Nice to stumble across someone else whose realised the joy of irregulars 2mm. Beware it gets bad when you realise Waterloo , Gettysburg and so many of the biggest historical battles are so easy to do in 2mm and they are so cheap.
Thanks for these videos, I have just started to Franco-Prussian Armies in 2mm from Irregular Miniatures and you have given me some great ideas. Also I hit that subscribe and like button.
Your "Slang" sounds like Roald Dahl to me. Pure imagination. I'd use "cacky pants" with caution. I'm confident that to some that would be expression meaning "soiled trousers" ... Ah, fun times...
Jon, Another excellent video! I know that I'm a little late to the game. Im getting ready to order a few 6mm fantasy armies from Irregular Miniatures and I was wondering where you get the square mounting bases. I've been devouring your Chainmail series. Such great stuff!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
I get them from Amazon. Look for the one-inch square or round crafting bases. You can get like 200 for eight bucks a bag. Four cents each is cheaper than washers in many cases.
At thirty dollars Australian for two armies including postage, it has been pretty hard to say no to my increasing obsessions with the Dark and Early Modern periods bookending the Middle Ages (though I’ve plenty in other scales for other times)...so I kind of haven’t :P Where is a stable non globecorp place I can diarise my findings?
Again, could you please do a painting video from start to finish including having. Do you paint your mini's on the base or base them later. Do you recommend 2mm or 3mm. Thanks
Plain white glue. It's what the Brits call PVC glue, and here stateside it goes by the brand name Elmer's. Once you've got the figures painted you can snap them off with an X-Acto knife and glue them to their final base.

You hit the trifecta!
Thank you for your service.
Have you thought of using emery boards as basing material ? It comes ready textured and just needs a dry brush to colour

I'm really impressed with the way you painted the trousers

This is an old comment, but...yes. I'll try to remember to do that when I paint up my Spanish Civil War armies.
How did you mount the blocks to those sticks?

It's probably time to order from irregular again. Wonderful manufacturers, great to deal with and their products arrive wrapped in newspaper.
