1982: greatest hits of the year!
2022: this song never dies! Gotta forever love Hall and Oates!
This is where it all started for this Awesome 80's Duo!!
+Rob Morgan "Kiss on My List"
+Rob Morgan
Their "Voices" album in 1980 started their string of hits for the next 5 years
+Rob Morgan Their first hit was She's Gone in 1972, then Rich Girl around 1976. Voices album did totally bust out - it was the first one they got to produce for themselves.
Best pop duo of the 80's Hall & Oates!
+Ruben Delgadillo I second that. Here's hoping they get Kennedy Center Honors ASAP.
Best OVERALL musical duo in my opinion
Daryl Hall and John Oates, often referred to as Hall & Oates, are an American musical duo from Philadelphia. Daryl Hall is generally the lead vocalist of the pairing. John Oates primarily plays electric guitar and provides backing vocals. The two write most of the songs they perform, either separately or in collaboration. They achieved their greatest fame from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s with a fusion of rock and roll
my bad time relief song
A near 50 year collaboration has ended, sadly. But even though they've broken up, their tunes will always endure.
When did they break up?
@@ajs41 About a month or so before I posted my comment. There was a lawsuit over the use of one of their songs (Oats lossed, btw), and that was the last straw. Animosity had been building for years.
Man, the bass player must be having the time of his life...
+Derek Trollingstone He does smile at the end.
+Derek Trollingstone That's my dude right there, I was so intrigueed by him, so cool.
He's the only one that could pass as actually playing the instrument correctly vs making it flashy and nice for video. Lol
That's true.
+Derek Trollingstone That's T-Bone Wolk. He's no longer with us.
I get so emotional everytime i hear Hall and Oates i really love them and modern pop could learn a lot of this
+Shaise Mughal i feel ya :(
hahaha of course you do
Yes, trilby hats, trench coats, a slap back-beat, and Tom Waits on bass....everything a video needs.
+Arthur Burns G.E. Smith on guitar BTW...
you sound ignorant, have you been watchin beyoncé closely, private eye? she's got more balls than any 80s popstar, male or female.
I was eating alone at a restaurant earlier today, and this song started playing from the restaurant speakers. 😂😂😂
Paranoia will destroy ya!
It's been quite a roller coaster ride, but I've grown and learned a lot about myself. The greatest thing is being able to interact with fans and touch people's lives... for that I give you this chance to view my description📝..
I love how this song is romantic and creepy at the same time.
What about "Eye in the Sky" by Alan Parsons?
Daryl hall and John Oates is awesome and precious and I love all of their songs and music and I love them both too very much they will always be my favorite singers and musicians I can never get enough of them and their songs and music too love, always Tina leger

@@deni0.0.7 look rather than lok [spellcheck]
right .omg.ur being stalked by a talented singer.
The bass player is so chill.
He's deceased.
若い頃よく聞いたなあ‥ボーカルさん素敵だし!歌が好きな人は 歌っている時が一番楽しく、魅力が発揮されるのですよね。
Your right, I never noticed how much it looks like he enjoys singing.

人は誰でも、好きなことをしている時に魅力が発揮されるのでは?説教じみて、すみません。

None of us truly understood the power music has to transport us back in time, sitting here as a 52 year old man this takes me back to my times in high school.

The bridge is magic. H&O are damn national treasures. One of the greatest all-time jams. I will blast it every time it pops up on a playlist.
Bought the cassette to this album in '82 and played "Private Eyes" on repeat probably 35-40 times in a row.
That’s how it was for me with Foreigner & Urgent!
Fantastic song! Goodtimes! I sing this while driving my jeep down Pacific Ocean to Malibu! Sounds FANTASTIC!!!!

Love Hall and Oates and I’m 23 but is it me or does it seem like Daryl does most of the singing
❤❤
Hearing these guys reminds me of why I like 80's music so much. The sound is so clean and crisp, there is still nothing like it.
Hall and oates made some proper timeless pop songs, well done lads will love them forever!
