best movie of the year. i feel sorry for the people that don't get it. Bella isn't crazy or dumb. She's a young brain developing without society interfering or shame. She represents pure humanity stripped of all influence. we only find her crazy because we've been molded since birth by societal standards. it's also great to see her grow as a woman. not that women are different from men in their logic or development, but the degree to which society molds them and limits them is much greater. It shows how men are always attracted to innocence and childlike freedom in a woman, until they don't get to exclusively own her... then they can't handle it.
The men in the film don’t know she has the brain of a child. The audience does so it is equally more creepy. The movie never shows her going through anything real. In real life she would have been taken when she didn’t want to or even physically assaulted and she was never Taught right from wrong. Your arguments make no sense. You. Say on one sense that she has no shame and then shame the men for having no shame. Make that make sense please. People with out social restrictions do what ever they want. So buy your account the men actually showed the no sense of shame by being with someone young. The shame does just work one way. You don’t shame Bella for want to have sex ,but shame the men for having sex with her. 😮
@@theoutabodies5653 sorry, don’t think I can help you when you don’t seem to understand English. you clearly missed the point of my argument. I never said the men should feel shame for their sexuality. I said it was an interesting observation that men are attracted to female freedom until they cannot own it. And also, what do you mean she didn’t go through anything real because in real life, she would’ve been assaulted? So you think women only have real life experiences if they get assaulted? Also, obviously, she was never taught right from wrong. That’s part of society structure that I was referring to. And not inherent concepts, they have to be taught which is why she learns over the course of time as her brain develops. I don’t know what you are having such a problem with.
Children are non judgmental, obsessively curious, want to experience everything and explore , are innocent and they don’t naturally label anything as good or bad. Bella is an adult woman with a CHILDs mind. That is why she behaves the way she does. Once Bella leaves her home and goes out into the world, she is exposed to real life of people, relationships, philosophies, beliefs and books. Bella develops her own set of morals and ideals by treating her experiences an scientific experiment since she was raised by a man who was a scientist and a surgeon. Emma Stone played the character beautifully.
The other young lady who played the "woman infant" was in a Netflix series called Maid, she's a great actress wish we saw more of her in this movie! I didn't think I would enjoy this movie as much as I did
This film is art This film is like a view of the future from the perspective of the Victorian era I know it's based on it's own book inspired Frankenstein but it's probably the best Frankenstein in decades I get a David lynch vibes from this film
The heavy breathing and nervous laughter from you two makes me extremely happy I watched this alone 😂😂😂😂 I wouldn't be able to watch it with someone else
I just came back from seeing this movie in the cinema and it was one of the best cinema experiences ive had. It was disturbing, intriguing and also a dark comedy. The messages, Frankenstein tone, surrealism and overall cinematography and sound design of this movie was impecable. The characters were also so rich and interesting too!! Also, I just knew mark ruffalo from marvel and I got really impressed by his acting here. (I wont even say anything about willem defoe or Emma stone cause their amazing acting was to be expected.) I cant wait for the awards it will recieve. I just really love artistic/different movies since I'm in art school myself. I will DEFINITELY be re watching this movie many times to see the things I missed. I suppose it can be a bit overwhelming to some people in the first watch Fun fact: I went in the cinema totally blind and got really surprised when they went to Portugal, Lisbon (I'm from Portugal and i was sitting in a cinema..in Lisbon lol.)
dont listen to the people who say you talk to much. we're here to watch your reactions, not the movie! unless youre not paying attention to the movie, of course. if missing stuff is an issue, having subtitles can sometimes help you not miss dialouge while you're talking. also, i really like the camera angle. the "on-your-level", sitting around the table with you vibe is great for reactions. i dont see it outside podcasts very often!
You Poor Things! You’ve never seen anything like this before, have you? It’s very reminiscent of Terry Gilliam’s works like “Brazil” and “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”. The score is very much like a broken child’s music box or toy, like Bella is broken but continues to go on. My favorite character is Mark Ruffalo. Not because he is one of the sexiest men on earth, but he has amazing talent. This was his 5th Oscar nomination without a win. I hope he wins next time. They wrapped principle photography two and a half years ago. That how long it took for the Director to get the visuals and production design just the way he wanted them. He also directed, “The Favoutite”, which also won Olivia Coleman a Best Actress Oscar. Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz we both nominated for Best Supporting Actress, but both had won an Oscar before so they canceled each other out. The Director is Greek.
I love this movie and I absolutely enjoyed y'all's reactions and commentary. I look forward to watching more of your content!
Thank you!! 🙏
“I feel this conversation has become circular” is my _new favorite_ way to tell people to be quiet or end an argument. 😊

Great points, it is amazing to see her bluntly describe Ruffalo’s characters actions and intentions where she’s actually learning

I thought the dance scene summed it up perfectly. Bella’s innate sense of dancing freely and carelessly as Duncan tries to control her.
It's a book adaptation. The director is Greek and Emma Stone is actually producer on the film
Didn’t realize that. Thanks for sharing!

It catches you by surprise. That's for sure!
Did you know that she's also the daughter of Andie Macdowell lol

Yes! Very cool film
The heavy breathing and nervous laughter from you two makes me extremely happy I watched this alone 😂😂😂😂 I wouldn't be able to watch it with someone else
It was definitely uncomfortable at times, but still a fun viewing experience 😂

Yes, it gets you by surprise but really pulls you in!
This move is not for everyone but I liked it haha.
We did too 🙌
The writing and dialog is really good. It reminds me of Quentin Tarantino's writing style.

Thank you for the compliment!
Also, the score is amazing
Agreed!
A popular theory is that Godwin is Frankenstein’s Monster ( when he recounts the horrors inflicted on him ).
Ahh that would make sense.
Mark was one of my fave parts in this movie. He was so funny. This one of my favorite movies since watching
He was hilarious!
It definitely is funny how the music is so terribly out of tune when Duncan first presents himself🤭
Haha that was a nice touch
I'm glad someone else pick up Ex Machina vibes. I thought I was the only one
Haha great minds think alike 🙌
It also shares the theme of Elf….
I’m sure you guys get this a lot but you both are so handsome 😍😍
😂 Appreciate the compliment!
Your sensor missed on there lol 🤣
The director is Greek
Yes he is! thank you. We looked it up in our analysis

Hairy Beaver Alarm at 19:33 !🦦
cute setup!
Thank you!
“Mentally underdeveloped”
You're wrong. The director is Greek.
Yes he is 🙌
I'm not a fan of this film
"Funky and weird" and so contrived
It’s not for everyone
Definitely not for everyone haha
Probably the first movie I disliked in a long time, it was very uncomfortable to watch…not for me.
It’s definitely not for everybody.
okay? just go watch mission impossible or something
Sometimes comfort is not the point of a movie.
Very very uncomfortable. The fact that she was basically a child..
@@junenye //😂😂....That argument is so dumb to dislike this marvelous movie
