I have a fond memory I would like to share: So me and some Wardens were fighting on a front, I went into a bombed out house that now worked as a basement. The Colonials fought my comrades back and I was left alone in the basement. I kept shooting out of the small holes and until I got surrounded and I yelled out that I would like to surrender. The Colonials agreed and told me to put my gun down and lay on the ground. After I had been thoroughly checked for weapons they started to yell at me about how horrible the Wardens were and how much they hate us. I yelled back similar things. More Collies showed up to bully their prisoner and discussed executing me on the spot. That was until I pulled out the pin of the grenade I was hiding and they immediately rushed out of the basement while I blew myself up. This was a long time ago, but I still think about it from time to time.

He brought up the Geneva convention because that's the set of treaties that outline rules for war, THE rules for war. So technically there really is no such thing as a war crime because there has never been a treaty to criminalize anything. "Stood together since they were children" I take that to mean that they were lifelong friends, especially because of the keyword "Were". "...These children were hopeless..." I assume he means that they were green, i.e. fresh to war and not literally children. "...the pistol you've had since you were strong enough to hold it." I think of it as either an embellishment, like when people that have been doing a profession for so long say it *Runs in their veins* , or that your character was raised around guns/ a military culture.
You do realize there were war crimes even back in the middle era. Like how peasents wernt allowed to kill knights or the king. Sure it's not what we would think of as a warcrime by today's standards but warcrimes did exist back then.
Well, yes, I think you got a point there. I guess any reasonably normal person would call the killing of civilians by soldiers of enemy or even their own armed forces a war crime. But without the Geneva Convention, there would be no globally accepted basis for the assessment and therefore no legal basis for condemning it. So... is a crime really a crime if there are no laws prohibiting it?
I know people’ve been complaining that Colonial lore is undeveloped, which is a hint in itself, but do we have any evidence of Colonial warcrimes? I mean, there has to be something already there or coming up - the game’s whole narrative is that one faction is just as bad as the other.
In the cronicles of ashes colonial forces attempt to recruit 12-13 year olds to the army forcefully, and even attack their own civilians for trying to defend those children
Matt's not really wrong because in Foxhole, there ARE NO accepted international rules of war. That's what the Geneva Convention was. It was a convention in Geneva to agree upon international rules of war and Foxhole never had that.
It's so we can punish those we see as evil and injust. I mean would you have preferred to see all the Nazis that slaughtered the Jews still alive and kicking? You're line of thinking is what caused the Holocaust.

good thing I wasn't mentioned in this
Ngl i'm starting to think Foxhole is an accurate depiction of Krieg from Warhammer.
nobody tell him about the femboy conversion camps
They're not war crimes if you don't get caught
No, they arent If there is Nobody to conivct you of them
I mean that guy who buried those warden's alive caught them.
Wardens and Colonials on reddit:
You are savages
No you are the savages you attacked first!
No you did! You are all baby eating savages!
Wardens and Colonials in lore:
-We are both unreasonable backwards barbarians aren't we?
-Yeah...
-We belong in hell for all this slaugther and constant unrelenting atrocities atrocities?
-We are already there.
The Lore is dee.
Where "weekly" upload >:(

The guy takes its definitions from google... im dead, and gay
LORE VIDEO???
Dark stuff
Well, yes, I think you got a point there. I guess any reasonably normal person would call the killing of civilians by soldiers of enemy or even their own armed forces a war crime. But without the Geneva Convention, there would be no globally accepted basis for the assessment and therefore no legal basis for condemning it. So... is a crime really a crime if there are no laws prohibiting it?
Good comment, love youtube. Yes, Yes
yes
Is there canned meat in Foxhole? Asking as a Canadian.
Yes there is
some one needs to make a foxhole like game but set in ww2 aka no real trench warfare
I was expecting a funny meme, got a summary of real lore in a documentary fashion.
I know people’ve been complaining that Colonial lore is undeveloped, which is a hint in itself, but do we have any evidence of Colonial warcrimes? I mean, there has to be something already there or coming up - the game’s whole narrative is that one faction is just as bad as the other.
I’m sure there are, Just harder to find
In the cronicles of ashes colonial forces attempt to recruit 12-13 year olds to the army forcefully, and even attack their own civilians for trying to defend those children
hollowpoints allowed
i never realized how grousem this game was, what I've done to wardens is child play compared to this.
freedom
You should always be colonial as the warden uniform looks vaguely French (ew)
yes
Hmmm yummy
what definition are u using tho? This worlds definition of war crime. 🤔
Matt's not really wrong because in Foxhole, there ARE NO accepted international rules of war. That's what the Geneva Convention was. It was a convention in Geneva to agree upon international rules of war and Foxhole never had that.
If the wardens have no agreed upon rules/terms to their war, then what you said is true and I agree with you.
Damn this is sad
bros in the comments acting like foxhole is a real war
Fr fr this video game is some people’s entire life bra
I commit war crimes
For the algorithm
Geneva checklist
I understand that war crimes prevent bad things from happening but it’s war how are there rules
It's so we can punish those we see as evil and injust. I mean would you have preferred to see all the Nazis that slaughtered the Jews still alive and kicking? You're line of thinking is what caused the Holocaust.
