Daniel and I met studying abroad in Ireland and our second date was in Rome on a weekend getaway. We loved taking a trip down memory lane watching your video! You guys shared so many great tips, awesome video. The kids that stopped you in the street were so cute! Such a heartwarming moment.
The production quality of your videos has increased 100 fold over the last couple of years I’ve been watching. Bravo! Great job! And if you ever would like to collaborate or just banter, it’s what I do by profession. Your shot composition has improved so much!!
This means so much to hear 🥹 we still have a long way to get to where we want to be production wise, but lately we’ve been so proud of these newer videos. It is so reassuring to hear you notice our efforts. Thank you!!
It looks so beautiful there! The view from the "typewriter" was fantastic, so nice that you went to places that weren't crowded when you could. Those boys were so cute! Great series on Italy!
I look forward to Sunday and seeing your latest videos. I'm surprised they don't have more views! I am more open to visiting Rome now and have been saving all the locations in my guides on my iPhone! I love how you post the names of all your sites; it really helps!
Being that I’ll be departing on a cruise from Rome next month (June 2024), and plan to stay 2 or 3 nights in Rome prior to departure, I found this video helpful. My next step is to research which area and hotel to stay at that is fairly close to the Coliseum and other attractions, and at the same time not too expensive. I plan to view this video again before getting to Rome.
Glad you enjoyed our video!! Have a fantastic trip. For the record we stayed at Anthony Guesthouse, which is a 30 minute walk from the main attractions. We liked the quiet neighborhood and it was affordable.
Great vlog! So many on TH-cam are not helpful and the presenters are incredibly annoying.... you guys present really well, really informative, nice videos to accompany your advice - great job!!!
What a gorgeous couple you are and what a fabulous video. I'm sixty and going to Rome on a budget, solo in a few days time. I've made notes of your suggestions. Wish me luck! ❤
First of all, you cannot see Rome in a day, but they did manage to hit many of the highlights. I live in Rome for part of the year and I still have not seen everything. Secondly, it’s not true that tables and chairs are a sign of a tourist cafe. Yes, Romans take their coffee at the counter in the morning or for after lunch if you have to return to the office, but there are oftentimes tables and chairs if you want something more casual or if you’re meeting with someone. Lastly, there are probably a half a dozen better Carbonara places in Rome compared to La Famiglia. On a better note, Freni e Frizioni is a very good dive bar with great deals.
Thank you for another great video! It brought back many fond memories of being in Rome with my wife and daughter. Y'all are just the cutest couple! Thank you for the reference to Anthony Bourdain. Your cousin Mike from eastern NC.
Excellent tips!!! I totally would have fallen for all the tourist traps. Rome was #5 on my to do list but you guys bumped it up to #3. Glad you guys made some new fans!!! Hope you guys hit 100K Subs after this. Good helpful tips for the Colosseum, eating at La Famiglia, oh and no astronauts at the Spanish Steps. I'll leave my astronaut suit at home :P "Like"
Hahahah this comment made our day!!! Thanks for the support :) how funny would it be if we get a group together to go to the steps in astronaut outfits 😂😂😂
Yup and ill dress up as a policeman and give you guys a citation and yell out "cant you guys see the sign?!?!? NO ASTRONAUTS!!!" Heyyyyy a lightbulb just went off. i think i have an idea for a promotional stunt for Touristolocal :P
Thank you so much you guys for sharing your journeys… We are from the Western Isles of Scotland and are off to Sicily in three weeks! We have watched your recent Sicily video which made us feel a lot more confident about our adventure. Grazie mille
For the restaurants and cafes that you suggested, would it be easy enough to order there without knowing Italian? I love the tips about the less crowded spots 👍🏼
Just found your channel and I love it. May I inquire what hotel you stayed in? We are going to Rome this summer before a cruise and there are 10,000 hotels to choose from. I definitely plan on going to Freni e Frizioni as I am a huge Anthony Bourdain fan. And also La Familia for dinner. Thanks for the input. I love to travel and really appreciate your videos
We stayed at Anthony Guesthouse and loved it! Rooms were affordable and spacious, plus we were able to walk there from the train station. Thanks so much for watching! We are glad you enjoy what we do :)
Holy cow! I had my first cappuccino on my first day in Rome in the same cafe! Thanks for triggering my memory. It was served in the same designed cup. Excellent video
My Grandfather marched into this city in WWII as a member of The U.S./Canada First Special Service Force (Black Devil's). He was attached to General Mark Clarke's 5th American Army and participated in it's Liberation from The Nazis.
@@TouristtoLocal Actually there was a lot of activity here during WWII. All the way up from the beaches up The Italian Boot right on into Rome. Winston Churchill called it "The Soft Underbelly" while The Allied Soldiers called it" The Tough Old Gut" Because the Valleys and Apennine Mountains up the Boot were heavily defended By The Germans. I remember my Grandfather saying when He landed at Anzio The Germans had all their Artillery sighted from the Mountains onto the Beaches and had a Rail gun called Anzio Annie that could Lob shells at will from 2 miles inland onto the Beaches.
Hello, Great video. We will be traveling there in June. Do the employees in the restaurants without an English menu speak English? I am brushing up on Italian phrases but am just curious in case we get into a language barrier. Thanks
A lot of people spoke english, but not everyone. If you're worried, download google translate before hand to use their transcription feature, or just use hand gestures :)
Wohh this is so much insight full. Loved the ways you guys brought in the concept of budget travel in Rome. a quick question, could you tell me where you purchased online ticket for Pantheon?
Well I'm not gonna lie, this video may have influenced me into booking a little weekend trip to Rome 😅 Haven't been back since Sept 2021 so I'm sure to visit the places you guys went to 😎👍🏻🇮🇹🫶🏻
Absolutely love this! Traveling Rome on a budget sounds like a dream come true. Can't wait to explore all these affordable options and make the most of my trip. Grazie for the awesome tips! 🇮🇹✈
Thanks for the great video❤ May I ask how you moved from one side of the town to the other ? Was it just walking ? And is it possible to do it with a 5 year-old kid in a stroller?
Thank you guys! We are heading there in Sept/October this year! I was searching tickets for the colosseum to enter and there were different kinds and made me feel overwhelmed! I’m unsure if the ones that are costly are worth it? We are a group of 4 and don’t plan on spending longer than 2 hours at the Colosseum. Please advise!

Thanks for the great video❤ May I ask how you moved from one side of the town to the other ? Was it just walking ? And is it possible to do it with a 5 year-old kid in a stroller?
We just walked! The furthest we walked was 40 minutes between spots I believe. With the cobblestones, a stroller may be difficult.
Where do you buy the tickets to all the monuments online?
What is the name of the hotel you stayed at please and the location area thank you
It's Anthony Guesthouse! Here's the link: www.booking.com/hotel/it/anthony-b-amp-b.html

Is this really February, looks more like the late spring time. Can't believe its not raining.
This was from September actually 😅 we had another project we had to post before and just got around to posting this!
Good 👌👌👌

How many weeks were you in Italy?
A total of 3 weeks!

How much did you pay for the drink?
“A big battle” lmao
Hahahaha to put it quite simply
Have you done Vietnam?
Not yet, but we would love to!
I’ll be in Rome 5/31!
