You may not have realized it, but both the waypoint and satanic circles can be stepped on even if the tile is threatened, because moving to those tiles gives you an extra turn
If you ever get stuck like that at the end, you should just take a look through the cards and see if theres anything that can help. You said yourself how easy it is to forget a single mechanic on a card.
@@Drankoii one of the earlier episodes, Tyler misremembered the Egotic Maelstrom card and called it the Erotic Maelstrom. Since then the editors have snuck references to it
It’s always nice to see a run that fails. Like, you know it’s probably going to get a decent way through - it’s not great content otherwise - but having videos of failed runs keeps the tension because you know that it’s not always guaranteed to be a win.
Really loving the editing. The simple highlighting of what pieces or maneuvers Tyler’s talking about makes it so much easier to understand his Galaxy Brain Gaming
This is such a fun puzzle/chess game to watch. I especially love the way you highlighted the peices you're talking about, makes it easy to follow your logic! Awesome!
0:45 "Caltrops has almost no benefit right now, except injured pieces lose two speed." But it was paired with Conclave (Add 2 Bishops at the start of turn 15), which is one of the cards Caltrops effectively neuters! They are one of the most perfect black/white card pairings. And since you got it round 1, you would have been able to treat any white backup cards you got offered later as much less thretening.
3:02 I can’t believe Tyler has turned French Canadian with a history of teaching English in South Korea who has also caused Career Suicide by playing too much Binding of Isaac
Tyler: wait its fine i get an extra turn Also Tyler: oh the queen's guarding it damn you queen Also, if you think this rank is hard...the next ranks get absolutely disgusting.
Nice Video: One information that could have safed you at the end: At 17:38 you did not have to use the queen soul: You could only walk to the right and the big king cant attack diagonally.
Hey Tyler, I wanted to say thank you for the video, it helped me a lot since today we had to put our pet rabbit down. I hope you keep inspiring and entertaining others just like you do everyday. If the sad news makes anyone else sad i apologize, it is not my intention, i just wanted to vent and thank him. To anyone else that reads this I also hope you have an amazing day/night, full of happiness. Hugs to all.
I feel like your greatest enemy is forgetting what cards you have, like you kept avoiding "checks" that were actually stopped by the moat for basically the whole run. I'd honestly recommend at least glancing over your cards in tough situations to remind yourself what you can do in and if you have options that you thought you didn't have or forgot about.
17:04 I think the plan would've been to attack the king twice, queen soul into the secret mission, where you're safe from the knight because of the extra turn AND you reload AND you can disable bodyguard. then kill the low-hp king For an actual tip instead of backseating: the big king can't get you diagonally
Next time i recommend checking all your cards and enemy cards if you believe you are dead just incase the same situation (having the jousting card but not realize until your dead) happens again.
Does guillotine/theocracy synergize with undercover mission? Sabotage the white army lets you deactivate one of their cards, and both those cards remove their king at the beginning and add a separate win condition. Does the win condition not revert, do the pieces revert, or do you automatically win the round because the condition went back without the pieces, thus leaving them in need of king but still kingless? Just a thought
I’m pretty sure you already know this, but there’s a secret locked behind the red book and another buff for white, and it’s a pretty large secret. I’d love to see you find it!
I don't know if you're aware yet but whilst empty on ammo it takes 2 moves to get 1 shell but if your gun is full then it only takes 1 so a good strategy is to play more passively when you're low on ammo and wait until you're back up to a decent amount
In addition to forgetting about the extra turns, you kept forgetting that the moat protects you from an extra turn if the piece threatening you is across it
I know hindsight is 20/20, but you could have used the Queen soul to land on the secret mission, get an extra turn, and then kill all the knights around
Honestly I think my least favorite thing about this game is that it warns you of some things but then not others. Like discovered check for example. "Well just pay attention then duh", sure, but you already get used to the game warning you that youre gonna do something stupid so you get trained to not pay attention.
a couple of days ago i got a bushido+blade synergy and it was a lot of fun, the thing is i suck at this game so ended up losing on round 9 and i will love to see someone smart like tyler play with that setup
Wonder if you woulda won if you remembered the extra turn, or if you didn't blast the guys back. It's hard to say, but it was very tough Thankfully it means we get more Shotgun King content anyways

He forgets the moat the moment he picks it. Then remembers it. To forget it again. Same with extra turns.
