ( was a sleeper build) 16g wheel on the inside. Full boost at 2000-2200 rpm and a steady 21lb of boost to redline with no creeping. Still my all time favorite street setup.
How did you get your boost threshold so low? My DSM & 16g turbo (exhaust & air filter) was more like 2600-2900
I wish peter was still in the videos.
OMG!!! I owned a 5-speed 1992 Grand Prix GTP! Miss that car. Was a lot of fun driving that!
This build doesn't hit the same without the other guy
I´m surprised that it wasn´t scrapped...

Out of all my cars Ive owned:
1993 lightning
2003 lightning
2002 camaro 35th
1999 trans am
1973 f100 5.4 lightning swap
1991 gmc syclone number 0828
And like another 10 or 15 cars I had a 1992 eagle talon tsi 4 bolt diff, 5 speed, 6 bolt 4g63 stock. Red in color all the electronics awd in colorado weather I quickly learned muscle cars and trucks were over rated. It was 2008 and lets just say that car got me thru a tough economy or my first recession. If only...
I've owned an Evo IX MR since 2006 and have been counting the days for this Eclipse to return...that day is now! \o/
I love the heat shrink and heat solder = awesome inventions
kind of like you I have wanted a 2g Eclipse since I can remember, and I usually now have only dealt with American or English cars. But about 2 weeks ago I found and bought a 98 GS Spyder 5spd; and while yes yes it isnt the GSX blah blah I LOVE THIS CAR, I Love the way it looks, handles, and feels. its completely stock though well-used. But even though one of the control arms/balljoints already failed on me while driving ( thankfully at low speeds causing minimal damage which I have fixed now) I STILL love this car! I wish it was a AWD NON spyder but beggars cant be choosers. Im just happy it drives!.. Such an Iconic car!! more on this please!
I just wish I had an area where I could wash my car indoors in the winter. Nice job on the turbo install.
I know what you mean...I wish I had that too. Even my Volunteer fire hall has to wash our trucks outside
Well setup DSM are wonderful. Also, FP makes great turbos.
God she looks SO FUN. I've wanted one of these since before I could drive!
My neighbor growing up had a Pontiac GTP just like that. That guy daily driving it in your video: true legit street car!
Gotta love Alex’s true passion for automobiles…especially 90’s icons!
Damn you Alex. Reigniting my DSM dreams from 20 years ago when I spent hundreds of hours putting together a build list for one of these. Damn you.
Man you are a talented dude. I think I speak for everyone when I say "on behalf of all your subscribers and myself, thank you for all the help and information you continually upload," it has saved me many times from pulling my heart out. YOU ROCK BROTHER
Love your positive attitude and energy big guy. Keep up the great work!
Twins Tuning are DSM legends! Love the build Alex, brings back so many memories
when I was 17 my dad bought a 1994 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo in Viper Red. Needless to say anytime I got to drive that was just the best. That car is pretty much a Eclipse or Talon...but more. You should get one!
Those turbo bolts are always a joy. This took me back..
Alex, you're gone years ago from hey, I'll check this video out today or tomorrow to Oh wow, it's time to drop everything now and watch immediately!
