    I go to Oklahoma State University and they offer Arts Administration. (For anyone interested in this who is looking for colleges that offer it as well). It was also a major I had never heard of and I am planning on changing majors because it seems really cool! There is a Art Museum and gallery on campus and another gallery in the town so there are lots of opportunities for internships and networking. This video is really helpful thanks!

      Do you know if I need to have undergraduate study in Arts ? Cause I have a bachelor degree in planning which I think is helpful but I’m afraid to they accept me :(

      What did you end up doing? I’m a junior in high school and I really want to have an art business but everyone is telling me it’s not stable or reliable. Even if I wanted to major in the arts in college it’s so hard to pick a medium cause I love almost every form of art. 🥲
      I’m also very good in school academically and I keep being told I’m “wasting my intelligence” by wanting to go in the art field instead of something academic. I’d love to hear your experience if you ever see this comment 😅

    I’m in my third year at uni and the degree I’m studying sounds very similar!! It’s very hard to explain to others haha. The Econ and accounting definitely caught me off guard in mine. I’ve been really enjoying your channel lately!

    Katie!! I first found you when I was looking for advice on dorms and CofC in general back in Decemeber 2020. I've kept up with you & your videos since, especially your experience with study abroad. I'm now a rising sophomore at CofC, majoring in arts management with a concentration in the music industry, and minoring in creative writing and French. It was such a surprise to look up "things I wish I knew before majoring in art management" and then see your channel pop up all over again - and super helpful. I was hung up on the Econ and math, so it was good to hear what you had to say about that.
    I'm struggling right now with committing to this major, I feel strongly that there's a lot here for me but the courseload along with being in the honors college is a bit much. I also really want to study abroad for at least one semester. I'd ideally like to take some electives like photography and try some other social science classes just for fun, but I'm finding that near impossible with the amount of so called buckets I need to fill. Definitely not willing to lose the writing minor and I'd prefer to continue with French, hence my second guessing before really getting into the the work for this major. But hearing you talk about it has reminded me why I was attracted to it in the first place, and I'm going to try to figure out how to make all this work!
    Anyway, I also have no clue what direction I'd like to explore after college and I'm curious about your experience outside of the music industry concentration. I know you made this video over a year ago, so I guess I'm wondering where you're at with things now and if there's any advice you might be able to give me! Regardless, thanks for all your help :)

    I have a Bachelor in music and I’m interested in doing the master In performing arts management in Milan, Italy. Your video gave me a general view and was very helpful. Do you know how much this master cost in USA universities? In Italy around 20 Grands.

    • @katieblake
      @katieblake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oof yeah I’m not sure what international rates are on top of tuition but honestly it’s ridiculously expensive. Can be upwards of 50 grand a year for grad school in America. I myself am looking to go abroad for grad school. I’m sure there are scholarships or research opportunities to alleviate the cost so it’s definitely something to look into!! But that’s my honest answer. Thanks for watching! :)

    You might have done a lot of research before choosing this school..
    Do you know more schools in the US which provide this master degree?

    • @katieblake
      @katieblake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha 😆 my research will now go to a good use!! Yes! I know American university, Colombia, Carnegie melon, BU, Drexel ... those are just off the top of my head but I know there’s more! Arts colleges often call it a similar name but not quite arts Management. Honestly for masters it’s way more common than undergrad

    Hello, I'm a Theatre major who wants to get a certificate in Arts Managment (my school offers it) and I was wondering, is this worth it for my goals? I want to do something very much along the lines of this, especially grant writing for arts organizations. I have been complimented on my writing abilities throughout my life and get really passionate about causes. I have a severe math disability and unfortunately that has led to a lot of majors I can't do.

    The school I'm applying to only offers this a minor, and I was wondering what you thought would be good to pair this field of study? I have a lot of different interests but I'm not sure what would pair best with the minor given the nature of it and I wanted to hear your thoughts as someone who is in it. Thank you!

    • @katieblake
      @katieblake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I know people who want a career in fashion and major in arts management! While you don’t take any “fashion” specific classes with the program it definitely prepares students for any creative business environment. It won’t be specialized like an FIT program would but it’s a good stepping stone degree to really any creative field. Let me know if I can clarify anything!
