  • The video will guide you through the Yin Yoga version of the Straddle pose, also known as Dragonfly or the Splits. You will be in the pose for about 10 minutes, but do listen to your body: if you need to come out earlier, please do so! To learn about HOW to do the Straddle in more detail and to learn about the benefits and contraindications for the pose (ie: to determine if this pose is right for you) please view The Straddle Explained at yinyoga.com before doing this posture. At yinyoga.com you will find explanations of many of the most common Yin Yoga asanas. Now - let the Yin begin!

Fantastic - thank you for posting this. Gotta could chuckle when you said "marinate" in the pose - describes it perfectly!

Bernie! I just found your videos today and I love them! I'm in a teacher training program and I use these videos to help with hip flexibility. Thank you so much for uploading these and sharing your knowledge!
And, on a non-yoga related note, I love how you say "juicy" for the really good, deep stretches. It's really the best word for it. I'm going to start incorporating that into my classes. :)

I love your videos but some I wish I could mute out the background sound, it hurts my teeth and gives me a headache, I would like to hear what you are saying. Would you please make a version of your videos without the sound, please?

Which video is the problem? To go back in and redo each and every video would take me many months and I have heard from many people that they like the background drone. But if there is one in particular that is the problem, please let me know. Cheers.

Thank you Bernie..I find myself getting fidgety after a few minutes. and I am trying t get better with that...but I find myself drawn to yin yoga...so I do it about 3 x per week now as opposed to the power I was once doing...thanks wish you had more classes

Fidgety is not bad: it is what it is. The mind wanders, the body moves, we are outside our comfort zone and we are not used to that. We want to change things: to change the sensations or to mentally run away from them. But there is where the change happens: we marinate, with awareness and with acceptance of the urge to move, the urge to fidget. Don't' worry about it; watch it. Investigate it. (Of course, as long as it is not painful.) Good luck!

    Hi Bernie,
thank you for this video. I wonder whats the background sound? I really like it, can you please let me know where you got it?

Hi Lija...I am glad you like the background sounds: not everyone does ;-) The drones were created by my brother, and unfortunately, they are not publicly available. He just does this sort of thing as a hobby. Cheers!
