I'm assuming William H. Macy either meant mundanity (the quality of being dull) or mendacity (untruthfulness). What they do appears glamorous after editing but the process is the opposite (either dull or untruthful). Either works, though the untruthful one seems to fit the context best (what you see is not how it actually is).

I feel you. Within a couple of seasons, i just had to fast forward past Frank scenes. Great acting but i couldn't stand the character.
