- Back to the lands of dragons and cake! It's still my first time, and reacting to House of the Dragon episode 2 was such a wild ride! Almost like I got to ride the golden dragon of the princess! Or the red dragon of Doctor Who! It was a drama-packed episode of marriages, deceit, and family-bonding! The Targaryens are a hardcore lot of people - reacting to their choices is perhaps one of the highlights of my week!

I like how the entire time Viserys was talking to Lyonel Strong he had already decided not to marry Laena Velaryon, he was just trying to rationalize it.
One of the few reactors who watched the Rhaenys and Rhaenyra's scene and gets it! Bravo guys. Rhaenys wasn't so much as to talking shit but was just spitting out facts. Rhaenys was watching Rhaenyra because it reminded her of her younger self and how she was eager to become Queen herself. Rhaenyra, too young to understand, saw it as her insulting her.
The maggot thing does work, modern western hospitals still do it. Its pretty effective actually.

HaHa great reaction. This is terrific stuff. Just a little note: Daemon taking the egg wasn't him just being petulant, he did it to get Viserys off his ass in Kings Landing and to come himself so he could talk to him without Otto's influence. Daemon knew taking a very specific egg reserved for a direct royal heir would do it (Dreamfyre's egg). Otto saw through it and immediately prevented the King from leaving, he would then report falsely back to Viserys knowing his confidence would not be betrayed by the small group he took with him. He just didn't plan on Rhaenyra turning up lol
Rhaenyra knew her uncle wouldn't hurt her because she knows that Daemon cares for her.
so cupbearer was a very prestigious position in medieval times. You were close to the king and queen, which meant you could ask for favors .Dukes ad Earls considered i an honor to be made a cupbearer.
Those kings and queens didn't ask to trade places with the cup bearer, though.

Actually, maggots are one of the few weird medieval medical treatments that works.
The map table DOES exist. It’s what Aegon and his sister-wives used to plan the conquest of Westeros.
It is supposed to be more than 50 feet long and 25 feet wide. So maybe the one in D&Ds GOT is supposed to be a smaller replica that Stannis had made and Dany later uses?
I hope they have a more book accurate one in this, like they did for the Iron Throne.

The "doom of valyria" was a natural disaster of cataclysmic porportions but wasnt specifically mentioned by actual cause...we just assume it that Valyria suffered the same fate as Pompeii via a caldera (a collapsed volcano)

In the books there is only 10 years difference between the King and Alicent. She much older than Rhaenyra and did not really grow up together

I love your reactions! Some reactors whose videos I've watched do not watch as carefully as you do and miss a lot of important scenes and details. I'm glad you noticed that Viserys was acutely uncomfortable during his 'date' with little Lady Laena; that scene was extremely well done and it could have been handled poorly (kudos to Paddy Considine and the talented young lady who held her own in the role of Laena).

The reason the book readers came into this hating Alicent is because they changed the ages of the characters for the show. In the book Rhaenyra is 8 when Viserys and Alicent get married. Alicent is 18 or 19 and Viserys is in his late 20s. So it's much less icky in the book and there's no best friend dynamic between Alicent and Rhaenyra. It's very much stepmom/stepdaughter. They never got along and Alicent was always pushing her own agenda. She did not come off AT ALL sympathetic in the book, so the show did a very good job of making you feel for her and her side of the story.
This episode are full of drama, I knew you gonna love it and love the reaction btw... please don't too attached with any character because it's going down hill from here, I won't giving any spoilers but safe to say that all of them are gonna make some horrible things in the power struggle. Especially the two females characters that you might like, just imagine two bad bitches with power over army and dragons fighting for more power, they gonna burn the kingdom down with them...so yeah, more drama ahead 😁👍
Alicent is not 15, she is actually older than Rhaenyra, in the books she is 9 years older. In this series seems like the gap is smaller but I still believe she is 18-20 years old. Viserys in the book was in his late 30s, in the series seems a bit older so I guess is in his mid-late 40s in season 1.
And yes people we got it, you are uncomfortable, no need to say it every 2 mins, like it or not that was the world in medieval Europe where the Game of Throne franchise is inspired upon.

Hi, and yes! I watch the episodes ahead of time, but Sam is watching for the first time on camera. (Sometimes it's the other way around). We found with our previous reactions that this helped us avoid missing anything important, and people seemed to really enjoy the humor in it. The few times we both went in blind it didn't go as well, so this is just what works best for us. ❤️Jacqui
@@theshamelist I think it’s better when both reactors are going in blind if you can. I find it more annoying when one person is explaining everything to the other, you’re not meant to know what’s happening first time watching the episode.
Sure it devalues the unexpected and shocking moments when only one person is reacting and the other is smirking at the camera.
Do you not think it’s works better when you’re both bouncing your ideas off each other trying to figure out what is coming next? I think you’ve picked this format because you don’t want to get stuff wrong at all but every reactor is in the same boat.
@@EmBlanca That's fair, and you are absolutely entitled to your opinion. We're perfectly happy with our format though. It works for us, and we don't see the need to change it to be like anyone else. We may not be for everyone, but there are plenty of other channels out there to choose from, so we'll just keep doing what we enjoy, and focus on our audience who seem to enjoy it as well.

Because one has. They explained their format in the first episode. One has seen the episode... one is going in blind.
4:10 Rhaenyra is now the heir to the Iron Throne and no one on the council respects her and just see it in the scene, Otto cut Rhaenyra when she was talking and Viserys did nothing in that situation If it was Daemon he is already shutting everyone up, mainly from Otto, in the scene with Rhaenys it's Rhaenyra everything Rhaenys said to Rhaenyra is true, Rhaenyra is heir to the Iron Throne and even so she continues to give them wine, but the truth is she's participating in the council, but like Rhaenys said they won't want a woman
Viserys shouldn't have married Alicent he made a wrong choice and now there will be consequences for his choice, viserys should have married Laena in the book she is At least Rhaenyra's age different from the series they put a child I don't know why they did that Probably to be more controversial because it's a child, but either way he should have chosen Laena and not Alicent and you'll realize his choice was a mistake when you watch the rest of the episodes.

The most interesting character is definitely Daemon, I don't know why you two don't like him and prefer that dull Cole guy!!!! BTW the necklace she's still wearing it until the end of ep 4
