Did you have to do anything on the CPU? Replaced my ignition switch but seems to be cutting the fuel pump so it won't start. Not sure if this is a safe feature...
is that it, would the bike start now if u put the key in? jw cuz some dude snipped my wires tryna steal my ninja 300 and i was wondering if i could just buy one of these aftermarket ignitions and just toss the old one. Or should i try to use butt connectors/crimps to put the OEM one back together?
Kev Dog yeah, the bike will work as long as you hook up a new ignition correctly. If the stock ignition is still in tact, i would just reconnect the wires(should be easy since you can just match the colors) and you can still have a one key system (one key for the helmet lock, ignition, gas cap, seat lock, etc). Going with a new ignition will make you use a new key for your ignition.
ah okay, i think i'm gonna go the reconnect way then, what do you think is the best option for the long term? butt connector/crimp or soldering them together? i've never done anything electrical before sooo i guess i'll need to learn. what do u think
Hey guys new rider here...yeah I know but I have a question. I realized in the video that its off already. I want to take it off and get new keys and lock. Any suggestions please. Want to get on and ride asap. And where can I find the top and bottom fairings? Please help thanks in advance
Tyrone Gamble i have a video somewhere on the channel where i take it off. As for the fairings, 500R are hard to come by. Check the ninja 500r and Kawasaki forums for listings. As well as eBay. Best chance is online somewhere. I know a company produces fairings for the 500R but i forgot the name. One google and you could probably find what you’re looking for. Goodluck!
I found it.... I don't wanna sound weird.. But you think you have. Any pointers for like first timers? Am I wasting money on a bad bike? I gotta switch the key cause I don't want the previous owner or other people tinkering with it.
Tyrone Gamble you can dm me on Instagram if you want (@cmeacham_1) but i think a first bike should be cheap (of course relative to the rider, not too much power (250cc-600cc). Probably more to the 250cc side if you have little to no experience with bikes. Spend good money on high quality gear, that is the stuff that will keep you alive. Take the motorcycle course and get your M certification. As far as the new ignition and set of keys, It’s fairly a cheap repair/fix. If you don’t want people tinkering with your bike, i would suggest an alarm system. But if someone is really determined to have your bike, all they have to do is get a couple friends and they can lift it into the back of a truck and you’ll never see your bike again. Just be careful and smart when parking and when leaving your bike. Don’t ride like an asshole, ride a cool bike, and have fun.
BeautyvsBeastPranks you could do this install without taking anything off, but for me, it was easier to take the top tree out. (So you just have to take off the handlebars, and the compression nut on the top tree) it’s like 7 bolts. I also had the front fairing, since i was disassembling the bike. However i believe you can do without taking a lot of stuff off, it will just be limited room to work in
John Marin sorry I can not (mostly because I don’t have a 650). I would try searching google, if possible, as well as ninja forums. Lots of people have really good information, all you gotta do is ask on the forum!
John Marin yup no problem. I should have a video on in the ninja playlist in my channel where i drill out the security bolts and initially take out the old ignition
GR Bautista i drilled them out. I think there is a video over this on my channel. But it’s super easy. Get a small drill bit and then drill the security bolts (they look like rivets) and they should come right out.
GR Bautista i would drill a small hole. And then screw them out. From the factory, they screw in special security bolts. (Imagine a screw but with the head filled in). I have a video over this. It is episode 7 of my ninja build (it is in the ninja 500 playlist on my channel. And it’s called “removing the security bolts - ninja 500r ep. 7)
If you have a multi-part video you should put links to other parts in your description.
You didn't switch it on to test the connection

@@kevincorrigan1754I heard some of the Chinese ones don’t put the 100 ohm resistor on the grey wire making them ineffective.

How much was that bike?
What size bolts were they that went in the triple tree??
Do I need to take the whole top off like handle bars, front cover etc

Chris Meacham awesome buddy appreciate the help
@@developmentdivision122 are these similar to the 94 zx9r?
is the engine equal to gpz 500s from 1994?
in my small research, it seems so
Please help- what size hardware to hold the ignition on? Or link to buy. I lost mine...
Jake Lama look it up on the forums. But since it's your lucky day, 4.5mm bolts.

hey i got a kawasaki ninja ex650a 2007 and i cant get the key swicth off.
John Marin why can’t you get it off lol. What problem are you encountering?
Chris Meacham theres is welded together cant get it off
John Marin well those are probably the security bolts. Just drill them out. If not, then you’re out of luck. Try reading some ninja forums
Sicckkkk how can I convince my parents to get me a bike? Haha
Matthew RK bro I have no idea how I convinced mine haha. good luck man 🤙🏾
I legit just came home with one and im like deal with it lol. Wasn't aloud but did it anyways 🤣👌
You buy one yourself. Store it where they won't find it. Simple as that
If your an adult just buy one
Bro I’ll never how I did it. Good grades helped! Lol
The old ignition is riveted to the tree. How did you get the rivets out?
GR Bautista i drilled them out. I think there is a video over this on my channel. But it’s super easy. Get a small drill bit and then drill the security bolts (they look like rivets) and they should come right out.
Chris Meacham cool. Thanks. So I can drill a small hole in them and then pull them out?

If I remove the tripple tree cover to install new barrel, will it affect fork seals/oil
