It is worth noting if there is an interceptor with fast lock activating your mwd before you cloak gives a tackler that split second he needs to catch you. Been using this trick for years ;)
these days i would suggest selecting to overheat the rack for your micro. The Occator now gets an insane bonus for that. Also fitting 3 stabs and only nanos so if they do get lock they will either have to dps to kill in about 8 secs or bump you.
By the way you also want to use your directional scanner to check the gate you are warping to first..Sometimes people will camp with smartbombs to pop you while you are warping in. I have a guy who does this alot along my usual supply routs.
Actually I might have to start using this trick. I harvest wormhole gasses for money and so far I have been using cloaky transports for my hauling needs. If I could get an industrial to do the job I could make fewer trips.
wiki.eveuniversity.org/Occator "...has a fairly small cargohold, but instead has a 50,000 m³ Fleet Hangar, which can carry anything including assembled ships. The Fleet Hangar size is increased by the Transport Ships skill to 62,500 m³ (at level 5). Notably, Transport Ships IV gives 60,000 m³ and allows for transporting 3 packaged industrial ships, 4 battlecruisers or 6 cruisers (at 20,000 m³, 15,000 m³ or 10,000 m³ per hull respectively)." Great info for the Microwarp cloak trick. That said you should not need to use the cargo modules, when you have 50Km3 - 62Km3 in the fleet hanger.
You just need to be within 2000m of a can to be decloaked/prevented from cloaking. That includes the entire travel while aligning or burning back to the gate, too.
Never fit nanofibers, for they reduce your mass and make you take longer time until you enter warp. ONLY I-stabs if you are concerned about entering warp quickly. Nanos are used if you plan to be more agile and faster for combat.
In other words, you don't appreciate having to think up new ways to gank when people outsmart you. You're an absolute genius, you are. A genius, victimized by those cheating carebears and their sneaky adapting.
This scenario is typically more common around trade hubs/high population areas than in bottlenecks but yes I'll add the point that there are some situations where you would be better off fitting your ship towards trying to survive attacks rather than trying to prevent them.. but you have to know the landscape, which is why scouts are also an invaluable tool to have at your figurative.. and sometimes literal disposal lol (think outside the box, if for example, you're in high sec and you just HAVE to carry that trillion isk golden trinket through some particular gate that you are concerned you might get killed trying to go through.. about 1-2 minutes before your hauler goes through have a -sec character or one you dont mind going criminal with in the other system, hop in a rookie ship and warp to the gate your hauler is about to go through, and (with your safety set to red obviously) shoot it.. yes shoot it. concord will spawn and kill your ship, then dock up your pod and while it wont negate all potential damage done to you having them on grid vs not on grid can sometimes mean the difference between you being able to tank what we throw at you and you waking up in station without a ship. (I definitely shouldn't be telling you this but if you're reading this far down a decade old comment thread hey you deserve it lol)
i told my corp members about this and i was fobed off but me and my brother did this as a rule and i have only been poped when i stammered on the cloak my bro sat at the gate and tryed to target me in a small ship that had a fast lock time and he was only able to lock me when i forgot the order and panicked even he never beleaved me till he seen it for him self he now uses this teqnique him self i think i could go thrue low sec my self using this teqnique im in a mamoth by the way thanks a lot
Hey Buddy, thanks for the guide, I have a following problem when using your method, I am cloacked and the warp meter shows warping at half of the bar, and at that moment I uncloack and at about 75% of the meter it reloads the warping. So I am visible from 50-75% of the warping.... till it shots off, any ideas why? or is that normal/safe?
On the other hand you could just get a cov ops hauler and cut out the whole MWD, less chance of you getting locked then due to raised sig of it been active
What you mean by "really fast" has to be within a VERY precise parameter. An align time of 1.99 seconds or less makes you almost untouchable (or to put it this way.. 98% of the time you will be fine, like I've never been caught nor do I know anyone who has.. but i know someone who knows someone who has.. that kinda thing lol) IMPORTANT: This does not make you immune to Smartbombs.. So no Rancer for you lol. Also, while it is "technically" possible to have a ship with a
i tried this doesnt work i go to wrap and it wont let me wrap while cloaked so i have to drop it before i can and when i do there is still a delay i before it lets i jump...
Your inertial stabilizers are actually a bit of a hindrance in lowsec. They increase your sig making it faster to lock you and thier agility bonus does not actually help you. Warping from being stationary does not actually involve turning but rather acceleration. You are better off with cargp expanders which reduce max speed without hindering acceleration to reach warp faster.
How do you blow by a warp indicator in low sec? Personally I drop a micro nuke missile on both the Indicator and the ship with one shot and take off. Transport should be allow to have 8 gun.
you mentioned that nobody would be able to lock you. Well, that is not right. The most dangerous moment is when you undock the station. Then it is not always easy to cloak and warp off. You NEED WC-stabs on this ship. I fly this type of fit with a Sigil. Never lost it, and got locked and shot at multiple times. And many frigates are fitted to instalock you. The cloak/MWD trick is not 100% bulletproof.
Hello, Dude! Unfortunatelly NOW the Microwarpdrive and the Cloacking Device no more working immediatelly. It's very poor, but it's our real. But anyway thank you for your knowledge.
Its never that simple lol, but coming from someone who's literally scouted for Kusion's freighter ganking fleet in Uedama, thankfully 90% of the time if you die it is because of a mistake with how your ship was fitted or you were doing something particularly dangerous like auto-piloting.
risky risky fit. 3 T2 I-stabs are enough for this ship. the other slots you should use for WC-Stabs. in the mids you should have a MWD and as much of a shield buffer tank possible. as rigs you would probably need 1-2 rigs to increase your Powergrid and 1 nozzle rig would help. in the highs you just need a cloak. The purpose of this ship is not to have cargo expanders or cargo rigs. This ship is not about transporting cheap junk around but to have a pseudo blockade runner. Never lost my sigil.
Poor setup for doing this.... the inertial stabs each balloon your sig radius on an already large ship approx 9% then the mwd adds another 500 %, Anything on the gate is gonna decloak you easily and Grab you..... Get a Blockade runner..
Lucky, the only way to get caught is by a buffer fit cruiser class ship that is being remotely sensor boosted or something smaller that ends up being too small to take any damage from the gate guns to begin with. I don't fit those nano and sabs at all to begin with. I just go with the cloak, micro, and cargo expanders full time.
Wow, if thats what you think you need to revisit the dev blogs and actually read the game mechanics, because you definitely dont understand them ... the ten second cycle time from your MWD... is way to long for warp time You will be decloaked in nullsec or Empire .. And if you dont think so Your Just another pod limping home..
***** Well, It's just that I'm not used to hearing cubic meters being called m3 since for me and everyone else I know reading m3 is the same as reading cubic or cubic meters.
Stupid video, do not follow this guide otherwise you will be killed in lowsec or especially in null anytime when faced 1 player with straight hands or 2+ with claws i!!!!!!! 1 - any fast ship like interceptor/sabre can decloak you if bumped while you 10 sec align then scram and kill or 2 - insta-lock t3 destroyers and interceptors will lock you instantly if you face them on the gate, they lock you in 1 sec without mvd, and if you press mvd you are locked even faster best way to be safe - HAVE CLOAK SCOUT SHIP friend/alt and jump with it through the gate before your transport do, if you see a camp - dont' go there and take another route!
It is worth noting if there is an interceptor with fast lock activating your mwd before you cloak gives a tackler that split second he needs to catch you. Been using this trick for years ;)
BuRntCircuItz With all those inertia stabilizers it would be even easier.
Yea you gotta change it up, mwd/cloak for speed.. cloak/mwd for safety.
Great video clip sir,I've practised and it works very well in my excellent Crane!
these days i would suggest selecting to overheat the rack for your micro. The Occator now gets an insane bonus for that. Also fitting 3 stabs and only nanos so if they do get lock they will either have to dps to kill in about 8 secs or bump you.
I wonder how much of this series of cloak and microwarp drive clicks is still relevant after all these years?
still used to this day
For the record, you are for sure no longer safe around the trade hubs, JITA in particular... that's why I'm here watching this lol
Thanks so much. I knew there had to be a way to setup my PI in lowsec.
You don't mention the T2 cloak, which is a must
wiki.eveuniversity.org/Occator "...has a fairly small cargohold, but instead has a 50,000 m³ Fleet Hangar, which can carry anything including assembled ships. As an ex-pirate who lived in low-sec for two years, I approve of this.
You just need to be within 2000m of a can to be decloaked/prevented from cloaking. That includes the entire travel while aligning or burning back to the gate, too.
Thanks for this video. Good for me just trying to buy a blockade runner, I need to know basics as well.
I very much appreciate the lesson. If you could please let me know if this would work with an Orca and how. new guy here...
Never fit nanofibers, for they reduce your mass and make you take longer time until you enter warp. ONLY I-stabs if you are concerned about entering warp quickly. Nanos are used if you plan to be more agile and faster for combat.
Shield Extenders increase your signature radius, thus making you easier to lock. Better fit an ECM Burst, it can save you, the Extender won't.
In other words, you don't appreciate having to think up new ways to gank when people outsmart you.
You're an absolute genius, you are. A genius, victimized by those cheating carebears and their sneaky adapting.
Thanks for putting this up!
I would like to see you do this in low sec while there are actually enemies in the area.
do inertia stabs and nanos have stacking penalties? If so, then wouldn't 3 inertias and 0 nanos be optimal?
what do you do when you come into a gate spammed with jet cans/cargo containers which prevent the cloak?
Does this work for exploration ships that have decent speed and can just jump to other gates really fast?
What you mean by "really fast" has to be within a VERY precise parameter. An align time of 1.99 seconds or less makes you almost untouchable (or to put it this way.. 98% of the time you will be fine, like I've never been caught nor do I know anyone who has.. but i know someone who knows someone who has.. that kinda thing lol) IMPORTANT: This does not make you immune to Smartbombs.. Highly effective!
but what if its hot, then its hard to not break a swet
what if you get instalocked by something like a vni
Your align time is not fast enough. What size MWD are you using?
Okay so my align speed should be 10 seconds, how do I measure my align speed?
Awesome video. Love the quality. Learned a ton.
Exremely usefull video!
So you fly around in a pod and indy collectively worth as much as a shiny carrier or a bog standard dreadnought to dodge navitas? LOL
wil afterburner work the same?
does this method protect against SEBO locks and scrams ?
+Ian Logan Exactly. I've been trying to tell people this and they just don't get it. An instant lock tackle who is on their game is going to get you.
what is the keyboard shortcut for mwd and cloak?
I move my mwd to the right of my cloak so its f1 and f2 respectively.
Your inertial stabilizers are actually a bit of a hindrance in lowsec. They increase your sig making it faster to lock you and thier agility bonus does not actually help you. Got it man , ill give it a try
how bought getting caught in a bubble?
Bubbles don't appear in low sec. Only in null. This method can be easily defeated by a sabre on a gate with microwarpdrive spooled up or insta lock.
How do you blow by a warp indicator in low sec? Personally I drop a micro nuke missile on both the Indicator and the ship with one shot and take off. Transport should be allow to have 8 gun.
Why's the date relevant? Was there something you did in this video that was actually bannable once upon a time o.O?
u cant put bubble in low sec only null and wormhole space
CCP does not see this as a glitch though, it's official.
Does this trick still work in 2020 ?
Yes it does.
Great Vid, Make more tutorials! + i subbed
Great tutorial...there is hope it seems, I'm sick of getting ganked.

what if they bubble the gate? u can't warp in bubble
This tutoriel is for lowsec.
is -0.1 lowsec or null?
Low sec is from 0,4 to 0,1.
I'm a bit new to eve, I don't understand why you need a micro warp drive, I thought that just makes you jump like 100km
Seven years too late but no you're thinking of Micro Jump Drive :p
practice practice practice .... oh pooh they had smart bombs :/
Hello, Dude! Unfortunatelly NOW the Microwarpdrive and the Cloacking Device no more working immediatelly. It's very poor, but it's our real. But anyway thank you for your knowledge.
Все работает. не придумывай
Thats a Micro JUMP Drive Micro warp drive gives you a higher max speed and a big burst of thrust
NICE pilot thanks
a good ceptor could still get you. won't be easy but still possible. a GOOD ceptor :)
what about dirty gates and all that jazz
really? safe to just jump in highs sec? you have hear of high sec ganking of haulers?
Its never that simple lol, but coming from someone who's literally scouted for Kusion's freighter ganking fleet in Uedama, thankfully 90% of the time if you die it is because of a mistake with how your ship was fitted or you were doing something particularly dangerous like auto-piloting.
Fuck stacking penalties, got 6 mag stabs on my Erebus brah!
risky risky fit. HS is not safe LoL I've been the victim a few times transporting goods to and from Jita.
nice bruv :D
Oh I see... You mean industrial ships not actual transport ships.
Oh this is cute.
And these guys cry every time we make a dirty gate camp, cloak shouldn't be activated if another mod is running.
Exactly, next thing you know they'll wanna cloak and bastion... oh shit xD
a cloak a mwd and a warp stabilizer!!!!!!!
Poor setup for doing this.... the inertial stabs each balloon your sig radius on an already large ship approx 9% then the mwd adds another 500 %, Anything on the gate is gonna decloak you easily and Grab you..... Get a Blockade runner..

Joao Feijoo huh?
u mad bro? lololol
Am I the only one who's getting annoyed at him saying M 3 instead of cubic meters or just cubic?
I dunno. I call meters cubed m3 because it's slang for space. "How much space does that take up" could be said as "How much m3 is that stuff?"
***** Well, It's just that I'm not used to hearing cubic meters being called m3 since for me and everyone else I know reading m3 is the same as reading cubic or cubic meters.
***** "what's the volume?" even shorter.
Hahahahaha. Someone is mad.
get a prowler...
heh oh really? hes not abusing game engine he just uses trick that almost any hauler knows, I know how to make Freighter warp in under 5 secs :P
nope CCP says this is legit
No.
George Bush VS Putin
This will get you banned lol
Wrong.
Stupid video, do not follow this guide otherwise you will be killed in lowsec or especially in null anytime when faced 1 player with straight hands or 2+ with claws i!!!!!!!
1 - any fast ship like interceptor/sabre can decloak you if bumped while you 10 sec align then scram and kill
or
2 - insta-lock t3 destroyers and interceptors will lock you instantly if you face them on the gate, they lock you in 1 sec without mvd, and if you press mvd you are locked even faster
best way to be safe - HAVE CLOAK SCOUT SHIP friend/alt and jump with it through the gate before your transport do, if you see a camp - dont' go there and take another route!
