Another tip for cleaning them- i found that i was using a lot of paper towels so i went into tesco (i live in the uk) and bought some cheap blue and white all purpose cloths cloths (10 for 32p) which work out at 3p a use to clean the foreman instead, i still clean it powered on though, every few wipes ill wash under the tap again. This works out cheaper and takes up less storage space. plus i find that if i press too hard i burn myself with the paper towels- not with the cloths
This is a great tip, thanks. Jeyes cloths I them, blue and white
Per manufacturer it states to NEVER use cooking spray on the product because the propellant builds upon the surface of the plate and effects the heating... just a heads up. Im sure it wouldnt hurt it now and then but I was surprised to read said to never use it in the owners manual.
I got a Griddler and I absolutely love it. It's like a foreman but the surface areas on the top and bottom detach from the device. Really easy to clean.
OH man, that foil tip is a LIFESAVER, thanx!!!!
You're welcome! I know you had some rough times and I am happy to see that everything is ok now + you are inspirational.
Great tips! I always clean it later after I eat. I just turn it on low, and wipe it down with a damp sponge. Easy peasy!
I'm a wet paper towel on hot grill guy too when it comes to cleaning the foreman grill. Never thought of doing the aluminum foil. Boom!! another great idea!!
Or you can try what I do and get you some ReynoldsKitchen Parchment Paper Cookie Sheets and unfold them and place them on the grill. The fold obviously needs to be at the hinged part of the grill. Place the meats between the top & bottom of the sheet just like you would without the parchment paper and close the lid. The parchment will not burn and it won't stop the meats from browning or getting the grill marks. I make sure the drip edge will still let the liquid flow out and into the catch tray. I also line my catch tray with foil. When your through cooking the cleanup is almost non existent.
now i can finally buy one!
Oh yes! a contest!
George Foreman has also a cleaning products line made for his grills.
I have the same grill and the plates are removable lol. Makes it a lot easier to clean.
Yep, using any empty bottle/jar as a grease collector is a great idea. Pretty easy to just store it under the sink until it's full and can be thrown out.
That's the way I do it man way easier than leting it cool down
Many's a time I've just left my Foreman to go eat and taken an eternity cleaning it. I like to use the second method now, it takes no time at all, and definitely makes cleaning it a lot easier.
Thank you for the tip.
Good video man. I done have a George Foreman but I still liked it, lol.
Nice video mate, exactly what i do! Another thing i do is put a single paper towl or a couple squares of toilet roll in the actual drip tray, so then after the food is cooked you can just chuck that in the bin and it not go down the drain :) Keep up the great work, been following your vids for a while now and some very helpful info so thank you for taking the time!
Love your videos. You are very knowledgeable about many things!
best way i found out to clean one is that you take about 4 paper towel and soak them with water. while the grill is off and still hot place the paper towels in the grill so that they are covering the whole grill. the steam from the towel will actually help loosen the food off the grill and after you are done eat you just take a little soap with another wet paper towel and you just wipe clean....best way i found out
Great Tips, Michael. Many thanks
Mike do a chest video bro! Showing how many reps and sets you along with the different exercises
or you could wait about two or three minutes after turning off your George Foreman grill, grab one or two sheets of paper towel (depending on what kind you have) run it under the faucet, put it in the george foreman grill and let it "steam" while you eat. when you're done eating the food residue on the grill will still be super easy to clean off. or you could use parchment paper when you cook (i find it better to use than foil, in my opinion).
Great tip
I just cleaned mine the same way,,,,Im enjoying my delicious grilled chicken as i watch this.
good video idea, that thing is a pain to clean, thanks!
Hey Michael. I love all your videos. Can you do more recipes on what to cook with the George Foreman? Please.
THanks!
gratz on 50th video, I love your stuff :)
thanks man
I got frustrated with my grill and returned it. Wish u would have made this video like six months ago lol . I just use your foil and chicken in the oven idea works great no mess
Micheal do a video on how you plan your macros (if you do). like if you have more carbs post workout or the same with every meal etc. If you already have that video, sorry, i havn't seen it.
Top man and keep the videos coming!! (a video on cleaning....really!?!?! hahahah)
Nice tips man, thank you so much
Cool, that's pretty much the exact way I cleaned my George Foreman.
love the gym videos, make some lat ones.
3:20 cold burger then 😱😱😱
ive been using both these ways already.. awesome
Foil method is the best guys! No cleaning at all most of the time. :)
Back in college, discovering that alum foil trick was like... mindblowing! But sometimes, when we pick our food out, we accidentally poke a hole in the foil and well, you can imagine what happened. My roommates and I neglected it when that happens and boy, the consequences sucked especially when we have to use it the next time. Although it's too late now, this tip will be helpful when I get my own GF Grill.
Great vid.
For $1 More you can get the grill with EASY REMOVABLE non stick plates that clean super easy. G broil Grill Supreme
wish i had this grill
Great video .. many thanks bro
Reduce waist: use a sponge instead of paper towels! I have dish sponge that I only use to clean my gril (using just water and no detergents).
Hey Michael, you shouldn't drain out the fat in the grill tray into the sink. It gets caught up in your plumbing and causes clogs. Thanks for the awesome vids and keep it up!
Good tips, i have been scraping it off with the plastic thing that i got with my grill lol
This is the way I do it too. Works great and allows me to get to eating sooner! Gaiinnnnzzz.
good shit!
My George Forman grill has the removable plates. Just pop them off and put them in the dishwasher.
You kinda look like that johnny guy in the karate kid! You know the guy that kicks karate kids ass ;). Subscribed!
I do something similar. I wet the paper towel and put it on the grill itself. The hot grill evaporates the water--essentially steam cleaning the grill. Gets all that shit off eassssyyyy.
The Foreman is already non-stick he says! HA, Kory, you're funny...
Btw the grill plates on my foreman actually come off so i can just leave them to soak in the sink
You can turn off the grill after using it, so that you can enjoy your fresh food. And then come back later after your delicious meal, and turn it on for a couple of minutes so it's heated up again, then go on cleaning. That's what I do
Michael, you should make more at home workouts. I just watched your old Spartan 300 video yesterday, you should make more like that if you're embarrassed to do it at the gym! And thanks for the video, my foreman grill is pretty nasty right now.
I do EXACTLY the same thing. It annoys the hell out of me when the people in my house don't clean up after themselves when they cook, especially the Foreman.
And we love your stuff :)
omg i never thought of putting foil on the surface hahah
great idea using aluminum
Old vid but from the packaging that looks like 96% lean, 10 minutes those got to be dry as the sahara, lol. I only pan cook 96% and use 85% 7min on the Forman since it get more fat off 👍 the wet paper towel method and pre spray work ok
I use a sponge, might help save some paper towels ;)
I just got one yesterday! ahaha
Nice video
I'm surprised you're still alive with all that foreman and microwave abuse. You must be the chosen one that brings balance to the kitchen.
What's the point of using a Foreman grill ? The aluminium foil prevents the grilling action and keeps the fat on the food. Isn't the Foreman grill the complete opposite of that ?
You should always clean your pots and pans etc when you're done cooking. Makes food more enjoyable knowing you dont have to clean lol
I'm late to this party but I just want to say I use tongs to hold the paper towel or sponge thingy so I don't burn myself.
What do you mean it might react to the heat? Are you saying it isn't necessarily safe to use foil?
Hey Michael, can you throw a contest with the prize being a George Foreman? Could I be the only one in this contest? I would like a George Foreman.
foil for the motherfuckin win
I just put the trays in the dishwasher ^_^
I like your method better because i don't want to waste a lot of foil :)
Hey mike can you tell me which George foreman grill is this! I would really appreciate it! Love the vids big fan of yours!
nice video
Pro tip: use this exact method, but clean the top first...otherwise you may just drip all over and redirty the bottom half.
All you do is wipe it down with water? I don't use this grill myself but it seems, like anything else, you should use some soap too. :s
YEAAAAAAAAAAH
When im finish using the grill i close it, the next day its spotless. Lol I love my mom :)
Hey Michael what's a good way to stop food sticking to the George foreman grill? I tried your burgers and chicken on it but the ripped apart because they got stuck I always put oil on them ! :( Still delicious do !!
Kashi Go Lean, non-gmo! NICE! :) Although I'm anti wal-mart. LoL!
I just have the maid clean it. I find it's very easy.
Never put the oil in the sink. The waste water treatment plant has hard time cleaning it. Instead just dump it in the garbage bin
Is it true that grill food causes/gives cancer? if you type on google it says there.
Also how many times a week do you eat grill food?????
Product description says the plates are removable - is that true?
You shouldn't drain the fat into the sink, I've had my sink get clogged in the past (even with a disposer). The fat solidifies and accumulates once it cools.
i use dishcloths with soap and water, is that good?
Hmmm I've never had a problem cleaning it and I always wash it after I eat.
***AWESOME TIP FOR KEEPING GEORGE FOREMAN CLEAN***
Line the drip tray with tin foil, and then let the tray fill up with fat and grease over time as you cook your meals. When the tray is full, simply throw out the tin foil and repeat!! No mess at all.
The model is George Foreman GRP99BLK 100-Square-Inch Nonstick Countertop Grill, Black . www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001F2CJUQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
I don't even have a GF grill, and i'm still watching..
best part of video: 0.37 ;)
Why am I watching this video instead of writing my paper, when I don't even own a George Foreman!
Are you suppose to use cooking spray on it ? Doesn't it damage it ?
I dont even own a george forman but I still watched the video haha Liked!
I don't think you should put grease in the sink. Otherwise good video
you don't put soap on it??
What is the grill he using?
What model number is your George Forman grill
This was quite useful BUT do NOT pour fat down your drain!!!
It can solidify in your pipes or if it manages to make it through your pipes it can create a Fatburg in the sewer lines
In the long run the small traces of aluminum that transfers to your food will accumulate in your body and cause issues. I recommend anyone to research the effects before they try this out.
@Michaelkoryfitness Dumping the dripping down the drain will clog your sink over time.
