@achasemahr coming across the video, as I’m about to undergo a front rebuild after getting back my stolen Z650. Ignition barrel, tank and rear lock are drilled out. I’m wondering if after this video, you’ve learnt anything new since or maybe have any better ways to replace these. I imagine when I remove the front end completely I’ll find it easier to replace the barrel though?
If you buy the ignition from the shop you got your bike at (or any motorcycle/powersports store) they can see what bolts you need and sell them to you.
@@Moonninja420 agreed brother. it was a great ride and you should totally get one! Im eyeballing getting another one and watching it better this time around. Ride safely
Dang, looks like a bit of work. I'm replacing mine because I have to replace the lock on my fuel door and it was cheap to just get an all new set of everything.

I tried my best to make a useful guide. If it helped you, why not give it a like.

Wonderfully done video! Super helpful, replacing the ignition in my new motorcycle i got off auction later this evening!
What type of bike did you get?

Do you have a video of how to reinstall it with those rivets you removed?
Where did you get the tamper proof bolts to put back in place? Or is that impossible?
Revzilla
does the bike start up with the new piece ? or is immobilization active ?
Starts
How do I replace the bolts after drilling them out?

great video, sorry about your motorcycle. my zx6r recently got stolen and this wouldve been helpful if it wasnt ruled a loss.
I want a zx-6r so badly. That's painful bro. I feel so bad for you. Special place in hell for motorcycle thieves.

Did you have to code the bike to the new ignition or not? I’m going to buy a bike that’s been stolen and recovered
No

Could you have glued a bolt head to the security bolts and removed them with a normal socket instead of drilling them?
Not glue. Maybe welding would have worked.
All you have to do is remove the two 8mm bolts that hold the ignition to the bracket👍
really great video informative
How do I get out the two bolts that I driled out
I'm thinking a hack saw. Use it to cut a notch in the top of the bolt. Then use your best screw driver.
My handlebars are locked and I think a piece of a flathead is stuck in the ignition so it’s making getting that hex bolt out so so much more difficult
Don't be like him. Undo the top triple tree.
@@anggaros1 I already did it but would that have made it easier?
@@anggaros1 nvm that’s a common sense question of course it would have
if you undo the triple tree you can get to those bolts?@@anggaros1
Hey I followed every step but my motorcycle didn’t start somebody has idea how can I fix it?
check if any wires are lose and if everything is connected good. also immobilizer might be active too
