Thanks mate, good value video, and all the history of Len is very interesting too,I have read all I can get my hands on about all his work out there in the desert.
We completed the Anne Beadell Highway May 2019 and glad to do so, the corrugations were absolutely brutal, the worst I’ve ever driven by far. You guys made it look easy & smooth.
Ronnie was on this track a few days before we were and reported the corrugations were bad as well. I thinbk he smoothed them out for me because I thought the majority of the track was like a real highway.
Very well done Gavin, on my bucket list to retrace Len’s tracks. We had the same experience with some camels on our trackless Simpson crossing outside Alice Springs, it’s difficult to know what to do because as you said, they will end up running themselves to death. Keep up the good work😎👍
Thanks mate, yeah I was really surprised when we stopped for 15 minutes and then about 45min after we started driving again they were still running. Blew me away at their stamina
Tricky question as it depends on your vehicle and how many side tracks you explore. However, the majority of the track is hard, flat and well maintained so if you bank on 50% more than your normal road usage you will comfortably get to the midpoint fuel stop.
Wow leaving the track to stradle a wash out to get a shot then chasing dingos lighting half the bush on fire and running camels nearly to death all for you production you fit in at rio perfectly . Say hi to the ceo for me and look forward to seeing you on a remote track one day . Ps have you ever heard of the saying UN AUSTRALIAN !!!!!!!
Terrible reviews of HEMA since their new ownership.. their iOS app (for a long time) didn't even support the latest iOS... its a dog a program these days
Oh no, I've still got the old gear so works well. One thing I heard and dont know if its true or not but HEMA might be Chinese owned now? Not sure if the map patroller will keep going out if so.
It's a bit rough but I hope you like it :D
Gavin Gillett yeah we do mate, glad to se you again 😊👍🏻
@@fairdinkum9454 thanks mate :)

Thanks for coming back Gav.
Yay!!! Been a long time between drinks 😎
excellent night shots. Great stuff
Good to see you back, love the vids
Great video. You should post it on the Anne Beadell Highway Facebook group. Members of Len Beadells family are on there 👍
Phil McAvity joined 👍
Most sites dont like it when the producer of a video posts it onto their page. They are often more accepting when a fan or member does it instead.
Glad to see you back!
Good to see you again fella. Great episode, Cheers

Great content Gav and Welcome back!👍 can u ask what time of year did you travel the track?
How much fuel do you need on this trip?

@@GavinGillett Thanks. I only have a 90L fuel tank with a "normal" range of about 800km... How far is the mid-way fuel point?
@@scumpert the longest section is 779km, Ilkurlka Roadhouse to Coober Pedy. www.hemamaps.com/explore/tracks/anne-beadell-highway
@@GavinGillett Thanks!
Truly middle of nowhere hey
Hi Gavin, Track Care WA does not have a copy of that book. It would be nice to know if anyone has it and can get it to us!, Graham
Hmm, sounds like a future trip is in order :D

Hi Mick,
Thanks for watching and welcome to the outback mate.
Whip out the rifle and drop them next time, save yourself time and save the outback.
It would be tempting, between goats, camels and feral pigs they do an enourmous amount of damage to the outback.
It's pronounced "nu-cular" Gavin.... Nucular 😂
Hahah I'm just a Pilbara bloke doing the best I can lol
