  • Want to know why Universalism, the Law of Attraction, Mysticism, Religious Pluralism, and Oneness isn't Biblical? Well, here you have it. In a previous video linked below, I went over Five New Age teachings that I have seen enter into the church. Though there were a lot, I only went over the top five I saw the most. I won't be going over each one in detail like I did in the last video, but I will be going over how each one of these beliefs is completely against what the Bible says and what Jesus taught. Think of this as a sort of follow up video from the last one.

Melissa, "you've come a long way , baby!" I learned a lot from you. You will make great apologist. I think you'll are as able as David Wood. He's converting Muslims and you fight to win souls away from the New Age. You're in my prayers.

Cynthia Yargus, David Wood is not converting anyone. He is planting seeds. No one comes unless the Father draws them. We are all to be the hands, feet and face of Christ. We can never take credit for who is saved and who is not. Churches that keep a scorecard are honing their own reputation and it is unbiblical. All glory to God.

I would say that Melissa’s ministry has even more power to lead people to the Lord than David Wood (who I do respect a lot) because she is keeping everything completely objective and leaving her personal opinions and feelings out. Im getting more and more disappointed in Mr. Wood’s videos because they have become quite sarcastic and opinionated, when his true facts alone speak loud enough for themselves-and I fear that he is putting people off with his style. It’s one thing to put people off with the TRUTH ABOUT JESUS and another by unloving behaviors and attitudes and mockery. I applaud you Melissa for keeping it REAL, TRUTHFUL, HONEST and GRACEFUL at the same time. Love you!

It is so sad to see so many people in the Church that do not read their Bibles and they're ok with that, that's the reason for so many false teachings entering the Church, if we don't know the Word of God then we have no solid ground to stand upon. When I first heard about contemplative prayer, I knew it wasn't quite right: if God needs me to be quiet and mentally inactive in order to hear Him, then He's not being heard very much, I think. Lol. Sometimes He surprises me when I'm not thinking of Him. Sometimes He guides me in His timing. Sometimes He speaks when all around me is raging. That's the God I know.

Melissa!!! I want to thank God that I found you. Your prequel to this video was the first video I watched which challenged everything that I have been being taught at my current church. I am a literally only a couple weeks into researching all of these things and what the bible actually says. It is because of this revelation of the true gospel of Jesus Christ that I actually want to read my bible every single day and I no longer wish to be in the dark. I thought many of these things were true at one point. This did not happen overnight either. It was a gradual process that had me questioning many things from the beginning of my time in what would probably be considered and NAR church. I'm very grateful for you and your passion for the bible. I hope to be an apologist as well because of this change! :)

That's me and my husband too! We'd been going to NAR and neo evangelical churches for several years and never really brought ourselves to read the bible. Then we watched the first American Gospel video here on TH-cam and fell in love with reading the bible! It's been wonderful! I'm so happy you've discovered/rediscovered the gospel truth and love for Him also!
Some other good videos to watch are Third Adam and Third Adam 2 by Spencer Smith. The beginning of Third Adam 2 can be a little annoying but I understand why he did it that way, just hang in there with it for the first 10 mins or so and it gets better. These are the two videos that really convicted us and caused us to seek a new church to attend.

Thank you, Melissa. This was excellent. I've never heard it explained so plainly and clearly before. Now I have the knowledge of what these things are that have been blowing in the wind all around me. I am 62 years old and most of these teachings have only recently crept into the 'church'. I don't remember encountering a lot of that when I was growing up in church. But it is rampant now. It is heartbreaking to know that some of the most anointed songwriters I grew up listening to and playing their songs with my guitar and singing them in church have fallen prey to the Universalism heresy. And to see it preached from mega church platforms by big name celebrity ministries is so monstrous because it is like the pied piper leading the children straight to hell in oblivion. God bless you for putting the Truth out there....Yeshua's Truth. The Way, The Truth and The Life. HalleluYah!

It's a miracle to me that Jesus forgives us and loves us each day despite our wicked ways. All it takes is trust, but we continue to rely on ourselves to find peace, but it never comes until we humble ourselves and believe in the miracle of Jesus's resurrection. I have to say this daily to stay strong in my faith for I am weak.

@@peterlloyd5457 I love that song as well, but the song is not very old. The verse that puts us in the crowd shouting for Jesus crucifixion brings the reality of the gospel message, for it was because of our wicked behaviour that God came to save us. Much more powerful to see our sin in action at the cross, than to just think about it and not seek to be rid of it, and accept the life Jesus offers. And to think this is a free gift by faith alone, and not by seeking other exhausting and fruitless ways; building our tower of Babel to exalt ourselves. But Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

I want to point out that the flavor of universalism Melissa mentions is not what Gary Amirault taught; it is not exactly like religious pluralism, or mean that God is not just or that what you believe is irrelevant. With a God that eventually succeeds in persuading everyone to accept Christ of their own free will, it doesn't follow that it doesn't matter what you do, or that Jesus died for nothing. Amirault would say that all men do need Christ to be saved, it's just that Christ is not just the potential savior but the actual savior of all men, and would deny that all religions lead to salvation. Simply, everyone will become Christian eventually. Jesus came to give everyone a path to God, but all those paths go through Jesus.

As a Charismatic, I am horrified at the spread of New Age beliefs in our churches. People are lazy and/or arrogant if they refuse to search the Scriptures to test anything supernatural that occurs in our lives or meetings. I think it distracts from legitimate practice of spiritual gifts that are described in the Bible. The counterfeits have been displacing the genuine.

The Gospel message is good news for all, no matter your walk of life. If you can't preach your message (prosperity gospel, WoF, law of attraction) to an orphaned child on the streets of India or a widow with starving children in the heart of Africa, then it's worthless and not of Jesus. Jesus never excludes anyone from His gift of salvation.

Signs and wonders will not make us believe. Look at the Israelites. They witnessed the plagues sent to Egypt. They witnessed the parting of the sea. Not to mention the wonders God did in the wilderness. Still they did not believe. If we will study the bible, Jesus preach the gospel first. Then signs and wonders followed. That's also the same with the deciples. They preach, and the words were confirmed by signs and wonders. It only shows that the Word of God alone is all we need to believe. And God will not create miracles just for us to believe. That is manipulation. God loves us unconditionally that He will not violate our free will.

Question about mysticism: Back in 2018, I was really depressed. Lost hope for the future and doesn't really have plans at all. My mom got a ticket to a Church conference and instead of her going she urged me to go. Just for me to get outside the house. So I did 'cos I really don't care. Like whatever... There at the conference, I experienced something. Like God's presence. I told God, "if He is real, let me feel Your presence." I did feel Him there. At the conference, I met a pastor named Steven Furtick. Until now I listen to him. His preaching helped me get through depression. That God is with me getting through my suffering. After that conference, I began reading the Bible. The one that I got as a gift in high school. It made me more hungry to learn more and study more and talk more about God. Sadly the people I'm surrounded with don't have the fire, the hunger that I have. So right now I am seeking by myself. And I found this youtube.
    Does my experience explain mysticism?
Your last question, about if I haven't experienced Jesus, would I still believe in Him? Thinking about it, I'd say no. And that made me sad. Like I have to have a physical miracle, something that I can see, to believe in him. But... How can I share the Word of God without these experiences?
Or am I misunderstanding the whole mysticism?
Please help. I am not always notified here in youtube for replies so maybe you guys can reply to me by email. 👉🏼jeza25alexa@yahoo.com

Melissa, you are doing well in exposing darkness and error. Yet, is there not also a danger in having a Christian faith that is only intellectual and lacking in faith in God's ability to act in our lives? Unbelief is a reality. Scripture does speak of especially in the NT of a life with Christ that is Scriptural and experiential. We love God with our heart, soul, mind and strength. We can experience Scripture and Christ in our lives.

I’m not sure where Melissa says in this video or other videos that her faith is only intellectual and lacking in God’s miraculous presence. I align myself a lot with Melissa: I love apologetics, and I shamelessly love the intellectual and historical aspects of Christianity. You’ll always find me geeking out about how well Scripture is written and what it reveals about the nature of God! I love reading scripture and books of apologetics and books about theology. I’m known for talking anyone’s ear off about theology lol.
And yet, I acknowledge God’s ability to preform supernatural acts and wonders. In fact, I’ve witnessed healings and prayers miraculously and inexplicably answered! My relationship with the Lord is marked by me witnessing his Spirit and presence to me!
I’m not sure why or how loving scripture and being intellectual is seen as not experiencing God’s powers. In fact, I’ve found that they go together!! The more I read and learn, the more God reveals himself to me.

because you are no longer trapped into this dark, deceiving, prideful, evil, depraved belief, movement, practice, religion or whatever they wanna call it 🤮👎🏼❌
I have come here to ask you and whoever else interested to join me and pray for my dearest and loving friend Alfredo Ferrer who is deep into the new age, calls himself a Buddhist at heart and Indigo child 🤦🏼‍♀️
It breaks my heart to see how my loving friend has turned into this bitter, arrogant, selfish, self centered, narcissist, egocentric human, who devotes and trust the universe,
(supposedly God), the moon stars, horoscope, etc 😣😔😭
Relying so much into affirmations, manifesting, law of attraction, maintain a positive attitude, vibration, meditation, burn sage, align chakras, energy, I mean, the idolatry and rituals are endless 🙄😒
My loving friend has develop different personalities, is completely lost. 😔
As a fitness trainer he has expressed among his clientele how they can obtain anything they want all they have to do is manifest, that we are all powerful creators, whose reality can be self created .. 😒🤦🏼‍♀️
I did expose the dangers of dabbling with new age and witchcraft to my friend as I learn directly from the Lord Who brought me to find out all the satanic, darkness and danger that is involved in the new age, that it’s in fact an abomination to God, but my friend didn’t wanna hear one word, he rejected all
Now we no longer talk, not of my wish but his 💔😔😭
I pray for my loving friend Alfredo and many others to receive a merciful interventional calling from the Lord, a revolutionary breakthrough calling that will bring him and many more to humble themselves in repentance to recognize their sins, the acknowledgement of the only Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection

Please pray for my son Lu. He has been very argumentative about doing bible studies lately. Claiming that I am "shoving it down" his throat and it's "all day, everyday" when I ask him to give me one hour a day of listening while he does other things. He's been cooperative in the past. I don't know if it's spiritual or just a bad week, but I would appreciate your prayers! God bless!

Pray for his desire and heart (I will too), but perhaps don’t make it a chore. If he feels it’s a chore, he will be less likely to gain the desire naturally. He could easily go through rough patches. Have faith. This may be exactly what he needs to gain the desire from within. You are absolutely trying to be a good parent and that’s lovely. I’m simply sharing from experience where I never rejected learning (Christian school etc), but when something feels like a chore or “system” it can interfere with the on fire desire to simply BE with and learn from God. Whether he opens the Bible for one minute or 10 hours... it is more powerful if God places the desire in his heart and he hears Him speak His love to him. That is more powerful than any regimens and will gradually grow naturally. Just give him space to grow, and pray hard for him between you and God. ❤️

Don't worry and pray. My mum listened to Transworld Radio broadcasts every night for years and I listened and hated them. But once I moved out and had to fend for myself, I quickly became overwhelmed and on the brink of alcoholism came back and listened to a Billy Graham meeting broadcast on the same station and gave my life to the Lord on 4th August 1984. Have been following him ever since. God will make a way for your son, and when it happens it will be real and not something taught. But in the mean time keep doing what you are doing for it will not be wasted.

    Regarding "the Bible only":
The Bible itself affirms creation to be a revelation of God (Rom 1:19-20; Mat 5:45; Mat 6:26+28).
It is necessary to corroborate the teachings we get from the Bible with what we can see in creation, as far as this is possible. For example, the Bible says that trees have hands (Is 55:12). Only by looking at creation we can tell that this is a metaphor.

Ms. Dougherty...I enjoy your very sensible videos and I certainly appreciate that after the haziness of new age subjectivism the hard objectivity of scripture is a great relief but one can't slight the idea of oneness altogether. After all if all things are established and created in and through the Word as the prologue to John affirms, then all things ARE, to that extent, connected. That is why, in fact, there has historically been Christian mysticism of a very different sort than the vapid new age variety. Some here might say, well that's a deformation of the Catholic and Orthodox communions but there is mysticism in the Protestant world too as in Pietism. Keep up the god work

It's so awesome that you pointed this out that in the Old Testament [Deut] there was a sense of self-effort with the word "might;" like in a person's own strength that was in keeping the law; and in the New Testament [Matt], Jesus replaces the word "might" with the word "mind" as if to say that it is not in our self effort that we can be saved but in the strength of Jesus for everything that he was going to do was the unthinkable thing which was to willfully be a sacrifice and what mere man would actually willfully be a sacrifice?! Hallelujah for this thanks to Father Son and Holy Spirit for your obedience, Melissa 😁👍

Thank you for making these videos and I’m so glad I found them. I have to say that unfortunately new age is not in just hyper charismatic churches. I grew up in a baptist church and there are people (probably even now/still) believing that we (humans and religions) believe in the same god, we’ve just chosen a different path. And you also get to heaven even if you haven’t accepted Jesus in your heart but purely based on the fact that their parents were saved (I sincerely hope that was meant as a joke by that person who said it though). Anyway, these videos have been helping me to spot some of the things that I haven’t even realised myself.

Maybe he was both but maybe neither but not one or the other. Yes, Social Justice is in the Bible but it is not a new gospel. They have reduced Jesus as a good example not lifting him up as who he is. So frustrating. So deceiving.

    Regarding "the law of attraction":
The Bible teaches this "law" in many places (Deut 28-30; Proverbs; Jer 17:10; Gal 6:7).
And there is no magical or supernatural connection. This takes place in the natural realm.
And hence this is a matter of God's general revelation in creation. People have perceived that the "law of attraction" or the "wish to the universe" works. So there is nothing wrong in teaching them, and for that it doesn't matter at all whether God is involved or not.
There can be misunderstandings, though. We cannot manipulate the world to give us what we want. Humility is the key.

Law of attraction may work for some people for some time, but intreresting what many who left it say: that those manifistations often were temporal and often didn't lead to something good in the end. Also twisted and perverted their view of things and often made them very materialistic. It may "work" cause you activate evil spirits, but as with every other demonic practice, it brings more trouble in other area. Must be stressful too, and what if for ex a loved one dies and you "didn't manage to manifest their healing", or someone gets sick / dies and you recall thinking a bad thougts about them. Sure, Bible affirms thoughts & words have some impact, but not in that way. Unless it's part of a witchcraft ritual, which is demonic.

Some time ago, I encountered information regarding mental health counselors in my community. What I found was that there are many unlicensed mental health counselors who actually call themselves something else - such as spiritual counselors. They also practice counseling in churches where they charge a mandatory donation (as opposed to a fee). This is how they get around the licensure requirement. Some of these also include as part of their counseling practice - how to use the law of attraction effectively, how to manifest your reality - and a lot of other nonsense characteristic of the New Age - New Truth movement. I have seen this is evangelical churches as well as more liberal churches. It is time to clean house.

I do not know if I would demand any signs or wonders. I do know I wouldn't be alive today if not for the miraculous ways he has changed my heart and the dreams he's given me. I know I've asked for signs and wonders, but in many ways, they were just because I didn't feel like I was close enough to God to recognize him otherwise. A deeper relationship with him would be much better than miracles.

Why though? I spent over 20 years believing in trinitarianism before realizing that the monotheistic God of the Old Testament hasn't changed. You can't have three people in a monotheistic Godhead. Its that simple. Three people in one, is by definition polytheism. Every false religion under the Sun has a trinity. God is not a trinity. He is one God in three offices. Father Son & Holy Spirit are titles, not people. I'm a sister, Cousin and Aunt, three titles, one person. We baptize in the name of the Father Son & Holy Spirit -- JESUS. The disciples baptized in JESUS name. Not Father Son and Holy Spirit, because there aren't THREE, there is ONE great and glorious God.

29:28 I'm not a universalist, but I think a Christian universalist would say that the point of Jesus dying on the cross was so that everyone would be saved.
In other words, everyone wouldn't "go to heaven anyway," but instead, they go to heaven only because of Jesus.
Jesus had to die in order for anyone to be saved. It is just that God will lead everyone to faith and repentance, and so everyone will be saved.

A lot of new agers use the earthly father analogy, but remember Romans 1, making the incorruptible God into corruptible man or Psalm 51, making the mistake that God is like us. "God not wanting His children to suffer"...I think we got to be careful. Suffering is all over the Bible: Job, James, Paul, Daniel, Israelites, Jesus... I am not saying that God will in no way heal you. I am just saying do not put all ur hope in the expectation that you definitely will be healed, whatever ailment u have. In the video she mentioned Shedrach, Abednego, Meshrach (I'm not sure the spelling here pardon me) but they are key. They said they believe God will deliver them, but "even if He doesn't"... I mean just wow at that statement. That's the faith you should have. Trusting God whatever His will is not expecting God to fulfill your will. If you really are saved, thank God and just remember you serve Him. He doesn't serve you. Your life is for His glory. His glory is not for your life. Put your trust in Him and keep praying.

Lots of what you've said here still really rings true for me and my personal ongoing maturing in the faith. Kinda especially the personal challenge/question as to whether the person - without anything emotional/high experience at all - would still love and be devoted to Christ. He/she who must experience to believe must keep experiencing to keep believing.
I'll share with you that I personally have seen and come through lots of so-called "holy fire", "baptism of the Holy Spirit", "soaking" stuff (all years ago now) and I'm still believing on Christ alone. Not by anything I have done but by Him and Him alone. And I'll also say again that many people still don't get the simplicity of Grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. There's something about the earthly mentality of the heart/will of man and wanting to add something/anything on to something this simple. I often tell my Christian brothers and sisters here that I'm actually very glad that God made one way to Him! God's blessings on your week.

The most important question that often goes ignored or misunderstood is this.
What is God? The father and creator? Or a portrayal? An idea? A common answer is God's nature can't be defined with words, but if that's the case wouldn't most of the texts and spoken words be written or spoken without any knowledge of God? If that's the case, then the only awareness of God is some kind of "presence" that can't be understood in any way(?)
Like a mathematical equation in which the numbers cannot be seen, and only the sum can be seen.

The only thing that matters when talking about the Oneness is the bible.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6
If the bible says Jesus is the MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE, it don't matter what any trinitarian Pope following heretic says. At judgement you'll be judged by the word of God, not the constructs of man.

Oh boy, you REALLY got into something VERY disturbing there but I'm not even going to point out where - because the FIRST thing people will do is go right out and try it except it's not a good idea and we DO have access to the answers of God on any particular subject and we DON'T need to go out and operate on our own, just because there ARE somewhat 'open doors' potentially there.
Jesus Christ is NOT against wealth and people having money and I think too many people go in other directions to find material wealth - whereas Christianity is the 'God-path' to complete satisfaction and what Jesus calls 'refined gold.' Joseph of Arimathea was very wealthy, so was Nicodemus. But they served God and Jesus and His Apostles with their wealth, and there are some pretty austere concepts taught by Christ about wealth and not being attached to earthly material wealth. Greed, pride, lust for power and money - these are immense hurdles to a largely unseen God being the primary objective of one's life. It is certainly not easy to be rich and to seek and then find the Kingdom of God. It presumes one even knows how to identify 'a pearl of great price' in the first place - before you can sell all that you have an commit it to that pearl. The path - logically - then must be to spend your time understanding what such a pearl looks like and is like FIRST, BEFORE setting out to acquire such a thing.
