He let a lady and her son live, when she told him that her son had been through enough trauma with his father's death. In fact he was "nice" to her, gave her her clothes to cover herself up so her son won't see her naked and loosened the tights he used to tie her hands together when she told him it was very tight and hurt her wrists. Also he once said "I gave up on love and happiness a long time ago" in an interview. He wouldn't say something like that if he wasn't capable of feeling love or happy. Also psychopaths tend to maintain normal-looking lives, jobs etc. Ted Bundy is the perfect example of a psychopath. He had normal jobs, relationships, a home, he lived like a normal person. Ramirez on the other hand, never had a healthy lifestyle. Long story short, we tend to call everyone who's done a heinous deed a psychopath but sometimes it's a lot more complicated than that. I believe Ramirez had sociopathic tendencies due to his traumatic upbringing and drug abuse and if he was growing up in a better environment, he would be a different person.

I think people forget that serial killers are capable of lying. “I don’t care about myself” is such a tear-jerking statement… that he has said in a voice smooth like velvet, and with a shy, charming smile. He had an amazing smile! Made him go from sinister-looking demon to guy next door who brightens the room and everyone's hearts with his smile. Made me realize how rare it is to find vids or pics of him smiling like this. I only know of this one. In all other photos and videos, he just gives that mischievous smirk. His top teeth weren't so bad. His bottom ones were almost all gone, lol.
I met Richard when I was 17 at the LA County Jail. Some months later I snuck a camera in and took his picture. He didn't smile so I said C'mon Rick, smile. Well he did, a shy little smile. Unfortunately the flash went off that time and the guards saw. They came out and literally ripped the film out of the camera and told me I was banned from the jail. Richard saw all of this and as the guard came to take him back to his cell, Richard punched him in the face! One punch and the guard was knocked out cold. It was so cool. Richard was pissed. I was banned but snuck back in a few months later. To get to the point, yeah there are no photos of him smiling. He had a great smile though and a hearty laugh. I sure do miss him. I grew up and distanced myself, afraid that people would find out. He died and I didn't get to say goodbye. Rick had a hell of a wit! I have never met someone so witty!

I knew RR in person. Visited him in Prison in San Quentin when he was on death row, talked to him on the phone and was pen pals with him for a few years. He used to send me poems and drawings. He was not innocent, but he did not do all that they said he did. He was beautiful. He's not a horrible person.
He did evil and horrible things that are unforgivable. The only thing I can say is that he never deserved to be abused as a child. Nobody does. But that isn't an excuse to kill or to be violent right back. Richard said it himself...he is to blame. Not society. Not abuse. Himself.
I'm glad Richard took responsibility for his actions and didn't blame anyone for it but society and abuse are why he turned out the way he did, he suffered a terrible childhood.
Really sad story, if to go deep and investigate. Looks like he later regretted having ruined his life this way, but because of his adolescent-like desire to look tough, always showed the opposite. He was aware that the notoriety was all he had left, so he did his best to sustain the image, in order not to make his life completely useless. I believe that those murders were committed for more than one person. There was this man who went to San Quentin many years ago in his 19 years old. He was the youngest inmate on death row, a new "fish". Other inmates wanted to hurt him and he would get killed but there was ONE inmate who PROTECTED him and taught him how to survive in prison. This inmate was Richard Ramirez! I don't know why Richard played the Night Stalker role... Was he threatened? I don't know and he was not allowed to speak his mind...... For me, from what I examined about this case, this "Night Stalker" story is all messed up. And not only this story but other serial killers stories also. And other types of criminals... I met Richard when I was 17 at the LA County Jail. Some months later I snuck a camera in and took his picture. He didn't smile so I said C'mon Rick, smile. Well he did, a shy little smile. Unfortunately the flash went off that time and the guards saw. They came out and literally ripped the film out of the camera and told me I was banned from the jail. Richard saw all of this and as the guard came to take him back to his cell, Richard punched him in the face! One punch and the guard was knocked out cold. It was so cool. Richard was pissed. I was banned but snuck back in a few months later. To get to the point, yeah there are no photos of him smiling. He had a great smile though and a hearty laugh. I sure do miss him. I grew up and distanced myself, afraid that people would find out. He died and I didn't get to say goodbye. Rick had a hell of a wit! I have never met someone so witty!

I knew RR in person. Visited him in Prison in San Quentin when he was on death row, talked to him on the phone and was pen pals with him for a few years. He used to send me poems and drawings. He was not innocent, but he did not do all that they said he did. He was beautiful. He's not a horrible person.

There was this man who went to San Quentin many years ago in his 19 years old. He was the youngest inmate on death row, a new "fish". Other inmates wanted to hurt him and he would get killed but there was ONE inmate who PROTECTED him and taught him how to survive in prison. This inmate was Richard Ramirez!
