      You don't see what it really mean like a big chunk raw of thought that you'd have to swallow the first time.
      Rather slice it into different parts and let the opponent that incorrectly interpret the move fall for the sac.

    Tal was amazing. The way he played needed excellent health and stamina. I think it was impossible to maintain it once he was no longer young. I loved his games and he was a source of inspiration to me when I was playing competitive chess as a young boy.

    • @justinbieber8028
      @justinbieber8028 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it wasnt impossible to maintain it, he simply chose not to, yet he still managed to compete at the top level up until he died. who knows how strong he would have been if he had actually taken care of his health instead of drinking and smoking all the time.

    I feel like you should explain a bit more why the final position is lost - sure, white gets a queen but so does black after 1 ...Rxg5 2. Kxg5 d3 3. g7 d2 4. g8Q d1Q. We all know that queen vs queen endgames can be difficult to win (even with an extra pawn), however white has the move 5. Qb3+ forcing a trade of queens and leaving white with an easily winning K+P endgame.

    The whole sequence of moves throughout the game gives the impression of having been calculated almost from the beginning, but it's so complicated, with seemingly disparate and isolated pieces interacting in critical ways at the end.

    I am a chess noob, only discovered about Tal a couple of months ago. By playing very offensively and giving up pieces (trying to imitate Tal) I managed to win some games against a 2000 elo engine in chess pro.

    In case you are wondering at 9:31 why Hecht resigned, it is because after Black's unstoppable promotion to a queen at d1, White has qb3+, which is forced unless Black wastes a move by moving the king. After forcing a trade of queens, the f-pawn cannot be stopped, and will reach promotion well before the promotion of the a-pawn.

    Also, with the pawns the way it stands when black gives up, when he takes the rook with his own, they both will get a Queen at the same time (black immediately promotes his pawn after white does so) !

    Tal plays a tal move 😂😂

    In the second hypothetical scenario - _i.e._ the "knight contingency" - following Tal's optional knight/bishop sacrifice, everything is forced up until 5:24 whereupon the king has the option of moving to one of either two squares: *b6* or *c8.* You had played‐out only *c8* as if it were forced, yet *b6* seems a better square for black as it maintains rook connectivity. I feel that the king is safe there, because after *b1+* and *d3+,* black can respond with pawn to *c4.* After bishop takes giving another check, the king is transiently safe on *a5* because white's bishop is then preventing his c‐pawn from advancing - thereby giving _checkmate._ If white then tries to retreat his white‐squared bishop to allow this c‐pawn move, . . [. ..never mind, I didn't see bishop to *d6* followed by *b4* checkmate. Black appears to be completely screwed either way, even when considering this third contingency.]

      Travis there is also a forced checkmate in king b6 move as well

    it looks spectacular, that queen sacrifice. but Tal just took a big risk because the benefit is very very minimal a few moves later.
