The fact that roblox TH-camrs get paid more than game developers is sad. The developers are the ones who gives the youtubers content and some of them don't even link it.
For anyone wondering, Experiences are called that way due to a lawsuit against Epic Games by Apple where Epic pointed out that ROBLOX had games with microtransactions, so they avoided it by renaming them.
yeah i mean tbh not really mad at that move for roblox bc imagine if roblox got tooken out of app store lots of kids would be heartbroken and a big part of their money would go down.
I've been on Roblox (albeit very inactively the past few years) since 2012. It's been sad watching the game become worse and worse over time. Games have improved a ton since then, but Roblox's business practices have not. They have axed literally every event they used to hold themselves on the site and now rely on sponsors and individual creators to make events.
I’ll clear some things. There is no “gambling” as country’s control that if they allow gambling or not, and by gambling they mean opening eggs for in game coins? Psx. If it was really such a big deal wouldn’t Roblox be closed? Hm. Let’s look closer… my close friend is a Roblox staff, and he pointed out to me that you can NOT cash out “limiteds” as you can only cash out real money from dev ex. Also, the stock market isn’t controlled by Roblox, it’s run from the players. Work exploiting? No. As my friend is a worker there, he says he gets paid well, and that if you are a dev in Roblox, you can hit it big or go home. This is real life people, what do you expect? It’s a fair risk you have to take. For example adopt me, a roblox game has its own team of 1k people and earned 14 MILLION dollars just this year. Everything they pointed out can be explained. Got a question or objection? Point it out to me and I’ll make sure to reply. I am not a Roblox simp but this is just wrong 😑
Tbh I had soooo many memories with roblox (like I would play this game like 24/7 it was that enjoyable!) Until mid 2016 or 15 I believe, my account got hacked due to me getting scammed for free robux. I kinda stop playing roblox for many years until I came back to it, there was so many changes made. It’s upsetting how people use this for dating and harassment which I see a mass of people do these things. There were a lot of this that I love so so so much such as horror games that I never played and especially games that I’ve played on my old account that I still enjoyed till this day. Knowing about these things really feels overwhelming to everyone especially kids and families. I’m 15 now and I do have a roblox account. I don’t play too often than the last time I’ve done as a little kid but I only play it whenever I have friends with me that are close to me to play :).
Being an old Roblox player, I'm disappointed in Roblox as a whole. You sir have done a tremendous job on the exposure and have my upmost respect. Edit: Replies are a warzone
@@xestyxerion7535 First off as a roblox expert/player i want to clearify something Roblox is not child labour making game's is like making youtube video's to make money like a succeful brand or roblox game and obv they profit off that just like youtube does. How are you going to trust someone saying that roblox underpay's there employee's without any proof that just dump They have no proof.
As a player of Roblox myself, I truly agree that this billion dollar corporation is one of the most evil businesses out there. They can't do one single thing that the community wants, problems pile together, every week a new lawsuit is out.
You've forgotten a significant detail on this. ROBLOX has become out of touch with its community. Those "experiences" used to be called games by roblox until apple changed that. There was a second currency named Tickets, you got a certain amount everyday and could trade tickets for robux. ROBLOX's corporate greed is causing them to remove many fun things from their platform. Hell, they're removing core parts of their platform, like how they're removing R6(a 6 part avatar which a lot of users use) and keeping R15(15 part avatar which a majority uses) and rthro(a human-like avatar that the community hates, and mainly only uses for trolling purposes). Not only does roblox know removing r6 will break many games, but they're still going through with it after backlash from their community. They even have their own awards cereminues, the bloxy awards, which again they took the fun and life out of and went with the corporate normal name for awards: the "innovation awards." They also had events for the community like egg hunts and halloween events, which they also removed, but now they "readded" events, which are actually just business promotions, like the gucci promo. They have also pissed off their community by removing the beloved "OOF" sound. Almost every update they make causes their community to become pissed, it just goes to show you how out-of-touch from their community ROBLOX has become.
I still can’t freaking believe they’re removing r6. The only thing left now is the old Roblox items. At this point I won’t even be surprised if they remove those
The document that said they're removing R6 could be faked. It was leaked so we really can't trust anything on it until we get to the day the document says they'll remove it
The r6 rumor was actually just something from 2018 that resurfaced for no reason. Also they had to remove tix because nobody really ever bought robux and their company wasn't making any money
@@SoupyMittens actually it resurfaced during to the "leak" of some of the internal operations of roblox, which included a "Sunset R6" plan. While I'm not sure if the leak was made up or not, or if it is that it is still the plan, it didn't spur up out of the blue.
Roblox’s path to corruption started from when they went public and started to try to appeal to their investors Nowadays, roblox is so out of touch with the community that’s it’s almost laughable. Now all they do is add questionable features for their investors.
They just don’t care about the community anymore , im a small gaming youtuber who did roblox videoed before , I’ve been a player since 2017 and it just sucks.
Being a Roblox player since 2015 it's just sad to see what a place many of us thought would become extremely famous and surpass big games actually took the worst turn. Went from a masterpiece to a shithole, even it's community.
I agree. I started In 2016 and it used to be a great game with a great community but now everything has gotten extremely worse and everything has gone to shit

Except no one is forced to use that shitty platform and parents can keep their children away from it, while if you try the same in an authoritarian country you will be jailed, tortured or killed. I know Roblox actions are shady and horrible but it's not even remotely comparable to an authoritarian regime. The later is magnitudes worse and we need people to be aware of that.
2012 Roblox player here, and believe me, i did not expect this site to go so abruptly downhill ever since Erik's passing, and neither did almost anyone playing the game at that time. Something needs to be done about it, but i'm very skeptic about it doing something in the long run, since David and the other higher-ups at Roblox are ignorant of *their own fanbase.*

2013 Roblox player here. I fully agree what you are saying and I didn’t really expect roblox to go so abruptly down hill. I remember reading one of the roblox blog talking about Erik’s passing and it was sad as hell. I remember stopped playing roblox for a few years (i would believe 2015 or 2016). Actually came back after few years by playing with my friends only. When roblox got into public listing, this whole thing happens. It was like roblox is in disastrous state at the moment. For me returning is like at the worst time to play. But this is sad that Roblox is heading to where we don’t really like. I guess this is like every game company. When they have bigger money, they will go insane.
To me it feels like this guy is telling a story in every video, its like a book that i would pick up and read. I really like his style of video scripting and i am definitely subscribing for more
The paradigm of storytelling is deeply embedded in the way we communicate. It's how we passed down information from generation to generation--stories. Examples, explanations, and lessons all packaged as characters acting things out. We're evolved to tell and be told stories. It's a good way to teach, an effective way to make an argument, and a classic way to entertain If not the only way. What isn't a story? Things haven't changed
I am thankful I left Roblox in 2021. That game is so overrated. I left because there wasn’t really any interesting games and the community is dreadful. Back when I joined Roblox in 2016, they were so much better. Also, the removal of the “oof” sound just makes me loose all remaining respect for Roblox. They are a multi-billion dollar company and they refused to pay *$10,000* for one of their most iconic sounds. The new death sound on Roblox sounds awful and sounds like Eric Cartman getting winded.
I cant get how a multibillion dollar company, A company that makes hundreds of thousands per day, cant afford a small percentage of what they make in a day as the price to pay for a literal staple of their own company. Yet they continue to drive towards the whole meta thing.
As an avid roblox user, im glad that more and more people are speaking out about the problems at roblox. Roblox is one of the worst companies, and multiple of my friends have been seriously effected with that that took place on roblox, or are connected with it. I hope that this video helps with improving things at roblox.
@@gibbon2381 Yeah, but I think Roblox is still a bit worse than BHVR, although both companies are extremely out of touch with their respective games. *Insert obligatory hockey joke here*
As a former Roblox player,I’ve encountered a horrible situation on this platform. There’s a lot of drama and the games are becoming corrupt. It’s crazy how there are little kids still playing this game and under attack by predators out there.
The first time I opened Roblox was 2009. I noticed the platform started going downhill in 2015 but I didn't really pay attention to it, even when it was fail after fail I still tried to remain positive for this site. The breaking point for me was 2022 when Roblox decided to purge the entire audio library over a small case that they have won before. That audio library was like a whole time capsule. So many audios that dated as far back as the start of the platform, and they decide to just axe it because they didn't want to spend a few thousand to win the case again. Sadly enough is this company will not be falling any time soon. Unless the law itself steps in or parents worldwide get together to boycott Roblox, then nothing is going to change.
It’s was amazing to see the game flourish since I first joined back in 2007 but knowing their shady practices really sheds a different light on them. Especially since I spent countless hours of my childhood playing on this platform. I’m not sure where it’s at anymore
i’ve been playing since 2011/2012 and it’s just unrecognizable. the game used to mean so much to me, and the old games had more soul and feel to them. all the old games are now either broken, dead, or constantly get hacked. the last good year was probably either 2014 or 2015. after that it just went downhill. i only play it sometimes now. i’m 19 and i just play with my younger siblings every once in a while but it just pisses me off. if the game was like how it was in 2011-2015 right now, and stayed that way, i would still be an active player as an adult. it’s just sad really how the game turned out to be.
My daughter is similar aged, roblox and minecraft were a very huge part of her childhood and though she re visits them she says it's not the same. You're experiencing nostalgia and it's a powerful thing but it'll always be there in your life year after year, cherish it
nostalgia glasses. I'm 35 and been messing with it with my nephew's to keep an eye on their online activity for the better part of a decade and honestly the game hasn't really changed much other than the ridiculous monetization and increased number of experiences
Been playing Roblox since 2011 as well, and I gotta disagree with you. I'm 17 and over time games for sure have only improved. As developers get more experience, and Roblox's engine continues to improve, it can only go up from here. If you look at something like Deepwoken, a lot of passion went into the game and if you're a fan of soulslike games or difficult games in general, you should check it out. Another game I'm excited for on Roblox is Arcane Odyssey, the sequel to Arcane Adventures which was a pretty popular game from 2015. If you look in the right places then you'll be able to find high quality games on the platform that have a lot of love put into them.
As someone who's played Roblox since early 2009, its a shame to see how corporate like Roblox has became ever since it skyrocketed in popularity. The game was entirely different then it was 10 years ago. Wish I could relive that experience again.
Used to have soul. Used to be fun. Nowadays you struggle to find something with even a bit of soul, or just something you can sit down and have *fun* with. You can still have that fun on Roblox, it’s just a worse website than the great thing that preceded it.
as a developer, I am very aware of these problems. Ruben Sim, a fellow creator (also on TH-cam) has been in these problems first hand. It’s is truly awful how the Moderation and leadership of Roblox exploit and abuse their power, going after people who dare speak out against them.
You've succeeded where other content creators haven't.I may not use or have even heard of some of the subjects you've covered, but I still watch the videos due to how great the content is.Other creators are more interested if their fans see their faces on camera when it's 100% unnecessary all the while having a monotone voice over that doesn't sound enthusiastic.it's dry content when they're not interested in the subject they're presenting which makes for a boring watch. All the great content being put out from you on a pretty regular basis is excellent.Keep 'em coming!
He's good but can definitely improve. Most of his videos are based around the same ideas, just with different companies. He needs to expand, instead of circling around "dopamine rush", "monopoly", "losing masculinity", or "censorship/ties with China". It seems like most companies are the most evil business in the world😕
I think the best channel with this kind of content is ColdFusion. Their videos arent as long and aren't uploaded as often, but are always high quality, unbiased and cover many different topics
I grew up with Roblox from around the age of 7. I began playing around 2012, and over the 10 years I've played, Roblox has changed for the worse. Gone is the gleeful whimsy you felt hopping on SFoTH or other games, it just doesn't feel that fun anymore. This video has really shined a lot on how Roblox's greed has overtaken their morality. Roblox can still be fun with friends, but I wish there was a competitor with better moral standards. I don't want to support a company like this, and if the rumors of removing R6 are true, I'll be gone by the end of the year. Roblox, why?
I think its the lack of quality experiences that are dooming roblox, if the developers aren't trying to make good games then those games won't exist on top of that most top roblox games are just simulators to bad anime games that make it hard to find the actual decent games
I love you videos Moon, I watch all of them actually. However, not everything can be the "most evil business in the world" lol. Your best videos are the more psychological ones, such as why men like fight club. They're more unique then mini documentaries on bad companies. I love both, just saying.
roblox and "The Most Evil Business In The World" don't go together that well. roblox is terrible, but at least they aren't responsible for the exploitation of children just to make electronics, or part of an industry that massively contributes to global carbon emissions, or anything else that negatively impacts way more people than even the worst of the worst to come out of roblox does.
The game itself isn't bad at all, it's just the company crashing in and ruining everything associated with it If your gonna start boycotting, try boycotting the robux first
My 10 year old son has an unhealthy obsession with this platform. He always wants Robux and it seems equal to just burning money. I had no idea this existed until he stopped playing Minecraft 2 years ago and jumped on this bandwagon. This beyond exploitative and nefarious. Thank you for exposing this nonsense for what it is: brainwashing manipulation.
As much as youre right about most things on roblox, i dont know anyone, with robux or without, that honestly thinks they can make money off speculating with collectibles. What really happens is that traders put "send me higher value trades" in their profile and just expect people to offer them a combination of hats for a lower combination of their hats, effectively increasing their capital for free ad infinum. Nobody aint got time to actually wait for the price of items to climb. Thats mainly reserved for people that stop playing roblox for a couple years and come back to see some of their collectibles have increased several times in value. So while yes, technically gambling, technically stock markets, you are a bit overestimating the average attention span of kids and thusly their willingness to actually participate in such systems to such a degree. They want instant gratification, and that doesnt come in any other form than being offered higher value items for the ones you already posess.
He also fails to mention the fact the only way to exchange robux for money is by having players spend money in your experiences(or clothes), meaning you can not exchange the collectables for actual money and thus the actual value doesn't equate to the set price. This fact is apparently not known to a majority of people/players and the multitude of Roblox "expose videos" framing the collectables this way for a cheap point is not helping.
can’t wait to explain to my grandkids why there’s so many specific laws about in game money. honestly it’s quite fascinating, knowing that the government has to _eventually_ do something about it, so i’m basically watching history unfold. really obscure history, mind you, but still interesting
As a former Roblox player, and developer, I fully agree with this video. I do graphic design commissions for other developers’ game thumbnails on the platform for USD, but that’s only made possible by Discord, not Roblox. Roblox is extremely corrupt, and it pains me to watch them go down this way, seeing as they were a large part of my childhood.

Not a big fan of moon, it’s great that he’s showing a dark side to many companies which are usually more hidden but his personal bias and forcing narratives in videos ruins his credibility for me. Like dude has great video concepts and great talking points but then he just shits all over it with the absurd comparisons and often near agenda pushing attitudes.
Oi Moon, if you ever want to do a follow-up, you should talk about Ruben Sim. Ruben Sim was a Roblox TH-camr who was sued by Roblox for $1.6 Million. His videos were mostly critiques of the Roblox platform and the people within it. It's a real interesting story, you should cover it.
As a person who played roblox for 8 years and got hacked 2 mounts ago this seem relatable. Roblox also denies (most) rollbacks like my limiters were gone and after telling roblox support with evidence they denied it twice. They pretty much left the community to rot like it was nothing
Bit of a correction: Robux cannot really be converted to currency. The only way you can convert Robux to money is by using the robux you've earned from your game. Other robux cannot be converted, it won't let you. DevEx is only for game revenue, and you have to apply for it and be atleast 13+.
@@lettuce5658 This varies in countries, for example in the UK you need to be 16 because you need a certificate like thing called the national insurance number to earn money from roblox

The censorship in that game is insane. You could type stuff like Virus and China separately but if you ever put China and Virus in the same string arranged in any kind of way with any other characters the whole thing is censored
Some guy threatened me with violence, because I said I believe in vaccines, and when I tried to say that I didn’t like his opinion, it was censored entirely.
You do make some good points but as a person who has been playing Roblox for almost 4 years I can safely say that majority of the modern players can't even afford the amount of robux to even buy a limited plus they would also have to buy premium to even trade it
exactly, this guy keeps on creating the shock factor of child labor and kids gambling when the former doesnt happen at all because kids arent that capable of creating games that match with the front page of games made by groups of late teenagers/early adults and the latter having kids to ask their mom to buy robux for them and not actually having access of an insane amount of money in their own savings
i have too agree with you. roblox also released the most stupid dumb disgraceful and pointless update that nobody asked for or even cared about they replaced the best main avatar with a ugly ubombination and replaced the good faces with the other so called "dinamic heads" what was even the point of that? and the worst part is that people hated the update but guess what roblox responded to the drama BUT NEVER EVEN CARED THAT PEOPLE HATED THE UPDATE THAT IS JUST SO STUPID roblox is the worst app ever and the only reason i still play it is for the good and old games AND THE GOOD AND OLD ONES ONLY also i would not have really cared if roblox shut down
I hate the dynamic heads update so much. Shit, I would had been completely fine with it if it didn't mean for them to take almost ALL the classic faces off the market. It's so sad, roblox isn't even willing to listen to their own community.
It's sad to see David butcher his friends' vision so thoroughly. Hell, Eriks death was probably the catalyst of his company's death march towards villainy. As if with him gone, David and the other executives would be free to monetize the game however they saw fit, and that's what they've been doing. Onwards the giant goes, uncaring of pitfalls for he is too big fall in them, yet he forgets; he can still trip over them.
I refuse to believe anything the roblox does can be legal its crazy, I doubt that roblox will even exist in the future with these practices and the fact they barely listen to the community shows it's about the money and impressing investors.
It's always been about the money and profit ever since the corporation was even made, and that's not a bad thing, it's just called "trying to keep our servers running so we don't fucking die".
@@vi5bs True true, I agree with the first part of your statement, but the part where you say "Stop harvesting profits that go directly into the higher up's pockets" isn't all that agreeable, at least in my eyes. You see, Roblox doesn't make many profits, and to add to that, most of the profits are used to keep the servers up and running. Roblox can't really "upgrade" the performance of their servers and invest a considerable amount of money into it because of the lack of funds that Roblox has.
@@Exu1qnsis Roblox doesn't have the amount of money that you're thinking of. Just because Roblox is a $40b corporation, doesn't mean they have $40b to use on their servers (or even have that much money). You see, let me show you an example, If I offer to buy 0.000001% of your house for $1. You're now rich... But obviously, no one else will do that. Your paper rich. Yes, your house is technically worth $100m, based off a 1-dollar transaction. That's how the stock market valuation works, and in with that, that shows how market cap doesn't equal wealth. Roblox is only WORTH $40b in assets, doesn't mean they actually have that much money.
This is amazingly in depth for a 20 minute video. I have been playing roblox since 2009, now in my 20s, and all the videos I watch attempting to cover roblox's history are always pretty on the surface, or only about the recent era of the platform. I always called Roblox kid capitalism and this video perfectly encapsulates what I mean.
While no one can defend abusive and dishonest business practices, it leads one to imagine how much less of this there would be in an economy and environment where actual competition existed from small businesses, and big corporations were prohibited by law from direct lobbying.
I've been playing Roblox since 2016, and looking back, those were better times. After watching the videos by People Make Games and this video, I feel so pissed that in total over the years I've bought thousands of Robux. Seeing the game decline like this (especially the pettiness at not buying the oof sound for 10k) is so saddening and I hope they fix up their ways. Until they do, goodbye Roblox. It's been fun.
as a roblox player who has been playing for 7 years now, i fully agree w/ you. if you showed 2015-2017 me what roblox is like now, i wouldnt even believe it. it used to be such a great game and roblox actually cared about the player's experiences, but now its just some money-hungry platforn that doesnt give a shit about the players. theyre honestly just asking to get players to quit.

As a Roblox user since 2014, and a developer since 2015, I am deeply disappointed of what Roblox has become. When I first played it back then, it was awesome, it had tons of stuff, most notable being TIX, Forums, Sounds, lifetime membership option and the original OOF sound too. All of that mentioned here has been either restricted, replaced, or removed completely, which is very sad to see. What we have now? Censorship? Longer pending Robux? Gonna be honest, as a rolbox player, this company is my favorite example of "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." This company used to be great! Listening to their community, doing cool stuff for it, Hell, back then even the events back then were great! But now, They are just a Husk of their former self, forgetting the community exists, Doing absolute GARBAGE decisions for a quick buck, and even making horrible events for the sake of sponsorships. So I am a big fan of your channel, and this was a good video, I have a few critics. All of the employee abuse doesn’t happen on the Roblox site. They mostly happen on Discord. How is Roblox supposed to control what happens on a site that they don’t own? Great video though.
I have been playing ROBLOX since 2014. As a long time user, I can say that some of these problems are less extreme than they seem to be. Condo games are usually only accessed through Discord servers; they won't show up on the platform's recommendations. The limited feature is closer to stock markets than gambling, unless you consider stock markets gambling. It's hard to moderate thousands of games created every day, even with a multi-billion dollar company. (i just dont want roblox shut down because i play it daily)
Shh... didn't you hear? its the MOST EVIL company in the world. Oh? These problems arent all as big as I make them seem to be? Don't worry about that! They're evil. The kids are definitely suffering just as much as those working in unsanitary car factories, working tirelessly for their families for days on end. Being paid in scrip so that there's no hope of escaping this system. They'll surely look back and think about how their childhood was TAKEN AWAY. In all seriousness, roblox does have many problems. I just think some of them are massively blown out of proportion, you know, for the clicks.
stock market IS gambling, you cant say "unless you consider stock market gambling" when it literally is. Real stock markets done by the professionals can most likely turn a profit, but normal people are gambling. Roblox's stock market is completely bullshit, that's why it is gambling.
Absolutely concise and well edited. Will try to spread this as much as possible to raise at least some more awareness for this disgusting shit going on. Lawmakers really have to wake up and get out of the past, see what is going on online right under their noses.
I joined ROBLOX in 2018-which happened to be the time that all these changes unfortunately began to happen. It was around that time where the "OLD ROBLOX" everyone fondly remembers disappeared. They began to look for ways to appeal to investors and create their own metaverse, sacrificing as much as they had to so they could be just another one of the big companies. They took away events that brought the whole community together like EggHunts and Bloxy Awards, their moderation worsened, and they became distanced from their community. It would take a miracle to make ROBLOX go back from a get rich quick scheme for those involved to a fun game for all ages, where you can live out your wildest fantasies and even create them, for completely free.
When are you going to do a video on EA? They are the TRUE most evil company in the world. I believe they have “won” the title of worst company in the world for a few years in a row now and for good reason.
I honestly don't think any video game company can be considered the most evil company in the world when we have pharmaceutical companies price gouging life-saving medical supplies like EpiPen. EDIT: And don't even get me started on private hospitals and their dubious pricing practices.
As a dev on roblox it is understandable that roblox takes a cut of the revenue we make because they maintain and provide servers which is a huge business expense not many small business do not want to take in starting out.
This video made me think a lot about Roblox since I play it literally everyday.Roblox literally has a lack of freedom of speech, and overall just makes it harder to earn actual money off the game. There are points that I genuinely side with Roblox on like gambling, collectibles and all that stuff.I believe people should spend THEIR money whenever they want since it helps creates wealth.Yet again,Roblox should still have some moderation with physically abusive acts and threats with that.If Roblox doesn't cares about the user's wants, then they would lose profit when players know about things that Roblox is doing bad.I despise the marketplace tax since it makes it harder for people to earn money off the platform. Some of these things Roblox did primarily aren't their fault but went along with them anyway.Roblox players are entitled to keep the fruits of their own labor in order to spark competitiveness in the markets.BASICALLY WHAT IM SAYING IS ROBLOX NEEDS TO BE VERY FREE BUT NOT TOTAL INTERNET ANARCHY.
Everything they pointed out can be explained. worst part is Roblox has such a huge amount of TH-camrs playing it and games that it’s really hard to quit, even Roblox isn’t even making the games most of the games on Roblox are really entertaining, especially to young children who don’t know what steam is
Its sad to see a game most of us liked when we were younger becoming like that , I used to play roblox before but its just not fun anymore they are making publicity for other brands and showing it in our faces. Roblox is dying and its their fault
I mean, Roblox needs the money in order for its servers to keep running, or else the entire game wouldn't even exist. Roblox is a corporation (obviously), and all corporations highly value money, and so whether you like it or not, it's not Roblox being evil, it's just Roblox trying to fucking survive.
I've been playing Roblox for a bit over a decade now, and let me tell you, EVERYTHING you said is correct, It used to be so golden, or, maybe it wasn't? You don't notice problems when you're a kid, You just have fun. Hell, this is probably just wishful thinking. This platform has way too many problems to count and has had an unimaginable amount of controversies and problems. Even back then It had some problems, just not as bad as this, at least, I think. Many people, Including myself, really miss the older days of Roblox, it had it's own "culture" in a way. A very stupid "kids on the old internet" kind of way, but one people remember fondly. As such, It's like nostalgia is blinding us from remembering if it had any problems as bad as this, and if they did, what they were, or if they were the same. That nostalgia... That notalgia is the reason Many people tried _(and succeeded)_ to make Recreations or Revivals, Hell, People STILL try to this day and do their own take on bringing back old roblox in some way. That's why you hear a lot of people talk about Old Roblox so fondly. As such, myself and like-minded people have been really unhappy with the way Roblox has gone and what they've done and haven't, You don't even gotta be an Old Roblox Player to not like this Company and it's bullshit. So, a good amount of old and new players alike have tried really hard to quit. But, you can't. You just can't. There's definetly some people who have quit, But I'd say its Nigh-Impossible. If you join, you'll probably like Roblox. If you do, You're _(most likely)_ stuck. It feels like it's impossible to let go of it, almost as if its an addiction. If you have a weak will, Then you WILL fail to quit, You'll always be drawn back to it. I really, REALLY appreciate you for bringing light to these issues to a wider audience, Sure, we've had Roblox centered channels cover them, but if someone who ISN'T Primarily Roblox, a bigger audience will hear. Please don't stop what you do, Your videos are great. [ *EDIT* ] For the People in the Replies: Thank you for sharing your stories. It gives me motivaton to follow in your footsteps ad try my hardest, I hope, one day, I can follow in your footsteps and successfully quit.
The addictiveness of the game was overwhelming for me back in 2018. I had an addiction with this platform back then. It was when one of my siblings deleted my apps for revenge after I deleted theirs from MY phone. I had no additional information in my account (no email verified either). I was trying to fight my addiction but it was difficult. I had to create my account to restart where I was from until I reached my progress. Now for the 2021, this was when I quitted during the 3 day shutdown in roblox. That shutdown helped me win my addiction over roblox. I feel like I was free from that game. That game sure is addictive if you say so. I'm not stuck with that anymore.
@@limitedperson wow! Sounds heavy bro.. quite scary for someone that young..I cant imagine having my addictions (im free now) happening so young. I'd be dead for sure. .glad you saw it early enough. ;)
I used to feel that way about tiktok, like I could never quit. Then one day I just deleted it off my phone and said “never again”. Within a few days all cravings to redownload the app were completely gone, and my sanity is saved. You CAN stop playing if you want to, and you WILL be better off without the hyper-addictive, manipulative app literally changing your neural pathways for the worse. Quitting can help with mood swings, attention, and productivity levels. Not to mention you will feel better as a person for no longer supporting evil corporations. You can do it!!!
@@darianstarfrog I was a teenager when all of this had happened. I used to spend in nearness to $1,000 but I don't do that anymore. I'm kind of proud of myself for stopping. One problem... one of my siblings desperately wants me back into the platform one time when I vowed to not touch the platform again.
I played this game 10 years ago when I was a kid. I loved the game for its simplicity, endless fun, and ofcourse, waking up every morning to collect my 10 free tix. My younger brother started playing it and I decided to give it a go so I can play with him. Roblox has developed a very sinister corporate vibe. Everything feels so artificially engineered to squeeze as much robux (Real Money) out of you. Almost every game (and EVERY trending game) has robux implemented in some way to try and scrape as much money out of you as possible. These feautures usually provide you with pay to win elements, skins or unlocking certain areas/events/props etc. They also got rid of the free tix, which means you cant farm up robux for free anymore.
There is some reasoning to those tough. Developers put so many gamepasses because they get underpaid by roblox. And you can just bot your game to get as much tix as possible
While I do agree that Roblox has done and is doing messed up shit and are pretty awful when it comes to morally sound decisions, you can’t blame Roblox for a lack of parenting. If kids are falling into scams, gambling, buying too much online currency, etc. there needs to be a percent of accountability on the parents end. Because while Roblox may be attempting to trick kids, it’s the parents fault for not teaching the children to know better.
But when you think about it,roblox is taking advantage of these kids that waste money on a game currency that you cant even do anything with in the real world, much like nft's.This is just my opinion and im not trying to start arguments💖❤
I miss the old roblox. Back then, it was so much fun and I would get so excited when I could use a PC to play roblox. They've been on such a downfall, it was like they cared back then. But they do nothing for their community now. All these updates are mostly unwanted. A Multi-Billion dollar company can't work on their security or moderation. It's been such a mess lately
Here's a couple things Moon got wrong 1. Roblox isn't just marketed towards children. Roblox is a platform for kids, teens, and adults. 2. You cannot sell your collectable items on roblox then use the robux obtained from the items to get real money. You can only cash out robux obtained through game development or clothing sales. 3. You do not need $100,000 robux to trade robux for real money. You only need $50,000 which is pretty reasonable in my opinion. If your game never ends up making $50k robux then practically no one is playing it or you haven't monetized it well. 4. The exchange rates on black market sites for robux are not better than roblox's rates. They're actually about equal. If not, roblox's rates are higher. 5. The roblox black market is a lot like csgo's third party market. There are trusted sites that make a lot more money by not scamming their user base. Of course there are scams. Scams are present in every popular video game. Use common sense and you won't get scammed 6. I know there are a lot of naive children on roblox that get scammed. Roblox has implemented a rollback system where they give back the robux/limiteds lost after a roblox user gets hacked. They only do it once. If you get hacked a second time they won't help you. 7. You need the FIRST EMAIL linked to your account for roblox support to help you. It doesn't matter if the hacker changed the email to his. The kid needed the first email he linked to the account when he created it. If he lost that email it's his fault. It's the only way roblox can prove they're talking to the real account owner. 8. Roblox advertisements were never a good way for developers to get their games popular. Usually game popularity is gained through word of mouth and roblox influencers playing the games on their channel. You shouldn't run ads for your game until you have a solid player base 9. No child is overworked on roblox. Kids do not know enough about game development to create good games that people would want to play. Most good developers are at least 18. You'd need the same skills and math required to make games in unreal engine or unity for roblox. There's probably more you got, but I can't be bothered to type anymore
He also forgot to mention the previous existence of Tix in Roblox. Which was a dual currency alongside Robux that players can gradually earn for free by simply being active at least once per day on their site, which is a basic smart tactic to maintain player activity. Though they later removed Tix entirely likely because it wasn't profitable and didn't really compensate people who had been saving them up to purchase in-game items.
i love how roblox moderators even write to you sent this email from ur acc to add an email and when someone hacks ur acc and ask them if they can give ur acc back they be like "sorry but we cant proof that this is your account💀"
As a Roblox player I agree with most of the information shown in this video, however from my past experiences I can tell Roblox themself won't do anything about it. Unfortunately.
Started playing in 2011, the landscape has changed immensely, and while its honestly impressive the things you can do in the engine, even at a younger age, the financial landscape always made me uncomfortable, even when i was just a stupid kid. I swore to not buy any robux the day they removed Tix.
@@ROUGHSEES it will never stop there. Of corporations are making money, why would they stop trying to make even more? It’s greed. Greed has no boundaries.

As a Roblox player who has joined Roblox since 2016, I agreed with this. Roblox was such a nice and friendly place with a good community. I barely found any toxic and cringy players at that time (except for one time I met a player who trashtalks about my country). Everyone was so friendly and I really enjoyed the game overall. At that time, many of my friends also played Roblox and we used to play together a lot. But now, what has Roblox become? It was such a nice place and now it's just a meme. They sued Ruben Sim for speaking facts and things he hadn't done at all, their moderation is a joke, the community has become so toxic to the point that most of my friends quit Roblox because of they can't handle it (they also just got bored with the game overall). I know that besides that, they also have improved the graphics and performances by a bunch. Roblox has become very popular to the world, but it also came as a price of Roblox becoming more greedy and doesn't care about it's community much. It's actually kinda sad to see that Roblox is actually becoming worse and worse. But I will still stay here and waiting for the changes.
Alright I’m subbing, I love informative channels like this that tackle “popular” stuff that isn’t great for society. You have a great voice and your so good with how you explain things I’m not confused at all. Great video!
This video exist after the infamous "Oof" sound removed due to "copyrighted" problems and they couldn't pay for it but instead replaced with a sound that is fitting to what Roblox described from this video
The fact that they did this for YEARS and are still not banned or something is truly terrible! I’m SO GLAD people started to realize what’s going on with ROBLOX and are exposing them.
I remember joining roblox in 2013 back when most of the games were build to survive games. The item shop was still there and I was never tempted to buy anything as I was always taught the value of money and items back then were worthless to me since I couldn't even equip them in most games. To see all these kids growing up with no concept of currency is frightening. We are making a whole generation of gambling addicts that don't know what they're doing is going to end up destroying their lives.
Being an old player of this game between 2009 and 2012, it is extremely sad to see the game decline like this. Sure, the games itself have improved but I actually _liked_ the old charm the game had back in 2009. The games were simpler, more fun to play and if you didn't choose to buy anything you still had a shot via things you could buy via Tix (yeah, remember those?). The game today looks like a hollow shell from what it once was and it saddens me. Compare it to a game like Habbo Hotel and they have declined in quality a lot more than Habbo Hotel has, which is still fairly decent today.
Thank you for making this video Moon. As someone who has played Roblox nearly since it's inception, it's sad to see what the platform has become, yet it needs to be said.
As a long time and active Roblox player I am in shock that these problems are still on the platform. Thank you Moon for putting more information public about this.

The paradigm of storytelling is deeply embedded in the way we communicate. It's how we passed down information from generation to generation--stories. Examples, explanations, and lessons all packaged as characters acting things out. We're evolved to tell and be told stories.

So at least you admit your bias

@@BartholomewTheIII Yeah, in terms of popularity and player growth, Roblox is doing just fine.

Thank you for sharing your stories.

They also got rid of the free tix, which means you cant farm up robux for free anymore.
good point. When roblox remove tix, it would go downhill.
There is some reasoning to those tough.
Developers put so many gamepasses because they get underpaid by roblox. And you can just bot your game to get as much tix as possible
@@dragonifyamazing2721 people abused tix though
Here's a couple things Moon got wrong
Use common sense and you won't get scammed
You shouldn't run ads for your game until you have a solid player base
9. No child is overworked on roblox. Kids do not know enough about game development to create good games that people would want to play. Most good developers are at least 18. You'd need the same skills and math required to make games in unreal engine or unity for roblox.
There's probably more you got, but I can't be bothered to type anymore
Talk about moon, he gets things wrong in other vid god

This. The miss-information and inaccuracies in this video makes it cringe to watch
It's easier to be noticed when you talk negatively about others rather than talking positively about them.
Erik had nothing to do with it. Rest In Peace to him. I think these practices really started in 2016
i love how roblox moderators even write to you sent this email from ur acc to add an email and when someone hacks ur acc and ask them if they can give ur acc back they be like "sorry but we cant proof that this is your account💀"
