2 exceptional videos that report clear problems that we face with non-regulated platforms. Have you directed these videos and/ or the research you've done with European Union Agency For Fundamental Rights or U. S. Department of Health & Human Services?
I have no interest in roblox however, it is honestly absurd that how out of touch this shite, And thus this particularly gruesome lie. Thank for another quality content
Great video! I would also like to add that it's really really easy to hack into Roblox's accounts and you can find HUGE lists of hacked Roblox accounts on the internet, now imagine having a credit card attached into a hacked profile
Roblox: Gets asked genuine questions with concern toward the minors using their platform. Also roblox: “we aren’t answering your questions because they’re mean”
I'm not defending Roblox here, but it's very naive to think they'd answer direct, incriminating questions like these right of the bat. It's even more naive to think they don't know that all of this is going on and are not obvious in their attempts to swipe the whole thing under the rug. This is pure gaslighting.
The Hungarian Government is the same. It's constantly criticizing and attacking independent press, while censoring whatever it can. It censors media of LGBT rights, abortion rights, ethnic rights, women's rights (domestic abuse). It recently branded a movie about an adult woman coming out to her family as lesbian as she wanted to invite them to her wedding as "unfit for public consumption" (Jenny's Wedding).
I love how People Makes Games doubles down instead of buckling when they are pressured by the groups they are investigating. Same with the Athene video, truly fantastic journalism.
@@Daftanemone They're different genres. This is more like reporting, while noclip documentaries are just that: documentaries. It's a common fallacy to think of documentaries as objective truth, while the main goal is most often entertainment (or edutainment). And at that they're very good imo

Valve, as a privately owned company, has received immense backlash for the community markets in TF2 and CSGO encouraging gambling. TF2 and CSGO being games rated for and marketed towards adults exclusively. Meanwhile Roblox has an entire laissez-faire economy run by children and is also traded publicly on the NYSE.
I traded in the TF2 Community, it wasnt too bad, I left at around 2020, I maybe made 10k USD, but I lost a lot due to the vast scams and unfortunate mistakes, but overall ive learned these E-Markets(within games) get hellbent on extorting you for your money, It was a very sour taste left in my mouth after playing that game since 2012. RIPtf2
In belgium we have a law about (random) lootboxes. They have to show the content before we buy them. I play a lot of dota 2 and i already know which item i'll receive from a collection before i buy it. Which is cool, but it also goes to show how far Valve and other companies have to go to abide the law. While this madness in roblox goes on. Damn i'm glad i never invested time into this game
a message to all children: If a company or school offers to sell your product, game, or idea that YOU created. Don't do it, wait until your an adult to fully expand that idea and then decide what you want to do with that.
The best way to understand why is to understand somebody's pov or a more common phrase being "Stepping in someone else's shoes" Imagine being a child trying to earn robux to convert into money to buy candy from the store or something but getting minimal pay... One time a teacher at my school saw a drawing frm my sketchbook and asked to take a picture. I agreed but was shocked a few weeks later to see the drawing had been posted to their instagram account with a caption claiming they encouraged my creatvity and generally took credit for my art chops. Obviously there was no money involved but it was still really upsetting to me they had done this without my permission and taken credit for it.
Update - As of August 2023 Doc has been arrested by the FBI and sentenced to 15 years in federal prison plus an additional 20 years of probation and to pay $10,000 in restitution. SEO was taken down after Sega demanded it's removal from Roblox for copyright infringement.
I dig a bit to see the details. Seemed like a harsh sentence for what amounted to ‘sexting’, compared to what actual rapists get. But no, there was a whole lot more he did after ‘Sarah’ that was worse, much worse. That ‘apology’ letter was just the usual lame cya. He didn’t change, he just upped the ante on his methods. Thankfully his victim was rescued but not before being kept captive for days. He’s a real sick dude. Sarah (not the kidnap victim) was extremely lucky to get away from him with ‘only’ his creepy text chats to scar her.

I love how the article talks about how Steam charges $100 for indie developers to out their game on their website. Like yeah, that's how businesses work. They also have a licence fee for using Source engine for games you're planning on selling. The difference being that is that you need to be an 18+ year old person to agree to their terms, and you actually get the majority cut of sales. As opposed to Roblox which takes most of the cut from actual children.
Actually no, atleast in poland you don't need to be 18 to sign that document, you need to have a tax identifcation number and a bank account though, but you can get those under 18. Also steam provides decent networking in that price, acces to events such as steam next fest which are quite helpfully for a small indie dev, i think the 100 usd is a pretty decent price Source: i am 16 and have a game on steam in my name
How much is server hosting though? And moderation, and actually getting your game noticed by players. There's a lot of good that roblox does that just isn't mentioned anywherr
I really hope that this is NOT the last video you do on this. No matter how depressing, the world NEEDS to know what is being done to children, we need to get back on track as a society and stop the never-ending pursuit of profits
but not by attacking companies as if they created this society of unsupervised kids with strangers having access to them. roblox already censors harder than the average police state like britain, cant expect anything more.
How the F did a company like Valve almost get shafted for the whole skin gambling thing, but Roblox, a company focused on Kid friendly content, can enable this without any kind of investigation???
my super super happy face which i bought for around 50 bucks a couple of years ago skyrocketed and is now valued at around $1000 was stolen and when i contacted roblox they just said they can't do anything about it, i don't really care about the money but it has a personal value and they just brushed it off :/

Coming back to say another comment: several journalist/news sites have reported on this, but none are big enough to draw attention to it. This video is nearing 2M+ views, and that's a good thing. The more awareness brought to the company's corruption the better. What I fear is Roblox targeting the channel or video with a strike or even a lawsuit at worst. its not illegal, its just very immoral. as long as the child labour and harassment doesn't happen through Roblox's platform and all the deals are made in shady board-room type 3rd party chats the roblox corporation can't and won't be held responsible for what happens. It's like the Rittenhouse case, obviously we're seeing a violation and a situation that shouldn't occur yet everything awful that happens if perfectly defensible in court which is all that matters in terms of corporate accountability.

As a minor, when I was around 12 to 13 I took part in a team of amateur developers. I joined a game on the roblox platform where people could advertise their games, groups, virtual clothing, etc. I found someone, probably within a few years of my age who wanted to make a game. I offered my services as an animator and 3d modeler, and they invited me to their discord. I and one other random child worked under a minor with no experience in this whatsoever. I had some experience with 3d modeling, and while it wasn't professional quality it was decent. I did this as a hobby and for fun, not anything serious. I did all of the modeling/animating on roblox studio. Basically, I and this other person, a scripter, would work on the game based on what the actual owner of the game told us to do, with the promise of a fraction of the revenue the game generated. A lot of mistakes on my part. I did not know anything about the background of the person who I was working under, he did not give me a solid percentage, and he was very loose when telling us what to do. After doing a lot of work on the game, it was almost ready to be released. I was excited because I had spent a lot of time working on it after school. The person I was working under, with no notice, banned me and the other person from the discord, blocked us on roblox, removed our permissions from the game and posted it, after removing the credits to us. We had made little statues of ourselves labeled scripter and modeler, and he deleted them. The game was a flop anyways, but I was upset. Edit: I don't recall the exact name but it was like clicking legends, tapping simulator, or something like that.
What a thoughtful and nice idea to make statues of yourselves in the game and how cruel someone take everything away from you without a second thought…
As you should be, you should be furious, your hard work and time went into that just for it to be stolen. Don't contact Roblox about the developer of that Sonic game. Contact SEGA/Nintendo, or whoever owns the Sonic copyright, and see them make Roblox kneel with a cease and desist letter. Lawsuits are what companies truly fear, especially lawsuits from other companies.
Roblox kneels down to the company until they turn a blind eye and roblox just keeps the new copyright infringing material up. Look at pokemon games on roblox and they are thriving, roblox takes one down every once in a blue moon, to be like "we don't support this" while they just want profit. If any company ever tries to take on roblox, keep an eye on them, and if you are nintendo, get on them because they are actively supporting copyright infringement when told to remove it
@@cherubin7th Nintendo only in the switch era started to agree with the mentality that lets plays increase sales for their games because of exposure. Capitalism is a disease, hypercapitalism, doubly so, and must be dismantled if we are to save our humanity, never mind our entire planet alone.
As a Roblox Developer myself, I have to say, your allegations towards ROBLOX are pretty spot on. They have horrible moderation, banning developers for often no reason at all. Their Dev-Ex Rates are very poor, and scamming is very common among developers. Many of the people I have done commissions for are often very inexperienced and shady.
I absolutely agree. Moderation > I recently had an ad taken down for "inappropriate content", despite not being inappropriate, they did not refund my Robux put into this ad. Banning devs for no reason > I had that two years ago, they wouldn't tell me why I was banned for 3 days and only told me I was correctly banned. Their Dev-Ex rates are poor > Yeah; from every $1000 people spend on my game, I get $700 in virtual currency which I can exchange for $245 (Minus $5 transaction fee makes $240) Scamming is common among developers > Two of our guys took 2 million robux and ran off together, great, Roblox wouldn't do anything about it. Support is not helpful. Many of the people are often very inexperienced and shady > As a scripter, I am constantly in charge of the UI because I can't find anyone who knows how to scale the UI correctly. In general, I am also afraid to do anything on my main account, from chatting to placing ads et cetera. They could falsely moderate my account at any time -also the reason much groups have "group holder" accounts for instance. Though Roblox has improved in the past two years, but still has some flaws. I wish the best for the future though, as I am still a loyal Roblox developer making some extra cash on the side through this platform.
Yeah, but the only thing that is on roblox is their moderation, which can easily be fixed if you contact support. As for dev ex rates, roblox has made no profit for the past few years.
“Jack’s learning unity now” wow that makes me feel so much better tbh. Imagine if all of these young devs devoted their time to the learning unity or unreal, a bit higher barrier to entry, but at the end of the day their not being exploited.
2 weeks ago I wanted to try out roblox development. Now I am skipping the "middle man" and going straight to unity. heck nah I am not going to be exploited by a child exploiting conglomerate thats bigger then Nintendo
That's what you'd hope for, right? For alot of the good developers to leave Roblox for a more flexible platform or engine? But other than the simplicity, Roblox's massive userbase is probably what keeps alot of the devs clinging to the site. Quick and easy players, the micro-transactions and all. I can't imagine how difficult it might be for an indie developer to get enough purchases without some magic luck the popular games and studios have...
I mean, large swathes of the game industry still aren't unionized, and people who end up working in it are often victims to very high turnover, workplace harassment, and terrible working conditions involving crunch, sleep deprivation, and borderline unlivable wages. But at least your boss won't be a 10-year-old if you work at Ubisoft or Activision-Blizzard lol
@@SLDimarco You missunderstand. The original comment uses irony to highlight the flaw of a fundamental assumption in capitalism: that disregulation in markets is a good thing. Spoilers: no it is not. When your defense of your account being banned for sexually harassing a 12 year old is that's not what you were even banned for, it becomes incredibly concerning what you were banned for.
So Roblox is using kids work for personal gain and all they provide is the basic premise and equipment. Along with providing minimal pay. Like a sweatshop?
I said it on the last video, I'll say it again. This is one of the only cases that I can think of where the line "oh won't somebody think of the children" is actually really appropriate, and not just a rhetorical fallacy. Parents and congresspeople *need* to get involved with this.
It's disgusting just how little action Roblox seems to take; they will preach that the platform is safe and a good one for kids when they don't actually care. Really wish it wouldn't be that way but with the direction they're going I don't think anyone will stop them.
It is true that parents and governments need to be involved, but like Quintin said, "it took me months to unpick how Roblox operates...what hope does parents and politicians have of understanding what their kids are doing on Roblox or with who? Or the many and varied ways the Roblox corporation is profiting from them." Even Roblox doesn't have a full enough understanding to explain to these officials, which is absurd.
@@com0001 Roblox simply does not want to take action. They are focused on profit maximization. So having MILLIONS of free workers kind of fit in their idea of profit maximization.
Finally there is a realistic and genuine source for a parental panic around gaming AND THEY AREN’T DOING IT. Violence in video games is an easy to understand issue for parents, labor exploitation, black markets, and child gambling? Not so much
Wel that’s mostly because it’s not happening right in front of there faces. If it ain’t gta flashing hooker tits in front of their faces and parents just see it as block game then they’ll turn a blind eye to child exploitation
growing up on roblox I knew a few people who were totally fine making inappropriate jokes even against my wishes. one of them was a little over a year older than me and another was an adult, I remember cutting ties with the adult a little bit before I got a discord, then later finding out that they sent people nsfw without consent and yet them still being in the discord server of the game they worked for. there were a few others who crossed boundaries over the years but after a while I drifted off of roblox and then away from my roblox friends. to be honest, roblox's marketing towards kids is part of the problem -- and the fact that they have a private message system built in is insane given it's marketed towards 10 year olds. If it was encouraged for all ages then more eyes would be everywhere like in minecraft and honestly if you're expecting a ton of 10 year olds on your platform I think maybe private messages should be discouraged.
Its a shame because there are some incredibly talented young developers in the community, and they’re being exploited pretty hardcore because of the lack of moderation and roblox’s loose safety protocols
The video's so hard to watch, but only because it's such a well-researched piece of journalism on a company so aggressively unethical. Incredible stuff. Instant subscription from me.
This is just sad. Im not surprised at this moment and i have stood up multiple times only to be struck down. I got a team of white hat hackers to look into this. I must let these voices be heard
I really love playing roblox but i am very mad at roblox for what they are doing. The roblox moderation is really bad. Like god damn abs went through roblox but the word “gay” is banned. I am so mad at them and i hope they make this a lot better.
Ill give an example of what this is like. Tower defense simulator in roblox has a tower called the “freezer” like 2 years ago this was such a good tower with its ability but now it was just slammed into the ground and never brought up again. Its sad to see how a god of a tower became the most worthless tower in the game. Just like roblox! They were so good from the start with amazing moderation but now its just the worst moderation ever and that improvement of moderation was never brought up again.
It's honestly impressive that Roblox has somehow managed to take every negative thing about game development and combine them all into one nice little package. When I started making Flash games in the mid-2000s, I struggled to get noticed and never made enough AdSense money to cash out, though Google certainly made a few bucks off of me. So Roblox has that nonsense covered, but also rolls in terrible moderation, harmful practices, awful support, an so much more. They're putting profit first, community be damned.
Then they have devs in their team having very inapropriate blogs and they sued ruben for mostly exposing their failures as a corperation for children but they quieted him from the site now he can't join roblox anymore as they can't take any bad feedback towards their child targeted platform.
@@TheZorch , here is the thing, though, like the Death Stars, the evil actions of the Luciferian globalist elite also have a weakness and their weakness is, ironically enough, also just happening to be their biggest strengths, as well as the reasons for why they exist, and they are money and all of its forms, as well as all of its related ilk, like banks, stocks, bonds, fees, and taxes in all of their forms, and I will explain why that this is the reality of things. The harsh reality is that all of these things exist simply because various members of the Luciferian globalist elite not only think of these scams, but that they also think that it is a good idea to enforce these scams. However, like an email/telephone scam ring operation, once you know how they work, they are also easy to take down, and the reason for that is simple, and it is that these things only have value so as long as the Luciferian globalist elite give them value, which is why the email/telephone scam ring operations flourish, that, and they also have various organizations that make the scams be protected, which is why Nigeria, Russia, India, and other nations have a plethora of them happening, and why the entire world is controlled by the Luciferian globalist elite. Now if you think that what I said is not true, then I can easily name several examples of that being put into practice, namely, the Weimar Republic Deutsche mark of the 1920s, the Great Depression, the Japanese yen of the 1980s, the dot-com boom of the 1990s, the dot-com bubble burst of the early 2000s, the Great Recession of the 2000s to present, the Zimbabwean dollar of the 2000s, and numerous economic recessions and depressions worldwide over the years. The bottom line is this, when you simply remove the people from power that are doing these things, as well as the organizations that help them exist, then you fix the problem, and if the people that run Roblox think that they are any different, well, when they face massive class action lawsuits, not just from the USA, but worldwide, AND when the people do not back down, well, it will be R.I.P. Roblox and massive prison terms for its executives, that is, IF said executives are fortunate, and it could essentially be death by real life mobs if the people that are angry enough at those evildoers.

I love how it says 'It's against our rules to tell people to go offsite' and then at the bottom of most popular games made by multiple people, it has a space to put social links to twitter, discord and youtube.
that isn't the problem, the problem is they do nothing about the problems offsite because they claim it's not their fault, when their own platform enables this because of their flawed currency.
The space to put social links is designed to show up for only kids ages 13 and older, when you actually *are* allowed to use those sites. It's not really beyond ROBLOX's control if you just sign up with an account aged 13+ if you're really 13>, unless if they add some sort of feature that verifies your age (e.g. posting a form of identity) but would probably lose out on profit.

The fact that a developer spent 200k robuxs on clothes instead of withdrawing it into real money shows that in game currencies make you forget their actual value.

So this is gathering a lot of views and I greatly appreciate that-- but please everyone, watch the first video. These are additional points to the main topic, which was established in the first episode.
Grooming on this platform is not an uncommon thing, unfortunately. As someone who first joined the platform over a decade ago when I was 12, and who has made many virtual friends through it, almost every young girl I befriended through my time on the platform experienced something similar to Sarah, in one way or another.

The vast majority of players won't experience anything like it. The only ones that will are those that participate in Roblox communities outside Roblox, for example Discord, or shady places in general. If you're just playing the game and having fun you're 100% safe. Due to chat filter there is no way you could get groomed on the platform itself. So, let your kid have fun and make nice memories.

What sucks about this video is you're here talking about it as if it's some shocking thing, and to most people it is! All of this is shocking to hear. But me, as a veteran player since 2012, I watched through this whole video and just said "Yeah, I know." This rabbit hole goes so much deeper and even with two videos you've still barely scratched the surface. Child abuse and predation is commonplace on dev teams, I personally know multiple people who got outed as predators, and even more that were affected by predators. Thank you for making this video. Let's hope more people learn about this and someone with enough power finally does something.
Definitely. I’ve been playing the game for a little more than half a decade and I wasn’t surprised by a single thing. It put in to perspective how many things i overlook just because I’m so used to it. Limits are essential to roblox and when he put it like that I realized how messed up it truly is.
I've been playing Roblox since 2010 & I think Roblox needs to do the complete opposite of what he proposed. Roblox needs to be a platform where people make up the content & community on it. This will expose people to what the real world is like. I've been scammed, cheated, hacked, & bullied countless times. I learned how to protect myself online, spot scams, I would even call myself immune to bullying. This isn't just Roblox, this is EVERY game. I remember playing Minecraft factions, people were being racist in game chat, people would scam & cheat each other constantly. You would have to vet people to avoid getting "insided" where someone joins you to backstab you. Gaming communities are toxic because *people are toxic*. Let children grow up in organic environments where they can have uncensored communications with other people. I find it funny that people in call of duty 3 times my age were bullying me at one point in time. Roblox needs to stop trying to be a walled garden & instead focus on creating a good platform for people to gather.
Wouldn't Child Labor laws come into play here as well? Really need to throw the book at them but with how egregious the Gaming Industry is as a whole in using manipulation and scummy practices towards the younger generations.
Since roblox is an international game, the laws get kinda jumbled together. It would make things ‘hard’ to follow every country’s different child laws. Basically they’re using excuses to keep making profit
@@cleosvoyage Actually, most countries have agreements to follow/enforce other countrys' laws (eg copywrite and patent etc) because failing to have those would bring a halt to trade in the same way that sending any valuable tech or design to China is a guarantee to have the design ripped off unless you have very direct control over the factory it goes to. So many companies take a profit hit to avoid the risk of having something made in China.
What you're doing here is very important and valuable. Please do not stop. Sometimes the the big thing we're meant to do in life isn't necessarily the one we signed up for. I've both followed PMG for a long time now and played Roblox since near it's inception. This rabbit hole is unfathomably deep with negligence, child abuse, exploitation, gambling, gaslighting and the works. Just a fraction of which you've already witnessed first hand. Out of Roblox's tens of millions of users there are millions of stories of inscrutable things, immoral things that have happened on this platform and have been allowed to happen for far too long. Using your platform as a launching point for this sort of journalism targeting this sort of company is truly something to commend. I cannot stress enough how meaningful it is that you've used your own personal voice and outreach to signal boost this issue, putting at risk your own livelihood and public image in a very much David and Goliath style situation. But I know you see with open eyes that if you, a decently successful TH-cam platform is David in the eyes of Roblox as Goliath, then the children are but mere ants beneath Roblox's feet. So many are voiceless, faceless, and unable to communicate not just trivial frustrations but true and significant issues that will go on to affect so many of them deeply and for the rest of their lives. If this must be your last video on Roblox, so be it. But please pass on the torch, please setup the foundations for the work you've done here to server as a larger platform for kids everywhere to tell their stories or get out just how bad and how deep the Roblox problem persists. Thank you so much for what you've done.

I've had an experience with an unregulated developer once however my friends on the team had it far worse than I did. I was a graphic designer and a friend of mine was starting a new project attempting to revive another game that died off awhile ago. The idea piqued my interest and it felt a bit nostalgic so I offered to help design the game's art. My other friends hopped on board and before I knew it, I've already designed the game's thumbnail, icon, and graphics for each reoccurring update. The game, despite all odds, was somewhat of a hit. It had influence on a few other platforms and we even started getting on the same level as big names. And then that's when the fame started getting into the owner's head. When it was finally time for the creator to pay his developers, he skimped on them. I receiving nothing, a close friend who was an animator received 1 robux, and the lead developers combined only got around $10 in robux. The team was infuriated, and when they exposed the owner to the public, he faded into obscurity with a lousy attempt of an "apology video" and running off with thousands of USD worth of robux. In his absence he started making impulsive purchases and shutting off communication with everyone. We all knew that he was already young, but his immature actions take the cake.

@@justinwayne445 1. This is a copout. 2. You can stop them by actively banning those using them. 3. There is a source in the video that made a lot of money trading limited items, which is essentially gambling. Roblox knows about the black markets, and does nothing to shut them down.
@@xeridea 1. What if I told you that you need to take responsibility for dying african children. Children this young don't have the emotional maturity or intellectual independence to actually be able to handle these situations and it's not fair that they're being put through things like this at such a young age. Yes, the adult world is full of exploitation but there's no reason they should be exposed to that exploitation first-hand at such a young age.
If little kids in China can make the clothes you’re probably wearing right now, then pampered Western children can handle getting some of their profits from their Roblox games taken away in exchange for all the dev tools, server hosting, and outreach Roblox provides.

The thing I’m confused about is this: how is this not considered child labor and affected by child labor laws? If part of their scheme is that you can make money doing something, that is labor, and therefor should be illegal, yes?
It should be! However, developers dont officially make "money" they make robux. (which they can then turn into money) Roblox has been able to get by with that distinction unfortunately. Also, everything on the internet is much more unregulated than you might imagine. copyright laws can strike pretty hard but unfortunately many law makers are not well-versed in the internet. whether that be from age or the sheer complexity of the issues it presents, laws are currently far behind the ever-evolving challenges the internet provides. We, regardless of country, all need to play catching up in the upcoming years in regards to internet safety.
Yes (mostly) but also no. Unfortunately, nothing is ever as simple as it seems. We don't consider it child labor when a kid runs a lemonade stand or car wash or mows lawns in the neighborhood. I'm sure the EULA has all kinds of language to excuse Roblox from any liability. But EULA's aren't bulletproof. Roblox will probably find themselves getting grilled by Congress at some point... but sadly Congress is toothless, so probably nothing will happen.
it's the pachinko loophole: They aren't dealing with "money" (even though roblox/pachinko balls can directly be translated to money value) so it does not evoke any labor/gambling laws respectively
@General Di Ravello There's nothing wrong with getting political sometimes, and don't let anyone tell you there is. That said, knowing about the modern world isn't the problem. They know plenty, they just don't give a shit because the status quo benefits them. That's exactly why we need people who aren't afraid to get political and create some change. For example, you could start a petition and distribute it all around the community. Form a committee to help draft it. Maybe even distribute fliers IRL, drop them in mailboxes, etc. It might not fix Roblox overnight, but it would send a strong signal to them if tons of their users signed something like that. If it makes enough noise to hurt their stock price, then you'll have their attention.
"Jack's learning Unity now" just made me laugh. Because that's what's going to end up happening if Roblox doesn't clean up their act. Every developer worth the time and money is going to wise up to their antics, and go make an actual game they can make money on with an actual game engine. I'm pretty sure you'd get better results reporting this stuff to the owners of the trademarks being used; I highly doubt Nintendo would like their property being used to make money off of little kids.
The thing is Roblox provides a very tempting resource: the "community". Really, I just mean the user base, of course. It's a lot easier to get people to try your game when it's part of a larger "metaverse" of games, as opposed to some random steam early access indie page. I like a lot of things about Roblox, but definitely not a big fan of how certain other things have been going lately, especially with "Luobu" and kneeling to the CCP's list of no-no's for a slice of that untapped oil field of gamer cash.

Why was no legal action taken...for literally anything in this video?? It's so concerning.
I don't think child labour / protection laws exist in the US for online market places like this. It seems Roblox's greatest innovation is reinventing child exploitation in a form policy makers and regulators are unable to recognise.

Their Dev-Ex rates are poor > Yeah; from every $1000 people spend on my game, I get $700 in virtual currency which I can exchange for $245 (Minus $5 transaction fee makes $240)
Scamming is common among developers > Two of our guys took 2 million robux and ran off together, great, Roblox wouldn't do anything about it. Support is not helpful.
Many of the people are often very inexperienced and shady > As a scripter, I am constantly in charge of the UI because I can't find anyone who knows how to scale the UI correctly.

A foundational, fundamental shift in how our system functions is the only way what you're looking for is going to happen. The politicians whose job it is to put regulations in place to do something about this kind of stuff are either: stomping on the gas pedal to accelerate this kind of stuff because they think it's good actually; are too out of touch to even understand the issue (there are some in the House and the Senate who LITERALLY do not understand what email is); or have abandoned us to fend for ourselves in the face of the depredations of these corporations because they can fundraise off of material conditions perpetually worsening.
Nothing changes if nothing changes, and nothing has fundamentally changed in a long, long time.

This is very heartening to see. As a now teenager who played Roblox when I was around six years old, I’m terrified for my younger sister who is obsessed with Roblox. When I was six years old, I played a role play game where I was manipulated into erping with a stranger. I had no idea what was happening and I was scared. But I knew that my parents would take the game away if I ever told them what happened to me on it, I’m certain other kids had similar experiences, and I sincerely hope this does not go unpunished. I love how it says 'It's against our rules to tell people to go offsite' and then at the bottom of most popular games made by multiple people, it has a space to put social links to twitter, discord and youtube.
i think those only show up for people 13 or older
that isn't the problem, the problem is they do nothing about the problems offsite because they claim it's not their fault, when their own platform enables this because of their flawed currency.

Simple when you have enough money laws stop applying to you. Welcome to the "free" market!
Because people making games for roblox is the same as Modders creating mods
"Jack's learning Unity now" just made me laugh. Because that's what's going to end up happening if Roblox doesn't clean up their act. Every developer worth the time and money is going to wise up to their antics, and go make an actual game they can make money on with an actual game engine. I'm pretty sure you'd get better results reporting this stuff to the owners of the trademarks being used; I highly doubt Nintendo would like their property being used to make money off of little kids.
That's a good idea. Pit them against each other lol. Hopefully Nintendo wins.
They already did try and find a good Pokémon game on roblox there was an entire lawsuit on multiple developers

I remember seeing the video, the fact they tried to get him to delete the video though is too predictable at this point.
"Jack's learning Unity now" is such a sad-good sentence. I'm happy he's learning a real platform, but sad it came to that.
