This episode was voiced by one guy.
The simple Rick voiceover was a different guy... They credit him but they don't credit the voice of Rick and Morty.. It's a joke the creators did
The only exception was the narrator of the Simple Rick commercial which was Sam Elliot
Also young Beth.
@@Acesarecool4269 It wasn't Sam Elliot. It was Jeff B. Davis channeling Sam Elliot.
No, there were at least 3 other people doing at least one voice. Simple Rick narrator, baby Beth and the robot dog.
This has to be the densest Rick & Morty episode.....and it's amazing.
Crulex
It’s so dense, every single image has so many things going on...
Agreed
This was the best episode
This is hands down my favorite episode of all Rick and Morty, the writing in this episode with all the different stories happening and the voice acting skill to be talking to yourself the whole time for this ep was incredible!
Kris Waite finally somebody who gets why I like this episode so much and think it’s amazing. Yes the *insert spoiler here* moment was awesome but the sub stories are amazing!
Kris Waite really? I actually hate this episode.
Why do you hate it? Just curious.
Kris Waite yv
Slapfacegamer why tho? This one of their best.
To those of you wondering why they didn't have as big a reaction to the evil Morty reveal, remember that it's only been about 4 months since they saw the previous evil Morty episode so it's still relatively fresh, whereas regular viewers had to wait 3 AND A HALF YEARS between the two episodes. It was a long callback.
This was the first R&M episode that they reacted to since after their winter break. R&M 3x6 was recorded on December 20th, so they were getting back into the swing of things and had a bunch of other shows to record that day.
i think they figured it out beforehand
I call bullshit on that. I began watching Rick and Morty last October and I watch the whole thing in 3 weeks and I indeed was super impressed by the overall development of the episode. Although I had already figured out that it was Evil Morty mid-episode, I still got the chills when the reveal was confirmed and hen that errie song came out.
Leonardo Nambo me too! I loved it
berserker23 they’re inconsistent. Nice try though.
Best fucking episode of the series. Ive been waiting for this.
lazyman1128 SAME
no this is legit the best one
I hope the next show that replaces Rick and Morty timeslot is Justice League cartoon.
I don't like this one. Doesn't make any sense for the smartest man in the universe to live in such a fucked up society when they even have the choice not to.
The social critic part is also weird since Ricks are obviously way smarter than Morties so I don't get what they're trying to imply here...
Yesss
For those that didn't catch it, the episode started with Mortys killing Mortys, then Ricks killing Mortys, then Ricks killing Ricks, and finally with (evil) Morty killing Ricks.
Omg I never noticed that.
@@richdadsummit7557 Probably because it's not relevant, important or intended...
@@_booth7992 It was probably intended.
@@_booth7992 definitely intended my dude, what you talking about
_ Booth do you know who Dan Harmon is???? Everything is intended
They eat the cookies because simple Rick has achieved what what they never will be able to achieve: happiness. They need to drain his chemicals because it is forever out of their reach. The ultimate form of jealousy.
AND DARK
Not so much jealousy, but Genius, Since they can have it infinitly without giving up on their toxic yet incredibly powerfull lifes
Jeeze Christ...

The creators said this episode was written up before "when the world couldn't not be viewed politically" and was just an exercise to see if they could make an episode about the citadel interesting, I think they did a hell of a job
Atharv Sankholkar Not sure what you want me to explain but link the quote here th-cam.com/video/FU0PrkjZ3IM/w-d-xo.html
bull fucking shit. politics has existed since human language has, and the themes of 3x7 are simply not apolitical.
What the fuck does that mean?
There has never been a time where the world could be viewed at non-politically.
@@chrisdawson1776 And therefore there has always been a time it could be viewed non-politically. Because not giving a damn is not a political perspective.
Evil Morty was way back in episode 10 of season 1. When I first watched the episode, I didn't pick up that it was him until the scene where Campaign Manager Morty got sent through the air lock.
Could anyone point out the hints that were dropped during the episode?
Alexander De Jong Detective Rick giving CM Morty the files at the bar, "President" Morty saying he doesn't know his original reality and the air lock scene.
See, I binge watched the show to catch up with Rick and Morty by about the halfway point in season 3 so Evil Morty was still kind of fresh in my mind and I was able to figure out it was Evil Morty when PI Rick gave the campaign manager the photos.
Big one is the song at the end, same song as his first appearance
I binged so he was fresh in my mind, but I could see a large gap could lead to it being missed.
Evil Morty utilized all the Mortys he controlled in the past as refugee crisis in the citadel, fueled discontent on all sides, came as the great equalizer and took over the citadel into an authoritarian regime.
RickdiculousLi he also took advantage of Rick Sanchez C-137’s disassembly of the previous government.
The great Ozymandias move
"Did i gragitate this time yet?"
Zak Rosenfeld 😂
Zak Rosenfeld Anything's possible, Tall Morty.
This was my year book quote😂😂😂
i said this to my teacher
HUGE theory that rick and morty are the same person because of this
*I wish incest porn had a more mainstream appeal... for a friend of mine*
junior20091009 He had a picture of Summer in his locker........ For a friend of his, obviously.
Game of Thrones.
Gets a lot creepier when you realise summer has red hair and looks similar to Jessica
I'm going to call him Game of Thrones Morty from now on.
Gets even creepier when you realize that all of his friends are other mortys
Is it me or does Evil morties theme song seem to send chills down my spine every time I hear it?
The melody is based on a Chopin Nocturne. Can't remember the opus number. Interesting tidbit.
@@jamesmays9814 It's called For the damaged Coda but I guess it could be based off a nocturne
@@tatertatertatertatertater Yes, the melody of For the Damaged Coda is based off of Chopin's Nocturne Opus 55 Number 1.
@@jamesmays9814 Cool

Idk why but I get chills every time I watch the ending of this episode. I really hope they pay off that story line of Evil Morty
the ending music give chills
th-cam.com/video/4Js-XbNj6Tk/w-d-xo.html
I just hope they don't go with what they had in season 4
They did😁
@@arafat9828 yeah, man. They did❤😂
Good news
I'm kind of shocked they only had 5 or so minutes of discussion on this episode
cbriggs120195 they always have short discussions for rick and morty
Just a man trying to learn Mostly every reaction is at least 20 mins, especially from the last ten or so. You'd think there would be more to discuss with this episode especially. I don't mind too much I guess cause they didn't have much to write being that they seemed super into this episode
@cbriggs120195 This was also the first R&M episode that they recorded after their winter break. R&M 3x6 was recorded and uploaded for me to edit on December 20th, so they were just getting back into the swing of things.
yea wtf? i dont even know if i wanna watch the video? Did they even like the episode?
Also "they always have short discussions" they have had 10min+ discussion to boring episodes.. this episode has alot of things to discuss and compare to real life scenarios
Evil Morty rap on TH-cam
Its also like Tales of Ba Sing Se
Ohhh Avatar feels....
Or Tales From The Borderlands
2 of my favorite shows ever
One of the creepiest episodes of Avatar the last airbender.

fun fact, BlindWave released Rick and Morty s1e10 reaction (with evil morty reveal) same day that this episode went live
Валентин Жарков
Yup I remember watching their reaction soon after I finished this episode.
that simple memory of Blindwave watching that episode has turned into Simple Blindwave's , capturing awesome Rick and Morty moment to completion, come home to Blindwave on youtube!
“I want a taser button on my car!”
“No.”
“ *Yes.* “
The pacing of this is incredible, about 4 stories happening simultaneously, without any one going to too long or too short of a stretch.
this is the most serious episode of Rick and Morty and Im kinda disappointed in their reaction and in their discussion. I taught they would like it more.
Those people over react for views. That's it.
Not everyone is gonna go "NANI!?"...
beastmasterbg I wish they dove deeper onto the social commentary
Man-Swine
I had the same reaction as a lot of reactors and I wasn't even being recorded.
cory hawks yeah but blind wave is different they analyze every episode and they understand the structure of the show and they make smart predictions. That's why they guessed it was evil morty and when they found out they were right they weren't like "Oh shit. ahhhhh I can't believe this". They were like "i knew it".
7:23 Should've aimed for the head......
10:27 * snaps fingers*
A metaphor? I think so.
Justin was pretty much talking to himself in this episode
The amount of Genius writing and Epicness in just 20 minutes of this episode is what Many Shows and Movies have never been able to achieve in their whole lifetime , And that Last Reveal , holy damn , one of the BEST ENDINGS OF ALL TIME 👏😱👏🔥🔥
I hope season 4 has an episode where "the one true Morty" and "Evil Morty" potentially face-off.
Calvin is drinking Irn Bru, Scottish people represent!
Calum Watson Laing IKR
Irn Bru? I see you are a man of culture as well.
I remembered watching this episode "Ricklantis Mixup" while Blindawave just uploaded "Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind" Season 1 of episode 10, the first apperance of Evil Morty but it was in patreon.
Wish I could have seen and hear the full evil morty song/scene in this video. oh well, MERMAID PUSS!
When they first listed all the episode titles for season 3 this was originally called tales from the citadel, I had wondered why they changed the name.
To fool the viewers into thinking it had something to do with Rick and Atlantia
@@donutlovingwerewolf8837 I too got fooled enough before watching this ep
My favorite episode, so well done, it could even be a full movie! Also, that Mass Effect feel when I see ''Tales from the Citadel'' title!
Best episode of the show so far!
YES
To this day it's still THE best
I never really thought about it, but Slick's wish came true.
Evil Morty is clearly the original Morty
you guys need to watch mob psycho 100 when you finish rick and morty. I'ts made by the same guy as one punch man
This is when they should watch theory videos about evil Morty being our Ricks original Morty.
Cristian Pelaez they dont like film theory. They watched one and just thought it was shit
13:49 It's the blender dimension
The Bender dimension ?
@Summer Rose no shame
I almost cried when evil morty took over that was crazy the plot was crazy this has to be my favorite episode
This episode is perfection
That whole end scene never fails to give me chills. The music in this series is so on point.
This episode cracks me up because I imagine Justin Rolland voicing this entire episode by himself. He’s just talking to himself all day 😂
All i care about this episode is Calvin with Irn Bru LEGEND 🏴🏴🏴
2:32 Driving through Black Friday
And people say Season 3 was weak... it had so many great episodes. And I think this is the best of the whole series. Holy shit... I get shivers every time I watch this.
The pilot, this episode and the finale are all so great
I'm a simple man. I see someone drinking Irn Bru, I Like.
this is still by far the best episode of rick and morty
2021 and it's still the best episode of the series
10:38 when I saw those flag goes down I was like "WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! ITS EVIL MORTY!!" (When I saw the file of him in it) "I KNEW IT!! THEY DIDN'T LISTEN TO THAT MORTY!!"
You didn't notice when the music hit?
Guys, this might a false theory, but I think Small Ri- Tall Morty is actually Evil Morty's True Rick
Replace every instance of the word Morty in this show with the N word and you’ve got a good idea of what they are making fun of
Overwatch “honor and glory”? Just maybe?
Easily my favourite episode of the whole series
I like how he immediately knew he was evil morty
Best episode in the series so far, from Blonde Redheads "For the damaged coda" soundtrack announcing Evil Morty to the epic "come home to the taste of shattering the grand illusion" wafer tagline.....there's more layers to the "Ricklantis mixup" episode than an Inception sequel. well done!
Always come back to this reaction, bc this episode was so damn CHILLING
"Did i graditate this time yet?"
Anything is possible, Tall Morty.
yes tall morty
yes...
Feels bad that we can’t see them go to Atlantis. But this episode is the best so far. My favourite,my jam. I would like to see more Evil Morty. This series is brilliant!! Finally a series where i can learn science and having fun like crazy psycho!! I WANT SEASON 4 NAWW
Edit : oh btw good deal. I would rather watch Evil Morty stuff or evil stuff about rick and morty i don’t know what i am saying but anyways thats a good deal. I don’t really want to watch the Atlantis. It might be boring or just weird mermaids looks like monster or sex stuff. And again, good deal.
Now that's how you subvert expectations.
With time. Viewers that waited years for Evil Morty's reappearance didn't catch on because it had been so long. Viewers on Netflix, like myself, caught on the moment we saw a Morty running a campaign.
Who was the Rick that survived the blender dimension told others about it
12:12 It's also like the Tales of Ba Sing Se from Avatar: The Last Airbender, where it goes through a bunch of short sidestories with each of the characters.
Idk why this didn't get the finales name, The Richurian Mortidate or something close to that. It would've been a better finale as an episode placement compared to the actual finale.
react to Gravity Falls s 1 and 2 if u love this youll love Gaviity Falls
Your drinking Iron Bru??? Scotland number one drink
Best drink ever
Guys I’m kind of surprised by your reaction, but I guess that’s mainly because you didn’t expect it to be like that at all. Every time I watch this episode I get mind blown by how many themes and plot lines they have included in only those 20 minutes. And I believe it deserves its own analysis video. Its criticism to the Educational system and its subtle comparison to how industrial factories work, which within it is another critisizm to society’s “labelling” which leads to self fulfilling prohphecies, and you can notice that just in the speech. Let alone the rest of the episode.. It’s critisizm to the political system, the power of rhetoric which is similar to Shakespeare’s Julius Cesar, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.. The police and just everything else. I’m not trying to be that “one” Rick and Morty fan but this episode is beyond brilliant.
This episode over any makes me hate the fact they can only show half the episode.
The episode was brilliant the Rick's represented how white people are portrayed and the Mortys represent how black people are portrayed in society
Gotta admit, the youtube comment section seriously overhyped this episode... I really like it, but jesus christ people hyping it like it's some next lvl shit, lol. Really ruined it for me.( Still think it's a great episode, though).
I mean that new president morty is the evil morty from season 1
YES! Been waiting for this episode for you guys. I was having a somewhat shitty day and this put a little ray of happiness in there.
It is true though, this episode was like, the definition of what makes this show so good and so entertaining.
Best episode for me in all 3 seasons!
yes! I was waiting for this episode! in my opunion the best episode of the series! (and gave pocket mortys a lot of cool mortys lol)
“I wish incest porn had a more main appeal for a friend of mine”
Guess he got his wish with the whole “Step Brother” meme
last week i read stuff like eric is on holiday. please patreons tell me that he's here for morty's mind blowers (my favorite episode)
Greatest episode of the season (besides ep 1) with so many story lines and you guys didn’t really comment or review it much.
I've been waiting for you guys to react to this episode for the longest. I love this episode.
Holy shit I just noticed your dude is drinking IRN BRU! YAS!
The first mention of the central finite curve, who would've known
I'm the only one this episode reminds of the wire
?
just me, ok
To be fair, Simple Rick's wafers are made by giving a man a complete and constant state of love and affection for his daughter. Then the wafer passes that feeling of love on to everyone else, not really evil, maybe unethical because he is robbed of a real life... but real life sucks, he lives in a better reality than everyone else and makes other people happy.
I would LOVE to know when or if, there would be another series of the show.!.. Anyone.??btw, I'm an old fuck, (55), but I love that show.!
explosivefreak666 It’s airing right now (began November 10 and it’s three out of five episodes in for Season 4 this year. Five more should be released later before the season’s end.
Yep, I saw 2 of them allready on YT, but they're takin' down real fast.! Can't wait for the others.!
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite episode of the series!
this episode has a theory video going around in youtube, you can say it is the equivalent to G.O.T R + L = J
Honestly this episode felt like a whole movie for some reason
TWO AWESOME EASTER EGGS: 1. when the morty jumped into the garbage dump it was actually the blender dimension lol and #2 (this one is crazy) evil morty HIRED that undercover rick to give campaign morty those papers telling him it was actually evil morty in HOPES that he would try to assasinate him(which he did) and in turn giving evil morty a few more sympathy votes! in the end when campain morty is about to get blown into space you hear the ricks say the election was almost close enough to trigger a recount. evil mortys plan worked. MIND BLOWN. YOUR WELCOME
"Wanna see how I paint a wall?!" One of my favorite lines in the whole show.
the time when rick and morty was a goat show!
I miss that time
This isn't just easily the best Rick and Morty episode (though it obviously is), this is arguably one of the best episodes of any show in television history. The depth, the societal allegory drawn between this fictional world and our real one...it's truly incredible.
I used to think that when i was younger and didn't have a lot of pop culture referances. The show has many inspirstions,it's not that original, for example the morty cop story is based on the movie "training day" and so on.
Still,it was an amazing show up until this point, maybe the best animated series. But only until this point, unfortunately
1:22 "So we're not gonna follow the Atlantis trip?". I thought the same when I first saw that episode. But then I witnessed the best episode so far
Thumbs up if you want Blind Wave to react to Bojack Horseman after Rick and Morty!
That warriors song at the start hooked me in....why they didn't comment on that i don't know
5:50, Detective Calvin, meet your new partner... Detective Eric.
Movie Trailer VO: "Detective Calvin, a loose cannon whose determination gets results. Detective Eric, a half-deaf genius whose by the books demeanor makes him the ideal officer. When they team up, they'll save this town, if they don't kill each other first."
I'm not sure if you noticed, but the song that played when all the people were sent into space was the same song that played when Evil Morty was originally introduced.
The BEST episode of the series.
Is that a bottle of Irn Bru on the desk???
AC Media & Film aye
I was about to ask the same question.
I haven't finished the whole show yet, but this is hands-down my favourite episode so far. Incredible
This was my favorite episode. Really dense. GoT levels of intricate plot-lines.
Tis episode is my jam.
And now the citadel Rick know which dimension their destroyer is in.
I get goosebumps everytime I see this episode
i love seeing people’s reactions to the ‘policeman’s ball black teenager’ joke. some ppl too sensitive. i’m black and i died of laughter 🤣🤣
Words can't explain how long i've been waiting for this
the L.A mixup - for non-Patreons who are worried about Eric not in the reaction for this episode!
I have to wonder if that joke made by the glasses clad Morty about 'wishing incest porn had a more mainstream appeal' was a jab at the Gravity Falls fandom. Lol
