Sarah dropped down to 30 % after 18 months and continue to support the company with high priority. As for Deborah and Peter, they both regret missing out on the oppurtunity but still take joy in the success the company had. What an episode! I love the brand Nylah and so glad Kam got investment, but on another note, dragons den needs a Black successful entrepreneur on the panel. Any person who has experience with Black hair, understands the market and the culture. The market is incredibly lucrative and underserved, particularly in the UK. I think the lack of diversity will mean businesses targeting a lucrative niche in the Black community will be unfortunately dismissed.
There are two female investors and an Asian male and Turkish male I think where the diversity is really lacking is in the ideas of black entrepreneurs. Half of all black business you see these days is either to do with hair grooming or clothing line. Its getting boring now.
Do you know how racist you sound when you have Tej sitting there as an Indian, you’ve had James as a Pakistani, Piers from a Barbados background, and Touker is a Cypriot background. We all have hair, and you don’t need to be a certain demographic to understand a product and blame a business doing terribly numbers wise on the dragons ‘lack of diversity’
