Make a test save before you make any progress and then reset to make sure the battery is still fresh. If it stays, you're golden. If it's deleted, the 3DS has a port of it. If you're asking your ability to transfer a file back and forth between GB and GBC, the only thing disabled on the GBC is the Color Dungeon

Its a speedrun trick called super jumping. By clipping a bit into a way, jumping, the slashing your sword or shooting an arrow, it will allow you to jump over things.
2 years late but speedrunners literally spent thousands of hours discovering bugs and glitches to get past locked doors, gaps, etc in games, just to save time. In older games they're obviously neve gonna get fixed either, which is why most speedrunners never use newer remakes/'remastered' versions of games that usually don't have these kinds of bugs.
