I feel like since guys don't live in the world of always competing with other men with fashion is the reason they get excited about wearing the same outfits while girls, basically it's like our "brand" to stand out from other women snowflake or not (that doesn't even matter any more tbh), but I know some females who don't get mad if they see it like a fun thing not a uniqueness competition though most of the girls that get mad shop at the same stores like forever 21, h&m, hot topic, etc. or even buy those same popular outfits that have this big ring on every jacket or pair of pants with the occasional chain so it not really a coincidence.
Something similar happened to me in school. One day I decided to try out a new hairstyle and it was pretty cute, but it got ruined before I even reached school because it was humid and raining that morning. A friend of mine, who's also a girl, showed up with the exact same hairstyle (I was shocked bc we didn't plan this) and hers looked so good. I wasn't mad or even jealous of her and instead just made jokes about how that day wasn't for me haha.
I always saw boys in my school horseplay and it almost nearly always the other guy getting pushed to the locker and the guy that pushed him pinned him to the locker. I just walk by and think “Err...y’all don’t like space or...”

I really enjoyed reading stories and watching shows/movies where the guys have a bromance a lot during high school. Why? B/c I got tired to seeing guys trying to one-up each other, fighting each other over stupidly small shit that seeing them get along and have fun was honestly just so refreshing. There’s other reasons too. Like emotional maturity; seeing them be so comfortable w/ themselves and each other that they start to act shameless; being confident and not caring about what other ppl think and just acting like good friends. I also enjoyed seeing this w/ girls and the whole “sisterhood” act, b/c these relationships-even tho they’re not related by blood or are romantically involved w/ each other-they’re just so close, caring, and loving towards one another that they’re all still family at the end of the day. They’ll still go out of their way to provide a shoulder to cry on, a ear to listen, a fist to punch the person who wronged them, lol. Anyways, these types of relationships indirectly shows a lot about the ppl involved. I see a good amount of ppl saying that they don’t have any good friends around them, and how having a friend you can count on is hard to come by. Which is really sad, b/c everyone should have at least one friend they can depend on.
I think it's because the girls are directly comparable then. So if one looks better in an outfit than the other it can get pretty awkward and the person who doesn't work the fit that well will feel self concious. It could also be because some girls want to stand out with their style so it's a bit bothersome if you wore something eveyone else does too. So it's not as much getting mad but rather annoyed, self concious or frustrated Or at the least that's my guess based on the things I've heard.
Most girls get embarrassed. It happened to me in school and we just ignored each other. But you just know people noticed and are comparing and maybe laughing a little inside. I learned a good way to deal with the situation when my friend and an older girl ended up wearing the same top. The older girl just gave a genuinely happy smile and said “OMG. Nice top!” It completely dispelled whatever awkwardness there was and we all just ended up smiling. I thought she was super cool.
