This is Pondmom-Lauri , not Guy, the new president of Plum Grove Estates-which was my former position. I wanted to comment right away after viewing this. I LOVE THIS PRESENTATION! Brian, the transition to the koi breeder was extremely educational and impressive and certainly educates us. Jack, you did a great job of engaging the viewer and explaining the process you went through to re-create the signature indoor pond. I've seen the new feature, but now I will view it with another appreciation. wow, the work involved was certainly impressive. Thanks for this behind -the- scenes story of what goes on with winter projects at Aquascape! Lauri

The white sand was nice, but if it was causing a problem, the black looks fantastic! Great job, Jack, and crew!

The sand wasn’t the problem; the cedar posts holding up the deck that were submerged in the water leached tannins into the water, which the white sand bottom emphasized the dirty colored water.
The water still is dirty yellow less so now but it’s less noticeable with a black bottom pool.

Good morning team Aquascape hope your all having an amazing day. I remember when you guys built this tank and I was completely blown away with how beautiful it was. That sucks that the wood leached into the pond and changed the water color. I loved the white sand aswell but the black is nice aswell.. the pond looks great and I hope the water clears up for you all like your hoping it will. That was a big task to do all that work again. Looks absolutely beautiful. Great job team aquascape. Hope you all have a great day and I'll see you next video like always.

I’ve learned to live with the sand. The benefits of the sand far outweigh the any aesthetic nuisances the sand may cause. In fact, I am adding leaves for the health and color enhancing benefits. The leaves, of course, stain the water. But my customers buy the koi online so they really don’t care what my tank water looks like as long as the koi are colorful and healthy!

I feel like the fish show up better with the white sand. It would’ve been nice to see the new set up with the concrete pillars and charcoal Filtration attempted with the white sand before you went to the black chips. Oh well…nice job 🙋‍♀️💖🇨🇱

I like the black chips at the bottom in the aquarium. It creates contrast and showcases the kio colors. Also, converting a centipede into a carbon container for easy cleaning was brilliant. One can use the same idea and insert a UV lamp in a centipede container to kill bad bacteria.

I understand the benefit of using the same water. However, in this case, the water, on a molecular level, had a tint of yellow from the cedar posts. Would it may sense to replace the entire water?

Couldn’t you do a water change with one of the other ponds? Pump water into the holding tanks bring it up to temp pump it to the filter inlet side and pump the dirty water out to the big pond in front?

    • @TEAMAquascape

We could, but wanted to save water and experiment with the charcoal too.

if you wanted that white look you should have inversed the colors by using the black chips and white stones

Man you gotta lose all the music. You have a great channel, but the channels that have millions of subs don't have music blasting all the way through. And they don't have fast talking narrators. People want a nice calm and pleasant presentation. You have awesome ponds and great content, but it needs to be presented better, not constantly like a stressful time share seminar.
